(That is soo true... *sheds a tear for all the homies*
Hey wait... you makin' fun o' me!?!) |
"Because, I an NOT a surface dweller, contrary to what you think. I an an Elf. And I would like to get a bit more respect from my captor. Thank you" Sophie said, calming down, she obviously wasn't going to be relished soon, so, a bit of authority over her captor might be useful. Sophie sighed, hoping that she would be able to sleep soon.
|
"I'm glad I met you. It's acually one of the best things that's ever happened to me." Holly didn't move or breath while she sat there thinking. "You're a really great teacher. I'm sure anyone else would have just told me to go away. Or leave them alone. Something to that affect." It amazed her to think that Fayne, of all people, was the person who was kind enough to help her learn. Fayne, the man who killed Alex, was the one person she trusted, the one person she could almost bring herself to thinking she.....loved. Pulling herself away from that thought she looked at Fayne for a moment. That wasn't possible. He wouldn't ever feel that way about her. "Fayne?....." Holly asked quietly trying to think of the right question. "Why are you so nice to me?"
|
((Make fun of you?! *le gasp* How could you say such a thing!! NEVER!! *cough* Alright, no, not this time. ;)))
In her sleep, Selk buried her head into Vik's shoulder, sighing quietly. Throughout her dreams and rest, small whimpers and sleepy sighs escaped her lips . . . and her hands gripped the blades that were no doubt in her dreams. At one point, she lashed out and shoved herself away from the half breed . . . but she fell still and didn't wake. - Marr raised an eyebrow, listening to the elf in silence. "You are a pale-skinned cousin of my race that lives above ground, are you not?" Inclining his head, the drow wrinkled his nose. "If so, then you are a surface dweller." His red eyes narrowed, and he knelt beside the cage, looking at Sophie intently for a moment. For the briefest of seconds, it seemed as though he was interested in her - he hadn't seen an elf in quite some time, really. "What is your name?" the male asked a few minutes later, reaching up to scoop the bat off of his shoulder as it clambered up near his neck. Holding the creature for a moment, Marr tilted his head questioningly. "Certainly you have one, don't you?" - When Holly asked the question that had been dashing around Fayne's head for hours, the drow frowned. A surface dweller would need no reason to be kind to another, but a drow . . . well, they were rarely kind, let alone friendly. The weapon master let his head drop a bit, and he felt a bit of his hair fall over his face to shield his expression from Holly. "You have bravery and spirit," Fayne started quietly, licking his lips before continuing. "Yet you have almost no skill to speak of. You have me curious . . . and you learn quickly." He paused, his slow words eventually coming back to his tongue. "You don't shy away from my hand." To emphasize this, he brought one hand up to place it against her cheek. "And you don't treat me as a drow. You act as though I'm . . . one of you." A surface dweller. Another bout of silence filled the room, and Fayne let his fingertips trail gently over her cheek and jawline as he "saw" her features. "You are different, Holly. And you intrigue me." |
"Umm, Yes" she said "It's Sophie, my name is Sophie" She shivered, her teeth chattering, it is soo cold she thought, hoping that the man would let him down soon. "Whats your name?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, trying her hardest not to sneeze. She looked at the bat, then shivered again, and started whistling. A few second's after she started whistling, she sneezed "ATCH-OOO" .
|
The tall male slowly raised an eyebrow. "I am called Marr." The dark elf then lifted his hand into the air, sending the bat flitting off into the shadows of the cavern. Standing, he reached for the cage's lock, muttering something under his breath before it clicked. Opening the door, he stepped up to Sophie, looking at her with disdain. "And you are getting sick."
Unclasping her chains, he yanked the elf to her feet, forcing her to follow him. "You should regain your strength." |
Sophie felt herself getting yanked "Owch!" she exclaimed. She had to practically jog to keep up with Marr "W... Where are we going?" she asked, hoping that it'd be warm. After a while, Sophie tripped up, and landed on a pile on the ground. "Owchie" she said, staying on the ground. "Atch-oo, Atch-oo, Atch-OOO." she sneezed, rubbing her arms, trying to get warm.
