“Ebony would like that…she loves sweets so much…” Rain answered, sipping her coffee a moment. She glanced to the fairy raising an eyebrow a moment. “Do apples even grow near here? Silly fairy.” She remarked, shaking her head but smiling softly.

Oni followed after Lukas as they went through the house. "This place is pretty big. Did you grow up here?" he asked with real interest wanting to know more about his new found friend. He liked houses they just seemed friendly than were he and Xanic had grown up.

((the house is being over run by things with a sweet tooth))

"Apples grow everywhere silly. but i'm sure I saw a couple of apple trees somewhere in the garden. they have all kinda of fruits out there, and it's just time for apples to rippen and be picked. " She rubbed her hands together "And I know when they are ripe and crisp and ready to make pie with."

Lukas nodded "Me, Arina, mom, and Dad all lived in this house, it belonged to my fathers family, it's why the halls and everything are so big. Dragons take up a lot of room and such." He said as they turned down another hall and started going up a spiral stair case. "Ah these are the stairs to where we're going." He said "at least they seem like them" he laughed "It's a place easy to get lost in, that's for sure."

"Wow. So you all lived here together? That seems really nice. Did you know your grandparents?" he asked with curiosity. Having parents, grandparent and all that seemed so foreign to Oni.

The moment Oni saw the stair case he fell in love with it. As he followed him up he grabbed bit of the back of Lukas' shirt and smiled telling him, "So I don't get lost."

"Well, no. They didn't take to kindly to us being... halflings." He said and shrugged "I just think they were afraid." he added and laughed "I was known for causeing trouble, and usually dragged Arina into it with me." He laughed. When he felt oni grab on he just nodded. "Fine with me, we wouldn't want that to happen." As they reached the top of the stairs there was a door, Lukas pushed it open to reveal the attic. "Lots of old junk" he said making his way through and started looking through old trunks, till he found something he was looking for. "Well, this should fit." He said pulling out a dark purple button up shirt, the sleeves were ruffled and there was a ruffly thing up near the neck, he then pulled out a pair of black dress pants and a black dress vest and handed them all to Oni. "It may be a smidge big, but it will have to do."

Arina finished up in the shower and dried her hair before dressing to save from getting the clothes wet. She put on the gold and black dress and the gold ballet type shoes then the gold mini hat trimmed in black lace. She walked out to the room looking around a moment before heading back down the stairs.

"Why would if matter if you were halflings. Family is family. What were they afraid of?" he asked. Lukas was so nice he didn't understand why someone would be afraid of him.

When they got to the attic Oni's eyes light up like Christmas and he stated, "It's like fining pirate treasure. Wow, there is so much stuff up here!" It took a lot for him not to just start rifling through stuff. He let Lukas go through the trunks but Oni enjoyed seeing all the different things they held. Finally Lukas pulled out a purple and black outfit. Oni smiled and said,"Oooh I love it! You even found our colors! It's okay if it's big. I don't mind."

Lukas smiled and nodded "Well, My mom was a fan of the style so i know there are all sorts of that outfit in different colors in this trunk, but, before you put that on, you're going to have to bathe." Lukas saidclosing the trunk and though it was big, he easily slung it up on his shoulder. "I'll put this in your room just in case."

Since Lukas didn't answer his question Oni figured he probably didn't want to talk about it so Oni let it drop.

Oni laughed saying, "I like it though I bet brother will hate it. I know and I'll go fast too so I can try this on right away." He watched Lukas still amazed at how strong he was. He asked, "You sure it's okay to let us borrow all this?"

"Well, it's got no other use. It's been sitting up here since I was well, younger than you..." He said "So why not. There may be some.. less flashy things in here as well, she couldn't force me to wear these all the time either, but i dunno. She may have thrown those clothes out hah. " He went and opened the door for Oni to go through.

"Thanks Lukas this means a lot to me," he said honestly. Oni went out ahead of him and followed the path they had just taken. He made sure to look over his shoulder ever now and again to make sure Lukas was still behind him. He opened the door to his bedroom so Lukas could put the trunk inside.

Lukas kept up with Oni easily, and set the trunk in an empty space in the room. "No worries, like I said, they're no use to me anymore, and you'd put them to better use wearing them than letting them sit up in that attic much longer. So, you know the bath house is right down the hall right? I can show you there if you need it and all, but it is labled and such so you shold be able to find it."

Oni wanted Lukas to show him for no other reason than having him near. However Oni didn't want to seem like a bother so he said, "It's okay. Besides if I get lost brother with help. Um but. . is there bath stuff we could use that's all ready in there? We don't have any."

Lukas had to think about that. "Well, I'm not sure. I suppose there would be. Considering how much of a germ freak Arina is. Well, I guess I'll go to look and if there isn't I'll get some soap and shampoo from my room for ya. I know there's at least towels in there. but there should be the basics too. I mean, what kind of inn would it be not to have at least soap and shampoo right?"

