"Now, I wouldn't be harsh to something that is mine.. even if that were a hunter... And I always will strive to protect something I own.." And with that, he closed his face on hers, tempted to lick her tear... but he caught himself and pulled back. "...Now, why don't you try to go to bed...?"
Amelia nodded as she moved closer to Judes. "Will you hold me, but promise not to bite me?" Amelia asked softly, "Please? I know it is a strange request from me, but it would greatly help to calm my fears and allow me to try and sleep once more," Amelia explained with a small blush.
He paused a bit, but then smiled calmly. "I can do that..." He then took her into his arms and gently lied down on the bed with her, pulling the covers over the both of them.
"Thank you," Amelia whispered thickly as she closed her eyes, images of her previous dream coming forth once more into her thoughts, causing silent tears to roll down her cheeks. It was amidst these thoughts and tears that Amelia fell asleep, trying to force her thoughts and dreams to happier memories of her past and family; a family she knew for certain she could never see again.
Judes gently wiped the tears from her eyes - with his fingers this time - before he gently kissed her head. Then, he closed his eyes with Amelia in his arms...
After a long, weary sleep, Amelia awoke with her head upon Judes's chest, her arm draped across his abdomen. Blushing, Amelia looked up at Judes's face and blushed even deeper as his peaceful looking face.
With his arm around her, Amelia contemplated risking waking him by moving or remaining and not getting any work done. However, Amelia decided to stay; not because she wished to remain in his arms, but simply for fear he would awake. She had awoken him already once that day with her nightmares, why wake him again? Sighing softly, Amelia rested her head back upon his chest and awaited there in his arms for him to awake. |
Judes seemed to yawn a bit, before he gently let go of her and rolled to his opposite side. Once he did, he had a coy smirk on his face as he opened one eye. Just because vampires can sleep doesn't mean they ever truly do...
Amelia breathed a sigh of relief as she watched him move in the bed, still fast asleep. Slipping as softly and slowly as she could from the sheets, Amelia tucked Judes back in before tip-toeing across the floor to her pile of clothes sitting upon the chair across from the end of her side of the bed.
Looking behind her to make sure Judes was still sleeping, Amelia quickly turned forward once more and slipped the nightgown from her frame. Removing her undergarments, Amelia quickly began putting on her set from when she arrived; a white solid set that had no frills or adornments. |
Judes, meanwhile, could hear the cloth moving from her changing clothes. He tried to catch a peek of her as discreetly as he could, but out of fear that she might catch him, he decided to continue 'sleeping'...
Tying the ribbons upon her dress, Amelia slipped on her boot and tiptoed out of the room, leaving her nightdress and undergarments folded upon the chair to wash later. Shutting the door quietly behind her, Amelia headed quickly down the hall to begin the search for the kitchen.
Judes still continued to 'sleep' as she had left the room. Though he did wonder where she was going; he did promise not to read her thoughts after all...
Passing door, after door, after door; turning down corridor after corridor; Amelia stomped her foot in frustration. Where was the staircase? Had she went the wrong way? Sighing, Amelia frowned and untied the ribbon from her neck. Pulling her hair up into the looped pigtails she wore the previous day using the ribbon in her pocket and the ribbon from her neck, Amelia continued down another corridor; determined to find the kitchens on her own without waking Judes.
Judes decided that now was probably a good time to start 'bothering' Amelia.
'What are you doing...?' A voice in her mind asked her. |
"Trying to find the kitchens," Amelia stated after being startled from his voice. Chiding herself, Amelia repeated herself in her mind. 'I am trying to find the kitchens, but all I have done is get myself completely lost,' Amelia thought miserably as she leaned back against the nearby wall.
'I thought you were asleep. How long have you been awake?' Amelia asked softly as she fiddled with the ribbon upon her bodice. |
'Since you woke up...' He awnsered in her mind. 'But we'll keep the specifics of that on the side...' He replied, remembering his attempt to see her unclothed. 'You said you wanted to get to the kitchen, correct...? It should of been down the hall, followed by a left down a hall, and a descent downstairs, as well as another long hallway down...' He tried to explain.
Amelia blushed as her thoughts filled with the fear of him seeing her change, 'Y-Y-Y-You didn't see me.. did you? As for the hallways, I took a right, not a left. I am afraid after that, my directions get confused for I have been down many corridors that turn and twist,' Amelia thought with a deeper blush.
'I didn't get a look at you... a good look at you, anyway...' He falsely reassured her. 'But after you took this right turn, what other turns did you take...? Can you recall them..?'
'You tried?' Amelia inquired as she blushed a deep scarlet. Sighing as she tried to push the thought from her mind, Amelia tried to retrace her steps; dictating as she remembered, 'A left at the end, then another left, a right, another left, a left, and a right. Then at a four corridor path I went straight, then left at the end, then right, right, and another left. I think I've circled this entire floor at last a dozen times yet I cannot even find my way back to our bedroom,' Amelia said hopelessly.
'Then try to do the reverse of what you said you did... or at least try to...' There was a sigh in her mind.
Amelia sighed as she nodded, 'I shall try.'
Turning back the way she had come, Amelia clasped her hands at her lower abdomen and began by turning right at the corridor's entrance. Following down the hall, Amelia turned left, left, then a right at the end. Taking a left, forgetting she had gone straight, Amelia continued on her way and then made a right, a right, and then a left; followed by two more rights. Looking around, Amelia groaned, 'Will you open the door to our bedroom Judes? I think I am lost and fear I am in the wrong corridor once more...' |
'As you wish...' The door did indeed open, though he wasn't sure that Amelia would be nearby when it did...
Amelia frowned as she looked around the corridor for an open door.
'I do not see it, nor did I hear it.. I have no idea where I am.. Can you find me? I will sit still if you are able,' Amelia promised softly as she sat down upon the floor in the middle of the darkened hallway, pulling her legs close in her fear. While she was moving and had a purpose, she was not as frightened; it was when she stopped and realized just how dark it was that she became frightened. |
'Alright then... Allow me to track you down and I will find you.'
A moment later, Judes appeared in the hall where Amelia was. "Morning..." He casually said. |
Smiling at his voice, Amelia quickly stood and followed it until she reached him. "Thank you!" Amelia said as she placed a kiss upon his cheek, "Good morning, Judes. Sleep well?" she asked with a warm smile, her mood brightened now that she was not alone in the dark and she had something to focus on other than the darkness itself.
He laughed a bit as she kissed him and asked about his sleep. "Oh, I did sleep well, if you could call what I go through sleep... now, how about we save the hassle of navigating and simply transport you... where did you want to go again..?" He asked with a tilted head.
