"I can wait. I have nothing better to do." Holly mumbled, her mind was on Fayne now. She Moved to lean against the wall. Fayne was the smartest person she knew and it was great to have his words running through her head. After what had happened within the past few days she knew that he told the truth. Not that she had ever expected him to lie, but she thought the not trusting Selk thing was overly dramatic, now she knew it was completely true.

With a shrug Vik walked towards the Selk on the throne, "Suit yourself," he added as he glanced at Holly. Stopping when he and Selk were eye to eye from the steps, the half breed spoke in drow so that Holly had no way of understanding them, "Where are the disloyal subjects that you want me to exterminate?" His voice had a dark tone to them now, the same that usual surfaced when it was time for business rather than leisure or play. His eyes had narrowed becoming that of the natural killer that he was, not to mention the menacing aura that radiated off his persona. The shift seemed natural to him at this point but some of his employers and contacts had found it... unnerving to say the least.

Miley Cyrus 07-20-2010 08:52 AM

"why are you going so fast?" she asked, "do you have to be somewhere?". she was happy, knowing that he was probably the only person down here who didn't want her dead, well, that's according to what he said anyway. She sighed, everything looked the same to her, but he knew exactly what he was doing, and she felt like an unnecessary third wheel, wondering why he still put up with her, as any one else, as he had pointed out, would have killed her by now.

Esmme 07-20-2010 10:47 PM

Selk tilted her head, regarding Vik for a few moments before letting a sadistic smile spread over her black face. Just as he had spoken, the drow responded in her own language. "You will find both of them apprenticing under Shara in the priestess' quarters. You do remember where to find the hall, yes?" She stroked her throne's decorative spider once again. "They are the only ones that carry these." With a wave of her slender hand, a small illusion of a medallion appeared. "This is the priestess symbol of apprenticeship. Slay them, and do it without Shara knowing. She would recognize you, guardian, and I don't want to be forced to kill my most . . . valuable magic user."

They finally came to a stop near a ledge overlooking the Toshiba household, where Marr merely frowned out at the fire-coated city. The gentle flames of differing colors didn't appeal to him - they never had. "We rest here," the hunter said, his free hand lingering on the hilts of both his weapons. While they had been traveling, he thought he'd heard someone following, but that might have been a phantom whisper from their own movement. After all, Sophie was quiet, but not as naturally silent as an Underdark dweller.
Leaning against the small tunnel's wall, his red eyes closed for a moment as he listened. Mealtime. Glancing over to Sophie, Marr frowned again. "Are you hungry?" he asked, sounding . . . civil . . . for once.

Miley Cyrus 07-21-2010 03:59 AM

Sophie sat down beside him "Yeah, a bit" she said, answering his question. She looked over the edge of the cliff and saw the house "Whats that?" she asked, pointing to the house. It looked different to what the houses tat she was used to looked like, so she just naturally wondered "How long do we have to go?" she asked

Marsyas 07-21-2010 06:04 AM

Vik sat there taking in the information nodding when the situation called for it. His eyes closed for a brief moment before reopening and his iris' having a red glow to them as they did when it was time for him to feed. Then holding the elven tongue his simply said, "Consider it done," and gave a slight nod as he turned around and made his way to the exit. As he passed Holly he gave her a short glance with either no meaning or a hidden one, and walked out of the throne chamber in silence.

There were no preparations to be done for this assignment as he already knew what he was going to do and it didn't require any extra equipment on his part. Vanishing into the shadows to avoid the large number of servant who roamed the halls of the Toshiba household, Vik made his way to the far wing where the priestess' quarter was located. He noticed that there were noticeably fewer servants in this wing which would make his task easier and help keep it discreet as it would take a great deal of his stamina to pull this one off effectively.

Before entering the room, Vik made himself invisible to the eye via illusion magic and then entered silently. He saw the two apprentices in the room talking and Shara in the corner looking like she was preparing something. It seemed that his timing was perfect and immediately he began casting his spell. Making an ancient insignia with his hand he cast two spells over Shara, one that deafened her to her surroundings and another that would make everything appear normal until he released it. With that finished he smiled crookedly as he began making a chain of insignia's that would dictate the brain activity in the head of the two apprentices.

Now his work began...

