"You seem extremely quiet. But if you say so..." Kite leaned back and looked up to the sky.
"I'm always this quiet. It really bugs my brothers." Thea said.
"To tell the truth, it was actually scaring me a bit myself." Kite said, scratching the back of his head.
"I'm sorry. Didn't mean to." Thea said.
"No no, it isn't you. It's just that my town is usually very noisy..." Kite said, remembering all that had happened. "It's not any more though..."
"I'm sure those people will be just fine." Thea said, trying to reassure him.
Kite sat there for a few minutes. "Well, no point in moping around. We'd better get going. That is, unless you're not finished with the fish."
"I'm done." Thea said, setting down the remains of the fish and standing up.
"Ok, let's go then." Kite stood up, stretching. "We should find the town in about an hour or so." He said, picking up his pack and slinging it over his shoulder.
"Alright. Let's go." Thea said. She started walking again. But she stopped when she heard noises up. "Stay silent. There is someone up ahead." she told him.
((there we go! You're showing some initiative))
Kite instantly went into survival mode. He didn't hear a thing, but he guessed vampires had better hearing than humans. Still, he had his hand on his swords handle, the blade halfway drawn. |
Thea listened for noises ahead. Then she relaxed. "It's not humans. They are vampires. So they won't hurt us. Well....At least not me." she said.
Kite had his sword drawn. "Wow, really?" He said sarcastically. "So everything will be just fine and dandy." He said, ready for anything. "What, are they? Guards? Cause the last one nearly killed me."
Thea listened silently. Then she heard someonen that she knew. She started smiling. "There are a few guards. But they are only on patrol. And someone that I personally know."
"Here we go again." Kite said. He looked over at Thea. "Why are you smiling, I'm about to be torn apart, either that or I'll go berserk again."
"I'm smiling because it's my brother that is ahead. Him and his troops." Thea told him.
Kite still couldn't believe it. After all they just went through, it was going to end with him getting the crap beaten out of him and her returning to that god-awful castle, and she's smiling?! "What's taking them so long..." Kite said. "If I'm gonna be torn limb from limb, I want to get it over with."
"You are not going to be torn limb from limb. I won't let them hurt you. Besides, once I talk to Seth, he won't let the guards hurt you." Thea told him.
"Right, just like you talked to that guard from before." He said, keeping his guard up.
((when are they gonna get there?)) |
"For one, that guard was an idiot. And for two, my brother won't allow it if it would bother me." Thea told him.
{{My next post.}} |
Kite shook his head. She hadn't failed him before. He lowered his weapon, letting the end of the large blade fall to the ground with a thud. He held on to the handle, keeping his guard up.
Soon the troop of guards came into view. Thea pushed back her hood and stepped forward. The man in front made the guards stop as he looked at her.
"Thea?" he asked. "Hello Seth." she said. The man named Seth smiled and Thea came forward and hugged him. |
Kite noticed one of the guards eyeing him. "Don't even think about it" Kite said, lifting his blade off the ground and on to his shoulder with one arm. The guard immediately broke eyecontact.
"Thea. What are you going here? And with this human?" Seth asked.
"This man saved my life." Thea told him. Seth looked over at Kite. |
Kite bent his knees and dug his feet into the dirt, ready for an attack. He didn't say anything to the newcomer, he just knodded his head.
