"I'll be alright for a while yet," Allen replied. "I was going to see about finding something when I headed back to my apartment. You don't have to worry about anything." He grinned again. "Any more questions? I have all night."

With a smile, she shrugged just a bit and looked away. She felt like she was inconveniencing him. Just because she could.. And the only reason she had him here now was so obvious. She was surprised that he had yet to run in fear. Asta liked him.. And just his smile alone was making her heart flit around excitedly.

"I really don't have many questions..." Not any she would want to ask. "You can go.." She laughed nervously and looked down again. She tended to do that a lot.

"Do you want me to leave?" Allen asked. "I'll go if you want me to, Asta." He wasn't scaring her, was he? He'd been trying his best to seem non-threatening... Had he done something to frighten her?

She shook her head quite suddenly. "No! I don't.. I just.. I feel like I'm keeping you here for no reason.." And the only reason she really wanted him there was an absolutely foolish one; foolish to the point where telling him was definitely absurd. "I don't want you to be here if you don't wanna be, that's all." Asta looked at him with honest eyes, and she sighed, looking down once more. The habit reflected on her nerves.

"Then how about this?" Allen suggested. "I'll stay here until you fall asleep. That way, you're not making me leave, but I'm not forcing myself to my limit, either. We both win." Gently, he reached over and lifted Asta off the couch, being sure not to hurt her. Then he looked around and carried her to where her scent was the strongest in the apartment, taking her into her room. Carefully, he laid her down on her bed.

Asta liked his plan.. so much, but she felt herself blushing dramatically at him carrying her off to her bedroom. She definitely hadn't been expecting something like that to happen.
With a smile, she looked up to him from her perch on the bed, and rolled onto her stomach. Her face was still a little pink, but she was smiling at him, which was a good sign.
"Why thank you for the lift." She laughed a little bit, but then sighed, folding her arms beneath her body.
"You know, you don't have to stand there.. You can sit on the bed if you want."

Allen sat down.

"I didn't want to sit without your permission," he said. "It's your room, after all. My sister would gut me if she heard I had disrespected a girl's room. She'd castrate me if I disrespected a girl, come to think of it." He grinned. "You would probably like my sister."

She couldn't help but to laugh just a little bit. She couldn't help it, he was cute. His sister apparently had some thing for the rights of females too.
Asta rolled onto her back and looked at him, still smiling a little bit. She broke the gaze once she realized she was actually gazing, and looked away and down, crawling into her covers a bit. It was getting colder every night, which she hated with a passion.

Allen grinned when she laughed. She looked amazing when she smiled... He never wanted to see her without a smile on her face. He would do anything to keep it there.

"And knowing my sister, she would probably try to kick my ass for being dumb enough to let myself get turned," he added. "Because that's just how she is. And really, I couldn't ask for a better older sister."

His sister seemed like a fistful! Asta giggled once more, and her nose wrinkled in the light of real, genuine laughter. "How am I supposed to fall asleep if you keep making me laugh?" She was pouting sweetly at him, but soon enough she collapsed into a smile once more, and she pulled her blankets up to her neck, and held them there tightly.

Remembering what he was was hard, she was discovering, since she only just remembered when he mentioned being turned. Eh, she didn't mind it much.. He was no different than when they met, and she liked who she'd met before.

"You're beautiful when you smile, though,"Allen pointed out, as if it was something everyone should be able to see. "Smiling is better than frowning, right? But if you want me to be quiet so you can sleep, I will. Chances are, I'll be gone when you get up, though. If I'm not, then don't try to wake me, and be ready for Ana to leave a little 'gift' and a note." He rolled his eyes a bit. "She's good about that, apparently."

After 'you're beautiful' every other word melted away. He said that something about her was beautiful, and that was damn good enough for her. Pinkness spread across her cheeks, and it was clear that not one word of whatever else he'd said had sunk in. "Really...?" she asked suddenly, making a move to sit up. She looked so dazed. "You think I'm beautiful?" She was the kind who relished in compliments, but never fully believed them. She always thought someone else was better.

Allen got a kind of deer-in-the-headlights look. Was it something he said? Quickly, he thought back over his words. It must have been when he said she was beautiful. He nodded.

"I do think you're beautiful," he affirmed. And he knew, he'd seen beauty. After all, he'd seen Ana's face, hadn't he? And she was definitely pretty, so he figured he was a pretty good judge. And Asta was definitely high on the beauty scale.

There was the confirmation! Asta just smiled and looked down. There was nothing more that needed to be said other than the small "Thank you..", which could be heard muttered under her breath. She wasn't one for situations like this... she always got so nervous! And he would be able to tell that she was nervous, or excited now.. Dammit! What kinda ridiculous nonsense was that?!

Allen would see her blushing. She was becoming so tempting... Mentally smacking himself for his thoughts, he made a quick decision.

