The assassin lifted his trembling hand and pointed underneath his bed then said quietly, "I have a first aid kit under the bed there all I think I need is the pain pills out of it and I should be fine." his voice was shaky and his eyesight was fading in and out. The drow figured he was about to either pass out from the pain or exhaustion either way he would be asleep in a moment but he didn't want to wake up feeling this throbbing in his head so he would endure for a bit longer.

Esmme 12-10-2009 10:54 PM

Selene nodded, and scrambled to comply. Digging around, the noble pulled the kit out from under the bed, bringing it over to the assassin. Pulling out the bottle of pills, she popped it open and withdrew a few. Holding them tightly, Selene dashed over to where her glass of water had been sitting and brought it to Areyse.
"I'm Selene," she whispered worriedly, holding the pills to his lips. "Just stay awake until you swahllow these, Areyse." Supporting the dark elf's head, Selene moved to sit beside him. When she was able to get the medicine into his mouth, the woman reached down to grab the glass of water and hold it to his lips. "Drink," she said, "swallow before you rest."

Marsyas 12-10-2009 11:06 PM

Areyse took the pills and drunk the water thanks to Selene. He was thankful for all her help and he struggled to get up and walk to his bed. He looked over again to the folder that had been slid underneath his door and he straggled over to it and picked it up and placed it on the dresser next to his bed. He opened one of his drawers and pulled out a container and opened it up, he pulled out a contact and placed it in his left eye giving it the same shade of red as his right. Then he put the container up and he laid down and right before he closed his eyes he motioned for Selene to come over to his side and said, "Thank you for everything." The elven assassin then closed his eyes and drifted into a deep slumber.

Esmme 12-10-2009 11:19 PM

Selene smiled shakily when Areyse thanked her, and sat on the edge of his bed as he drifted off. Sighing quietly to herself, she readjusted the blanket over him as he lay still.
The woman watched the assassin's breathing deepen, and frowned slightly when he shifted in his sleep. Reaching down, she used a pale hand to move his silver hair away from his wound. I may as well do something about it.
She dug around in the first aid kit, pulling out a clean cloth and dipping it into her water. Ever so carefully, she leaned down and began to clean Areyse' temple. When she finished, it looked little better . . . but at least Selene felt better about it.
Gazing at the dark elf, she tentatively let her hands run through his long hair. Life can be so unfair to the best of us. Lord, please say he's alright.

A hand broke through the dark realm of sleep and landed gently over Darius' mouth. "Just stay quiet. It's the red head from the tavern. Now. Do you want to help me kill Cain? If so, nod and do not get any other help yet. Unless you think that we need it of course."

This time it was easier to come to his sense and he sat up straight, moving to push her hand away from his face. "What do you think you're doing? You were going to try this alone? You don't even know what he looks like, much less where he is." Darius whispered back to her. The fact that they were outside of his office only added to his frustration. For never having been in this guild house before, or knowing Cain, she must have had some serious dumb luck to find his office so quickly. It really unnerved him.

Darius took a moment before hissing at her again "We can't do this tonight, it's too rash and we have no plan. There's a reason why he's the head of a guild of assassins, you know." The rider shook his head at the girl "You need to learn some patience."

Raeillieagh 12-11-2009 12:06 AM

Rae Saer just sat there watching him with mild amusement. She wasn't stupid. She knew that the guild leaders had a habit of keeping their offices on the first floor of the building that they were inhabiting. Once he was done reprimanding her, she chuckled softly. This should get interesting.

"Just so you know, I did guess. But as far as I would have known had I not been watching, Cain could have his office in the middle of nowhere. But I know that isn't true, because I watched each of the others walk into his office, and him yell, and them come back out with assorted things wrong with them. As for a plan. Well, I was hoping to catch him sleeping. Unless you have a better idea. I mean, no one in their right mind would attack the guild master in his own guild."

She glared at the man that had tried to tell her otherwise. She tended to act ignorant so that the others wouldn't realize what she was hearing. She always kept the things most important to others in her mind so that she would have it when the time arose.

