Rain watched as she leaped down, feeling her sweep her hair to the side. The witch glanced at the sky a moment, looking up at the pattern of the leaves. She had her hands on her hips slightly, appearing slightly bored if anything though she shivered ever so slightly at the feeling of the fangs.. In truth giving herself up to pain willingly was something extremely difficult for her…but she preferred temporary pain over drama…it was a simple, practical decision.

Accordingly she simply nodded, tilting her head so her hair fell away and exposed her neck even more fully. She stayed quiet a moment before saying softly, “I wouldn’t offer something I wasn’t sure of giving, not my nature.” She then shrugged her shoulders, the words clear. The woman did not play games…

Chie was aware of Oni panicking behind her, but she didn't turn around. Her blood red eyes remained focused on the newcomer. Why was he here? Why wasn't he saying anything? Was he a mute? Was he deaf? Did he just hate everyone? Chie frowned slightly when the man looked at her but still did not speak. "I do not like to read minds, please reply with why you are here." Her childish soprano rang out clear, a small twinge of annoyance in it - Chie did not like to be ignored, particularly when she was being stared at so directly. If he still did not reply, she considered de-materializing the chair he was sitting on...

But her silent fuming was interrupted as she remembered Rin answering her earlier question. Oh right, he had asked if she wanted to go into town. "Certainly...I am not sure if anyone alive will still recognize me, but I passed through here only thirty years ago, so it is possible." She debated internally for a little bit, wondering if it would be safe or not. People tended to panic when they saw her for a second time in their lifetime and realized she looked exactly the same - although some people just deluded themselves into believing she was some other person.

Chie glanced behind her as Oni took off in terror, her eyes wide with surprise. She turned and looked at Rin with a puzzled expression, tilting her head. "Are you that much of a demon, Rin?" She glanced back at the blue-eyed stranger once, but found herself staring at the kitchen through which Oni had fled...she wondered if she ought to find him and bring him back, this forest here wasn't always safe. Well, that was unless they'd gotten rid of their predator problem since she'd last been here... but it was during the day, perhaps he would be fine.

She would do that to someone legitimately deaf, or mute? The removal of a chair, because a patron cannot, or for whatever reason, will not speak... how harsh things are in a day when such a thing is so easily considered!

"Why are you here? What word binds you to where you stand?"

He leaned his head back just enough to cross his fingers together, just before leaning slightly forward again in a watchful gaze that hid everything beneath his nose.

Gendo pose, sans gleaming shades.

"Nah I'm not a demon. He was the one I mentioned last night. Being the guy who goes into your head almost kills you and give you memory loss will do that to you. Like I said most people here tend to hate me so talking to you is refreshing and a reason for me to not lock myself into my room at all times." He laughed slightly and then looked down at her. "To think I would be carrying on intellectual conversations with a ancient using the shell of a child as a guise. This is completely beyond me. I never thought this would happen and at the same time I never thought I would be alive to this day." Rin walked to the door and opened it for her. "After you miss." He said in a singsong voice.

Emeriya

Emeriya nodded and let her fangs peirce the skin, gently sucking the blood from her neck. The taste was intoxicating, the magic swirled in the blood gave an aphrodisiac effect. Emeriya wrapped an arm around Rains waist, and the other around her back. Her eyes began to turn black as she fed on the witch. The taste was soo good...

{ehhhh, is monseiru's character telepathic? o_o actually, um, since you don't have a profile posted up, could you give us a bit of a description of your character? ^^; it's a bit hard to have nothing to work with... I'll edit my post accordingly}

At last the stranger gave her a reply, a cryptic one at that. She blinked. 'Unable to give a straight answer?' She wondered rather openly at the man. Honestly, curiosity was killing her and it was incredibly tempting to just use her telepathy and read his mind - though she had a sneaking suspicion it would all be in riddles too... "I am here because I wander, I am bound to nowhere and go as I please. And you, are you a wanderer too?" She gazed at him lingerlingly, intrigued by his remark, but determined to get his reply. But Rin gave his reply and she tore her gaze away from the odd man.

