Finishing up three pancakes for each of them, Chie put them all on seperate plates. She smiled, a bit proud of herself for being able to cook even them even though she probably hadn't cooked for herself in a century. Oni and the other boy entered and went into the pantry, resulting in a giggle from Chie. Honestly, they were going to eat candy? At Oni's question she blinked; well, perhaps he hadn't been listening to what Michi had been calling her. She smiled and replied politely, "It's Chie. Although it's not truly my real name, I don't remember the name I was originally given."
Right, she'd resume her human appearance now. As much as she enjoyed the freedom of being in her real form, it bothered her to surprise people like that... she didn't really enjoy attracting that much attention. Chie closed her eyes and flexed her powers, compressing herself and altering many things. She reverted to her twelve-year old human appearance; her hair still a dark blue and still fairly long (it came to her waist). Now her skin was fair, her eyes - though still a deep red - had pupils and white surrounding them, and she was nearly an entire foot shorter than she was in her real form. Chie opened her eyes and winked at Michi, handing her a plate of three pancakes while she reformed the white child's dress to exactly the way it had been before she'd changed to her blue skin. Chie turned toward the pantry where Oni and the other boy were. "Chocolate chip pancakes for the growing boy!" she said in a bubbly childish soprano. She grinned broadly, practically beaming with the pride of having made pancakes. "I haven't cooked anything in at least a hundred years, you'll have to tell me if it tastes all right." Her cheeks flushed a little, a bit embarrassed to admit that it had been so long since she'd actually made any sort of meal. {aw *pets jesseh* well I'm just trying to kind of involve Michi because she can't exactly randomly poof from the kitchen ^^; so I've been doing my best to leave it open for her...and, evening rin ^_^} |

Oni made sure to make a mental note so he would remember her name. He wondered and asked her,"Does it make you sad that you forgot your real name?" He thought he would be sad if he couldn't remember his name.
He took the pancake from her happily and went to the fridge. He got whip cream, chocolate syrup and berries. Hopefully that would be all he needed. He was really hungry. He sat down and started putting various toppings on his pancake. He took a bite and said with his mouth full, "This is great Chie!" He scarffed his pancake down quickly. ((night Envy ^-^ )) |

At his inquiry of whether she was sad over not remembering, Chie gave a thin smile. "I would ask Michi to look for it, but I don't think she has enough control to look for a specific memory...and I also don't think she'd be able to pronounce it since it'd be in my natural tongue." Perhaps it was a bit sad not to remember her own name... "But I have been known by many names...Isis, Athena, Freya, Abigail, Amelia, Teresa...countless names, it would be difficult to find my true one." The first three names Chie had mentioned were those of goddesses. Why? Because she had been worshipped as a goddess in many different cultures during different periods in time. Of course none of them were her real name, but it was the fact that she had been called by so many vastly different names that made her believe she would simply never be able to remember. And it would be cruel to try and have Michi find it since the young girl would likely be overwhelmed by the amount of memories yet again.
Luckily she was snapped out of such dreary throughts by Oni's comment. Ah! It was good! Chie smiled happily, giggling a bit. "Thank goodness!" She took the opportunity to bite into her own stack and begin devouring them. "Mmm, they really aren't bad, haha!" Her grin spread across her whole face as she continued wolfing down the pancakes. Pity the other boy hadn't wanted any, she thought they were delicious. {ah, I'm good good ^^ and, that's cool rin ^-^ and night envy!} |
Oni was glad to finally get something in his tummy. It really did make him feel better. He looked at Chie and asked, "Is your whole family blue too?" It had made him curious when he first saw her. "My hair is naturally purple but I don't know why," he added absently.

"Is your whole family blue too?" Chie choked on her bite of pancake in surprise, then swallowed it down coughing. She stared at him in disbelief as he continued on saying his hair is naturally purple. The child blinked at him...to ask such a question so bluntly...well, it wasn't like she was offended, it was just that she'd never really been asked before. Heh, though that was probably because she didn't exactly show her true appearance to other people. "Um, my people all have blue skin, though they are not all tattooed as I am." Oh, right, she'd forgotten just how different she was from other people...and the fact that it would be a miracle if there were any of her 'people' still left in the world. But Oni didn't know of her people, he couldn't be any older than eighteen...

He looked at her worried as she coughed and asked, "Are you okay?" She seemed fine just maybe got coffee down the wrong pipe. Oni had done that before.
"I've never seen another blue person before. Do you're people live in another country? I haven't been many places," he said wondering why he didn't see more blue people around if all of her people were that same color. |

Striding upon the path and chilled air partly of his own creation, the man entered once more the establishment, as had been foretold. As he curiously asked about her people's 'country', Chie laughed nervously. "Um, my people...don't exist anymore." She smiled a small smile, placing her fork down as she had finished the last of her pancakes. Chie set the plate on the counter and gazed at Oni steadily, debating... it was probably all right, she just hoped he wouldn't be too shocked, or just flat out not believe her. "I'm from Atlantis." Her expression was gentle, but quite serious. Chie wasn't joking, she was really from the legendary lost city of Atlantis... she wondered if he would assume it was just the name of some foreign country he'd never been to... |
[i walked in looking mad. looking for a table, i sat down at one that was empty. then i leaned over and started rubbing my face, the way people do when irritated or tired.]

