Rain shivered as he felt along her sides, mumbling something and turning over so her back was facing him. She only awoke as she heard him thunk to the floor, sitting bolt upright and shaking her head. She then eyed him wearily, realizing that last night she’d confused him with Harry and curled up with him like she did both twins at night. She was their ‘mini mommy’ they always said. “Um….You Dante again or still panicking?” She asked quietly, peeking over the edge of the bed at him. She was inclined to think he wasn’t…after all he wasn’t’ yelling at her. She seemed almost…meek….and just a tad embarrassed. She wasn’t so sure she wanted to explain confusing him with her little brother and being drunk enough to not remember where Dante’s room was….damn paranoia of his… Once he was himself…oh boy….this was not going to be fun… Amoni blushed at the wink, looking down at the food. She took a few more bites, her ear flickering at a minor thunk but decided it was just someone else waking up. She dismissed it and turned back to Hito, pausing in her eating to take a sip of water then speaking finally. “I doubt I’ll ever not like your cooking….” she murmured softly. ((No but she’ll want to wear her veil XD)) |
Hito returned her smile grateful for the compliment about the cooking. "Would you like to going into town today? I would like to explore a bit and wander. It would be a pleasure to have you with me." He hoped she would say yes but was unsure if going into such a crowded place would make her uncomfortable or not.

"Eh...?" Dante looked up at Rain with a blank expression. Panicking...? He winced as his throat ached, suddenly hunching over and coughing into his hands. Each cough burned worse than the last. He calmed himself after a moment and swallowed a sick metallic flavor down before looking back to Rain. "Stop talking." He muttered before pushing himself onto his feet. He stared at the floor drowsily, his head spinning from the sudden rise. It wasn't just the spinning head, his voice was raspy; almost gone. It burned like a bitch!
He stroked his bruised neck, wincing a bit as he hoped to just get better soon. His eyes fluttered as he stumbled, though caught himself. "Heal me...-" He wheezed through his irritated throat, "-and I'll kill you." He stumbled right up to the door, practically running into the wall before reaching up to the door handle. But wait... he stopped, hesitated for a long moment to contemplate such an action. |
Rain was actually embarrassed enough she listened….for a little bit. She cleared her throat a moment as he neared the door, turning and walking to the window. She looked out, finding it easier then looking at him. What could she say to him? OH well, at least he wasn’t yelling at her still. “….you sure you wont’ let me heal you?” She said almost timidly, saying nothing else. She stiffened her shoulders, clearly expecting him to refuse….and not very nicely at that. She frowned, chewing her lip thoughtfully. I…do not see how you could explore easily with someone like me around…but I wouldn’t object to going with you….” Amoni said softly, blushing faintly as she focused on her food again. She frowned inwardly, thinking of her usual reactions in town…oh well…at least usually pickpockets were too freaked out by her to approach. A dark smile twitched at her lips but it brightened as she looked up at him. “I’m not well liked in town….” she said softly. |
"Exploring will be easy and I will enjoy your company. If any one in town gives you trouble they will deal with a very old and very angry vampire," he said to her. He enjoyed watching her as she was so cautious of every move and word. "So once you are finished and ready we can head out," he said letting her know he didn't mind waiting if she wanted to change or do any of those things women do before going out.
|
Dante paused, his eyes growing solemn as she asked her question. Silence covered the room and his mind fell blank. It took awhile, but he found his words. "It doesn't matter if I get cut, it can always be healed." Dante quoted before leaning his head against the door frame. "Even if it challenges my life, Rain... I need the pain. I don't want the easy route out. I don'-" His voice only became more and more strained and whispy as he spoke, ending with a hacking fit.
