Holly let go of Alex's hand and ran over to hug Selk. "Thank you, for everything, I have to tell you that it's amazing how much you all make me feel like I'm part of something no matter how different I am, I'm glad to have met you all. I just pray you all get out of this alive." She backed up and Alex wrapped his arms around her. "We will do are best." he stated.

Selk seemed flustered with the hug, but returned it weakly. She didn't reprimand the couple for being together . . . not this time. They deserved all the time they could get.
"Good," the dark elf said, clearing her throat and brushing her black arms off like she was shooing away cooties or something.

Vik's eyes met with Selk's as she looked over them all and he made a silent sigh as he thought about the upcoming battle. When she asked if any of them had anything to say and Holly spoke the half breed wondered if there was anything for him to say. He closed his eyes in thought for a moment then when he opened them he realized he had nothing. Everybody knew what was at stake here and had their own reasons for being her just as he did. Crossing his slender yet toned arms across his chest he took another glance over them all until he was looking at the elven woman's figure once more and he allowed a small serene grin to grace his features. He would stay silent there was nothing for him to say.

Balthazar slid down the roof, Standing silently behind vik, "Be careful, or youll give away your thoughts" he whispered directly into Vik's ears. His eyes cast up to Selk trying to catch her eye, as he backed unto the darkness. As the darkness surrounded him he quickly climbed back onto the roof of the building watching once more.

Dante had watched the small scene between Vik and Selk silently, and made note to observe it further. He also watched in slight disgust at the 'touching' hug Holly gave and her whole moving speech. He didn't like the fact that they were so... what was the word? Lovey-dovey? Alright, he had to admit it, they were cute as a couple, but jeez, get a grip on yourselves!
Dante battled his thoughts over Holly and Alex before deciding there wasn't anything he could do about it, and he wasn't going to change his thoughts about them, they were nice to him the last time he saw them, and Holly had accepted him, so it was good enough.
As Selk asked about other questions, his brows furrowed as he thought of one. It seemed as though everyone already knew it, but he didn't. Standing up, he signalled Selk to the side, for a private talk.
"I have a question." he spoke, his voice low in case others heard. "What position am I in, and well.. second question, what is our good part of the deal here? What do we get in return for risking our lives to better yours?" he asks, and watches her carefully.

As Balthezar approached him from behind Vik bared his fangs at him as a warning not to do anything stupid but when he whispered those words in his ear he almost wanted to laugh. The half breed shook his head thinking to his self, "He knows nothing of what I'm thinking, the obvious answer isn't always the right one.' Then feeling that he didn't want any other idiot to try and walk up behind him he posted up with his back against the wall and folded his arms across his chest as he usually did. Then his detached golden gaze found Dante as he went over to Selk to ask her a question, Vik closed his eyes and waited.

"You will . . ." Selk seemed to hesitate then. "It was agreed that a set of weapons and armor of choice to be crafted for the survivors." Her voice faltered as she spoke. "And if requested, I'd train them to fight with another sort of weapon. Whatever I give will be enchanted, and Neam has contacts with the surface elves that can charm them." She narrowed her eyes, letting them lower to the floor. "After all . . . you wouldn't want them . . . melting into sun's rays."
What kind of payment was that? As Dante said, what kind of payment was it for them to risk their lives bettering her own?
"I don't know," she whispered, answering her own inner question. "I don't know."

Vik opened his eyes after hearing enough of the conversation, he was getting pissed off, so he walked over to Selk and stopped right in front of her. Then he raised her head forcefully so that she was looking directly into his golden eyes, "You don't seem to have the same confidence and swagger you once had, what shook your faith? All of us here know what we were getting into when we joined and we all asked what we wanted so I don't see the problem," Vik's eyes began phasing red with his anger over her show of weakness. Then he continued, "Wake up, you have people here who are fighting for you and now you seem to be shaken, how will everyone else react if their leader falters? You call yourself a drow but you seem to be missing a backbone right now, grow it back," he whispered with rage clear in his voice. Once he finished speaking he let her chin go and he folded his arms across his chest and clenched his teeth together trying to contain his anger.

The shock that showed in Selk's eyes faded as soon as he let her go. With a loud snarl, she slapped Vik. "Get your arse back over there," she hissed, pointing to the shadows. Her crimson glowing eyes were full of laughter, and she couldn't help but smile slightly. "Now, slave."
He was right. What was happening to her? This was no way for a drow to act. She straightened her shoulders, and glared over at the werewolf that questioned her. "You either help me," she said, "or leave. I am not keeping you here without your consent. I am not going to question your loyalty. Now choose, dog."

