Markie stood in the large lawn, wiping his brow and looking up to his father, smirking and continuing to pick up the fallen leaves. His dark auburn hair glinted in the sunlight, and although fall had just begun, the weather was still warm and comfortable. Because it was so warm out, he decided against wearing a sweater, and instead was clad in a dark blue T-shirt - his favorite band on the front - and a pair of patterned board shorts. His dark green eyes looked over to the house, and as the older male continued on the yardwork, the youth slipped away, finding his way inside the home.

Markie lived with his father and his new wife, and for the first time in his life had a sibling, too. His step-sister was around his age, moreorless, and he actually enjoyed the idea of having a sister, despite his friends' complaining. Even though they hated their younger and/or older siblings, the boy liked having someone to talk to, or hang out with, or just the thought of someone being there.

He went to the kitchen, his white socks slipping across the tile floor. As he found a glass, pouring some milk from the fridge, he looked around, wondering if she was home at the time. While his mother worked weekends, his father was off, and Markie was as well from the part-time pizza job he had; it wasn't a great job, but he had extra money to spend, and was even saving for college, being that was right around the corner. Markie was 17 and a senior in the high school, president of the four-square club, and a young musician; he played cello in two different orchestras.

Ember laid out in her Black and lime green checkerd bathing suit with her Blood red hair falling down in natural curls, on the back porch of her new house. Her mother had decided to marry some man Ember had never met and she, being only 17, had to move in with them. What sucked even worse was that she was no longer an only child. She now had an older brother Markie, he was older by only a few months though.

She pulled out her phone and checked her messages, No one had messaged her since she moved to this new house, she was beginning to think that maybe that had forgotten about her. Sighing she rolled over so that the sun would get her back. She heard someone in the kitchen, hoping it was her Step-Father she called to them. "Can you bring me a can of Dr. Pib!" She yelled putting her sunglasses on and laying down on the chair.

"Can you bring me a can of Dr. Pib!"

"Pfft, brat.." he muttered to himself, figuring that maybe hiding out in the back would be better. But, she was there, and she'd probably want to do whatever teen girls do; swim, talk on the phone, sunbathe? His father just got a pool put into their backyard, and it was actually very nice.

Finishing his milk, Markie grabbed an apple, and two cans of soda, tossing the Dr. Pib lightly over towards Ember; inwardly, he hoped it was shaken up just enough. He was a bit of a prankster, and a joker, and always wore a goofy, fun smile on his face.

"So, what's going on out here?" he asked out, slipping off his shirt and tossing it to the side of the pool. He ran off, his slightly tan skin shimmering in the sun after he made it into the water, popping his head up. He was rather fit, being he did lacrosse in spring, and trained year-round, but not extremely buff. "Are you gonna go swimming?"

Ember grabbed the Pib and looked up as markie jumped in the pool. "Are you going to go swim?" He asked from the water. Ember raised her eyebrows as if to say yeah right. "And why would I do that when I'm wearing a brand new bathing suit?" She asked opening her Pib that squirted as she popped it open, thankfully none got on her.


Sighing she set her phone down and closed her eyes again. "So what's Frank doing today?" She asked talking about her new step dad. Even though her real father was a piece of scat, She'd never call this new man father.

"Papa? Oh, well, he's doing yard work, or moreorless letting me do everything, and standing back.." He waded over to the side, and leaning against it rolled his eyes; figured that much. "Ah, what's the point of a bating suit when you don't use it to swim? I doubt the water's going to do anything..." With a coy grin, Markie splashed some of the water, just making it to the edge of the chair. He could've easily gotten her, but decided to save his eardrums and himself for the time.

As he pushed off the edge, laying on his bakc and kicking lightly, he sighed and shut his eyes, only worrying as he heard the door opening. He glanced up and started to dip under, just praying that he wasn't too loud.

The older male looked outside, and sighed, turning to face Ember. "Have you seen Markie?" he asked out, grabbing the unopened can and wiping his forehead.

Ember looked at him with an 'like-I-care' expression and sighed. "He said something about the mall." She said rolling onto her back. As the man sighed and walked back into the house she sat up. "You so owe me." She said staring at the pool. She wasn't sure why she lied for him. But she felt like it was okay.

Ember pulled out her phone and checked her messages. She had one from Her friend Julie asking to borrow her Ipod, and another from her friend Jake asking if she wanted to hang out. Ember leaned back into her chair and wrote back telling Julie sure, and Jake that she was busy, She really wasn't she just didn't want to hang out with him.

As the boy hoisted himself up from the pool, he warily neared the chairs, smiling and flopping down next to her. "Thanks a million.." he murmured, giving a light-hearted sigh, and fakely wiping his forehead. His eyes went to look to her, and tossing about his damp hair, grabbed his own soda. He tapped the lid a few times, then finally opened it slowly, taking a nice, long sip.

"Are you going anywhere tonight?" The youth remembered his friend mentioning something about a movie, and Markie would probably have to find some way to invite Ember; his pal was in love with her, figuratively and literally. The redhead shifted some, before finding his own phone, just glancing at the texts from a few friends.

"Thinking about going to take a nap till about nine, then going on the computer." Ember said looking over at her brother. "Why?" She asked looking back down at her cellphone. "In fact Julie wants you to run my I pod next door." She said pulling it out of her bikini top. She usually kept money in there but she didn't have any pockets on her shorts, so she had shoved her Ipod inside when she first came outside.

