Arina forgot about the large wolf and then smiled. "I'm making a roast, there should be plenty if you're hungry when it is done." She invited the animal happily. "I haven't seen you in a few days, have you been well?"
Ti smiled a bit, but a sadness slid past his eyes. "Yea, Yule is almost here, isn't it?" He said, letting go of her waist. He moved away to almost be hit by a running Oni. "Whoa! slow down! what's wrong?" He asked as he glanced to Lonan, then looked to the door as he sensed another presence.
Danika gasped as she watched the wolf make a portal and walk through it. She ran to the spot as it closed behind him and held a hand out where it disappeared. She looked about with wide eyes before taking a deep breath and pushing on the heavy wooden door, stepping inside the warm building. She let the door close and stood in the large room, fidgeting. |
Oni's mind registered Ti amongst all the others that were there. He half stopped and half ran into the wall. He didn't care but his heart rate was going fast as the fear kept hold. He had been alone for the run and now there were too many. He went straight for Ti and hide behind him all the while clinging frantically to him.
~Thank you! I would like some, I've been trying to hunt, but there isn't very much around here.~ He sat down, wagging his tail before noticing that the door had opened and Oni had run into Ti. He looked over his shoulder, seeing the woman from last night. ~She can't hear me...~ He sounded a bit sad.
Lukas disoriented, stood noting he was alone in the room. He got dressed in a silver button up shirt and black pants. He made his way down to the bar and poured himself a cup of coffee waving to the people in the kitchen
Ti frowned and turned to face Oni, holding the boy's shoulders. "Oni.... It's ok, I'm here. What's wrong?" He let the boy cling to him as he calmed down a bit, his lungs heaving and his heart pounding. He watched the purple-haired boy with worry.
Arina was a bit sad when his touch left but dismissed the feeling watching Oni run in and behind Ti. "Something wrong?" she asked before noticing another in the room. "The people here just keep multiplying..." She said shaking her head. "I'm going to have to make something more this roast won't feed all of us now." She said shaking her head and thinking a moment before going back into the meat cooler. She brought out a rather large ham and set it on the counter. "I suppose, Roast, and ham... that should be enough..." she started towards the fridge and grabbed a pineapple and then to the cupboared to get stuff to make a glaze.
Oni pulled hard on the mental tie they shared testing it once again but not gently. He had not been able to get through and now wondered if it had been severed. It felt like it was in tact. He huddled against Ti as his heart slowed down a bit. He wanted to answer Ti but now it seemed silly. He knew he shouldn't be afraid but he still was. He simply said in a very small voice, "nothing I'm ok."
When Lukas came in Oni shuffled carefully over to him. He now clung to him and buried his face in the man's chest. He said very quietly, "I'm hungry." |
Lukas wrapped his arm around Oni and kissed his forehead. "From the looks of it, if you can wait just a little bit Arina is making food, or do you want something right now? I could make some oatmeal, though it's the only thing I could think to make quickly" He offered.
Lonan stood up, slowly walking over to the new woman and trying not to show how uncomfortable her presence made him. He sniffed the air around her, trying to figure out what she was, but he had no experiences to compare her to. ~Ti, what is she?~
Ti frowned again as Oni tugged on the link, but then told him it was nothing. He wanted to press the question further, but let him go as Lukas entered the kitchen. He shuffled past the two and made his way out to the bar. It was then he noticed the woman from the night before standing at the door. "Hello again, I hope I didn't scare you off last night." He said as he reached below the counter for his rum. ~ A large cat, I'm not sure what kind yet though.~ He sent to Lonan as he watched her.
Danika jumped a bit as the tall man spoke, she had been admiring the decor again. "Ah- er...." She looked to the big dog sniffing about her. " It is alright... I was... um..." She tripped over her words again and figeted in place. She breathed deep and scolded herself before looked back up to him. "I was caring for things before I choose to stay at this Inn." She said, furrowing her brow as the words came out. This language was so hard! |
Oni looked up at Lukas and said softly, "Can I eat right now? I'm really hungry Lukas." His stomach let out another growl. He was pretty sure that what ever he ate now would hold him over till he could really eat what Arina was making. Oatmeal really wasn't his thing but at the moment he was willing to eat anything.