Daeman35 12-11-2009 01:51 AM

"No. Just a couple hits against the wall. A good sleep or something should help with that. Its not like he cut me. Did he really just stick a blade in and twist? Ouch. But it looks like he only did it once and that was about all he did to you." She finished stitching it up and cut the thread with her teeth after tying it up. She put the needle back in her kit and got up. She grabbed the ointment and put them both up on his dresser. "relax for a minute im going to try something." She went to his back side and started to press her fingers to his back cracking a few stressed parts which loosened him up. She looked at the wounds that hadnt healed before the battle and got up going back to the dresser. She took the wrap out and went back to him. Starting to wrap it around his chest to cover the wounds she started to speak. "Why do you think hes getting so soft all of a sudden? Its a little odd. Not that i dont like it but its just odd"

Esmme 12-11-2009 03:16 AM

"I think he's preoccupied," the assassin said, sighing. "Distracted." Atticus reached up to grab her hand, halting her process. "Dae," he said slowly, "you sure know how to catch someone off-guard." His gray eyes closed. "Perfect assassin." He let out a shuddering sigh, and let go of her hand. "Let's just hope that Cain stays distracted. I don't want his eyes on any of us."
He let out a deep breath, keeping his eyes closed. "Why do you help me, Dae? Why bother?"

Daeman35 12-11-2009 03:21 AM

"why do you help me dae? Why bother?" The questions wernt as shocking as him calling her a perfect assassin. "I help because ive known you since we were kids. Ive always helped you. I hate seeing you in pain and you hate being in pain. You know your not alone. Ill be here to help till the day i die" She looks at him then finishes up the wrapping. "That should hold and help heal most of your wounds. What do you mean by catching people off guard. I didnt catch you did i?"

Esmme 12-11-2009 03:37 AM

Atticus opened his eyes slowly to stare at Daeman for a few moments. "No," he murmered, "you didn't." The assassin reached up to touch the bandage that the woman tied around him. He let his eyes trail over to the folder that rested beside his bed. For once, he decided to wait. It could wait.
Leaning over, the half-elf kissed Daeman's forehead. "Thank you," he said, watching her. "Thank you again, Dae."

Daeman35 12-11-2009 03:39 AM

Daeman blushed a little as the man had half kissed her forehead. She didnt know what to say to that. She stood still and then looked at him. She snapped out of the slight trance she was in and smiled a little. "You know its not a problem. Do you need any food?"

Esmme 12-11-2009 03:48 AM

"I," Atticus paused, frowning. He was about to object. "I would appreciate it if you would bring me something."
It would give him time to read what was in the folder from Cain, as well as time to replace his mask of neutrality.

Daeman35 12-11-2009 03:56 AM

She saw his frown. "Are you sure you want me to? I can stay if you want." Daeman looked at him in absolute sincerety. "Maybe we could go to.... nevermind." She didnt know what to do. They couldnt go together cuz people would suspect something was up. Most of the guild fought eachother or played against the others. She looked at him. "Ill let you read your mission while i get you some food. Any special requests?"

Esmme 12-11-2009 05:24 AM

"Preferably something warm," Atticus replied, letting his face smooth into a neutral mask. "And I will read while you are gone. Hurry back."
The assassin cleared his throat and rolled his shoulders, snagging his shirt from the bed and pulling it back on. "I'll be waiting."

Daeman35 12-11-2009 03:54 PM

Daeman left his room trying to make it so no one noticed. She started to walk down the hall with complete athority in her step just to show the others they couldnt touch her. She got the the spiraling steps and started to walk down them. She hit the first floor and kept going down so that she could get to the kitchen. When she walked in she smiled. Daeman had friends down here. The cooks were alot nicer than anyone treated them. They were also assassins but if you were nice enought to them or if you were their friends they would make something for you to eat. She walked up to one. "Hey Tyler. Can i get some hot good food for my friend?"

Tyler was the kitchen boy training as an assassin but also an incredible cook. He looked at her. "Hey Dae. Sure ill get you something." He was always down in the kitchen after a mission. Something about cooking always calmed him and Daeman knew this. "So your mission was a messy success i hear. Well your friends anyways."

