Kimmora exited the theater when the movie ended as she tossed her garbage in the nearest wast bin she saw the boys again and they were looking at her she looked back and bluntly said "it's not nice to stare" she felt uncomfortable even if her tail was hidden.
Kimmora laughed when the boys heard her speak and quickly looked away 'i think i will toy with them for a bit it's only fair' she thought she walked passed them and winked at who seemed to hold the most influence

Conrad snoozed comfortably in his coat, fingers tightening around the clasp.

(EEK!!! I'm so sorry I haven't been posting!!! *bows deeply to Kyries* Sorrysorrysorry... I hadn't realised I only had a few MB of download left on my internet and I watched an episode of a series I'm watching... so then I had to wait until my internet re-started, which took longer than I expected! I'm so sorry for holding everyone up!! ToT)

Sienna was surprised by the man's gesture. Quite unexpected. But she really couldn't tell what he was thinking. She had the inkling feeling that he may still be lying, but... something about him made her want to believe him. She didn't know why, but he just had this look about him. Definitely strange.

"I... suppose..." Sienna said slowly. What was with this guy? She'd blurted out her strange predicament to the first person - normal person - she'd met. She had ears and a tail. She obviously wasn't normal herself. So why was he trying to help her? She'd seen tons of movies and red a hundred books about people who were werewolves and vampires and mutants. The mutants were always the feared, bad guys. Why, in real life, would it be the polar opposite?

Unsure of what to do next, Sienna frowned. What was she supposed to do? Another braver person might have lurched forward and grabbed his hand, and someone weaker than her would probably have broke down into wracking sobs. Sienna was in the middle.

"Um... so, who'd you say you were?" She tried to say it in a way that made the man understand that she trusted him - or, at least, that she wasn't scared out of her wits of him.

His face softened at her hesitation and he lowered his hand, taking a few tentative steps forward instead. It didn't require contact, but it kept him close to her, in case something should happen. If anyone walked past, he could conceal her tiny frame behind his. Even with her ears and tail, she would be easily hidden.

His eyes moved around them in a quick half circle, scanning the area for any stragglers or guards. Sometimes they would chase them out. They didn't like for them to hang around the zoo when they were out of their cages. He supposed the guards would assume they were trying to sneak into the labs. It wasn't a terrible idea, but it was hard to pull off, and most of the others were too afraid to try it.

When she posed her question, he drew his eyes back to her face, smiling softly. Well, she wasn't running from him, so that was good.

"I'm Adrian," he said softly, taking care to keep his voice low so it wouldn't carry.

"I was....sneaking in," he admitted with a shrug of his shoulders, "I'm kind of old for juvenile stuff like that but I dunno. Always wanted to break in to a public place, at least once. Kinda glad I did now."

It wasn't entirely untrue. He hadn't snuck in, but he had always wanted to break into a public place, before everything had changed. And he was glad he had found her before the guards.

He offered her a warm smile and held his hand out one more time, this time in the form of a handshake.

"What about you? Got a name?"

The girl blinked. Glad? Did he mean he was glad he'd managed to pull off the feat, or that he was glad to have met her...? Woah, girl, she thought to herself, obviously he was glad to get in.

Sienna's eyes flickered from Adrian's face to his outstretched hand, then back again. A handshake. Seemed normal enough, right? She stretched out her own hand, hesitated, then gripped Adrian's firmly.

"Yeah," she said quietly. "I'm Sienna."

She stood there awkwardly, her hand still in Adrian's much larger one. "So..."

He smiled at her firm grip. She didn't seem so afraid now. Progress. He shook her hand and smiled, then loosened his grip, letting her let go if she wanted to.

"Sienna, it's nice to meet you. Come on, let's get out of here. I wasn't kidding about those guards. You don't know what they might do if they catch us. Hey, you hungry? I could get us some food. There's a good burger joint on the corner down the street. What do you think?"

He smiled encouragingly. She had to be hungry. He didn't touch his food, so his stomach growled loudly as he thought about the aforementioned burgers. He chuckled slightly.

"My stomach agrees, the burgers are delicious. Er, they have vegan stuff too, if that's how you roll, you know," he added, grimacing slightly at his negligence. He kept forgetting, some people don't eat meat.

He waited patiently for her reply. He didn't want to push her into anything that made her uncomfortable, but he did want to get them both out of there quickly. Maybe the prospect of food would coax her feet forward.

Sienna dropped her hand. "Burgers? I'd love to!" She said eagerly. Then she remembered she was meant to be upset about her situation. But it was hard to repress the hunger clawing at her stomach; it seemed like ages since she'd last eaten. When was that, anyway?

"I mean... sure," she muttered, re-arranging her words to make her sound a little more care-free. No way was she going to act like that in front of someone she'd met only five minutes before.

She turned away from Adrian, and started to head for the place she knew was the front gate. She didn't really mind if the man didn't follow; it would probably be better off for him if he didn't, she reminded herself rationally. Wouldn't it be bad if these keeper people caught a normal human with someone like her? Besides, she desperately wanted to get away from the zoo. Even if she couldn't return to her firneds or family or home, she would at least get away from this hell hole.

Still, she glanced over her shoulder, just to check if the mysterious Adrian was coming along too.

Chuckling at her enthusiasm, he caught up with her, sticking close by. His eyes were sharp, watching for the warning sign of flashlights, listening for the click of the guards' shoes on the concrete. So far so good.