One of the apprentices, probably the elder of the two, began spewing threats at her partner aimlessly as if she had suddenly caught a fit of rage. The other vehemently taken aback by the outburst immediately began shooting back at her, all logic and reasoning gone from their heads. As the argument escalated so did the tension and anger and then the younger snapped. She hit the elder with a clenched up fist that brought quite a surprising amount of force behind it. Stumbling backwards in shock the elder launched herself at the younger tackling her to the ground and immediately began clawing at her viciously. Trying her hardest to defend against the savage attack the younger shifted her weight and tossed the elder off and jumped on her without hesitation but was quickly dislodged with a swift punch to the nose. The two managed to wrestle to their feet and began exchanging blows and before long both were standing up with blood flowing from multiple areas.

Unable to stop themselves from fighting they tore at each other like two caged dogs trying to survive one more day, until it was the younger looking one who was still standing with the elder dead. Shara had actually moved from her preparations some time ago as she was standing right in front of where the two had been when Vik had originally entered the room. If she hadn't been completely unaware and even slightly suspected that he was coming then his spell would have probably failed but the half breed was a master of his art and had had quite a bit of luck on his part. So the priestess stood there lecturing air while one of her apprentices died at the hands of the other. The thought would normally have brought a smile to Vik's face but he hadn't the time to even do that, powerful illusions required an immense amount of concentration and he couldn't afford to botch this up.

Drawing another insignia quickly, the half breed looked to last of the apprentices as she began to strangle herself in reality although she thought she had been attacked by a snake that had coiled itself around her neck and was constricting her. It wasn't long before she snapped her own neck and fell limply to the ground. Now all that was left was to clean up a few blood stains and leave as he could release all the insignia's he had over the two young females and hold the ones only over Shara. Quickly finishing up what he needed to do Vik placed both of the dead bodies over either shoulder and cracked the smile that he had been holding back as he left the room and released his spell over Shara. As he made his way down the hall undetected he could hear frantic movement in the direction he had left, they are never coming back.

He arrived back at the throne chamber about twenty-five minutes after he had left and he was sweating quite a bit from the strain of holding so many spells at once. He wasn't sure if Selk knew about his ability to use high level illusions or not but banished the thought immediately as he tossed the elder and larger drow's body to Holly for her to feed on while he tossed the other one at the bottom of the steps for Selk to see as he took a seat on the bottom step panting slightly. Then speaking in drow as if he had been naturally speaking it all his life, he announced, "The task is complete." His gaze was still a bright red as he was actually hungry now but he wanted to drink the matron's blood more than this traitorous female's, but elected he would catch his breath before he did anything.

Esmme 07-23-2010 02:14 AM

Looking over the large stone "house" made up of various stone formations and various gates, Marr smiled grimly. "That's the Toshiba household, where we came from." The drow shifted closer to the elf, giving her shoulder a vicious tug that made her fall against his chest. Leaning over her, he pointed to a specific balcony farther below them. "That there is the Matron's quarters."
-

Selk looked rightly surprised when Vik reentered her throne room, and she stood, stepping down to meet him. With the slightest of smiles, she reached forward and ran a finger down the side of his face. "Impressive," she quirked a brow, her smile growing. "You are much faster than any assassin I've ever worked with."
Glancing to Holly, the drow returned to the common tongue. "Feed, if you wish. I will have to ask that you dispose of both bodies outside of the city for me, Holly." Her purple eyes glowed in the darkness, and her smile widened once again. "I wouldn't want to have to blame you for their deaths, should someone see you."
Moving down the rest of the stairs, the matron nodded to Holly before casting a sly wink back to Vik as she left the dark room.

Marsyas 07-23-2010 02:47 AM

Listening to the woman speaking in her native language Vik smiled at the compliment and replied, "Did you expect any less?" He listened to her instructions to Holly then looked at the dead female body next to him. His fangs elongated as he thought about feeding on her since he was extremely hungry now and figured there was no point in waiting. Giving a nod to Selk as she left, winking at him, he grabbed the woman's body and bit into her neck savagely. He did however make sure not to spill much blood feeling like it was wasting food. Then a thought occurred to him that he could just eat a regular meal if he chose to, but it was never as satisfying or filling as drinking blood was. Either way it was too late now, he was almost finished. A minute or so later he allowed the body to drop, then he looked to Holly but said nothing. Rising to his feet, it was time for him to do more with his studies, there was still much to learn...