Oni let out a somewhat forced laugh saying, "Yeah I suppose your right." He was glad Lukas was going to walk the rest of the way there with him but he was starting to feel a little foolish. Oni sometimes wished he was smarter about things. They had never gone to school. In fact Oni couldn't read or write at all. Xanic could a little but just barely enough to get by. It wasn't until they had received their fake IDs that they new what their names looked like written out. Oni really hoped he could hide this from Lukas because it made him ashamed.

Lukas started heading down the hallway towards the bath house. "So, uh, Oni, anything you like to do.? Hobbies and such?" Lukas asked, he again reached a point where small talk came up, and, we all know Lukas sucks at small talk.

"I like drawing and watching movies but not the ones that have no color. What's a hobby?" he replied to him. He grabbed on to Lukas' hand as they walked toward the bathing area.

Arina leaned against the bar. She let out a soft sigh. It was so quiet today. Her mind kept wandering back to Ti. At least now, if he was around, she looked presentable... maybe this time she'd get a real kiss, and not something where some stupid rock made it impossible for their lips to touch. She smiled slightly at the thought of it. "If only..." she said dreamily.

"Well those sound like great things. And I'm not surprised, most of the black and white movies are kind of corny. There's some good ones though. A hobby, is something you like to do, it just is easier to say, being one word, instead of like three." He explained. As they reached the door labled "Bath House" he pushed it open "Here we are." he said walking inside. On the shelf next to the door held baskets, in the basket there was a large towel, a wash cloth, a small bar of soap, and a small bottle of shampoo, and a card saying when finished throw empty bottle out and put towel down shoot. "Well, looks like they have everything. " he said grabbing down one of the baskets and handing it to Oni. "I'll be back near the kitchen when you're done."

After Arina had brushed her hair and went to go find something to eat, Ti had stumbled to his room to lay down, He'd gone too long without actual sleep. He stripped down to just his pants as usual, knife in hand as he fell into a half-sleep state, tossing and turning, mumbling in his nightmare-plagued state. In his mind, he kept trying to wake up, but the terrors kept drawing him back in. His energy flexed and his hand clenched his knife with white knuckles.

"Oh okay, I will remember that," Oni said happy to learn something new. He took the basket from Lukas and replied, "Okay I'll be there as soon as I'm finished getting cleaned up." Once Lukas left Oni noticed went into the bath. He set the basket down and started going through it when he found the small card. He got a little worried and said, "Xanic you gotta come out and help me."

Xanic, rather unwilling, surfaced and asked, "What is it?"

Oni held up the card and said, "What's it say? It was in the bath basket. What if it's important?"

Xanic looked at it and concentrated, " I think it talks about something down. . . ." He was getting frustrated. He wasn't until they had been allowed to wander on the outside world did he realize that their studies and tests were not the same as normal kids. Apparently the facility didn't think they needed to read. They had studied math though which Xanic was extremely grateful for but even then it was only basics.

A little while before they were allowed to leave the director had made sure they could sign their names at least. They had also been allowed to learn the alphabet and some 'important' words like danger, stop, hotel, toilet and so on. Oni had a difficult time with both math and reading. He just couldn't seem to remember. Xanic's skills at math were decent but his reading/writing skills weren't much better than Oni's.

Giving up he said, "Don't worry about it. If someone asked why you didn't do what was on the card just say you didn't see it okay."

Oni decided that was a good idea and took his bath. Once he was done he put the stuff back in the basket and took it to their room. Excitedly he put on the clothes, not noticing he had buttoned it wrong missing one of the middle buttons. He ran down to the kitchen to show everyone.

(( you know I think Arina doesn't even know about Oni and Xanic being two peeps in one bod, lol. I think Oni introduced himself to you and then all the drama happened, then you were stone. :P ))

Arina heard the shuffling in the hall, as Ti moved to his room. She would think he had been tired.. She couldn't seem to sleep though. Too many things were running through her mind. She sipped at her cup of tea, her other hand playing with the hem of the black part of her dress.

Lukas was sitting at the bar with his pot of coffee. He sipped what was left in the cup and refilled it waiting for Oni to get back from the bath. When he entered the room howver... Lukas couldn't help but shake his head and laugh a little. He got out of his seat and walked over "You did great kid, until you got to about right here." Lukas said, leaning over and fixing the buttons. "There, it looks a lot better on you than it ever looked on me kid."

Oni laughed and watched as Lukas fixed his button and said, "Yeah I guess I was just really excited." Once it was all done properly Oni spun around and then pulled at some of the ruffles saying, "I really like it. It kind of like a costume. Like some of the stuff they wear in the colorless movies." He gave Lukas a big hug, looked up at him smiling and said, "Thanks so much!"
