"Let me change that - whatever you get, WITHOUT onions."
She laughed for a minute. "I don't feel in the mood for them right now. Hopefully you don't get lost. See you soon." |
With that Santo went downstairs and got into her car. It didn't take long before he spotted a Taco Bell. He was glad it wasn't McDonald's. He didn't mind Taco Bell so much but McDonald's was just terrible. He was hungry but not hungry enough to eat that swill. He opted for the drive through since it would be faster. He ordered about twenty taco's and ten burritos not knowing how hungry Rain was. He was hungry enough to eat more than half so he wasn't worried about it.
Once he got back he made sure not to lock her keys in the car and headed up to her room. "Hey I'm back. I got some soda's and a load of taco's and burrito's, no onions. I figured we could down most of them," he said setting the food on the table by the bed. He grabbed a taco and covered it in hot sauce downing it rather quickly. |
Hal absent-mindedly stroked Kitty's ears and tail...He could help it...they were soft...and fluffy...
She would be so pissed if she realized he was mess'n with her...He took his hands away and busied himself with puting his hair back in a braid... He chose to sleep in her chair for a bit, not that he was tired but seeing hers sleeping made him jealous and bored.... |
"Thanks."
She reached over and grabbed a taco, put taco sauce on the top of it, and began eating. "Mmmm.. food. Finally." She then started laughing uncontrollably, and then suddenly stopped. She resumed eating her food. |
He finished his taco and raised an eyebrow saying, "You sure you're okay girly? You seem a bit hysterical." He was actually worried since one usually didn't just burst out laughing for no reason.
|
"I'm fine. I was just thinking, I'm over here stuffing myself like a pig. I usually have better manners than this. I'm sorry. Overall, I think we should just keep eating and talk a little later."
She looked at him and smiled, and continued eating. |
"Sound like a plan to me," he said. It did not take him long to get through half of the items. He paused wondering if she would eat the other half or leave some left over.
|
After about the fifth taco, Rain stopped.
"I'm pretty full now. If you want the rest, be my guest." She giggled and took a soda, sipping through the straw. "Yum." She once again stopped. "Who's that guy you were talking to earlier? Is he another tenant here? If so, I'd like to meet him.. and the other tenants as well.. I'll have to schedule that somewhere." |
"Thanks. I tend to eat more than it looks like I can hold," he said with a laugh in his voice. He unwrapped another taco and put hot sauce on it. "Oh yeah that's Hal and I think out of all the tenants he has been here the longest though I'm not positive on that. Kitty talked about him so I think they're friends," he replied to her question. He took a bite of the taco.
|
"Thats nice."
She was unsure of what to say next. She studied the room they were in and found nothing peculiar or very interesting so she returned her attention to Santo. "Why do you wear shades all the time?" |
He finished the taco and took a drink from his soda. He leaned back and said, "It's more of a vain thing than anything. I have prescription glasses I am suppose to wear and shades look nicer to me. I have some very nice sunglasses for different suits. I also have regular glasses but I tend to only wear them when it get's too dark for shades. I can't help it but I am a bit of a peacock." He let out a little laugh and knew he was more than likely a little too vain for his own good but he liked looking nice.
|
"You should wear contacts. They're difficult at first but then you don't notice them later. I like them better - they don't slip every five seconds and you don't feel it at all."
Rain reached over the table and got her contact case, and popped in her sea blue contacts. They mixed with the hazel - pulling out the green and suppressing the brown, giving off a turquoise-ish color. "I told you I would show you about my contacts. See?" She leaned forward a bit so he could see. |
"I tried them but they weren't really my sort of thing. I don't mind touching my eye and all of that but glasses add a little something," he said laughing and adding, "Sort of like dressing up my face." If he blushed easily he would have but luckily he did not. He did get a bit embarrassed sometimes with how vain he was. Then again everyone had their vises.
