The carriage the boy rode in was luxurious, and all white, just like the snow that fell around it. With him, sat his father and mother, who couldn't look more proud. "Lex, darling you must be nice. This will concrete our relationship with the dark elves." His mother chimed, reaching over and moving the white silk veil from his face and touching his cheek. It was tradition, as was in most cultures, for the bride's face not to be seen before the wedding. Or, until at least they arrived at the home of the fiance. The scrawny boy nodded with a sigh, his one bright blue eye staring evenly at his father, who looked a little distant. "Oh Ark, can you believe it? Our little Lex, all grown up and getting married!" She cooed, more than thrilled. Lex pulled the veil back over his face, brooding under it. He wasn't sure he was ready to be wed, but a part of him... well, 90% of him was excited. The other 10% still needed to be convinced.

[[As a question, you're character knows about mine being male, right? which would leave me the "oblivious" one?]]
Ciel paced his room, his mood fowl. He was dressed in the finery of the royal family- light, almost white gray embroidered with black, the traditional wedding finery for the groom. He turned dark, slate-gray eyes to the door as it opened. His father stepped in, looking regal in deep grey, his mother following.
"Yes," Ciel asked, a little impatiently, and then bit the inside of his cheek. He shouldn't be angry with his father- he was only doing what he had to do. Which was forcing Ciel to marry some girl he didn't even know, from the neighboring Elven kingdom, but still. He shouldn't be angry.
"Ciel, you've mussed you're hair," his mother said in her soft, low voice, and crossed the room to fix it. He bowed his head a little, since she was shorter then him, and once she was finished she cupped his face in her hands and stared at him with bottomless black eyes. "My son, you make me proud. You're future will be one of happiness." She released him with these encouraging words, allowing room for his father. The two stood opposite each other, Ciel a younger version of his father.
"You are my future," he said simply. Ciel nodded, then turned as they left. He had to go down soon, as well- his bride-to-be would be arriving soon.
Please, at least let her be good looking, he thought fervently, before taking a deep breathe and turning to leave his room. While it was true Ciel was a flirt in the court, he had never been serious; he knew that he needed to step up to the plate now, and this was (almost literally) the first step.

((Yes, mine knows that he'll be married to a boy. Is that alright? D: ))

The carriage pulled up to a stop and the door opened, the king stepping out first. He was regal, tall, handsome and his long white hair was loose and free-flowing, unlike most men of power. They usually wore their hair up. His eyes were a dark, deep black color, making him look intense, and not to be fooled around with.

Next came the wife and queen. She was beautiful, and if the bride looked anything like her, being wed to her wouldn't matter so much. At least she'd be pretty. Her eyes shone a bright blue, and her fair skin looked flawless. She had long blond hair, which brushed past her bottom. She looked back in the carriage, leaning in and taking a slender looking hand.

The bride wore a long white coat, the thing brushing the ground. Small in nature, the bride exited, holding it's mother's and father's hand, standing between them. The white veil covered "her" face, the wind lapping at it slightly. Lex's mother leaned down to her son's ear, smiling. "I've heard he's very handsome, Lex! You're lucky~." He chuckled, then fell silent once more. This wasn't how he wanted to be wed. He didn't mind being married to another man, it was common tradition in his Kingdom, but, he wasn't so sure. He looked feminine enough, and could easily be mistaken for a girl.

The fleeting thought that his gender would come as a surprise to his groom crossed his mind, but he brushed it away. Their parents had met through letters before, surely they would have discussed this. Right? Lex let out a heavy sigh, earning a glance from his father. One that told him, Stop moping, son. This is for the good of our people.

[Oh no that's perfectly fine!]
Ciel caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye as he passed a window and stopped. There were three people emerging from a carriage, one man and two women. One wore a long white coat and a veil- Ciel felt his heartrate pick up.

That's her.

He cursed and ran down the stairs, almost running into several servants who were setting up the banquet hall. He didn't care; he had to get to his place, because any second now his bride would be coming through the door. Ciel's father (or, more frighteningly, his mother) would kill him if he was late to his own wedding.

He slid into place, trying not to look at his parents (his mother absolutely fuming) as he awaited for the choir to start singing, signaling the beginning of the bride's entrance. He could feel the anticipation and excitement in the air, even from his parents next to him. The only one who showed no emotion was his father, the person who would perform the bonding.

((Oh, okay~. Happy almost Halloween BTW!))

Lex felt his heart skip beats and he whimpered to himself, closing his eyes slowly under the veil. He hadn't even met his fiance... and here he was, walking down the isle to him. The music became more nostalgic, and Lex found it ironic. What was there to be nostalgic about? He didn't know anyone in this kingdom... and for the past two-hundred years their people had been at war with each other.

An elf put a bouquet in his hands, pulling off the white coat to reveal a slim fitting dress. It was simple, and beaded with pearls and diamonds, accented with only a little lace. He wore gloves that covered his pale arms, and it made them look lank, miles long. He gripped the bouquet close, the ribbons hanging off of it looking as elegant on the bouquet as his dress did on him.