Chie blinked; so he had done such a thing to Oni? Quite frankly she still didn't understand why...after all it was incredibly dangerous to dive into another's subconscious. She pouted slightly when he commented again on her using a child as a guise; was it really that distracting? Chie smirked. "Too bad you were not down earlier, you might've seen something rather interesting." Indeed, if he had come down mere minutes before, he might've seen her real appearance. Ah, but, too bad for him. Blood red eyes followed him as he walked to the door and opened it, but she did not move from the man's table. "After you miss." Well, he seemed rather cheerful... "No, wait a moment..." Her gaze drifted back to the stranger curiously.

Rain bit her own lip as she felt her skin being pierced, her hands slipping in her pockets to cover up their curling into fists. She fought every instinct not to give into the urge to push away, for Rain’s more animalistic instincts such as that to survive had developed rather strongly out of necessity. Still she made no sound or motion aside from this though she felt the pain began to be replaced by something else…. It was almost…nice. But then she saw a woman appear behind a tree…In period clothing older then her life…. She looked at Rain with a sad sorta smile……..then disappeared. It was then Rain realized…she’d just seen a ghost…

Rin halted at the doorway idly cracking his casting fingers. He didn't know what to make of the situation, but it was not really his thing to worry about he mused staring from the doorway ready for any movement.

Emeriya

Emeriya slowly pulled away from Rains neck, licking the wound closed and slowly licking up all the left over blood. She pulled back and looked at Rain, licking her own lips. Her hunger was saited, and she felt...better then ever. This odd energy was pulsing through her. She had had witches blood before, but nothing like that. She hungered for more, but knew she would be fine for now. Rain was already weak.
"Mmm....thank you..."

brown skin, blue eyes. claws on hands and feet. pointed ears. hair currently black... shaggy-like, meets his shoulderblades. garb is a gray sleeveless tee and black slacks. visible accessories include silver-and-gold armbands and "skirt" that's really a tassel that's really a tail guard.

yeah... canine tail, matching hair color. even when unable to see his tail, seeing that he's a wolfkind is easy.

"Everyone wanders... coming and going. I came as you're going. Isn't it enough? Or is this not an inn where such a thing is expected? All the same, I return for my word."

He blinked rather slowly at her.

"Nothing but your own wonder binds you to your spot. I don't accept that I'm so engaging or enthralling... and so I encourage you to regain your free will and wander."

Once Oni caught his breath he sat up and leaned his back against a near by tree. He wasn't certain of why he ran away from Rin. Memories keep trying to force their way back into his mind. He tried to keep them at bay but finally his own mind consumed him with memories. Everything came flooding back. How Rain had held him so he could not get away. Rin diving into their minds when it had still been them not just him. Rin binding brother and brother trying to fight back only to be blown apart. He could see and feel Xanic's mind being shredded at the magician's words of power. He shivered in fear and loss. . . Rin had killed his brother and Rain had let him. His eyes turned a little crazy with anger. They killed Xanic.

Rain gazed forward at the spot the spirit had been a moment, swaying a little as she felt weak from being dinner and all. Lily… Lily had said something before she’d died. Maybe it hadn’t been caused by a combination of dying and a fever after all…

Hearing Meri she nodded and turned back to look at her, saying softly ‘ yeah…. No problem.” She began to draw on her magical energy to make up for the blood loss, only now looking from the spot to Meri. “Hey, lets go get me something to eat…… and you’re cooking.” she teased, playfully poking Emeriya’s chest gently. She then turned and began to head for the Inn.

Chie couldn't help but be spellbound by the man before her. After all, it'd been a while since she'd met someone who spoke as he did...not for ages had she heard someone talkin with such cryptic language. Red eyes gazed at him calmly as he spoke, mystified. She blinked when he finished and basically told her to 'leave him alone' in a sense. The child stared at him still, silent for a few moments... "I do as I please," she said, a brilliant smile breaking across her lips, "And you are a most interesting person to speak with, we shall chat when I return." Chie giggled as she made her little statement clearly. She would most definitely have to talk to this strange brown-skinned man again...he seemed so very wild. "Ah, help yourself to food and drink, most of do that anyway." She added her last comment with a smile, skipping over to the door where Rin was waiting, her dark blue hair swinging freely behind her. With a grin, she paused and looked up at him. "Okay, we can go now!" Childish laughter ensued as she skipped down the front steps with lithe dancer's steps.