He struggled, but he caught himself again. "I don't want the easy way out!" He winced, gripping his throat lightly as his head spun from the coughing fit. "If... you want to help... my cooking skills are worthless..." Well, it was all he could think of right now. He was starved, wounded, and sick. All he was craving was a good tomato soup. |
Rain winced with each hacking cough but said only a soft “Okay…” She only responded to the comment of food, her head turning to look at him with that same slightly embarrassed look of earlier. She was glad he wasn’t awake enough last night to hear her call him Harry… “Okay…What do you want to eat…something warm I suppose? You sound like you could use it” She managed to smile, heading for the door. She was tempted to scoop him up but didn’t as then he really would kill her, simply waiting for him to open the door or step back so she could do it. She didn’t want to end up opening the door into him…she held her hands in her pockets, debating inwardly. This was…odd…to her. He was being so…honest and not insulting her one bit. She shook of the thought, He’d probably be his normal self soon, no use thinking about it. “I’ll be ready when I finish…” She said quietly, glancing down and flickering her ears. She really didn’t’ have any ‘normal’ cloths…or really much cloths to speak of really. She wore her bandages for their ability to be so easily mixed with metal, and boots, and ripped up stockings for a reason. The closest she came to an actual fashion item was the blue short corset cinch that went around her waist…and if that was only something she wore sometimes to hide various weapons… Amoni felt so unfeminine in that moment…but she shook it off. Why did she suddenly care? Idiot…she told herself as she took another bite of omelet. “but please…if anyone does say anything…ignore them as I do?” She added softly. |
Dante breathed and pulled the door open. "Rain... just don't tell anyone about what happened. Please..." His eyes grew distant and he slipped out of the room. He kept his balance as best as he could as his mind fell blank once more.
He refused to ask for help. He didn't want to be touched at all. Just being latched onto a woman... he crossed his arms and breathed, carefully starting down the stairs at a comfortable pace. |
Hito gave her a look that gave no room for argument and said, "Amoni if anyone disrespects you it doesn't mean I will get violent. I will however use which ever words necessary to set them in their place. A gentleman does not stand by while a lady is insulted." He hoped she would understand his position. He was wise enough not to rip someones head off but he had a sharp tongue when it came to disrespect.
((colors out again)) |
“Dante…I may be a bitch but I’m not evil…I won’t say a word…” Rain muttered as she rolled her eyes. She followed lightly, starting towards the stairs. She knew he didn’t want help, and her hands were clenched in her pockets as she resisted the urge to help, but she said nothing. She only walked down the stairs, a little slower then normal. She was debating what to make, saying conversationally “What kind of soups do you like….I think I’m in the mood for soup.” She yawned, acting as if she really wanted to make some for herself anyway…He was more stubborn about being helped then she was she thought absently… I wish you wouldn‘t…” Amoni said with a sigh, not wanting a fuss to be made if it did happen. She was not a fan of the attention it got. She took a few more bites of her rapidly disappearing omelet before saying quietly “But I do understand…” She glanced towards the stairs, hearing something and seeing the small one that smelled like the once possessed man and the busty witch. She shrugged before turning to her food. |
"Tomato..." He muttered as his eyes fluttered. He stumbled and reached out, barely catching himself the the stair railing. His eyes went wide as he looked to the stair he was standing on. Nothing fish...
He quickly forced himself to to his feet and hurried down the rest of the stairs, suffering the dizziness afterwords. He stumbled to one of the bar stools and hunched over it, using i as support as he pulled his head back together. |
Hito thought things over and decided perhaps something else would be better. He gave her a smile and said, "If you like we could stay here. I'm sure we could easily find something entertaining." He got up and looked out the window saying, "It's quite sunny today and it would be a bit annoying. I prefer to have us both in a pleasant mood."