With a sigh, he began to run the plan through his head. Walk. Walk. Walk. Stop. Go up stairs. Wait. Be kissed. He sighed, feeling the rush of wind as the heavy oak doors opened. This was it.

[Happy halloween to you too!]
Ciel sucked in a deep breathe, biting the inside of his cheek like he did when he was nervous or deep in thought. The doors swung open, revealing the small form before him. Her arms were thin, delicate-looking, this fact made even more obvious by the white gloves. Her dress was beautiful in its simplicity, a piece of neoclassical art in itself. Light hands clasped a boquet, ribbons spiraling down gracefully.

Ciel could understand where his mother had been coming from, when she had tried to comfort him about the arranged marriage. She had been arranged to marry her father, after all, and things had turned out wonderfully even though the first time they saw each other was on their wedding day. It hadn't made Ciel feel better, nor had it made him believe that arranged mariages weren't terrible. But there was so much mystery and grandier behind it that Ciel couldn't help but be caught up in the excitement as he listened to the murmurs of approval from his people.

The elf strode down the isle slowly, in beat with the music, which was slow and elegant. He felt his heart riding into his throat and as he tried to swallow it down, he felt acid burning at his throat.

He closed his eyes under the silk white veil, making sure his walk stayed graceful. He could hear the others murmuring, and he bit his lip hard. He hoped, at least, his fiance was handsome.

It would suck to be married to him if he wasn't even cute.

Ciel tried to keep his hands still as his fiance was coming down the aisle. There was something off here, but he couldn't tell what. Was it that his betrothed was too scrawny? He tried to dismiss the thought, but it wouldn't go away completely.

He reached a hand out as soon as his fiance got near, to take her hand as a sign of his willingness to be bonded to her. He couldn't see her face through the veil, and dearly wished he could. He didn't want to marry if his fiance wasn't at least cute. Not that he could fight it, they were already this far and his refusal would mean war right then and there. But he could gripe at his parents about it.

The other elf's hand was warm, smiling happily. His hands were trembling in his, eyes closing a little. He sighed, hearing the pastor begin the ceremony. He had heard from his mother that his soon to be husband was handsome, but he wasn't so sure. That 10% still needed to be convinced, and he wasn't feeling so certain that it would be.

Soon after, the pastor finished, looking to Ciel. "Do you, Ciel, prince of the Dark Elves take Lex of the Elven Kingdom of Erulisse to be lawfully wedded to you?" He was nervous, awaiting Ciel's answer.

A slim, warm hand slipped into Ciel's, and he felt some of his worries slip away. Maybe this could work out, after all. He was a lot more convinced that it would then a few hours earlier. He turned to face the pastor, his father, who was watching him with expressionless, dark gray eyes.

The ceremony went on, and Ciel was almost bored when his father turned to look at him. "Do you, Ciel, prince of the Dark Elves take Lex of the Elven Kingdom of Erulisse to be lawfully wedded to you?" Ciel took a deep breathe.

"I do," he said simply, his voice softer then he meant for it to be. Lex... Hadn't he heard that name before? He was sure he had, but he couldn't remember where. He snuck a glance at the person next to him as his father adressed her next.

"And do you, Lex, take Ciel to be your lawfully wedded husband? To ensure the peace of your people?" He asked, Lex looking up at him. Some of the "bride's" silver hair was seen, and it was beautiful. Like starlight.

"Yes, I do." Lex's voice sounded like velvet, like the stuff dreams were made of. Easily mistaken for a female voice, it was alluring and the bride looked in the direction of Ciel.

"Then, by the power vested in me, I pronounce you two wed. Ciel, you may now kiss the bride. And by doing so, bind the two of your peoples together."

As her velvety voice carried gently through the air, agreeing to the bonding, Ciel's heart suddenly started hammering. This was it. He had to kiss his new wife now, and by god he was nervous. He turned to Lex and, trying to still the trembling of his hand, reached out to pull aside the veil.

It came away, and Ciel was hit with that feeling that he knew this face. His dark gray eyes found hers for a brief second, then he closed his eyes, bowed his head and pressed silken lips to hers. He could hear clapping and cheering from the crowd, but it sounded far away from him and Lex.

He finally pulled away and looked down at Lex, still trying to figure out where he knew her from. He hadn't met her before, had he? He surely would have remembered; she was quite a sight. In fact, the only person his age he had met from the kingdom of Erulisse was that scrawny boy a few years back, the one that Ciel had made fun of for... for something...
Why would this girl make him think of that boy? He tried to shake it away as he took her hand to lead her back down the aisle, but the knot in his stomach couldn't untie itself.

He was smiling happily, moving and trotting beside his husband. His two different colored eyes glowed with happiness and "she" held his hand happily.

The bride's parents were cheering. And the two would have to be seperated from the party of the wedding for a few moments. It was tradition for the two of them to spend a few moments alone. Especially now. Their first meeting.

Lex felt that feeling too. That feeling of knowing him. He bit his lip, trying to shake it off, his eyes closing as they stopped their stride in an all white room. Their newlywed room. "....Ciel." He whispered.