Emeriya Emeriya looked down at her. "i dont...want to have to...unless you want me to..." She looked off into the distance. "Every person i've taken blood from...their screams haunt me...in dreams..." Her face looked pained. "they echo in my head..." |
Oni was mad at himself for being so insensitive. He gave her a sad look and tried not to cry for her saying, "I'm so sorry. That must be awful." It made him think about how is brother had died and forced himself to push that away. He couldn't deal with it right now.
When she said she was from Atlantic Oni wondered where that was. He asked, "I never heard of it. Is it really far away from here? I know there are lots of countries and stuff but I don't know most of them. Sorry I'm. . .I'm not very smart." Oni looked at the ground, he hated that he was so stupid. |
Rin woke up with a yawn rolling off to one side of the bed. He was half awake and half asleep not really caring about much at this point

Chie smiled at his sorrow for her. "No need to sound so sad, my people were greedy so they were punished by God." Woooow, she really sounded like she was speaking jibberish. The young girl laughed softly to herself when he said that he didn't really know where it was. "Silly child, no one knows where my country is. That is why it is known as the lost city of Atlantis." She chuckled, cheering up at the boy's wrong interpretation of her words. "I am over ten thousand years old," she laughed harder now, putting a hand on her stomach as she did. It was so very entertaining! Well, she couldn't expect all people to immediately believe she was from such a place... Her laughter suddenly cut off though, and she turned her head toward the sitting area with the bar. "...We have another guest." Chie blinked, dark red eyes staring at the bar's direction. She raised her voice a bit and called, "Hello sir, what brings you to this inn?"

Rain shrugged, thinking of her words. She could heal herself…. And this was one drama she could control. The witch sighed and shook her head, stepping back and looking up at Emeriya and half smiling. “Want you to? Not particularly but if it’ll get your sexy ass down here and me inside so I can eat something, feel free to come down here and get a snack.” She then playfully curtsied and waited for her. Her mind was drifting, falling to other things. Was this wise? Probably not but it’d get things done. |
Rin dressed and walked downstairs seeing Chie. he could not help himself he snuck up behind her and messed with her hair. "Hey what's going on the eveing?" He asked in a nonchalant tone.

Not that she didn't sense his presence, but he wasn't a threat so she didn't pay attention...well, untill he messed with her hair. "Ah!" She reached up with her hands to 'protect' her hair. Chie looked up at him with a mock-glare, pouting - though it was close to a smile. "Just what do you think you're doing? ...Oh, and did you see the man in the bar area, I was just about to go check..." Chie trailed off as she stepped around him and walked out to the table where the man sat with his head held in his hands. Did his head hurt? "Sir?" She questioned, staring at him with her innocent child's face.

Emeriya Emeriya looked down at her in disbelief. She...was willing? She thinks I'm sexy...? Emeriya blushed and gracefully hopped down. As she took a breath she stepped towards Rain, tucking her white hair behind her ear. Here eyes greew red andshe let her fingertips glide across the skin of Rain's neck. "It may hurt at first...But when the donor is willing..it turns to pleasure..." She breathed on Rain's neck, letting her fangs graze the skin of her neck. "You sure you want this..?" |
Oni felt a little better that no one else knew where her country was but that still seemed weird to him. He did not want to sound any more stupid then he already had so he didn't say anything. Oni silently followed her when she went to greet the new quest. When he saw Rin, he didn't know why, but he got terrified. He started to shake and back away wanting to hide somewhere. He started to feel a little panicked and looked for somewhere to hide or run to.

Rin held up his hand gently his palm out. "Easy there Oni no need to get worked up ok. Just take a breath and go sit down ok." Rin turned to Chie and his voice turned somber. "I was just on my way into the town nearby I need to pick up some supplies and well this place doesn't have much in the form of food lately, and unlike most people here I need food to survive so I was going to pick up things to cook as well. And well I thought you might want to go along is all." Rin was dressed in a long sleeve shirt over his light armor to keep his tattoo on his forearm hidden the best he could. He knew there would be people in that town that could recognize it and it would be trouble for him.

He did a lot of that... the ellipses thing. He would've accompanied it with staring, if not for the fact that he was currently staring at the darkness in his palms and behind his eyelids. Still the sigh he released was not all a relieved one... perhaps one of checked irritation? "..." He finally looked up at her, crystal blues just watching and waiting for her to keep talking. Or not. "..." |
Oni didn't listen to Rin being too scared of him. He bolted through the kitchen and outside. His fear would not release him and he kept going into the forest. He kept running, his mind filled with terror and fear of danger and death. Finally he collapsed unable to run anymore. He lay panting and wondering why he was so scared of Rin but too terrified to delve into his memory to find out. Oni curled up trying not to cry.