|
“Convenient…that was my mother’s favorite.” Rain observed absently, watching as he nearly fell. She bit her lip, visibly annoyed…not because he fell but because she couldn’t do anything about it without triggering an explosion…annoyed because she had to sit there and watch. She simply hurried downstairs, her eyes on the kitchen. She wandered into it to make the tomato soup, nodding at the two on the table. She glanced out, thinking about Dante as she gathered ingredients and began to make the soup. It reminded her more of taking care of others and she suppressed a sigh. She felt so useless…all the power of her witchcraft couldn’t save Dante from himself…or her from herself…or emeriya from herself…it drove her crazy sometimes… “Whichever you wish…” Was Amoni’s soft reply as she finished the omelet. She picked up the bowl of fruit, absently walking closer to the window to look out as well. It was sunny…so that bothered the vampire? That was interesting she thought absently, looking again to Hito. She studied his profile absently a moment, focusing on the fruit bowl a moment. She felt a slight guilt as he seemed to change his plans for her…. “I would…enjoy whatever you choose I’m sure…” She said absently. She glanced over at Rain as she entered, hearing the independent witch snort at her words as if she did not approve... |
"The sun makes me feel a bit lazy," he said with a laugh. When Rain entered with the boy Hito said, "Morning." Looking back to Amoni he asked, "So what would you like to do today. I know you would be more than happy to go with my plans but it would be nice to get your opinion."
((can you tell im having brain farts today )) |
Dante recovered slowly, picking himself up and carefully climbing up onto the stool. He immediately rested his arms on the counter, then his head on his arms. He just wanted more sleep. No, cut that... he wanted to get out of this place. When would he find his target?
( Yuh, really. And stop oggling over one character! You're always with her! xD Stupid horny vampires. ) |
Rain glanced over as she heard the green woman talk, smirking slightly in a way that seemed to say ‘obviously…’ Rain smirked all through finishing her soup, honestly finding the two formal people amusing. She soon had two bowls of the steamy mixture and glanced towards the two. “You two should just kiss and get over it. “ She taunted with a laugh, skipping out of the kitchen before either could retaliate. Her good humor faded, however, as she saw Dante and a sigh escaped her. He looked so depressed…it made her feel kinda guilty. She stood next to him a moment before putting the bowl next to him, a spoon already sitting on the edge slightly. She then sat a couple stools away, knowing he didn’t want to sit by her and began to pick at her own soup. …a real talent considering it was soup… The truth was simple……..but terribly embarrassing to her. Spend time with him… She shook her head, refusing to answer so sentimentally. She ate the last bit of her fruit, pretending to look thoughtful while she took her bowl to the sink. “Well…” She finally said softly, walking back towards him. “I really had no plans today except perhaps to do a little reading…I…don’t tend to do much for fun…” She finally admitted, knowing that she was just a little boring. |
Hito had to remember not to be rude and said instead, "Some us prefer to actually take time to know those we court." What he really wanted to say was that he had more tact than to just jump in the bed with someone because he was lonely. He knew though that he was irritable and the woman did not need such words.
He turned to Amoni and said, "Do you play chess?" |
Dante heard the bowl clink against the counter. He didn''t budge for a good few minutes, though finally found the will to snap out of his nap and pull the bowl closer. He sat up, staring at it cautiously for a moment. He eyed Rain, watching her eat as he picked up his spoon. Poison...? Maybe.
He sniffed the spoon before glancing at the soup. His drowsiness was enough to gt his the dunk the spoon in. He sipped from the edge of the spoon, tasting it and waiting of any oddities before taking the whole spoonful. Maybe not... |
She simply smirked at hitos words but of course had already proceeded to her spot. She noticed Dante‘s actions and sighed. “If I wanted to kill you I wouldn’t be near so subtle…you know that.” Rain muttered as she saw him regard the soup the same way he had the drink last night. She shook her head, taking a few spoonfuls of her own soup while inwardly cursing him. She was worried about him and he was worried about…the soup… It annoyed her for a reason she couldn’t name. Then again to be honest she was just tired…and a little hung over… Court… Amoni glanced towards Rain then Hito, thinking absently she wasn’t so sure that was going on. She had a feeling that he might just be humoring her….or that it was the song. It would pass surely…or so she figured as she kept her emotional walls so high as she always had. She then heard him speak and managed a slight smile, her lips still an embarrassed pink. “I…have seen it played but never really knew how myself. I wouldn’t mind learning how, however, if you have the patience to teach me…” She murmured softly. |
"Oh yes indeed I do not mind teaching you at all. Chess is a game I think you may like," he said joyfully now that he was able to be in teacher mode again. Hito could not help but enjoy opportunities to teach. He figured it must be in his blood.