"So, are you a local or do you live outside of the city?" he asked conversationally, glancing down at the young woman. They hadn't given her much in the way of clothes. She must be cold. Maybe if she didn't mind, they'd hit a store after burgers and get her a proper coat. Maybe one with a hood, if she favored being anonymous. Either way, she seemed a little more at ease now.

He had gotten lucky in that respect. He had no tell-tale ears, and his tail was easily hidden. He wondered if she would be able to hide her features beneath a coat. Would it still give her away? Would she be able to feel normal again? He frowned, heavy thoughts plaguing his mind. Then it occurred to him that he was a complete stranger to this girl. She couldn't have been more than fifteen. Asking where she lived was a little strange, so he hastily changed the subject.

"Anyways, so you're a burger fan, hm? You'll love this place, best burgers in the whole city, in my opinion. Big side of fries, soda, the works. It's really good. They've got good shakes there too, you know. Or maybe you're more of a smoothie girl?"

He grinned at her and he had to admit, he felt a little more at ease too. He had never bothered to get to know any of the others. This could be good for him.

Conrad awoke a short time after he fell asleep to the sound of soft voices. He peeled one eye open to look at who it was and blinked. Was that guy normal? He was with one of the fused children-a eerily young one- but he didn't have anything indicating him to be one as well...that was just....odd...

He wiggled forward toward the entrance of his den, coat clenched around himself, and poked his head out, ears up and eagerly listening. He sniffled and sneezed, but the sniffle confirmed something...."What a strange person." he mumbled aloud. "Not so much as an extra whisker but he's in the same boat as the rest of us..."

Kimmora ran out of the theater so the boys wouldnt see her once she turned a corner she stopped and looked at her watch "i should get back" she ran into the zoo and back to her pen "ah home" she said sarcasticly but with a hint of comfort knowing she would not be in any trouble

Hardly thinking straight, Sienna opened her mouth to answer Adrian's first question; luckily he cut her off. She blinked, then slightly shook her head. Stupid! Get a grip, dammit!

She glanced at Adiran from the corner of her eye, and smiled slightly. "Sounds pretty good," she admitted. Actually, it sounded like she'd died and was heading for heaven. So much fat-filled greasy things was definitely something she needed.

"Hmm... I suppose I'm good with either," Sienna replied. "What about you? You seem to be like a smoothie guy." Strange thing to say. Oh well.

Just as she made her statement, Sienna felt her spine prickle. She glanced over her shoulder again. Was there someone there? She'd had the same feeling on the night she'd been taken away. She shivered, and not just from the cold.

Paranoid. So paranoid. There was no one here. Just her and Adrian. Those Keeper people would be fast asleep by now. She turned back, and waited for Adrian to reply as if she hadn't noticed anything.

The two had passed but now Conrad was wide awake...and cold...again...He climbed out of his den and pulled his arms inside the coat and ducked his head inside as well. He felt very much like a turtle...though he could pull his ears inside, instead the stuck out and twitched in the cold. He wondered what the Good Doctor planned to do to keep them warm this winter....

"Am I that obvious?" he asked, grinning.

"You've got me pegged. I'm a smoothie fan. Strawberry Banana or Mango Berry for me. Both are really good, and they make 'em with real fruit."

He caught her small movement from the corner of his eye, but he kept quiet. She was bound to be nervous, especially in this place. New or not, it was not a place that induced warm, fuzzy feelings. The guards were cold and uncaring, the doctors were cruel and almost unhuman, and the visitors were oblivious. The only ones that could be trusted at all were the changed.

They were coming up on the front gate now. He grew very quiet, his steps silent on the walk as he looked for any signs of guards or people walking outside the gates. All seemed still. This was as good a time as any. Something resembling a normal night was just a few feet away.

"Sounds great," Sienna agreed distractedly. She scrambled to find something more to add, but nothing smart or interesting came to mind. Damn. She remained silent, and she thought she could see the place Adrian had been describing coming up; the time seemed to have passed incredibly fast. She glanced at her wrist, only to remember that her watch must have surely fallen off. She let her arm fall back to her side.

Sienna glanced at Adrian again, wondering what the strange man was thinking about. She wondered dazedly if he had a family; a wife and kids. Maybe. Lucky guy. She'd had the chance of all that taken away from her...

"Uh... so, apart from wanting glory for breaking into a public place in the dead of night... how come you chose the zoo to go to?" Sienna asked, desperately changing her internal subject from the painful train of thought.

"I thought it would amuse the animals," he said with a grin. It was painfully clear to him how ironic his statement was. As they came up on the building, a quaint place called "Hold the Sesame", his face visibly lit up in anticipation. He opened the door for her, the warmth of the atmosphere inside already piercing his dark thoughts.

It said a lot about his character that a simple thing like this could clear up his impending depression. Their situation was grim, at best, but moments like this could let them feel normal, and that feeling was precious. The place was quiet, but a few people were gathered at the counter and in the booths. The smells that washed over him almost melted him where he stood.

Leaning ever so slightly to the right, Sienna looked past Adrian and into the little burger place. Seeing the people, she added her ears and tail into the equation... and sighed.

"I changed my mind," Sienna said, trying to keep the depression out of her voice. "How about I just wait out here; I can manage..." As if responded to her distress, her ears pricked up straighter and her tail swished a few times. She winced; the feeling in her spine that she got whenever she moved the extra limb was really strange.

She just hoped she hadn't hurt Adrian's feelings at the refusal to go inside. She just didn't want to look like a huge freak in front of all those people (even though there weren't really all that many).