|
{Hehehehe Sophie is sneezey XD}
‘Bravery? Yeah right!’ Holly thought to herself. Being brave wasn’t really a word she would ever describe herself with. Although it made her smile that he would think that. “I thought I was the curious one here.” She was trying joke around a tiny bit. “I trust you, so there is no need to shy away.” ‘One of you’ How was she supposed to treat him? All people were equal. At least that’s what she always thought. “You might not be exactly like us…but you’re still a person just like everyone else.” The silence almost made her want to speak but it didn’t end up being awkward to her. His gentle touch made her smile. “I’ll take different and intriguing as a good thing.” She reached over and touched his cheek as he had done to her. His skin was so dark compared to her’s. “Fayne…I really wish…no never mind.” Holly bit her lip and decided not to tell him what she wanted to. There was no way she was ready to hear the answer she was expecting. Her hand slipped from his cheek and she leaned into his chest breathing lightly. |
Shaking his head at Sophie's sneezes, the drow pulled her back to her feet. "We're going to my room. Perhaps I can find a bit of warmth for you there." Being a bit more careful to avoid more cracks and shifts in the ground, the dark elf brought Sophie along until they came to a rather small hallway. The door he opened made a grating noise as it swung, and the room was full of many ragged blankets and clothing scattered all about, but it looked comfortable. Dark, but warm.
Pulling the elf along to the pile of blankets and cushions that he used as a bed, Marr shoved her down onto it, grasping a blanket and tossing it over her shivering form. "Consider yourself lucky," he said in a thick accent, scowling down at her. "Not many elves get such special treatment." - Fayne looked a bit confused when she said he was equal with her - it was never so in the Underdark. Never. Slowly leaning against her hand as it touched his cheek, the drow frowned again. She was about to ask something . . . but Holly fell silent, merely leaning against him. The action brought another wave of uncertainty, and the black-skinned male merely sat still, unsure of what to do at first. Wrapping his arms slowly, gingerly, around the vampire, Fayne breathed in her scent - sweet. Something akin to something he'd place on the surface smells, like flowers or sweet herbs, perhaps a sort of sugar. Breaking away from such thoughts, Fayne ran a hand through the woman's hair slowly, enjoying the silky feel. "You wish what?" he asked quietly, wondering what was so strange that she couldn't tell him right out. |
“I wish…” Holly paused and was silent for a long while feeling his hand in her hair. Just the feel of him made her want to tell him everything. But she was afraid. “I wish that I wasn’t so afraid to tell you that I’m falling in love with you.” She spit out burring her head back into his chest and waiting for him to push her away. “I wish you hadn’t killed him. I wish this was so much easier. I wish you felt the same way. I wish you truly knew how I feel about you.” Her voice was muffled because of her face being buried in his chest, but he could still hear her. Why couldn’t this all be so much simpler? She felt bad that she realized how she didn’t love Alex the way she thought she had. A wave of guilt washed through her. How could she feel so strongly about another man so soon after his death? It didn’t matter. Alex was gone, she needed to stop thinking about him, he was the past. Something that should have ended a long time ago when they had first been split up. Fayne was different; he was something she couldn’t quite put in words.
|
Sophie smiled when they got to his room, Finally somewhere warm to go she thought. when she got shoved on to the bed she gasped, as it hurt, but she was thankful that she was starting to warm up. she caught the blanket that Marr threw at her and cuddled into it "Am i still your hostage?" Sophie asked curling into a ball.
|
When the vampire started talking about what she wished for, the dark elf halted any movement, not moving an inch. The blind male stiffened further, and his breath halted for the briefest of moments. "You can't," he whispered finally, shaking his head. In a sudden movement, the drow stood, carefully pushing Holly to the side on the couch. "You can't love me." Reaching up to touch the blindfold again, Fayne shook his head. Turning his back to her, he grit his teeth. "Perhaps you're experiencing a temporary attraction, nothing more." No one loves a killer. Not a liar, or a murderer . . . a lie. No one loves a drow.