Emeriya looked to where she was staring. Had there been someone there? She stroked Rains cheek as she left, she really appreciated this...if she fought the hunger too long...theres no telling what could have happened...
"Yeah...sure.."
She looked back to where Rain had stared and then turned to follow Rain inside.

Rin followed her out of the door walking past Rain, and who Rin called the annoying one for lack of her name. The way he was walking behind Chie it looked more like a guarding watching his client's six. He snickered at this a bit as they continued to walk. Rin kept quiet for several minutes, but when they finally reach the gate of the Inn he broke his silence. "Why do I feel like your bodyguard all of a sudden. I mean you are far older than me and much more versed in the magical arts, but when we are walking like this I feel like the guardian." He said in a light tone. Rin was just getting tired in his years. He was only 19 from as far as he could remember he could be older in his mind due to the acceleration process they did to him in the labs of Antioch. In truth Rin was a 19 year old with the mind and mana tank of a 90 year old scholar. His brain felt old which made his body feel old and himself feel old, and in an odd way seek companionship from anyone. He mused "look at yourself." He thought. "Your walking with an ancient all for the reason she doesn't deject you and you attitude."

The stroke of her cheek caught Rain’s attention but only for a moment. She continued her walk in towards the kitchen, her head bent in thought. Lily….perhaps lily’s death had a purpose…perhaps there was more to do with it then a failing body. Perhaps he really was coming…and with Oni in such a vulnerable state…

Shaking her head she walked in the front door, heading for the kitchen. She then perched on a chair, glancing towards Meri. For a moment Rain half smiled, unable to keep from wondering darkly what she must have tasted like…as much coffee as she drank she imagined her blood had to be fairly bitter. It was a goofy, silly thing to think about but at the moment it was a good way to escape her other thoughts…

Chie happily skipped ahead of Rin, grinning ear to ear. What an interesting man she had met! They would have many conversations later, yes they would! Just passing through the gate, she caught Rin's voice and turned - absentmindedly skipping backwards. "Why do I feel like your bodyguard all of a sudden. I mean you are far older than me and much more versed in the magical arts, but when we are walking like this I feel like the guardian." Chie blinked, then giggled, raising a hand to cover her mouth as if to prevent the laughter. "You're silly Rin. I know of magic but I cannot perform it. Your word spells don't work for me, but it doesn't mean that I don't know the whole lot of them." She continued to smile as she skipped backwards, not paying any attention to the tree she was approaching - but truly aware of its presence. "I don't do 'magic', I manipulate matter." She spoke as if to clear the misunderstanding (yeah sure, as if manipulating matter wasn't magic...) and just before her back would've collided with the tree, a Chie-sized hole formed in its trunk, closing after she went through. Chie then peeked at him from around the tree, smiling. "It's a bit different from what Michi does."

"I suppose your right all I know is it must just be my age getting to me. Or I should say my brain's age. I would kill to be a kid again or at least go back to when I was as old as you look, because back then I had no magic no nothing I was just a normal awkardly shy pre-teen boy who's biggest problem was finding a girlfriend." He laughed at this thought, and could not really hold it back. "I guess that's me getting nostalgic about things once again. I feel like such an old man around you it's not even funny." He looked at the hole she made impressed to say the least and kept walking staring at her lost in his own thoughts as the town's skyline loomed in front of them. It was weird though they were out celebrating this time of night. This might make things more difficult. He was just wanting to meet his contact and leave, but if there are drunkards around it might get annoying. "Try to keep the profile low tonight last thing I need to killing drunkards."

