(I suppose that would be where Mizu would come in since technically he's at the border of the Water kingdom and Earth kingdom and has been since my last post with him. XD)

Mizu immediately sat up from his carefree lounging when he thought he heard the voices of others. The water that had been forming random shapes at his will above splashed down back into the tainted water in the lake as he let his concentration slip. 'There shouldn't be any others here...that would mean another battle. That's just great and when I was hoping to just calmly relax for a bit' he thought with a sigh and removed his feet from the still red stained water.

He was a water elementalist so he stayed where he was so he could use the lake's water if need be, but it wasn't exactly necessary either. His sub element was blood and therefore was something that did make him rather dangerous.

Calmly he waited and was positioned to attack with the water beside him if it turned out to be someone that was a danger to him. He knew that earth elementalists weren't uncommon around here, after all it was their border too, and probably wouldn't hesitate to attack a water elementalist if they were on the side of their kingdom. He wasn't at all aware of the fact there were others who from all four kingdoms that had a secret resistance going on against their kingdoms and the war. He figured there were those who were on the side of the kingdom and then there were those, like him, that didn't wish to choose a side or fight in the war.

Aries was moved to hear that Kaji could possibly create something to slow down the eventual blindness that would overcome him but he did not want to risk a chance a letting fate take him before his time. Though it saddened him to hear, Aries understood the risks that were involved and respected the man's logistical reasoning. So he would no longer worry about Kaji's eyes, they were just another bump in the road when that time came. The golden eyed man was well due his honor and reverence.

Friendship. That was a word that lacked a clear meaning to him but Aries had a strong feeling that the bond that he felt with Kaji was what true friendship was suppose to be. The crimson eyed man felt a serene smile insert itself upon his face as he said, "To be perfectly honest with you I don't really know what a friend is but I can feel that with you I would discover the meaning of the word. I would be more than honored to be your friend." The aura of aggressiveness that usually surrounded Aries was long gone. He was truly at ease with Kaji now and he felt as though he could trust the man with his life. "Kaji, as long as this heart is beating in my chest you will always have a friend watching you back. This is my vow of friendship to you." Aries held that gentle smile and held his hand out as to make the friendship official.

Dawn swam with the fish for a while before going back to the wash. Her eyes closed as she washed her clothes and felt the cool water on her hands and body. "Such a wonderful day." She said softly before shying and standing up to go hang her clothes on the line. The lonely water girl hung her clothes on the line before walking into the house and drying off, sadly.

Kaji was fairly relieved that Aries understood his reasoning. He did not like that fact that someday his sight would be robbed of him and he would no longer be able to look at the crimson eyed man whom had gained his respect and friendship in such a short time. He did take heart though of the man's vow of friendship to him. So long as he had at least that he would still be able to 'see' Aries.

"I can fully understand. Friendship and friends are rarities in this kingdom, but as you believe that with me you can find the meaning of the words I too believe I can find them with you" he said with a calm smile. He believed the words he and Aries spoke fully and felt that indeed this is what a friend is. "I too return the vow you give to me, unto you. No matter what the future may hold so long as I still live, and perhaps after, I shall remain beside you as your friend" he said with a peaceful smile and gently took the crimson eyed man's hand to fully complete the vow. He could feel his new friend's aura more at ease now and in return truly relaxed as well as no doubts where in his mind about trusting the man known as Aries.

With their vow of friendship complete Aries was at ease and he could tell his new found friend was as well. Friendship was indeed a rarity in this kingdom and Aries understood that so he would cherish their friendship a lifetime long.

With all that had happened in a short amount of time this brought up another question in the crimson eyed warrior's mind, where did Kaji stand in on the war? "Kaji I'm curious... what is your take on this war? I have not taken sides as of yet because I have had little reason to choose to but if you have I will fight at your side without hesitation my friend." The man's face had taken on a more intense look as he was finally ready to commit to the war efforts if need be.

Kaji knew that he would also cherish the friendship that had officially been formed between the two men. It was the first time he had established such a bond with another person, and he assumed that perhaps for Aries it was a first as well based on their conversation.

He thought for a moment about his new friend's question about the war. What was his standing on it? "Quite honestly I'm not sure of my side at the moment either. I can't say that I exactly support the war that Vulcan has declared on the the other kingdoms, but I'm also not exactly prepared to attack my homeland either. I've been sent out occasionally to quell any forces from other kingdoms from proceeding forward for a direct attack, but even then I'm rather reluctant. If you decide to choose a side know that I too shall choose yours and stand by you" he answered calmly though carefully as his peaceful smile remained. He trusted his friend, but one never knew whom else could be listening in and see both he and Aries as a threat that needed to be eliminated. Most elementalists of the fire kingdom appeared that way in Kaji's eyes, and it had been proven quite a few times in the past with others.

Aries took in Kaji's words and carefully considered them. Where his new friend was not prepared to attack their homeland he himself did not care. This land had done very little for him and he was not all that fond of it either, but he had to admit if he were to fight someone it would be more interesting to test his limits against a foe outside his kingdom. Most fire elementalist knew of his and Kaji's abilities and would be rather reluctant to fight them but those other outside of this volcano are not quite as informed and would fight with all their might. This logic alone seemed to solve his issues as far as choosing sides. So it was decided Aries would side with his fire kingdom.

"Kaji I've carefully considered the options we have and have come to the conclusion that we should fight for our kingdom. If you wish to test your limits, as I do, against an opponent who will not hold back then honestly we have little choice in the matter. I personally have little connection with this land we call home but we have many men who know of our abilities here and that's not the case elsewhere. So I say we go to war with our kingdom." Aries smiled and the menacing aura he usually carried started to return as his blood began to boil for a fight.