Her words rang in his thoughts, and Fayne could think of nothing else. Nearly trembling with the rush of uncertainty and confusion that overwhelmed him, he whispered an apology in his own tongue before heading for the door, suddenly eager to get out of the room. She can't. No one does. Ignoring the stab of pain that shot through his leg as he struck the corner of a piece of furniture near the door, Fayne messed with the door for a few seconds before managing to get it open. His shaking hands made it difficult to manage, and his sightless disadvantage didn't help much. But it was his thoughts that made it difficult. Holly's words. I'm falling in love with you. Was that what was happening? To him as well? Or was it just Holly herself? Trying to tell himself that it was only her thoughts, her silly surface-dweller's attitude toward others, Fayne stumbled out into the hallway, his hand flying up to his forehead as he massaged his temples. The blindfold prevented the effectiveness of the action, but he could have cared less. If anyone wanted to kill him then, he might not have fought against it. And in the Underdark, everything wants your blood. Stepping toward his own door, the dark elf spat out a few words in the drow language. Love. Hate. Lost. Fumbling for the key at his neck, Fayne grimaced. What is this pain? ((I couldn't make it easy for them, could I?)) - Rolling his eyes, the dark elf glared at Sophie. "Of course you are. Has there ever been a moment when you weren't?" His red eyes narrowed, and he nudged her shoulder with his fingers. "I merely want you alive for now, woman." Marr's accent made his words, as usual, difficult to understand . . . but he made his point known by crossing the room and making the semblance of a bed on the floor. "I am not letting a surface dweller take over my home." It was a few minutes later when Marr pointed roughly to the floor's scarce pile of blankets. "That is where you will be sleeping." |
Vik had slept fairly peacefully not hearing any of the mumbling that was coming from the woman asleep in his lap, that is until she shoved away from him suddenly. They had been at the edge of the bed already and she was about to fall but the half breed moved with a swiftness to catch the woman electing to sit in the middle of the bed this time still letting her rest against his chest as she slept. After a few minutes went by and no sounds or movements were made or could be heard Vik once again closed his eyes and drifted back into a light slumber.
|
"No I'm Not" she said, crinkling her nose "why are you such a cranky pants for anyway?" she asked, pulling the blanket higher if he tries to move me, ill just kick and bite him, i hope he doesn't, unless if he likes bruises. she thought, running her tongue over her teeth.
|
That was exactly the reaction she feared the most. Curling into herself tears rolled down her cheeks. "But I do love you." She wispered. A few minutes passed, the tears still poured from her eyes. She sat up slowly and ripped a piece of paper from her notebook.
Dearest Fayne, I know what I feel. I know you think I can't love you, but I do. More than anything on this planet and beyond. I don't care what you did before. You are who I love because of what you're like on the inside. If that stuff hadn't happened you wouldn't be the same. I love that you are blind. You don't know me by how I look. I love how you teach me as if I were a drow. I love that you showed me the amazing fire, and the freezing water. I love how it felt to be in your arms. I love that you're a drow. I love how you don't understand half the things I do. But this is one of those things I wish you'd understand. I can't stay here though. I can't see you everyday and not love you. I'm leaving. I'll find my way to the surface. The sun will be out. So you won't have to worry about me coming back. Pretend you killed me in the battle. Pretend like I never was here. Love always and forever, Holly After finishing the letter she stumbled into the hall and knocked on his door before sliding it under. Away she ran out of the building and to the tunnels they had come through. She sat at the edge and sobbed, while waiting for the sun to rise. (Great job! Holly's gonna kill herself now! See what you did! -.-) |
(( NO HOLLY! *sniffle* lol))
Marr growled, his red eyes glaring back at Sophie. "Yes," he hissed, stepping toward the pile of blankets that he called his own bed, "you are. Move, woman." Without further words, he reached forward, snagging her arm and yanking her to him. "You will do as I say." - When Holly knocked on his door, Fayne pretended not to hear. It was then that he heard something slide under the door . . . and his curiosity got the best of him. The dark elf stood and moved to lift the letter. Unable to read it, he frowned, running his black fingers over the paper. Curse being blind. Not to mention the fact that he could hardly decipher the English language from writing to words. Thinking for a few seconds, the dark elf took the letter with him, stuffing it into his pocket while searching. He found who he was looking for out in the hallway, not far from the rooms. A drow child; a son of the former matron. The youth swiftly stood at attention, stopping his chore of scrubbing the statue near the wall immediately. When Fayne asked him to translate, the boy nodded mutely. It took many grueling moments to finally translate and read the letter, but when it was finished, the weapon master stood still. Is this for the best? A streak of rebellion crossed his mind, and the dark elf took off toward where he knew the caverns to the surface to be. It was nearly an hour after Holly had knocked on his door when he smelled the fresh surface air, and the drow heard a muffled sound nearby. "Holly," he said quietly, stepping toward where he suspected the vampire to be. "Don't be rash. This is foolish; madness." Listening for movement, the male lifted his hand from his side, licking his lips as he reached for Holly. "Speak with me. Walk with me. Don't do this." |
"OWCH!!" Sophie said, she didn't like to be pulled and it seemed that all this guy seemed to do was ether push or shove. She had her hand clenched in a fist when he pulled her up, so she punched his chest. she then snatched her hand from him and sat back where she was.
