"Nice seeing you again, Kite. And don't scare her away like you did everyone else." Simon said with a laugh. Kite shot him a look that could stop a rampaging elephant, then walked out of the teepee. Before Thea could leave, Simon tapped her on the shoulder and said "Look after him, will you? He isn't a strong as he thinks."

"I will make sure he stays safe." Thea told him. She then followed Kite out of the teepee. "You seem upset." she said to him.

"Ya, that's Simon for ya." Kite replied. Turning to Thea. "He has to be the oddest man I know." Kite looked around, the town was empty. "That's odd..." He said to himself.

"I have met odder men before...." Thea said to him. She also looked around the town. "Where did all the people go?" she asked.

Kite spotted smoke in the distance. "That can't be good." Kite said, starting into a run. A loud "pop" could be heard and he fell on his side. "Stupid leg." He said through clenched teeth, sitting up.

Thea was instantly at his side, crouching next to him. "Are you alright?" she asked, concerned. "Is there anything I could do to help?"

"Crap!" Kite yelled after another failed attempt to stand up. "That smoke, It's coming from my house!"

Thea helped him stand and took a tight grip on him. Then she ran to his house. It was almost as if she was flying. But her feet didn't leave the ground.

Kite wasn't prepared and was cut off guard. By the time they arived, Kite had dropped his walking stick and almost blacked out. When his eyes focussed enough, he looked on at the horrer in front of him. The house was on fire. "No." Kite said quietly, dropping to his knees. "It would appear you have some enemies, Kite." Said a familiar voice from behind them. Kite turned around. It was Simon.

Thea used her abilitly to control fire to but his house house. Then she turned to Simon. "How did you get here so fast?" she asked him.

"Even though I am human, I posess magical abilities. I trained Kite here, and you've seen what he can do." Simon said, wabling over to her. "Don't bother putting out the flames. There's an enchantment placed on them. They won't go out untill they've done thier job." He turned to kite, holding out the hunk of door frame that kite had used as a walking stick. "I beleive you dropped this?" Kite took the stick, standing himself up, but not without pain. "It isn't safe here, we must go back to my tent." Simon said, hobbling over towards the town entrance. "Where is everyone?" Kite asked in a tone he rarely liked to use. "They've been taken, by the vampires."

"What?! That isn't possible!" Thea exclaimed. "We do not do this to humans. We have no reason to hold people against their will....There is only one person I know who might do this. But I don't think he will." she said.

"Thea" Simon said. "A great man once told me that the best answer to any question is the simplest answer. It would appear that what you think is correct." Kite had walked off to the edge of the woods behind them and sat on a log. Simon walked over to him. "C'mon, my student, lets make you that tea you visited me for." He said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Thea, will you help me? I'm not as strong as I used to be."

"Of course I will help. But I do not believe that man could have done this." Thea said. "Unless....He was looking for me." she said, mainly to herself. She went over to them, ready to help.

"oh, he did it, alright" Simon replied. "I know because I taught him that very same magic."

Thea ignored that. "What do you need for me to do?" she asked.

"Take him back to my home." Simon turned and stared at the flames. "I'd do it myself, but I'm gettin old. I'll meet you there."

"Alright." Thea said. She helped Kite stand and helped him back to the shaman's home.

By the time they got there, Kite had broken out of a trance that seeing his house burning put him into. "I built that home myself...." He kept saying to himself. He wandered into the teepee and sat down on the ground, staring into space.
Join me! said a voice in his head.

Thea followed after him. She crouched in front of him. "Are you alright?" she asked.

Kite couldn't hear her. His thoughts were being consumed by the majic. JOIN ME! It yelled in his head, over and over. Kite clenched his eyes closed and shook his head violently. "No, no, NOOO!" He yelled, pulling at his hair, and the voice went quiet.

"Kite?! Calm down!" Thea exclaimed. She gripped his arms and stopped him from pulling out his hair.

"KITE! LISTEN TO ME!" boomed a voice behind the two. It was Simon, but he seemed different. He walked in front of Kite. It felt as if a gust of wind was blowing through the room, threatening to pull the teepee off the ground. "ASGRAMENTIUM!" Simon shouted, placing one finger on Kite's forehead. A loud ping noise could be heard and the wind stopped. Rings of light rippled from Simon's finger and Kite passed out. "That was close...." Simon said, out of breath.

"What did you do?! And what was wrong with him?!" Thea exclaimed.

Simon started to chuckle. "He's perfectly fine, for now, that is. I just made him fall asleep. He should wake up in a few minutes..." Simon walked over to a small, one burner stove with a tea kettle on it. "Could you hand me the paper I gave to kite, It's in his left pocket." Simon said, turning up the heat. "Might as well make the tea now, seeing how he doesn't have a stove to make it on."