"Oh, well... If you wanna go see a movie later, you should tag along.. Especially if you want me to run that over for you.." His finger flicked out and pointed to the iPod, as if it was covered with cooties because it was in her bikini top. Why did girls do that anyway? Just wear something with real pockets. As he rose up, taking the object, he asked out once more, finding his shirt and draping it over his shoulder, "So, will you go to the movies with me, and Paul?" His green eyes darted toward the door for a moment, and then back to her, a small smile on his face.

"I guess, but we have to go see Midnight, that new Vampire movie based on the novels written by Steven Mayes." She said with a smile. She knew that Markie hated those books, and was sure to hate the movie, but she had her demands if she were to go with his friends, even if they were sort of cute.

"What?!" His eyes widened more, and giving a low, rugged sigh, he finally nodded sliding the door open. "F-Fine by me," he reluctantly added, and made his way down outside, and off across the street. Once he reached the other girl's house, he knocked, and just talked with her briefly before giving her the iPod; she had a really annoying voice. The boy was moreorless forced back into yardwork, but finished rather quickly.

Evening came around, and Markie donned a pair of dark blue jeans, cuffed and his favorite pair of laced Vans. He also wore a light Tshirt, as well as an 'Italia' Jacket, and sat in his room for the moment, tossing his keys up and down as he waited for Ember. Sometimes, he never understood why she took so long; she was a natural beauty, really.

Ember walked out of her room and to the front door wearing a black and purple halter top with a tight mini jacket over it, along with a matching black mini skirt and thigh high boots. Her hair was up in a loose and curly half up. and her eyes were outlined with thick eyeliner and eyeshadow. Her full lips were dark red which made her look maturer. "We ready?" She asked placing a cigarette in her mouth.

His own jaw almost dropped, but Markie decided to keep his thoughts to himself. Paulie owes me, BIG time.. he thought to himself, smirking and raising up from the bed. "You look, ready for a good time," he let out, combing through his red hair and shuffling in his pockets for his keys. "I've been ready.. Let's go.." Personally, he hated the smell of cigarette smoke, and wondered how his father and her got along so well with her smoking - you think he'd discourage it. But, for the night, he would ignore it, and started downstairs and out the door with her.

"So, what are we seeing tonight?" he asked out, putting an arm out the window some, nodding to the radio for her to change it. He had a small, old, foreign car, that was a little beat up, and decided which days it would work, but for the night, he got permission to use his father large SUV, and he loved it. They arrived shortly to the theatres, and before he even had to call, his friend was in line, waving to them.

"I told you, Midnight." Ember said jumping out of the SUV, she dropped the Cigarettes which by now was already gone. She jumped into the parking lot and fixed her shirt and looked in the mirror and fixed her hair and make-up, then she turned towards her brother.

"After we hang out with your stupid friends, we are sooo going to Mucho's and getting drunk." She whispered as they walked up to where his friends stood in line. Ignoring the group she walked up and purchesed a ticket for her self.

"Fine by me.." Now, he was all for keeping healthy, but didn't mind going to Mucho's at all. It was a weekend night, and he wanted to have some fun. The two followed her shortly after, and finally catching up to her, Paul smiled. "So, how're you tonight..?" he asked out, eyes looking over Ember's body. For some reason, Markie felt a little less-than-happy about the whole deal, and sighing some glanced around, hoping to get some kind of attention soon.

They went to the theatre, and the movie started shortly after. Paul found his arm around the back of Ember's seat, and Markie sat on the other side of her. For once, he was annoyed with the youth's constant attepmts, and quickly texted the girl. 'If you want to ditch him, let me know..'

Ember sighed and looked over at Markie's friend then leaned forward. She grabbed her phone and read his text. "LETS GET OUT OF HERE MUCHO'S IS WAITING!!!" She texted back. The movie was in fact boring. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. Why did Markie have such stupid friends, as if she would give him a chance. She'd rather do Markie then his friend. She blushed as the image flashed in her mind of her and Markie in the truck doing it.

As the male started to get up, he slid past the two, leaning over and telling the boy they had a 'family emergency.' As they started out of the theatre, he turned to Ember, smirking slightly. "Well, that was a really bad movie.. Nice choice.." he joked, opening the truck and slipping in. They were at Mucho's within a few minutes, and Markie removed his jacket, starting inside with the girl.

"It was supposed to be good." Ember growled ordering two shots of Jack daniel. "What was with your friend?" She asked downing one.

Markie took the shot, and glanced up to her. "He's like, in lust with you.. And, well.. Yeah, I was supposed to give him the chance. But, even if he had it, he blew it.." The boy ordered another two, smirking and glancing to a few other girls, who were giggling and whatnot behind the two. "What, is he not your 'type?'"

Ember downed the next shot. "Far from it." She said with a smile. "Can I get some crown Royal?" She asked the waitress. "Stop flirting, your here with me." She said taking a shot of crown.

He turned back around, and laughed some, scooting a bit closer to the girl. "What? You must already be drinking too much; you're my sister... Kinda.." He couldn't lie to himself, though, since he did think Ember was hot, especially today. "I can flirt with whomever I want..." He took another sip of his next drink, winking slightly.

"Why don't you flirt with me?" Ember asked leaning forward towards him. She thought he was really cute even if they were related kind of.....
