Kimmora hid in her tree house shocked as to what happened she thought to herself [I]'the zoo is going to kill him that boy will die'/I] she closed her eyes trying to sleep but couldn't she just there and listened to the creature cry and scream she breathed in slowly fearing for the zoo keepers that would be dumb enough to cross him

Conrad could believe what was happening...this guy...really? Shakily, Conrad stood up. "Stupid!" He shouted across the zoo, voice a bit croaky. "You make more trouble for us! Sit down and quiet!" He went off cussing and stomping around his exhibit, face flushed from his cold. He finally calmed down and glared angrily out the bars at the one making all the ruckus...'Did...I make any sense???' he wondered...

Sienna smiled half-heartedly. "Oh," she said in a monotone, "So this is like some freaky werewolf movie... only we're human at night instead of during the day, and we transform every day. Guess I should look ofrward to the life of exclusivity..."
She sighed, her soul feeling crushed. It was a twelve-hour journey from this zoo to her home-town, she guessed; were there even twelve hours of darkness in which she could travel? What would her mother say when she rocked up in fifty or so years time when she was finally put back to normal? Because she would get back to normal - she wouldn't allow herself to stay this way.
Sienna glanced up to see if the waiter was coming back yet; he was taking his time. She wondered again what time it was; if what Adrian said was true, then they'd probably have to start heading back toward the zoo about an hour before the sun rose. What time did the sun rise around here? Questions buzzed around her head like flies. No, bees; some of the questions stung. No, hornets; those questions stung her again and again.
"Oh," Sienna said, in delayed reaction to Adrian's comments on her animal form. "Yeah... I'm pretty sure I was some kind of wolf. My paws were freakin' huge." She tried to smile at her own black humor, but it didn't really stick. Oh well. "I suppose it would be hard for me to hide all that much, huh... maybe I could hang out in the sewers or something."
She could tell that she was going to lose this discussion; the others like her, whom she assumed were a lot more than just she and Adrian, would have tried everything in their power to get away from the place in which they were confined. Why would she, a kid, get an idea bigger than all the rest of thiers put together? Impossible. Unthinkable.
She sighed drearily, and started rolling a lock of her auburn hair between her index finger and thumb. She hoped the waiter would return soon.

He frowned. He recognized that look. Well, on other people. That defeated look. But he knew better.
'She isn't defeated. We aren't. Not if we keep fighting. It's not loss. Not completely. Admitting momentary defeat. Setback. A kink in the works. Yes. We won't be put down like timid animals. Fight tooth and nail. That's the spirit.'
A strange grin spread across his face as his little internal monologue bantered around in his head. The pyramid began to slope. As he put another creamer at the top, it teetered, tottered, and came crashing down, taking half of the pyramid with it in a landslide. It brought him back to the situation and his grin melted away, replaced by slight disappointment. Bugger. He'd almost gotten it perfect. Glancing up, he tried to catch the girl's eye. He wasn't one to take down a person's hope without replacing it. If the first dream was unrealistic, he gave them a more realistic one. If the first plan was flawed, he took it apart and put it back together until it worked. Until there was hope again.
"Look, we have to look at our advantages..." he started, his face set, determined.
"Oooo, Adrian has his serious eyes on. She's a little young for you though, innit she?"
The waiter was back with their drinks, grinning mischieviously at the young man, who looked positively murderous. He let his gaze slide to the girl and winked, setting their drinks down in front of them.
"Don't worry though. There are plenty of guys out there who aren't old codgers like Adrian."
Before either could dignify such remarks with answers or seething silence, he twirled around and headed back to the kitchen, tossing a few words over his shoulder in a singsong voice.
"Food should be up soon! Behave you two!"

Paul frowned at the side of his mouth after being kicked out of a bar. "Nice people eh?..." he said to himself tiredly. the young boy tried all over to get people to believe that he was a freak and it was the zoo's fault but no one really would ever believe that.
Rubbing his sore arm Paul tried to recall just what happened. "Well lets see, yesterday some people kidnapped me, I was in a creepy white room and was injected with some sort of needle... Then I remember I was forced into some cage... I had paws and a tail but I never really figured out what exactly they turned me into...some sort of cat?" Paul snorted at the last sentance even though he didn't find it funny at all.
Paul pulled down his hat and stood up walking down the sidewalk. The boy was shoved around the sea of people, the smell of sweaty disgusting people filled his nose and he scorned in displeasure. The noise and smell of the people were irritating him so much that he couldn't stand it anymore. Paul turned into a unknown alleyway to get away from the crowd.
Stilled stressed from all the things going on he slumped against the alleyway wall and fell to his butt. "maybe if I just take a nice nap this nightmare will go away..." Paul said narrowing his eyes and finally closing them listening to the beeps and shouts from the city.