Ciel stopped in the all-white room, his heart almost stopping. He turned as she whispered his name, looking down at her. He was almost a full foot taller then her (which was normal, since his people were on the tall side.)

"Lex," he said back, nervously. "Ah... you have very pretty hair," he offered lamely. He had no idea what was appropriate to say to his new bride. Besides the fact that he was almost sure he had met this person before.

He could feel the tension in the air. Even though Ciel wasn't the comforting type, he figured he better start being one. He stepped up awkwardly and drew her into his arms, hugging her like a little boy hugging his first crush. Something felt..... wrong. Like, his new bride was completely flat-chested.

((I lol'd. xDD ))

"Thank you?" He asked, touching a few of the loose strands. He twirled a few around his finger and bit his lip. He was taken slightly aback as he was pulled into his arms.

Ciel's embrace was nice, but he felt awkward in it. "....Uh." He bit his lip, shifting slightly. His chest pressed into the other prince's, making him blush. There wasn't even the slightest definition of a breast there, which was odd... because even in the most flat-chested women, there was a small curve.

Lex looked down at the what he stood on, which was a plush, white rug. Under it was white tile, which was a sheen as Lex's tight fitting dress.

Ciel let go, almost in relief, when he realized that Lex probably wasn't too comfortable either. "You'll have to forgive me," he said, giving a very weak smile. "I'm new at this being married business." He sighed and ran a hand through his thick, black hair, then made his way to the loveseat, the only chair in the room besides the vanity chair, and collapsed into the plush whiteness. He looked up at Lex, curious as to what she would say.

"You know, I have the strangest feeling we've met before," he murmured, more to himself then anything. He leaned forward and put his elbows on his knees, his hands clasped before his mouth as if in prayer, his gray eyes fixed on Lex unconciously as he tried to figure out why she was so familiar.

((o: FASHO! ))

Lex blinked and looked at him, confused slightly. Just because the hug was awkward didn't mean he didn't like it. But, each to his own, he guessed. He rubbed his gloved arms, lips parting a little. "...I have that feeling as well. You look a lot like someone I've seen." Perhaps in dreams? He offered to himself, blinking.

"It's not a bad thing. Though, the one I met wasn't exactly kind to me." He whispered, silver hair shifting slowly.

[[Time to hit Ciel in the face with the fact that his new bride is a boy :3]]

Ciel froze, his slate grey eyes widening. "It was several years ago," he said slowly, rising to his feet. "I went to Erulisse because my parents were trying to draw up the treaty with the neighboring kingdom." He turned his back to Lex, trying not to speak to fast, lest he scream. "I met a boy there. I made fun of him because he was scrawny and... and he looked like a girl." Ciel turned to face Lex, outlined in the sunlight that poured in from the window at his back. He felt his stomach drop ten floors, and while he looked cool and collected (or at least he thought he did), he would have liked to barge into the banquet downstairs and demand an explanation from his parents.

"Lex, you were that boy, weren't you," he asked, his voice barely a whisper as he struggled to speak around the lump in his throat. "I'm married... to a boy." He gripped the window sill until his knuckles were white, eyes fixed on Lex. It wasn't unheard of, especially if there were only princes and treaties needed to be made, but....

Lex stared evenly at Ciel. "....I am." He tugged the veil off his head, setting down the bouquet on the bed, his lips parting. "I'm Prince Lex, from the Erulisse Kingdom." He looked down, his eyes closing slightly. "....And now, we're wed." It almost seemed ironic.

Only a few years ago Ciel had mocked him for being girly, and he'd believed him today. Believed the fact that he was a girl. And got married to him. Lex almost thought it was deserved, and justice had played it's part. He wondered what Ciel would do now...?

Ciel stared at Lex for a moment, then sighed and ran a hand through his hair again. "Well, guess you're girly looks came in handy," he said, trying to lighten his own mood even as he gritted his teeth. This was almost painfully humiliating for Ciel- the noblemen's sons would never let Ciel live this down. Ciel, the ladies man, the number one most desired man in the Adelose, the Kingdom of Dark elves... Married to a man.

"We should probably go back now," he said quietly, trying not to look at Lex. He tried not to blame the other boy for this, but he was almost certain that Lex had known about all this.

He exhaled slowly, his lips parting. "Had I known you were... against this, I would have found the way to... change it." He looked down, his slender body looking elegant in a dress. "...Ciel, I apologize." He bowed his head and his silver hair shifted. Truely, he was.

He got no victory from being wed to him. He didn't win because of it, in all actuality, he lost if Ciel wasn't happy. He chewed on his lip, his eyes lifting back up to him. Their different colors looked inciting.

Ciel lifted his eyes to Lex's, some of his dark hair obstructing their slate grey gaze. "Don't be sorry," he said, biting back his anger. He could see that Lex wasn't lying. "It's just... shocking, is all," he continued. "I'll get used to it." He shrugged, sticking his hands in his pockets. "This stuff happens all the time."

He looked out as a distant clock tower chimed. "Come on, we should go join the party," he said. He hesitated, wondering if he had to hold Lex's hand as they went down. "Just think, a shindig just for us," he said, trying to lighten the heavy mood.