Emeriya

Emeriya was in a lovely haze, almost a high off Rain's blood. There was an irremovable smile on her face as she make maceroni and cheese. She kepts humming love songs to herself, serenading Rain between stirs of the maceroni. She was in the greatest mood she'd been in in years.

"I will be there for you
This much I promise you
I will be there when yours scared
I will hold you tonight
Whether I’m wrong or right
I will be there"

She sang with the voice of her mother, who could bring people to tears. As she made bowls for her and Rain she walked over and handed Rain the bowl.
"For you my love."
She smiled.

Then again… perhaps her blood was not so bitter as she thought, Rain mused as she looked up and noticed Emeri’s mood. She raised an eyebrow, listening to the song. It was cute, wonderful really. Rain hadn’t exactly been serenaded before. Did she really believe that ‘Meri meant she loved her? Not really, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy the moment.

Rain had learned one thing in her short, and often painful, life ….Life is going to hurt, bad, of that you have no control. You do control, however, if life is going to ever feel good so you must snatch those moments and hold on tight….and never let go. Because no matter how powerful you got, no matter how long you lived, truly….those moments were all you really had.

“Thanks beautiful.” She responded with a laugh finally, reaching up to tousle the raven locks of hair before turning to eat a few bites of macaroni. A soft smile crossed her warm lips as she let her mind fall in thought, inwardly observing that it would be a good night anyway…She was clearly going to get to enjoy ‘Meri’s after glow

Emeriya blushed at the compliment and started to eat her maceroni. It didnt taste nearly as good as Rain she thought to herself. Her tounge slid across her lips as she thought about the taste. Realizing what she was doing she shook her head gently to clear it. She was having the feeling of being slightly drugged....but it was a good feeling.
"Beautiful, eh?"
She winked.
"Look whos talking."

She chuckled at his explanation, finding it incredibly ironic that she made him feel old. Well, who could blame her for finding it funny? After all she was infinitely older than him. It was a wonder, when he talked about his brain's age, that he had been experimented upon. Humans were such cruel creatures, interfering with God's natural works... as if she should be one to comment on their actions. After all she was from quite the sinful race, her rather unique appearance was proof of that. Ah, that reminded her, she'd have to explain clearly to Oni what she was when she got back to the inn...it was a little irksome to have already said it plainly and still not have it be understood.

The town on the horizon, Chie smiled. There were many people out tonight, she had to wonder what they were celebrating... but then again she probably shouldn't ask many questions, who knew who she might meet. It might be bad if she ran into someone who remembered her. "Try to keep the profile low tonight last thing I need to killing drunkards." She blinked. Eh? Killing drunkards, keeping a low profile? Chie couldn't help but start laughing, nearly doubling over with it. "So...so funny! Now you really do sound like my bodyguard!" And she was laughing so hard that tears came to her eyes. Chie deftly wiped them away as she struggled to contain her laughter. "There's no need to be killing anyone, that's considered interfering." She breathed at last once her laughter had subsided. She smiled as she glanced up at him. "They'll just go crazy if they try to bother me!" And giggling, she ran off toward one of the stores. He had said they were here to get supplies after all.

Rain smirked a moment and shook her head, simply laughing. She was well aware she had…pleasant features if you excluded the ugly scars. Beautiful? Wasn’t so sure of that but pretty at least. She so responded with a playful bow and returned “Thank you m’lady.”

Yawning softly she began to eat, absently wondering where Oni was. She worried a little but her thoughts quickly drifted to Meri. Rain was having fun….despite everything. For a moment she reached up and let her fingertips run over the bite, a soft scar there as the wound had closed before she got to it. Even a healer could not reverse scars it seemed…Yes... 'Meri's loving mood was a most unexpected twist...and one Rain had every intention of enjoying.

Emeriya saw Rain touching the scar, she felt slightly guilty...she had added another scar...Rain's blood was still rushing through her, giving her a high. Leaning into Rain she kissed the scar gently a whispered, letting her breath trail on Rain's neck.
"Im sorry..for the scar.."
She closed her eyes, resting her head on Rain's shoulder amoment, suddenly not hungry anymore.