"Maybe I should go," he said softly. "Obviously, I've kept you from sleeping for too long, so I'll see you tomorrow night, alright?" This way, she'd stop tempting him, and he could let her sleep.

That crushed her excitement.

Asta looked down further if that were possible, and then shrugged lightly. When she looked up at him, there was a very weak smile on her face. "Yeah, that's.. fine.." She was disappointed. There was something that had changed his mind about him wanting to stay with her.. and the only thing she could think about was it being her fault. If it weren't for her being attracted to him, there would have been no problems, but as usual, she had to do something wrong. Well, not wrong, but wrong.

Allen could see the disappointment in her eyes. Red alert, red alert!

"Asta, really, it's not your fault," he hurried to reassure her. "I just figure it's best if you get some sleep, since I've been depriving you of it lately, and I probably shouldn't go too much longer without going out to find myself a meal, because I don't want to hurt you."

Well it was too late now to not hurt her! Hah, she'd been bruised enough as of late. She said nothing and curled up beneath her blankets once more, before this time hiding her face and head. "Whatever" she mumbled from beneath the thick covering. If he wanted to leave, then fine... she wouldn't care.

Allen sighed. How did he always manage to talk himself into these holes? Sighing, he stood up.

"I'll let you sleep, then. My door is always open if you'd like to stop by. Just make sure it's after dark," he said. Quietly, he left the room, shutting the door softly. Once he was in the hall, he leaned his head on the wall, thudding his forehead a few times. How could he be so stupid? Quickly, he headed out of the building, intent on a quick meal before he holed himself up in his apartment for the day.

Asta said nothing else after he left her bedroom, or at least said that he was leaving. She just breathed and closed her eyes. So another night was qualified as failure... Lovely.
The next day, and night she didn't come out of her house, and she lay in her bed, and her living room for a smaller amount of time, only to go right back into her dark bedroom. All of this stuff with Allen was stressing her out, and she was beginning to hate all of it.. All she'd wanted from the beginning was to somewhat be close to him, and now she got this.

Allen woke just after dark to the pounding sound of rain outside. The rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning told him that he wasn't going to be able to find anything to eat that night. Perhaps he would talk to Ana about it, maybe get her to share another one of those blood bags... Getting up, he stretched. His mood hadn't improved much since the night before. He was still mad at himself for upsetting Asta.

"Ugh," he said to himself, "why are girls so complicated?" Then the voice of his older sister suddenly drifted through his mind, reminding him of something she'd once said.

"Girls aren't complicated, Allen... I mean, how hard is it to give us chocolate and tell us we're pretty?"

Chocolate, hm...? Well, he didn't have chocolate, but he had access to an ancient female vampire with a seemingly limitless jewelry box. Going into the box of bracelets Ana had left for him, he sifted through them until he found one made of a copper-toned metal, polished to a shine and decorated with tiny gears and keys. He wasn't sure if Asta liked steampunk fashion, but he could damn well try to get back into her good graces.

Asta, in her own fit of retaliation, had taken off the bracelet that Allen had given her by now. She was going to be without him, no more visits and blushing and giggling, nope! Asta was going to leave him alone, tell him to leave her alone, and then find someone more suitable than a vampire. He couldn't possibly be the good thing for her anyway.

Asta lay the small bracelet down on her nightstand and then stepped off into her bathroom. She looked a mess considering she hadn't had a shower yet, and soon enough she stripped down and was washing in it, her hair, and all. Her hair was shampooed with a nice berry blend of something, and after long, she was all dried off and dressed in clean everythings, with nice, dry and smelling good hair.

Softly, Allen walked down the hall to Asta's apartment. He didn't know if she'd talk to him, but he had to try, right? He knocked on the door, hoping she would answer. When she didn't he tried again.

"Asta, please?" he called. "I know I'm an idiot for upsetting you, I know you probably want to castrate me with a rusty spoon, and I probably messed up big, but could I just talk to you for one second? Please?"

Asta didn't even make a move to get to her feet. She could hear Allen perfectly well, but she didn't want to speak to him, or even castrate him with a rusty spoon, because that just meant that she was going to have to see him and let him in her house.

She did however, roll onto her back, and look at her ceiling. "Go away!" Oh wait, no! She didn't mean for that to happen! She wasn't going to say anything! But.. oh well, it was too late and it got her thoughts across.

"Asta, c'mon, at least tell me what I did wrong!" Allen called back. "I'm not really good with this whole girl thing yet! At least let me try to fix it!" With a sigh, he sat down against the wall opposite of her door. He could spend the evening waiting for her to come out, at least... Hopefully, she would at least hear him out. There was no way he was going to ask Ana for help, or let her interfere. Last time that happened, Asta tried to ignore him.