Miley Cyrus 07-23-2010 09:56 PM

"But that cant be where we came from" she said, as it looked much bigger when she was looking over it " What does the Matron do?" she asked, wondering if the Matron would kill her if she met her. "Is she nice?" she asked, hoping that the Matron was a girl.

broadway_princessxo34 07-24-2010 02:44 AM

Holly glared at Selk as she left mumbling under her breath, "Next time I'll just go out there and hunt. It defeats the purpose if I have to go there anyway. Feeding slower then Vik she watched him leave before lifting up the two bodies and running unseen into the night and through the tunnels. The sun would be rising soon but she ran out into the night and threw the bodies into the forest where animals would eat it before running back into the tunnels just as the sun got more noticeable. Holly heady back to Faynes room and sat on one of the chairs watching him sleep. Never again was she going to ask Selk for someone to feed on. What if some drow found the bodies out in the woods? If Selk blamed her then Holly would kill the matron..

Esmme 07-25-2010 12:05 AM

Marr laughed. "Matron is a feminine word, girl." Scuffing her hair gently, the dark elf smiled for the first time since he'd met her. "Yes, Selk is a woman. And she is far from nice, even if she's acting it at the moment." Standing, the hunter grabbed Sophie's hand and pulled her with him as he stepped off the edge of the cliff-like surface. "Hold on to me."

Appearing rightly surprised when she heard about the two apprentice's deaths, Selk spoke with Shara for many long hours before returning to her own chamber. A smile was on her black face as she thought through what would happen next. Shara would be busy with her new task in finding apprentices, leaving slack for Selk to take the control spell from her. Then Selk herself could keep the leash on Fayne, who would be a valuable ally in the coming battle. She wanted him to fight in the war against the other houses in the city - and take out Holly when the time came. After, he would have to live with what he'd done, another pain upon him, more torture toward the weapon master.
Selk chuckled. The best part was that she planned on having him killed by Vik. She would force the drow to attack her guardian, and then she would be free of nearly every form of resistance - Holly, Fayne, and half the city.
Closing her bedroom door, the matron moved toward her bed, soaking up as much rest as she could.
-

Slowly shifting and looking over toward Holly, Fayne sleepily remained in bed, watching the vampire for a few moments. Sensing her aura, the drow frowned, his silver eyes tracing over her face. "Is everything alright?" he asked quietly, brushing his hair from his face as he watched her.

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 12:16 AM

"I'm okay. Just feel sort of jumpy because I don't trust Selk and I think she relized that I'm not comfortable around her and Vik. Which I don't think is good for her to know." Holly didn't bother saying anything about having to go outside the city and get rid of two bodies. "You can go back to sleep if you want. I'm fine and you need rest. I'll just wait here."

(edited :))

Miley Cyrus 07-25-2010 12:17 AM

"Okay" she said, clinging onto him and closing her eyes tightly. "Can you tell me when to open my eyes?" she asked, not wanting to open then and be face first on the ground

Esmme 07-25-2010 02:08 AM

Fayne nodded, but didn't close his eyes. Instead, he blinked slowly, watching the vampire for many moments. "I've always heard that a vampire readily surpasses the beauty of any mortal being," he said quietly, "but I didn't believe it until I saw you." The weapon master slowly sat up, pushing himself to lean against the headboard of the bed. "Thank you, Holly." Gratitude resounded in his tone, and Fayne bowed his head in respect. "Thank you for changing things." Even me.
-

With a chuckle, Marr wrapped his arms around Sophie, enacting his levitation to keep the both of them from falling too quickly. Drifting to the ground far below, the dark elf patted the girl's head gently. "You can open your eyes," he said, his face a few inches from hers. She always seemed so scared, so . . . small. Marr wished he could tell her to stop worrying, that he would keep her safe.

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 02:21 AM

Looking at him for a moment she stood and walked over to him and plopped down on the bed next to him. She was grinning at him. One of her ands reached over to gently touch his face and his white hair. "You're only saying that because you love me, I'm not that beautiful.." She whispered still smiling. "I think your beautiful...or handsome too. It might not be perfect like a vampire but I love the way you look, and the dark skin with the white hair. I thought you were the coolest looking being I'd ever seen even that day when you had killed Alex. She was twirling his white hair in her fingers now. The way he looked was perfect for his personality. Which Holly couldn't help but love.

Esmme 07-25-2010 02:41 AM

"Perhaps that is why the Underdark is so hideous," he murmured, smiling grimly. "There is no love here." The closest word for "love" in the drow language was "lust," which carried entirely different connotations. The dark elf didn't move, but held Holly's gaze for many moments. Slowly reaching over to grab the dark shirt he'd so readily discarded upon entering his room, Fayne fingered the finely woven material as he contemplated getting up.
Letting one black hand move to hook behind Holly's neck, the dark elf gently pulled her toward him, pressing his lips to hers. She was so cold, just like the world around him, yet the vampire carried a warmth with her that struck Fayne with a sudden clarity. She is my everything.

