[ Sorry. ._____. I got Snow Leopard, and after I updated my laptop I couldn't back anything up. So I lost all my links, pictures, songs documents and everything else. I've been piecing everything back together. I gave up though. :| ]

Cove glanced over Rain, "Soda?" He said with a smile walking over to her. Pocketing one hand he rubbed the back of his neck. "So..I know a lady's "never reveals her age", but uhhhh..how old are you now?" He smiled a little, pocketing his other hand now standing a few feet away from her.

[[Aww.. I'm sorry about that.]]
Rain laughed and went to the kitchen area, holding up two cans. "Twenty. I really don't understand why you can't ask a woman's age. What's an age do in this world? Allow you to drink, get in clubs, is that all there is to age?" She smiled at him softly, trying to keep up the conversation. She closed the fridge with her foot and walked back to him, handing him one of the sodas. "How old are you?"

[ Yeahhh. :\ The way I look at it now is...new year, fresh start for my laptop. ]

"Yeah, I never got that either." Cove shrugged, with a smirk. "How you gonna know if you're meeting someone close to your ageee?" He took the soda from her, opening it and taking a sip. "Thank you. Hmmm. I think its 21? I really don't remember." He shrugged again, taking a few more sips from his soda. "I'm twenty-two. Turning 23 in a few months." Cove had never really talked about his birfday before.

"Exactly! Hahaha, or write it on our foreheads..." He walked towards her couch, and sat down. "People always think I'm younger. Someone once thought I was sixteen when I was twenty." Cove drank some more of his soda. "Ahh. I'm bad at making decisions. But talkings fine with me until we think of something. I don't really bore easy." He hummed, resting his head back for a moment then turning his head back to look at her. "I only get bored when I'm alone."

[ Internet went out JUST as I clicked "post quick reply". >___< ]

"Yeah, I do. First I learned guitar. Then learning other instruments became easier." Cove made a piano playing motion with his hands. "Yeah, I have a keyboard sitting in the corners of my apartment. After I left my band, all I did was play it." Finishing off his drink, "Do you play anything?" He was always interested in knowing what other people could do.

[[Yeah. My computer is messing up too O_o]]

Rain nodded. "That's cool. I play piano, and guitar as well. I was in the middle of learning the drums, and I wish I could have that opportunity again, the drums are interesting to me." She wasn't expecting him to say he could play a keyboard, and she was a bit suprised. She took another sip of her drink and watched as Cove finished his. "Would you like another one? I have a ton in the fridge." She chuckled to herself. She sat the cup down and rolled her arms above her head and then behind her, hearing her joints pop. "Sorry, I didn't stretch at all today." She was expecting him to ask if she was double-jointed, because most people did. Then again she could tell Cove wasn't like most people.

[ Weirdddddd. ]

"Thats really awesome." Cove gave her a thumbs up, "Drums I never really got a chance with actually. I hope you get that opportunity again." He thought more a minute if he did. "Yeah, another soda'd be cool. Thanks." He stood up walking towards the fridge. "You want one?" Cove asked her turning his head to her. "Nah, its okay. I usually going running everyday. I haven't gone in quite awhile."

"Okayyyy." Cove opened her fridge and took out two cans. Closing it, he walked back of to the ouch and sat so he could face her. Opening it, he took a few sips right away. "Thats really cool. I just work in a bookstore. I like books...so why nooooot? Ya'know?" Then he made a face, "During our down time when theres no costumers, I hide away in the aisles and sit on the floor and read. Sometimes take a nap, ahaha. My boss thinks its funny. But he also gets mad sometimes."

Cove laughed a little, "I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same way sometimes. I don't think you're mean. You're way too nice." He closed his eyes his for a moment, then opened them when her phone rang. "Annoying people calling?" He smirked, drinking his soda.

Hal's breath caught in his throat when a body collided with his own. He threw the person off his back and held his fists up, prepared for anything.

"Hally!" It was just that girl.

"Anastasiya" Hal sighed and looked her over. "you've grown up eh? Take my place?" The girl looked mortified. "No way! That would never happen!" Hal just rolled his eyes. Ana was only 13 anyway, she wouldn't be as great an interest...