Hito went over to her and took her hand gently leading the way into the main area while saying, "Sadly I did not bring one of my sets but I believe I saw one downstairs in the basement." |
Dante fell silent as his eyes averted nervously. He swallowed, his hand shaking a bit as he thought about her comment. It took him a bit, but without answer he returned to his soup, spooning the contents out and carefully ingesting it. The last thing on his list was a burned throat, after all.
|
Rain rolled her eyes as he continued to regard the soup with paranoia, sighing softly. She couldn’t help but be a little offended, still she only finished her own soup silently. She began to rub her temples a moment, leaning to the side. She had a headache but said nothing more, not knowing what to say. Finally she simply said, “I know ya hate me Dante, but believe it or not I don’t even want to hurt you…even I do simply by having a vagina…” She then stood, retrieving herself a glass of milk and returning to sit grumpily to her seat. She sipped it, having always liked milk with tomato soup, and stared into space, looking just….tired. The warlock was gone…but the guilt was not… Amoni nodded, feeling her fingers wrap around his as he took her hand. She smiled at him faintly then looked down, letting him pull her into the basement. Slowly she lifted her veil back into place as they went down the stairs, seeing his joy. He was definitely a teacher at heart she thought with amusement, simply glancing at the side in thought. ((I know how to play chess btw so you can just be all ’explains the rules’ if you want XD.)) |
Hito was glad she kept her hand in his as they made their way to the basement. It did not take long for him to find the chess set. Holding it under arm and keeping her hand in his empty hand he smiled saying, "Well it's not the best set but it will do." He led the way back upstairs and went to a table. He let go of her hand so he could pull the chair out for her. As he did so he heard a bolt of thunder way far off. He would have missed it was it not for his sensitive hearing. He looked at her with a grin and said, "Well it's a good thing we decided not to go to town. There's a storm heading this way."
Hito then got an idea. It hopefully would help mend things between him and the possessed man. He turned to Amoni saying, "Excuse me for just a moment." He walked into the kitchen and looked at he boy and said, "I'm not sure if you are interested young man but I was wondering if you could help me teach this young lady out here how to play chess? It would be easier to teach with a partner who knew how to play." He did not know if he could play chess or not but it was worth asking. |
Dante stopped again, shaking his head slowly. Those two had gone off downstairs by now. He could talk. "It's not you." Dante muttered quietly. "It's unconscious." He covered his mouth as he coughed before bowing his aching head. "I let a man get close to me and he almost killed me. It's hard for me to trust anyone." He finished the rest of his soup in silence before taking it and carefully climbing down from the stool. He walking back into the kitchen, placing the bowl up onto the counter before gripping the edge of the counter. He didn't like leaving work for someone like this; he'd have to clean it. Why did he have to be so short right now...?
Then he heard thunder. He jumped and looked around wildly, trying to place the noise until common sense took him. He looked to the vampire and green chick that had returned before groaning and leaning his head against the counter in front of him. Chess...? He huffed heatedly before pushing away from the counter and looking up at the vampire. "Chess...?" He muttered to himself before rubbing his tired face and heading out of the kitchen. "Fine..." ( EDIT! ) |
Rain sighed, thinking of how she started if a grown man touched her…It wasn’t there fault either now was it… She shook her head slightly and simply muttered a soft “Sorry…” She then walked to the kitchen counter, taking her glass with her as she sipped her milk. She watched him a moment, tempted to ask him if he needed help. She found herself interrupted, however, as she saw the two speaking. She could see his annoyance but said nothing for a moment. She raised an eyebrow, however, as he agreed. She stayed at the counter, sipping her milk still in thought. Amoni seemed to sigh as he released her hand, feeling annoyed that she missed the contact so quickly. She bowed her head and said a soft ‘thank you’ before sitting in the chair. She smiled beneath her veil as he spoke the last, twitching one cat like ear. “I am glad that we are so lucky then…” She said warmly, glancing to watch him as he walked to the child. Hmmm…this was interesting. |