"I don't see why not... Maybe we have some cereal around here that you'd like." He suggested opening the cupboards and pulled out some coco puffs." Ah I bet you'd like these. " He said filling the bowl and going to the fridge for some milk. He came back poured some in and set the bowl down on the table with a spoon. "Eat up Oni" He said sitting in the chair next to the place he'd set the food and sipped at his coffee.
Lonan tilted his head to one side as the woman spoke. The words sounded different, but he could still understand them as the language everyone he had met spoke. ~What's wrong with her voice? She sounds odd.~ He edged a bit closer to her, sniffing one leg a bit above the knee. ~Will she tell us her name?~
Arina made a glaze for the ham and threw it in the oven, she watched Ti move to the other room and listened to the new woman stutter. She moved and leaned in the doorway watching the ones in the other room. She wondered what the lady was, noting she was not normal, though who here ever was.
Oni's eyes lit up a bit when Lukas pulled out the sugary cold cereal instead of the oatmeal. He sat down, scooting his seat a bit closer to Lukas. He was about half way through the bowl when he began to choke. He normally ate fast but due to being so hungry he was eating at an even quicker speed.
Lukas leaned over patting his back a bit harder than gentle to dislodge the food to check if he'd need to preform a different maneuver and shook his head. "Slow down, silly, no ones going to steal it from you or anything."
Once he could breath again he looked sheepishly over to Lukas. "S-sorry I'll go slower," he said softly to him. He finished the rest of his cereal without incident. It helped to curb his hunger till the other meal finished. Now that he was done he got up and sat on the floor. He scooted over till he was leaning against one of Lukas' legs.
Ti chuckled quietly ~She is from a country called Russia. Her voice sounds different because she has an accent.~ He glanced to Arina as she stayed in the doorway then looked back to the woman. "Well, the owner of this Inn is right here, I'm sure we have more than enough room for you." He said with a friendly smile. He might not like being social, but he can pull it off if he has to.
Danika reached one clawed hand down to scratch gently behind the big dogs ears and blushed. "Th-Thank you. I am happy to be hearing that. Where is the owner? I am wishing to stay for a while." Her heart beat a bit faster as she looked to the tall man again. He wasn't so much handsome as he was... pretty. His features were masculine, yet thin and streamlined in a soft way. She looked to the floor and shifted a bit, the bag at her hip feeling heavy. |
Lonan twitched, then leaned into the woman's hand. It felt good, and he started to relax, wagging his tail a bit. ~Okay. Do people have different ways of speaking? I've only heard one way, and wolves all speak the same. That is a simpler language, though. Harder to lie...~
Arina blushed a bit "I'm the owner liebling." she said standing straight from the doorway. She smiled softly and bowed her head in a light greeting. "I'm guessing you're in want of a room or somehing." She added heading to the drawer where she kept the keys.
Danika raised her head again as a woman spoke. Her eyes went wide as she took in the woman's beauty. "I-- Um.... Dyah... I mean, Yes. I am wanting a room here." She stuttered as her blush deepened. So many beautiful creatures here! She studied the odd tone to the woman's skin, her long hair and delicate features. This must be the type of heaven humans talk about, for surely these amazing people are angels!
Ti watched the woman as she stared at Arina and felt a low pang of jealousy. He shook his head and opened the bottle in his hand, answering the wolf. "People who come from different countries usually speak a different language. The one we all speak for the most part here is called English.~ He took a swig of the amber liquid and smiled as the burn slid down his throat. |
"Alright darling, here is your room key, and I'd like you to sighn right here for me." She said holding out the key and the pen over the empty place in her book. [which room do we want to give her? just curious.] "My name is Arina, so, if you have any questions you can ask me." She said with a smile and another bow of her head. She looked at Ti a moment then back to the woman. "He said you're from Russia? I haven't been that far, though I hear there are some very beautiful sights there."
~English. How many languages are there? Could I learn them? Wait, I can't speak them... Is my voice affected by language?~ Lonan trotted over to Ti, setting his front paws on the bar to get closer to eye level.
((Tal's old room?)) |
Lukas ran his hand through Oni's hair. "I could use a bath, we could do that." He suggested and finished his coffee, "Would you like to go get it ready? I'll be right there."
