After a few minutes of rest Vik rose to his feet once more and left his room heading for the library. Once he was there he looked at the attendant and told him to open the door. Doing as he was told the attendant opened the door, probably because he knew Vik had some favor with Selk, but regardless he would use what influence he had for his various reasons. Then stopping at the door he looked to the attendant and said, "Tell the matron her job is done and if she needs me I am in the library." Nodding in understanding the man took a bow of respect or fealty, the half breed assumed, then left to deliver the message. Once in the library Vik walked around asking a few of the attendants a question or two before finding one who was suitable to fulfill his request. The two of them chose a table that was off in the back corner of the library and seemed to be having a detailed conversation to prying eyes. Before they began Vik told the elven woman, "Do not speak of this to anyone not even your matron or else you want to find your life ended before your time is here, understand?" The woman nodded, although he had a feeling she didn't really fear his threat, but then they began...
(Don't talk about Vik, he now has a purpose helping someone he cares about with their dream... reminds me of Berserk lol Guts and Griffith except Vik and Selk are male and female and lovers *laughs as he rubs his head*)

Marr stuttered over his words, suddenly seeming frustrated. "Let's just go," he growled. As they walked, she suddenly tripped, and the drow muttered a few things in his own tongue before reaching down and grasping Sophie's arm, pulling her up. "Watch where you're going!" he hissed, sounding less threatening that he wished. Taking her hands, he brushed them off for her, and then snagged her arm again, pulling her with him as they began their short journey around the city.
-
Selk looked up, snapping her book closed as the male "knocked" on her door. Receiving the message, the matron frowned. Am I being summoned? No. Vik was merely back, and was letting her know where he was.
Slowly getting up, she headed for her door, the light fabric that created her silver-threaded robe flowing about her. She walked silently on bare feet all the way to the library, motioning the attendant aside as she entered. For a few moments, she didn't see the half breed . . . and then she spotted him at a small table near the back of the room, one of the scholars beside him.
The slightest of frowns creased her black face, and Selk stepped forward, moving to stand beside Vik. "Is it done?" she asked brusquely, her purple eyes narrowed.

The woman translated for him slowly at first but it didn't take long for the woman to realize that the half breed was a quick learner. He seemed to pick everything up quickly as she relayed it to him and then he back to her. Still this would take time as he had figured but he had the scholar open up a book in case Selk decided to make an appearance, which he had figured she would, and translate a bit of the drow history for him. It wasn't long before the matron had come to his side and he looked at her with a slight frown on his face once he saw her expression, "Why are you frowning Selk, I have done what you asked of me. None know of what was done and I suspect it shall stay that way until a servant gathers some courage to go check." He knew she was suspicious of what the scholar was doing with him but it should have been obvious with the book in front of her. Standing up the half breed placed a kiss on the woman's forehead and said softly, "Did you worry for me, Selk?"

"I didn't worry," she said quietly, shaking her head. As her gaze moved over the history he was reading, she merely smiled, knowing he would find blood and violence, betrayal and treachery through every page. That was what the society was built off of, after all. "I didn't worry because I suspected you to be finished all too quickly."
Leaning against the half breed, she looked down to the table again, realizing that he was merely gathering knowledge. "What are you up to, guardian?" Wrapping an arm about his neck, the black-skinned woman met his gaze momentarily, looking back to the pages he was scanning over.

Vik smiled as he wrapped his arms about her waist, "This is a library is it not? I would like to know more about the place that I have devoted my life to, unless that is a foolish notion of mine?" He glanced back at the book then at the scholar before looking at the matron once more, "Is something troubling you? If you would rather have me at your side I could come back later." His crimson gaze meeting her violet orbs that had first caught his attention when they met and had shown him a new path he could follow.

"Read if you wish to," Selk said, motioning briskly toward the book on the table. "But if you're going to search through our histories, then I would like you to hear a bit about our own house as well." Patting his arm, the dark elf smiled a bit. "It's not an old family, and we moved to this city a few generations before my own." In other words, they were new to the histories, and it might be more difficult to find out about the Toshiba household - especially since the family had started out as servants, slowly clawing their way to power.
There was a moment of silence. "There is rarely a time when I will wish for you to be away from me, guardian." With a sly smile, the matron leaned over and pressed her nail to his chin, kissing him viciously. "You might as well hear that now."

He listened silently as she explained that there was only a short history of the Toshiba household and he was impressed that they had risen from the ashes to this sort of power. It seemed that Selk had a mind to rise them even further above their current station and he would be a tool to be used in that endeavor. The realization didn't bother the half breed but there was always the lingering thought that he would be discarded once this was all said and done, after all drow didn't 'love', even so he still hoped that maybe that she was different. Hearing the matrons words did make the half breed smile and he gave no resistance to the almost violent kiss that he received, "That is reassuring to the soul," he replied to the latter comment. "Then what would you have me do, my matron," he asked slyly.

"Do?" Selk raised an arched eyebrow. "I don't control your every movement, half breed." She bumped his head with her own gently. "I just meant to tell you that I am going to sleep. Tomorrow I meet with the remainders of the house you just infiltrated."

Vik rubbed his forehead where they had bumped at and smiled, glad she didn't seem to suspect something, it would be interesting to see how much she trusted him if she did begin to grow suspicious. "Then I bid you a goodnight, matron," he replied smoothly with a smirk on his face as he gave her one more passionate kiss. Then taking his seat once more he looked to the scholar and raised and open palm in her direction to signal her to continue reading.