He leaned forward and looked at her eyes saying honestly, "Very pretty. Nice choice in contacts really gives off a neat affect." |
Rain's breath hitched when he leaned closer. Slowly, she leaned backwards as he had gotten a good look. She didn't know how he felt about her, and she certainly wasn't going to risk trying anything.
"Yeah. I've always wanted blue eyes. It would look really cool. So when the eye doctor.. that's optometrist, right?... asked what color I wanted, we tried them on and he went crazy. Like pictures crazy. He was like.. 'I'm in love with your eyes.' Of course I hadn't seen them yet, so I was like what the crap? When I saw them, I didn't take them out for a few days. I really liked it." That's good.. Just keep talking to him... Slow down your breathing, he might notice. Good girl.. that's the way. |
"I'm glad you ended with this color. Blue is beautiful in it's own right but this definitely has a different spark to it. How long have you had them?" he asked not sure if she had already said or not.
|
"Oh, I've had them for about, five years? Every time they get messed up and I call my optometrist, he answers happily and always gives me discounts on them, but I tip him until they're the normal amount that they would be for any other person. It's pretty nice to get favors like that, makes a person feel better about themselves."
She began thinking of the hospital, how everyone thought he and Kitty were together. He seemed to really care about her, and didn't really reject it when the doctors and nurses asked them about their relationships... Face it. He likes her. There's nothing you can do. She sighed, and took a deep breath. Don't ask him about it! Oh geez, you stupid girl. |
"Yeah I've had mine for a few years as well," he said to her adding a bit about himself. He grabbed the last taco and began to eat it. He felt a bit like a starving teen ager but he had always been a big eater.
|
"You're not stuffed already? You should have exploded by now," she teased, and then smiled at him.
I've been smiling a lot lately. |
He let out a laugh and said, "Oh I know I eat a lot. People are always surprised I'm not a lot larger. I've always been this way though. I tend to burn through food rather quickly. I love Mexican food. Taco Bell isn't real Mexican but I do enjoy it. I like making home made tacos with lime and cilantro."
|
"Chipotle's pretty good. So is Panda Express. I'm in the middle of my chinese food phase at the moment. Haha."
Rain sat up now, propping her pillows back up. "Tell me a little more about you, though. I know we've talked a lot since we've met, but it still feels like we've just met still. Are you into girls or guys, or both?" She hadn't meant to ask that question, but it came out anyway. She immediately blushed. I've been blushing a lot lately, too... |
"I like Chinese food as well but I tend to eat a lot of Thai," he responded. Honestly he liked most food and was always willing to try new things. He was a little surprised at the boldness of her next question though. He noticed the blush and wondered if she was interesting in him. He said, "I'm bisexual actually. I find there are beautiful and wonderful things about both sexes. It just depends on the person." He figured since she asked that there would be no harm in asking her in return, "What about yourself?"
|
"The same for me. I was just thinking about earlier, when Hal said something about you being his lover and it just stuck."
Her blush deepened, and she wondered if he'd figured out that she liked him yet. |
He was pretty certain now how she felt and he felt badly. He was not the type to rush into things. Heavens he had just met Hal, Cove, Kitty and her yesterday. He did not know any of them well enough to know if he wanted to have more. He said calmly, not showing anything,"Hal was just making a joke about pretending to be his lover. I know the doctors as well were saying things about Kitty and I but it isn't true. I just meet everyone yesterday and that is hardly enough time to know how I feel about anyone just yet." He hoped this would let her know that he just simply did not know anyone well enough to have feelings just yet.
|
"Oh. I see. I tend to fall pretty quickly. I usually snap out of it though, sometimes, I guess."
She bit her lip. She was right. He didn't like her. |
He felt bad knowing that he had hurt her regardless. He said softly and smiled, "Every person is different and that's what makes this world so wonderful." He let out a gently laugh and continued, "I just tend to be slow about more than a few things. It drove my mother crazy." He tried to lighten the mood and hoped it would get her mind on other things.