"I've gotta see the boss, I'll come see you later, 'kay?"
"kay..."
Behind him, the woman snorted. "You realizes she's had the biggest crush on you since last year? All she can talk about is 'Hal this' 'Hal that'. I'm surprised no one blew her head off yet. The Boss in particular."

Hal gave her a sullen look and kept going up the stairs.

"Ha, yeah. My phone rarely rings anymore." He shurgged, it didn't really bother him. Cove had friends here in the apartment and thats all he needed. "Yeah, its okay." He smiled, finishing his second can of soda. "Wow! Thats lame. You're lucky you get off for your birfday though. Theres never anybody to cover for me so I can take off, or ever any chance for me too. And I always feel guilty calling fakesick. I crumbled and run into work, begging for my boss to forgive me." He laughed thinking about the view he had done it. Cove reached for the other can he had taken out and opened it, immediately taking a few sips. "He has me make up for it sometimes when I do. He's kinda...creepy."

The two continued climbing up stair case after stair case until the reached the stop of the stairs leading to the attic. Hal knocked four times, pausing between the 3rd and 4th, before wrenching the door open. There were at least 50 people there, each with their own unique features...From cotton candy mohawk to a face covered in little scars, even a teenage girl with the bottom half of her face burned.

But the most important person to him stood in the very center of the room, stonily issuing orders to the others on what exactly to do before that guy arrived.

"Papa!" Hal Called over the din. The messy red head flicked around to look at him and brown eyes smiled lightly at him. "Hal," the smooth voice said. "Look at you, you're still growing aren't you...we didn't feed him that much did we Iskra?"

The woman that had followed Hal up the stairs shook her head with a smirk. "Nope, must take after you Anastas...Though.." Hal was slipping off his jacket when Iskra leapt forward and started tweaking him around the waist. "He also seems to get skinnier and skinnier each year!" Hal knocked her hands away but not before squealing in surprise. Several of the people around them chuckled and giggled.

"Has he arrived yet?" Hal asked his 'Papa'.
"No," Anastas replied while becoming serious again. "The cops have been looking for him since we raided a few other gangs, someone knocked over some gasoline, dropped a smoke and set the whole block on fire...naturally we're the only ones getting the fuzz on our backs...Val will get here soon enough..."

Hal laughed, "So now your on first name basis? Good work Papa, here I thought I'd be alone forever."

With that everyone went to work preparing for the special guest...

((POST DAMN'YALL POST! I wanted to keep this in the manga only but I have to throw it all here cuz the thread ish dy'n...))

Rain smiled. "Creepy how?" She laughed inside her head at the thought of Cove asking his boss to forgive him. It was funny, seeing as she didn't expect someone like Cove to do that. Her hands flitted across the keyboard of her laptop, looking back up at Cove every few seconds to let him know she was still paying attention. There was the same woman she had just been talking about demanding her picture, and Rain wrote an email for her.

Dear Abagail,

I have taken the past two days off from my job since it is my birthday today. I can see you tomorrow at four o' clock, but your picture will not be done until around six o' clock if you would like it detailed and of my best work.

Please, you must understand that there comes a time where an artist like myself needs time to themselves, and I'm sure Picasso didn't deal with drawing every minute of his time. Have patience, and be grateful that I am drawing you out of well over fifty people and growing that would wait to have themselves drawn by me. I can not deal with you all at once and every now and then I need a break.

Rain snorted and sent the email, not caring at this point if she was being rude. She opened another email message from her friend, Derrick, that wanted one of him and his girlfriend done. Seeing that he was online, she opened her IM and typed a quick message.

Seriously, Derrick? Only to have her leave and end up with another picture to cry over, like the ten you have already?

Rain waited, and in a couple seconds she had a 'ding' noise and checked it.

Ha ha, Rain. Very funny, little girl. You know I'm still waiting for you, though. ;]
You know that won't happen, silly goose.
Either way, I'm all yours.
Whatever. Tell your girl I'll be over tomorrow.
Why tell her? If you're coming over tomorrow then I'd rather have you alone.

Rain laughed out loud, knowing Derrick was just joking. She looked over at Cove and covered her mouth. "Sorry," she squeaked, blushing a bit from embarrassment.
