Slade is coming home to his mansion when he spys what appears to be a young girl abondoned along the side of the road. He soon finds out that she isn't human but a vampire fledgling that's been seperated from the person who created her and is now suffering from a fragmented memory. Taking pity on her he takes her in. After forming a sort of fondness for the younger vampire her original master appears and Slade must decide whether or not to let him have her.

Mumbleing to himself about in compitent humans and how they can't handle money Slade drove home along the empty worn out road. No one ever traveled on this road but him, althought tonight through the rain, he could clearly see the track marks of someones car. Scanning the area he noticed nothing at first. Untill he was a few miles from his home, he noticed the shape of a girl thrown across the road. Hitting the brakes he walked out into the heavy rain, he walked over to her. She was still breathing but barely.

Picking her up he set her in the passenger seat then continued the drive home. It was odd the way this girl was making him feel. Right now he wanted nothing more then to stop the car and take advantage of her, but being the gentlemen he was he just drove home. Parking the car in the garage he pulled out out of the car and carried her inside.

She was a little dirty, so he decided to bath her. He carried her into the bathroom and undressed her then carefully washed her, careful not to wake her. Then he carried her into his room and dressed her in a nightgown that he kept from his first and last wife. He left her in his bed then went into the library and began to read.

((You can either start off by saying why she was on the side of the road or explain it later and start with her waking up in his bed.))

Renee awoke and stretched. She sat dazed for a moment her mind kicking back into gear. The first thing that came to her was the sense of hunger and the extreme need to alleviate it. Throwing the covers from herself and swinging slightly sluggish legs over the bedside Renee made her way to the first door she saw.

With her hand on the doorknob Renee hesitated as she realized she did not know what laid behind it. She turned around and stared at the room she was occupying hoping to get a jolt of recognition, however none came. Concern rising Renee struggled to draw up any memory that would explain her situation. What she found were only bits and pieces of which none were coherent or appearently recent.

Sitting back down Renee started piecing together what she did know. She knew her name, that she was in a place she'd never been before, and that she was incredibly hungry. Everything else was muddled. Sighing she curled up on the bed and decided to wait for someone to get her. It didn't make sense to wander around and get herself lost and she might be able to get answers from whoever came.

Slade heard the woman wake in the next room. He set his book down and walked into the room. She was curled up on the bed, obviously thinking. He didn't want to disturb her so he knocked as she entered.

"Hello, my name is Slade, I found you unconscious out on the road by my house and I brought you home so that you could rest." He said entering the room. He walked over to the chair by the fireplace in the room and waited to see if she would answer.

She was truly beautiful. She smelled like something delicious. Not food, food could never smell this good. Like something forbidden but there for the taking. He hadn't smelt anything like this ever. He wanted to take her in his arms and...No he had to keep his head straight. She might be dangerous, and she might have Danger following her, why else would she had been on the side of the road.

When Renee heard the knock at the door she immediately sat up. She watched as the handsome man walked in and took a seat a seat by the fireplace. She carefully took in what he said and processed what it meant for her.

He had found her unconcious in the road and taken her in. This meant that he was a stranger who knew nothing about her and therefore wouldn't be able to help fill in the blanks. If he found her unconcious that probably meant she was in some sort of danger. Renee sighed. Things just couldn't be easy for her, right?

Renee climbed back out of the bed and stood in front of Slade to get a better look at him before answering. "Thank you for taking me in. My name is Renee." She said catching the smell of him. It was a good smell: powerful and enticing. She liked it but her hunger was disappointed for some reason. Gripping her stomach she voiced her need, "Slade, do you have anything to eat?"

"I'm sure I could manage to find some Rice and Chicken." Slade said with a smile. He enjoyed her voice. It sounded like almost a song, but with a hint of anger. He stood and walked down the hall. He turned left and walked down the stairs and onto the first floor. He walked across the floor and into a wide doorway off to the left. As he passed a giant painting of himself he sighed as if he was sick of seeing it.

Once inside the doorway he walked through it, ignoring the Roaring fireplace and the giant dinning room with suits of armor in each corner. As the two traveled through the house, they saw no windows. Slade preferred the light of the candles on the chandlers that hung from each ceiling in the house.

