It was dark and cloudy on the morning Xander was walking to Feylen Hall,he had only one suitcase full of his belongings, he finally arrived at the giant wooden door and knocked just loud enough to be heard. Xander was very nervous because he hadnt made contact with anyone else in ages.

" ok then, lets go." james walked over to the doorway and waited for mela and alana." so alana, how long have you been a vampire, exactly? and i take it you dont like it much if at all?"

Lady Anabell Feylen made her way down the halls of Feylen Manor... Her unloved home of homes since she could only wish to remember when. As she heard a fist meet the oak wood work of the front door she sadly followed her lady as duty and walked to the door. "Hello and welcome to Feylen Manor. Please come in and have a drink." Her voice was soft, melodic and enchanting. She looked over this man and sighed sadly... she wasn't having a very pleasant day.

Mela stood up and began to follow James. She was going to make sure she stuck by him. When he started to ask Alana questions it made her realize how curious she was about both of them. How old was Alana? How old was James? How long had they lived like vampires? If they had indeed been human before what had they been like then? She was full of questions but still to unsure of herself to ask just yet.

Alana looked at him with her peircing green eyes.

"529 years ive been a vampire. I dont enjoy frightening humans. Ive spent my life looking for a cure. i dont want to be a wicked monster. Iwant to help people and make them happy. If I dont keep myself occupied I would have killed myself already. I hate seeing people run when they see me. I hate being thrown out of villiages. Its a terrible thing."

Mela was surprised that Alana had spent so many years as a vampire. I bet she has read many books. A silly thought perhaps but it was less depressing than thinking of what else this woman had gone through. Mela decided that if it was ever in her power she would help Alana. She said softly, "You're right, that is a terrible thing."

Alana looked at this quiet girl and smiled at her. She was so sweet. She gave her a quick hug. She knew she could trust her. Alana loved how humans took to her so easily.

Mela at first was a little shocked by the sudden hug but then she wrapped her arms around the vampire and hugged her back. The brief show of affection made Mela feel much better. It was amazing how something so small could do so much. Mela gave her a smile full of hope that they would become friends.

" 529? still young i see,anyhow i am sorry, i was never human i was born a vampire but im glad to see that you dont hurt humans, its demeaning to our kind.and as for geting thrown out of villages, how did you manage that? you look pretty normal to me."

She grinned a moment.

"Lets just say that humans bleed easily and leave it at that."

" yes that is true......i mean what did you do put to big of a hole? bite to hard?anyway lets get going."

It was interesting listening to James. She had not know that vampires could be born and if he thought 529 was young how old did that make him?

As she listened to what Alana said got an uneasy feeling again. It was odd how this lady could seem so kind one moment and almost sinister the next.

As they continued on their way Mela just had to ask, "James how old are you?"

" james stopped and turned around to look at mela,he was smiling, "are you sure you really want to know?"

She didn't know if it was what he said or how he said it but she was beginning to feel maybe she shouldn't have asked. Even if James was willing to tell her maybe it would just make her mind spin. However, once again her curiosity got the better of her. "If you don't mind. Perhaps that was a rude thing to ask," she said to him.

Alana just stood back watching these two talk. She wasent one to sit here and talk all the time. If it could be said there was a shy vampire you could put her down as one.

"oh no not rude at all, i just wanted to know if you really wanted to know how old i was,and as for that i am 3,462 as for my parents now thats a different story all together, they are dinosaurs, not literally but you get what i mean." james started to walk again," we are almost there, the library is just around the corner."

Mela's tried not to gape like a fish but three thousand four hundred sixty two years!!! She could not fathom the things he had seen. She got the feeling that even if she spent the rest of her human life trying to know everything about him that she would fall very very short.

She followed him and said, "You must have seen a great many things in your time."

"yes i have, is there anything in particular you wish to know?"as he said this he rounded a corner and stopped next to a doorway."

"I'm sure I will have plenty of questions in the future but for now I'm still just trying to comprehend living that long, " she said with a bit of a nervous laugh. She had tons of questions but where did one begin?

Alana followed them and let them talk. She neverreally thought about how odd it was for a human to comprehend living forever. Now that the girl mentioned it it is something they would find odd.

"yeah it would be hard at first to understand, but after so long you would get used to it, i guess you have to keep in mind dont do everything at once you have all the time in the world,literally." james smiles as he opened the door and let the girls in. "now tell me alana, after you found out you were a vampire what was your first thought on it? like oh great now i have to live forever or what? im sorry im quite intrigued, as far as humans becoming vampires."

Mela was impressed with how many books were held in the library. Well at least if she was stuck in this prison at least she had tons of books to keep her company. She immediately engrossed herself in figuring how it all was organized and finding the sections she liked the best. Off handedly she said, "Thank you James for bringing us here."

" yes no problem, at least now you will have something to do while you are here. i find myself here quite often spending weeks at a time just reading, there are some good reading material here."

Alana thought a moment. After she had been changed what was her first thought? She remembered the day like it was yesterday. She was attacked in her sleep. When she woke up she was somewere else. She tried to get back with her family but they all thought she was dead.

"I wish it never happened. That was my first thought."

Mela half listened to them talk as she committed the library to her memory. She had a feeling she would either spend a lot of time here or have James ferry books up to the room, which ever was safer. For now she grabbed an armful and went back to the other two. "Can I bring these to the room," she asked James for permission.