As he smiled she was happy. Although the kiss was unexpected she melted right into him and was speachless for a few long moments after he pulled away. "You're welcome." Holly whispered looking up at him there was a small grin on her face as she looked at him. "What about that rock building, with the stones in it, and the freezing cold water. You must still want to see that. Why don't we go over there? Then you're coming right back to your room an going to bed, okay?" The last part wasn't really suppose to be a question, but if he didn't really want to go to bed she wasn't going to make him. Maybe he wasn't tired.

"We'll see," Fayne chuckled, and then grasped Holly's hand, pulling her along with him as he headed for the crystal tower. When they got there, the drow observed everything, pointing out certain crevices and other oddities that he couldn't have done without sight. "It has changed little," he said with a smile, "but the changes are big. There used to be a different kind of crystal here." Tapping a black wall, the drow chuckled. "But I believe they use it as currency now." As they will do until all of the stones are gone.
After many minutes of pointing things out and observing, Fayne finally came to the small waterfall of freezing water. Silver eyes filled with laughter, and he held his hand out to catch a bit of the liquid before flicking it into Holly's face. Over the next few days, things would be different. He would see everything once again. And he would see things in his own time . . . with Holly.
-
Marr frowned. His response was a lot of stutters and mis-started sentences, and the dark elf became visibly flustered. She was about to cry. Sophie was on the verge of tears. With a loud sigh, the drow reached out to grab her head, pulling it to his chest. Stroking her hair for a few moments, Marr growled his response. "I never said I didn't, did I?" After all, you're still alive, aren't you?
-
Selk smiled at Vik, still carrying an unsatisfied aura . . . but she turned and stepped from the library swiftly, knowing her hours of rest were limited. After all, she would need to take reign over another household when she next awoke.

After looking around the cavern again she grinned and followed his gaze. "Hey!" She exclaimed glaring at him for a moment and smiled slightly reaching down and cupping water in her hands and splashing it over his face. "You're lucky I love you." There was a grin on her face now. As long as he didn't completely cover her with water then she wouldn't freeze to death. Anyway, it was fun splashing him with water, and seeing the smile on his face.

Now that Selk was gone they could go back to what they were originally doing. It would take some time the half breed knew but not nearly as long as normal humans, simply because he was an exceptional learner, he learned everything at an accelerated rate. And besides for now he was simply learning one thing, he would broaden that horizon later once he had mastered this art...

Fayne chuckled, careful only to splash the smallest amount of water to Holly once again. "Let me know when you get too cold," the weapon master said with a smile, flicking another smattering of drops into the vampire's face. He snagged her wrist, pulling her shielding hands away from her features in order to do so. With a quiet laugh, the drow continued his "assault," merely fighting playfully.
-
With another stutter, Marr grumbled his reply. "Well I can't very well be nice to you, now can I?" He turned his red eyes to the city, scowling. "Drow aren't nice to anyone." He shook his head, and the hunter stroked Sophie's hair as she looked up at him. Looking into her wide eyes, the dark elf paused, struck once again by their clarity and clear innocence. "Let's just go. I need to get this patrol started, or I'll be punished."
Slowly pushing the elf away from him, Marr frowned again, pulling her cloak back into place. "Don't slow me down, girl."

"well, you can be nice to me, can't you? no one will find out" Sophie said, grabbing his hand before he started moving again. He must like me, somewhere deep down inside him, but I don't think that he will just admit it she thought, looking over at him, after making sure that she couldn't trip on anything.

After stifling a giggle she cupped her hands and splashed more water on his face. "You'll know when I get to cold." Holly smiled at him. Even if it was cold she found this rather amusing. "This time, when I get cold you won't get upset with me and leave, right?"

The ever-so-brief pause was regrettable. The moment allowed Holly to get him wet again, and the drow couldn't help but chuckle. "I suppose not," he said, giving her a nudge and taking both of her wrists so she couldn't get her hands wet again. "I would like to say I learned my lesson the last time."
-
"I-I," Marr blinked, and then started pulling Sophie along with him . . . a bit more carefully. "Not while anyone else is around." But he didn't say he wouldn't be nice . . . he only said if there was someone around, it wasn't going to happen. Slowly slipping his hand off of her arm, linking his fingers with hers, the dark elf frowned. It's only to keep her from tripping again. Or so he told himself.
-
Selk slept for a few hours before waking, restlessly shuffling through tomes and papers as she prepared to take custody over the nearby house. With a sigh, she began to summon those she would bring with her - the head priestess and the most powerful spell-casters, Vik, a few of her personal guard, and the weapon master with some of his prize students. Sending a few runners off to gather her wanted individuals, the matron brushed her silk black cloak behind her shoulders, showing off her newly gained scar. It was time to play drow once again.

Vik had made a great deal of progress since Selk had left picking up everything with relative ease but he understood that he still had much to learn. Even so, after last night and going through a few different scholars thanks to their fatigue, he was now confident he could use his newly learned skill even though he had no intention to as of yet. The half breed was happy with his results but felt he should have been learning faster... it wasn't fast enough for him, he intended to have it mastered within a few days but at his current pace it would take at least a week to a week and a half. By normal standards that would be amazing but he had much higher standings than most. As he dismissed his final tutor for a while a guard approached him informing him that the matron was in need of his presence. Giving the servant a slight bow he dismissed him and made his way to Selk's chambers, once there he knocked once and walked in, "It is time to leave I presume?"