Vik couldn't contain a smile when she slapped him, this was the reason he was attacted to her, she was strong. Vik licked th eblood from his lips as he turned around to walk back over to the wall where he was before he had to come straighten up the female elf who had seemed to lose her sight for a moment. When he reached the wall where he had been just moments earlier he resumed his usual position with his arms across his chest and back against the wall. He looked over at Selk just for a moment still with a slight grin on his face and his eyes flaring with the attraction they once had before as they phased back golden since he had calmed down. He looked at the ground for a moment seemingly having something on his mind before he closed his eyes once more again waiting.

((Yeah he was getting pissed off, and I was getting pissed off lol... I tend to have a weakness for strong women and he shares that trait so watching her get soft was painful. I just couldn't do it anymore LOL :twisted:))

Truinthil silently observed the interactions of the others, looking like he was only vaguely aware of them at all. Truly, he couldn't care about the goings on between them all. Most of it was dramatic and needless. Right now he was in a mental state ready for combat. Ready for anything. He was quite aware of their surroundings and could likely point without looking in Balthazaars direction, could all but smell the various emotions wafting off of his companions, could hear every inhale and exhale they made, and could feel the very slightest of movements in the air around him. Outwardly he looked calm, collected, but lazy in his motions.

((We never told Dante what he’d be doing, did we? :XD))

The dark elf nodded slowly. "Thank you, great one." She took the small objects carefully, stashing them in the single pouch that hung from her belt. She then addressed the group.
"Let us go over what I expect each of you to do tomorrow," Selk said in a firm tone. "We're going to clarify what needs to be done."

Selk went over the plans once more.
Truinthil would fight the weapon’s master of House Toshiba, Fayn, distracting him from aiding the Matron. Alex and Holly would be fighting off the drow that undoubtedly followed the Matron in her throne room. Balthazar would be taking care of outside influences. Neam would be fighting the larger threats – the priestess’ and mind flayers that would be guarding the Matron. And Vik . . . Vik would help Selk herself.
“Dante,” the dark elf tilted her head. “You will help Balthazar in keeping the rest of the city unaware of the battle. I don’t want anyone finding out about this . . . mutiny.”
The soon-to-be-matron inclined her head, running her burning eyes over the group. “Truinthil will come with me after this. I want him to meet Fayn before the battle.” Her red-glowing eyes then rested on Alex. “I want you to drink this,” she said, tossing him a small canteen. “It will make you sick for a while, but ensure that you are completely healed for tomorrows fight. Hopefully my whipping didn’t cripple you too badly, wolf.”
Shifting to sit cross-legged, the woman sighed impatiently. “Does anyone have anything to say about this? Or can I move on without disturbance?”

Dante was ready to kill Vik, he had gotten Selk right there, and he wanted it kept that way! He gritted his teeth in anger and not even replying to her stern question, sat back down and listened to the instructions. Hearing his position he allowed a curt nodd, but he still wasn't going along with her plan completely, he had a few of his own, which he still needed to develop. He also needed to question Holly and Alex, because their participation in this really confused him.
Did they think she was some sad princess who wanted more and was going to be fair? He shook his head to himself and sighed, what were these people thinking?

Alex took the bottle and examined it closely. Slowly he drank it and coughed slight. He looked at Selk, ignoring the fact she called him wolf. "I should be fine." He murmured and sat down. Holly sat down next to him and took his hand again. She didn't have any questions so decided it was best not to speak.

Balthazar slid off the roof and landed gracefully next to dante, "Hello young wolf, what is it your planning?" he looked into dante's eyes probing with his eyes. "Oh and my name is balthazar, yours is?" Balthazar extended his hand to dante, then turned around to look at every one else. This whole group of mismatched people almost brought him to laughter, what did selk think she would accomplish in this battle.

Before he could so much as blink, someone landed right next to him in a flash, already asking him about his plans and introducing itself. He remained silent for but a moment, before answering.
"Dante," he responded curtly, giving the man so much as a weary look before thinking about the man's curiousity of his plans. What really confused him was the fact that he hadn't so much as talked to Balthazar and he already knew about it. Mind reading? He thought for a moment, but deciding not to delay the man with his answers, he just shook his head and responded, "Still working on it. You?"

((What can anyone expect to do with a half-vampire, full vampire, two werewolves, a half-elf, and an ancient red dragon? XD))