|
(XD Completely forgot he couldn't read...I remebered he was blind though. :D)
Holly looked up at him and slowly stood up. But she did not take his had. Although she wanted to very badly. "Why should I be rash? I am foolish. This is becase I love you. That seems to be a crime to you. That's madness. This now is desperation. Desperation to get away from all the feelings inside of me? Why should I walk with you? I'm one step away from freedom." The sun was beginning to rise. "Why shouldn't I do this. You made it painstakingly obvious that you didn't love me." Holly looked outside to the sunlight. "Fayne, you should have just killed me in the first place." |
((*laugh* Yeah . . . but you remembered he is blind! That's a good start!))
With a snarl, Marr reached for the girl again, hardly seeming fazed by her strike. Yanking her away from his bed and shoving her toward the pile of blankets that was to be hers, the drow glared at her. "If you want to end up back in that cell, you can continue this idiocy." Seating himself on his own bed, the male growled in frustration. "I certainly don't care if you freeze to death." - "Fayne, you should have just killed me in the first place." For a moment, he was speechless. But he got what he wanted. She had revealed where she was standing just by speaking. Lunging forward, the dark elf grasped the vampire's wrist, pulling her to him. He could feel the air warming slowly - the sun was rising. "I never said that," he whispered, gritting his teeth. "I never said I didn't love you." Pulling Holly back further into the darkness of the cave, Fayne shook his head. "You showed me that you weren't stupid. And now you're going to ruin my perception of you by running out to your death?" He snorted in disgust. "Holly, what are you thinking? You've only known me for a day, and you're willing to kill yourself if I don't love you?" |
Sophie landed head first in the blankets and then stood up, feeling her head to see if she was bleeding, which she was, then she started to cry. "Your...a...big...meanie.." she sniffled, running over to the door, trying to open it. She wiped her face and tried again, but when it still wouldn't open she cried harder.
|
"No...yes...kinda..." Holly sighed and took a deep breath. "It wasn't just you who made me want to kill myself. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't stay near you, and I couldn't go home. The fact I Ioved you was killing me with guilt. There wasn't anywhere I could go without wanting to kill myself. I don't think I really would have though. I was just going to sit there. I was hoping someone would find me." Holly followed along back into the dark. "What's wrong with fast? Romeo and Juliet fell in love after only seconds...oh...well not including the killing themselves part." A slight pause came as she relized his first words. "W-wait...Y-you do love me?"
(Holly is such a dramaqueen) |
"It's locked magically," Marr said from his place on his bed, and the drow leaned back. Reclining on his blankets, he shook his head in annoyance. "Sit down before you hurt yourself, girl."
- "Romeo and . . .?" Frowning, Fayne tilted his head . . . he had no idea what she was talking about. But then took hold of both of Holly's shoulders. In response to her question, the drow shoved all doubt to the back of his mind and leaned forward, pressing his lips to hers. I do. ((LOL< that's alright. There needs to be the occasional queen of drama, yes?)) - Selk woke many hours later, when the sun was beginning to rise. Of course, she didn't know it was rising - but the magically glowing stone that worked as a clock showed as much. Yawning quietly, she glanced up to Vik, seeing him still sleeping - but lightly. Her black hand moved up to trace his jawline, and the drow smiled a bit. She was starving. And deathly thirsty. But good. Things were . . . very good. |
"Let.. me.. go" she sobbed, her head in her hands, the blood dripping onto the floor."It's.. you that.. hurt me" she stated, still not looking at him. At that point she was getting sick of him being so mean and angry all the time.
|
Holly was in shock when he kissed her. Slowly she kissed him back and held her lips there for a moment. "I'm sorry that I'm so foolish. I'm sorry that I even thought to kill myself. It was stupid." She hugged him tightly, a few tears ran down her cheeks. She didn't know if they were happy or sad tears.
|
(Vik: *raises hand* Can Holly please die... I was oh so ready for that defining moment lol)
Feeling the touch of his woman Vik's eyes opened slowly as he peered down at her, "Well good morning, my matron," he said with a smile. "You have now been leader for a day how does it feel?" He was slightly cusious but not really he just wanted to hear her voice more than anything so all was good he supposed. Then a thougth occurred to him, I am a royal bodyguard... I better be getting paid for this... (nuff said... LOL) |