Sienna jumped as one of the sliding creamers bounced into her lap; she'd been off in her own world, thinking about everything...
She looked up at Adrian, and almost jumped again at how serious he looked.
"Look, we have to look at our advantages..."
Advantages? What advantages?! She almost sent the young waiter a death glare, but she held herself back. But she almost couldn't at his remarks. She opened her mouth to snap something at him, but he danced away like an over-confident pup.
She remained silent, her death glare finally surfacing. She sighed, but this time it was a sigh of frustration. She grabbed her drink and started gulping huge mouthfuls; this was no time to be down in the dumps.
"So, what advantages?" She asked Adrian, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

Rubbing his temple, he waited for the waiter to be out of sight before continuing, collecting the creamers that had tumbled away and restacking them.
"Well, for one, we do become animals. And for some, like you, that form is much stronger than your human form. If there ever came a need for revolution, you could do some serious damage. Never underestimate the fury of caged animals."
He was building the first level with careful precision as he spoke, very focused. He would occasionally glance up at her and make eye contact before continuing.
"Also, even beasts of lesser strength like myself can come in handy. I can filch keys, slip into smaller spaces, go about mostly unnoticed. Some of us can take aerial form. Some, like the elephants, have brute force on their side."
He was stacking up the second and third layers now, glancing at the door the waiter had gone through. Still not back. Good.
"And unlike other wild animals, we have sentience. We have presence of mind. We can organize and plan. If the other animals could do that, I bet they wouldn't be stuck in those cages."
He had stacked a fourth layer and was putting a single cup at the top. He began work on building the reverse pyramid on top.
"And our biggest advantage. We were human once. We have the knowledge of human things. We know how they think, roughly, better than any animal. And we have our crafts. Betcha someone might know a thing or two about popping doors. Someone might know somethin about security. We've got a wealth of information. And whatever we don't know? We can find out. We can walk about at night and get what we need. So maybe we can't escape tonight, just like that. But we can start planning. Hell, if we tried hard enough, I can bet you we could take the place down."
As if some cosmic force deigned it necessary for emphasis, the pyramid tumbled, scattering cups of cream all over the table. He chuckled at the coincidence.
"But let's just focus on one thing at a time. First we gotta get these chips out. That's gonna take reconnaissance. We're going to have to get into their files. We're gonna need to know how many, where, and how to take them out without hurting ourselves."

Sienna listened to Adrian's thoughts; he must have had a lot of time to think through all that, she thought fairly. And he was right about that bigger-animals-have-more-strangth thing; she could feel that power, the energy, flowing through her lengthened muscles just hours before this moment. She could harness that flow of energy, transform it into a lethal weapon in the form of ripping fangs and scratching claws. She could win...
"You know what?" Sienna said after a pause. "I think you're right. About all of that. Everything. Just one thing..." She wasn't really sure if she should ask, but it was too late now. She took a breath before continuing. "What about after all that? There's still the thing about being caught and forced back into some kind of lab... then there's still the trackers they probably have in us, as well as the shocker. With all that crap still out there - and in us - would we even feel free after getting out of the cages? Like now; we're basically free, and yet we still feel completely captive."
Sienna poked one of the creamers that had skidded across the table, looking at Adrian as she waited for his response.

((If you can't think of a way back in, just wait until you do. There's really not much else you can do.))
He thought for a moment, tapping his chin.
"Well....if we get into their files...we could find something. Something about what they did to us. Maybe a way to reverse it. Find whether or not they can actually electrocute us. Because you know, it's possible they are lying. Maybe there isn't a chip. Maybe they just spread the rumor to keep us in line. And you know what? It works. Our fear outweighs our curiosity. We wouldn't risk being wrong and dyin for it; nobody's gonna volunteer to find out. Could be purely psychological."
He started picking up the creamers, putting them back where he got them. He glanced up as the waiter began walking up, holding two big plates of food. He set the chicken burger and fries down in front of her and a steak in front of him. His mouth began to water.
"Thanks man."
His eyes found Sienna's and he smiled.
"Time to dig in."

Sienna didn't have to be told twice.
She grabbed the burger, bigger than she'd expected but whole-heartedly welcomed, and took a huge bite that had appeared to be beyond her mouth's capacity.
Oh well, she thought to herself. If everything really is just psychological, someone has to find out. If it's not, that someone could be killed. Who would risk their life to find out...?
According to Adrian that person was non-existent. But if that were the case, then none of the other things Adrian had said would come to pass. They'd never be able to escape. Sienna frowned, and gulped down another couple of bites before continuing her internal monologue.
If there was someone who was willing to risk it all over a fable... would that make that person suicidal? No, she didn't think so - there was a fifty-fifty chance that the person would survive. That they'd find out there was no shocker in them. That they'd live to see a sunrise through human eyes again...
Was it so rash that Sienna thought that she might like to try it out?