He walked through the door in the back of the room and into a stone room. The floors and walls were stone and had the hint of a 14th century kitchen, except with the Stove, dishwasher, and Fridge. He opened said fridge and rummaged through it, taking out a bowl and setting it on the table. He shut the fridge and dumped the bowl into a pan and reheated it. Then he put it back in the bowl and took it out to the dinning room and set it down on the table.

Renee followed Slade through the hallways. As she walked she was immediately glad that she hadn't left the room by herself. She would have most definately gotten herself lost. Renee took care to pay attention so she could at least find her way back to the room.

She took in the decor of the place noting that not only was it huge but elaborate. Her host was an affluent man. Renee looked at the large portrait and felt it fell short of the real thing. It lacked his potent aura and scent. Renee also felt a certain reassurance when she noticed a lack of windows though she did realize that it meant there were less points of escape if she needed them.

When they arrived in the kitchen Renee stepped back and watched as Slade moved about. His movements were smooth and pleasant to watch. Once he'd finished and placed the food on the table Renee sat down. "Thank you," she said simply before she began to eat.

It was strange she did not taste the food. She could eat it but it didn't taste any way and she hadn't expected it to. She remembered that food had taste and that it should but she had no expection that it actually would. Tucking the confusing memory away Renee finished her meal. When she was done she found that her hunger had lessened but was not entirely gone. Further more she hungered for something other than food. "Do you have anything else? Other than stuff like this? I'm still hungry." Renee looked at Slade hoping he would have what she needed.

Slade watched the woman eat and her expression seemed lost, as if she was remembering something but couldn't quit remember it. Slade was entranced my this female, he knew she wasn't human...But he couldn't quit figure out what she was. He jumped slightly as she spoke. again her voice reminded her of singing.

"I'm afraid the only food I have left might not be good for you." He said thinking of the blood he kept in the freezer so it wouldn't clot. He had friends who worked in the blood bank in town so he cold bulk up on as much blood as he needed without having to leave the mansion.

He hated leaving the mansion, since he always risked the off chance that someone will recognize him from long ago. There weren't as many old timers as there used to be due to flu epidemics and bad health care. He waited to see if this female would understand his meaning and not think him rude.

"May not be good for me?" Renee repeated the phrase and shook her head. "May I try it any way? I don't think much can hurt me." She felt certain that there wasn't a lot in the world that could hurt her. So trying out this food wouldn't be much of a risk.

Besides she got a whiff of what she wanted. It was slight but there and seemed to have been stongest in the kitchen. She hadn't asked about it because she wasn't sure if that's what he'd been going to give her and whether or not it had really been what she was craving. Now after consuming something she was positive that was what she needed.

She looked Slade straight in the eye and pleaded, "Please, I need this." If he didn't give it to her she feared she'd have to go get it herself. She didn't want to do that. It'd be impolite and might anger him.

Slade stood and went in to the kitchen. He opened the freezer and took out a bag of Type O+ and poured it into two goblets one for himself and one for her. He thought about heating it up, but apon tasting it he found it to still be somewhat warm. Perfect, just the way her liked it, he only hoped this female would also enjoy it.

Taking two two goblets back to the table he sat one in front of her. "Here you go. Hope it doesn't creep you out." He said quietly. He watched to see her reaction.

Renee took the goblet and peered inside it. The aroma made her mouth water and she found the deep red color appetizing. She took the goblet in her hands and sipped. This was what she had needed. Before long she was drinking avidly quenching the hunger. After drinking half of it she slowed no longer needing it so desperately.

As she stared at the divine liquid. A word came to her: blood. This was blood; human blood. She wasn't surprised. This was right. This is what was natural for her. Putting the goblet down, Renee looked to Slade. "Thank you, that was divine. I'm glad you had this." Renee smiled with appreciation.

"It's the only thing I eat." Slade said standing up. He wanted to go play the grand Piano but he wasn't sure if he should leave this female alone. She still seemed weakened, but somewhat stronger. He turned towards the door deciding that it would be best just to go on like nothing was different. "You may come with if you wish." He called behind him.

He crossed again to the other side of the front room and into a giant room, this one had the biggest fireplace, it took up half the room. There were a few couches here and there and some chairs, but in the middle of the room was a Piano. It was black with white keys, an original Denali, a Piano that was stopped in production back in the 90's. He walked over and began to play the midnight waltz by Jalousie Soureze, A french composer. He did not know the words but he knew they must be beautiful.