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 03:03 AM

Holly watched him for a few moments as he had the black shirt in his hands. When he pulled her closer and kissed her she kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his neck. Although she was silent there were many things going on in her head. Even if she knew she was in love with Fayne rather soon after they met it still came as a suprise to her that it was possible. Her world had changed so quickly it frightened her, in a good way. Fayne was with her and he would be no matter what stupid thing she did or would do.

Esmme 07-25-2010 03:52 AM

With a small hum, Fayne let both arms wrap about Holly, pulling her to him and shifting so she was in his lap. The drow ignored his usual wariness about having someone see his scars - the pale lines crisscrossed over his shoulders and back, upper arms and scattered about his form - drow were never kind, and Fayne had been a particularly stubborn youth. The weapon master thought briefly about the surface world's thoughts on love - how most only chose one person to be with and married them. Marriage wasn't part of the Underdark pattern, thus he didn't bother saying anything about it. Instead, he set aside his mental barriers, giving Holly another kiss that ended up being far more passionate than the last.
Where were you all my life?

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 04:10 AM

Gently her fingers traced the scars as she kissed him with the same passion in her kiss as was in his. There was a lovely feeling running through her as she smiled softly looking at him for the slightest moment before closing her eyes and enjoying the warmth flooding through her. After she touch a few different scars wondering what Fayne had done to get them she moved so her hands were resting gently on his arms. Oddly enough Holly was in an really good mood now and it wasn't her hyper sort of happy more of a calm relaxed I never want to move from by his side again kind of happy. Everything the freaked her out about the underdark was thankful out of her mind now. Just Fayne was in her thoughts. At least for this wonderful moment.

Esmme 07-25-2010 04:24 AM

Fayne fell still, watching Holly's gaze with an expression of the utmost care. Just feeling her cold fingers trace over his skin made the male shiver, and then suddenly give in to the desires of his heart. Both black hands moving up to rest on either side of her face, the dark elf planted a fierce kiss on her lips, his fingers tangling in her hair as he slipped into the passion of the kiss. Pulling the woman as close as he could, Fayne shivered again, loving the feel of her ice-cold touch as he did so.
"I love you," he whispered, once again startled by how . . . right . . . the words felt leaving his mouth. He had never spoken them to anyone else, and honestly didn't plan to.

((Whew! Getting a wee bit hot in here.))

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 04:46 AM

Kissing him back and trying hard not to smile her kisses were sufferer from the fierceness of his. They were sweeter, but got the same point across. The fierceness just wasn't in her body, so there wasn't a real known way for her to be that way, yet she froze slightly when he said 'I love you.' Holly hadn't expected him to say that, although she knew it, he didn't seem like the person who would ever think to say it. "I love you, too." She whispered gazing at him with love and admiration in her face. Fayne loved her, someone so wonderful loved her!

(Lol, yup. It's good Holly's an ice cube XD Sorry had to say that even though it wasn't that funny.)

Esmme 07-25-2010 04:55 AM

((*laugh* Ice-cold Holly. :XD))

Fanye gave a genuine smile when he heard her words, and slowly let his hands fall to the woman's shoulders. The look on her face made his silver eyes light up with laughter; Holly's blatant adoration made the dark elf laugh to himself. "You were right," he said quietly, running his hands down the vampire's cool arms. "I need rest."
He sank down a bit, carefully pushing Holly to sit beside him. "I still have duties," Fayne said with a small frown, thinking of the students he was training. "And I can't ignore them any more than I can turn my eyes from you."

broadway_princessxo34 07-25-2010 05:08 AM

"Sadly I guess that's true. I'm staying here though. I'll be quiet." She smiled at him and kissed his cheek softly befor curling up next to him. "I'll be Daydreaming so it's sort of like sleeping only I....nevermind, I'm going to be quiet now and let you rest. Goodnight Fayne." She smiled and closed her eyes so he could sleep and so she wouldn't randomly start talking to him while he was resting. Holly was going to ask if she could watch him training the others to see if she could learn something from them while sitting quietly by the wall. It wasn't like she had anything better to do. There was no way she was going to help Selk, and she didn't want to be alone. It's not like there were many choice when you don't know anyone in the underdark.

(Ahhh perfect timing Holly talking in her mind and Fayne almost sleeping. Perfect time for bed. Night night don't Let the Bed bugs--- I mean vampires---bite! :))

Esmme 07-25-2010 07:35 AM