Kaji considered Aries's logic and words carefully. Fighting for his kingdom also meant to essentially being a sort of 'dog' of King Vulcan. On the other hand the crimson eyed man did have a point. Many of the fire elementalists did know of their abilities and indeed would probably fall without much of a fight. It did indeed seem rather logical to side with the Fire kingdom in this war. Besides he had also just made a vow to this man that he would be by his side and choose whichever side he chose and if that was the Fire kingdom then so be it.

"So it would seem. After all if I do manage to complete the task I have set in creating a new technique I will have to have someone who is willing to put their all in a battle to fully test its capabilities. Plus this way there will be a place to return to once the battle is over" he said as his features remained calm and serene. He could feel the menacing aura once more returning to his friend. The thought of battle wasn't one that necessarily got him pumped up, but that didn't mean he wouldn't battle.

"Then it is agreed." Aries said with a hint of happiness in his voice. He smiled a serene smile at his friend once again then thought about their next course of action. The war was not mandatory effort on their part but Vulcan did expect those who could fight to do so. The crimson eyed man quietly thought aloud, "I'm not very fond of being a lackey... but the old man knows I can fight and so can Kaji, so I'm sure he would make us elites once we signed up..." The man was in deep thought for a moment as he contemplated how the ranking would work out but Vulcan didn't' particularly like Aries and it may not go the way it should. In the fire kingdom everything was about power so they should easily be made elites and take on the missions of importance but sometimes power does not outweigh favor. A look of disdain crept onto the face of the man as he became worried about having to work his way up because he lacked "favor".

"So it is" Kaji said still smiling his calm and serene smile. He too begun to think about their next course of action. His gaze went to the sky for a few moments before returning to the crimson eyed man when he spoke quietly. "More than likely. Even if that were not the case I know he'd more than likely put us together...though it may have to be requested. Vulcan isn't exactly one who...can sometimes see a good pair that would be beneficial. However a few stings pulled here and there and I'm sure he'd see it our way" he said calmly though he appeared quite confident in his words. Power was indeed something that was of importance in deciding the future for most elementalists and that favor too played an important key. Various circumstances had put Kaji slightly in the King's favor, as the fire arrow technique was one that was widely used by the fire elementalists that fought for him.

Aries had to admit that Kaji was right. Vulcan would indeed need to team Kaji up with a short ranged fighter for the best success and though he may not like it Aries may be the best short ranged fighter for the fire kingdom. The young man looked at his golden eyed friend then said "We should give him little choice. Logic is a hard obstacle to fight." He smiled at his friend then looked in the direction of the palace where Vulcan would be residing and decided it was time to make that trip and enlist for the war.

"True though it is Vulcan we're talking about. More than likely the first thing he'll do is attempt to pair us up with another and test us out. Though for you and I it shouldn't be much of a challenge" Kaji said calmly closing his golden eyes. He would indeed need to be paired with a close combat fighter, especially in Kaji's talents laid in ranged combat, and quite honestly he felt he wouldn't be able to fully cooperate with anyone other than the crimson eyed man. After all he had both respect and friendship of the man and knew that they could coordinate well. "I suppose the sooner we sign up the better" he said opening his eyes and gazing up where he knew their King resided as well as the rest of the fire elementalists.

"Well let him test us there's nothing he can make us do that can't be done. I think we have wasted enough time with idle chatter... shall we be on our way?" Aries gave his genius friend a smile of great confidence and turned and began making his way towards the palace knowing that his friend would follow. He knew that this would be the beginning of a partnership that would be remembered by all.

"That is true, I believe you and I could easily accomplish whatever it is he wishes to set forth in our path" Kaji said returning the confident smile to his friend. He truly believed that either one of them could easily complete whatever challenge Vulcan decided to give them. With the two of them he also believed that anything could be accomplished. He calmly followed after his friend as these thoughts went through his mind. By now his shirt, that had been previously off, was once again replaced and covering his torso once more, after all he and Aries were going to go see the king and sign up for the war.

As he and Kaji approached the palace the guards were all on high alert as Aries had a history of a few minor scuffles with some of the guards before. He held a serious face and his aura became more sinister than it generally was as he was getting agitated from all the nasty looks he was getting from the soldiers around them. He walked in the palace doors and requested to see Vulcan and signed his name on the waiting list. His mood was getting more sour by the minute as he remembered many of the reasons why he and the King didn't get along but there was no use in making a fuss or causing problems. They were here to become soldiers so he intended to act accordingly no matter how much it pained him to do so. He sat down and folded his arms across his chest and closed his crimson eyes and waited impatiently to be called.

Kaji's eyes returned to looking rather intimidating as he calmly approached the palace and making sure to be by Aries's side. He noticed that as they approached a fair number of guards began giving the crimson eyed many various nasty looks. He could easily feel the aura of his friend become more sinister as they became closer to the area of the palace where they would first have to wait and then see King Vulcan himself. As they continued he continued to notice the looks the guards gave his friend. After a while he began giving his own warning glares towards the guards who would dare to show such disrespect to the man he walked beside. He knew that either he or Aries could easily take out any if not all of the guards here.

After he shot a few more warning glares to a few more guards Kaji's golden gaze went to the crimson eyed man beside him. His gaze softened a bit, though it still seemed to hold somewhat of intent to intimidate in their eyes, it was clear though that it was mostly there to silence any guards and not actually directed towards his friend. He could tell the man's mood seemed to sour and gently put a reassuring touch on the man's arm for a brief moment as a way of expressing that he was there for him, before he too signed his name on the waiting list. Once that task was completed he calmly closed his eyes and waited patiently.