Renee got up and followed him not wanting to be alone in the unfamliar place. When she walked into the room she gasped. The fireplace's enormity surprised her and the beauty of the piano left her speechless. Picking a couch near the fireplace that also allowed her to see Slade from a good angle she sat down.

Making herself comfortable Renee listened to him play. She found the song beautiful and tried to hum along with it the best she could. She smiled as she watched Slade play. He looked so handsome as he played. When the song ended she applauded and smiled. "That was amazing. You're very talented."

Slade had forgotten the female was there, but as she appluded he looked up. "Thank you very much. I've been playing for a long time...I'm wondering." He said then stood before her, "What are you? You eat human food, and drink blood? I can hear a heart beat, barely but it is there." He said taking her chin in between his thumb and pointer finger.

Renee shrank back a bit as he stood before her. With her sitting and him standing over her it gave him a very powerful presence. His scent also filled the air between them making her want to reach up and touch him. She didn't however because she didn't know how he'd react to such a bold move.

When he'd asked her what she was Renee tried to give him an answer. It was harder atill because his touch was pleasantly distracting. She tried to remeber what it is that she was. Something told her that she was human once but she had changed somehow. The word for what she was now stayed just out of her grasp. Sighing heavily she gave Slade the best answer she could.

"I don't know what I am but I do know that I'm no longer human. I seem to have forgotten almost everything about myself." Renee wished she could tell him more.

Slade thought of this. He pondered of what she could be. She wasn't human, she had some Vampire traits but there are plenty of creatures who drink blood. he sat besides her and placed his head in his hands and began to think harder.

"If you don't mind would you allow me to taste your blood?" He asked with a sudden inspiration. Perhaps with a taste of her he could decipher something from it. He wasn't worried about what her reaction would be since he wasn't to worried if she left or not...Really he wanted her to stay, he missed the feeling of having another person in the mansion, especially a female.

Renee watched as Slade came and sat down beside her. He seemed to be in deep thought. Renee stayed silent so she wouldn't disturb him. When he asked if he could taste her blood Renee was a little taken aback. She felt like that act would be a personal one but then she relaxed. If it allowed her to figure out more about herself she would do it. Plus if it was Slade doing the drinking she didn't think she'd mind at all. "You may if it will help you tell me what I am." Renee then drew closer to Slade so that he had better access to her.

Slade jumped up and pressed her head to the side. He held her close and and sunk his teeth into her neck.

Renee gasped as his teeth sank into her flesh. It was a painful at first but then the pain quickly melted into pleasure. She felt as if her blood was on fire and racing through her vains warming the rest of her. Amidst the pleasure a strong memory surfaced.

She'd been in a situation like this before pressed against a powerful being as he bit her. There were differences though, she'd been human then and mortally injured. Renee realized that she was remembering when shed been turned. She cluthed the front of Slade's shirt. "Slade?" She managed only his name in a desperate moan. Renee was trying to get her thoughts together through the fog of pleasure but wasn't succeeding.

Grunting Slade pulled himself away from her. "Your a...Vampire? But I do not sense your powers or anything that would make you a vampire>" He said standing up in front of her. He did not wipe the blood from his face but stood there watching her.

Renee sat back in the chair and tried to regain her composure. She looked up at Slade her eyes still dark with pleasure. "So I'm a vampire but I don't have any of the powers? What does that mean? Is there something wrong with me?" Renee asked calmly letting all the facts sink in. Absent mindedly Renee touched her neck were he had bitten her. That's when a thought struck her. "Are you a vampire Slade?"

"Yes I am a vampire. You don't have your powers because most likely you didn't drink from your maker." Slade said sitting back down.

Renee nodded. "I think I remembered the moment I was bitten. I was badly injured and only partly concious. I don't think I was able to ate the time. Is my not having any powers going to be a problem?"

"You can't protect yourself. Even I could kill you, and I'm over 200 years old." Slade said with a small smile He placed a hand on her cheek. He wouldn't hurt her, she just wanted her to know.

Renee leaned into his touch cupping her hand over his. "Is there any way to change that?" The thought of being defenseless deeply unnerved her.