"Yeah... We got caught up in the tavern as it closed down. Some of the men attacked after the target was taken down. Then the city guards came into it. What a blood bath." She looked at the only cut she got from a knife being thrown from the mans hands as Areyse cut his neck. It was on her leg but she let it slide. It was only minor.

"I heard... So thats why it went so bloody... Well at least it doesnt look like he did anything bad to you." He finished the food and she took it. "Thanx for the food Ty" Daeman starts to head upstairs as he smiles. She stops and opens the job she got. A captain huh? Ill worry about that later. She headed to Atticus' room.

Freebie Fairy 12-12-2009 08:49 PM

The man shook his head and whispered "He'll be just as hard to get through in his sleep as he is awake. It'll have to be more elaborate than that, kiddo."

"Wait... you said each of the others? You mean Atticus?" Darius had lost his soft tone as he stood up. If Atticus had come and gone from Cain's office, that means that he did miss him... he missed his chance to help his comrade. "If that bastard tore him up again... Come on!"

Darius stormed down the hall, gnashing his teeth together. Why was it that Atticus was separating himself from Darius now? What did Darius do to cause this? Was it leaving for so long? Was that really so long for the half-elf, anyway? "I had to go!" the rider grumbled to the hallway. "Dumb little half-sie thinks I wanted to be away for that long to earn myself another name or something? Damn it..."

After some navigating through the halls of the guild house Darius found Atticus' door and knocked harshly. To an on-looker on both sides of the door he wouldn't have appeared as a friend.

Raeillieagh 12-12-2009 11:15 PM

Rae nodded as Darius spoke. She had waited long enough to watch each of them at least come out. "Yea. Atticus was pretty beat up lookin' when he came back out." She shook her head a little bit.

Hurrying after Darius, she tried to keep up with him. "So I'm guessing that you're in. Alright, if you want something more elaborate, we can do that." She had just wanted to make sure he was in first. She knew that the real plan would be afterwards.

Esmme 12-13-2009 09:20 PM

Atticus grit his teeth as the pounding on his door roused him from his assignment. Replacing the letter into its folder, the half-elf slowly stood and opened the door, glaring at Darius. "Yes?" he hissed, his gray eyes narrowed in pain. The headache that had suddenly sprang up was driving him insane, and having someone beating his door down helped nothing.
He stood in the doorway with a slightly irritated expression on his face, but Atticus waited for Darius to speak.

Daeman35 12-13-2009 09:43 PM

Daeman had seen the others at his door as she came down the hall with the food. She pushed passed all of them and went into the room. "Your food is here." She sat on the bed knowing Atticus was pretty ticked off. She needed to get him to eat soon or something so he wasnt so mad. "Your food will get cold. Let them in so you can eat"

Esmme 12-14-2009 05:32 AM

Atticus let Daeman brush past him, but kept his gray eyes on Darius and the girl. Finally, he sighed slightly and nodded them in, opening the door wider. Moving to sit beside Dae, the assassin raised an eyebrow.
"What did you need, Darius?" Atticus looked to Rae. "And who's this?"

Daeman35 12-14-2009 05:35 AM

Daeman looked between the two that were there then looked at Atticus' folder. She had seen what was in her folder and it was now in her bag which was on her back. She leans back on her hands watching the two. Her face and eyes show no emotion as she waits to hear the answers from the two standing in the doorway.

Freebie Fairy 12-14-2009 08:48 AM

What remained of Darius' stern side melted away. "I wanted to make sure you were alright... Was I sleeping? How could I have slept through this? You're completely torn up and he must have been bellowing." Clearly bothered by the state of the half-elf, he moved toward Atticus. The bloody cloth, needles and threads appeared above what left in Atticus' room. They had been freshly used on his friend's battered frame to patch him together once again like an unfortunate rag doll.

Darius felt emotion rushing out of him. Here was his friend, beaten and abused as if he were some kind of object made for neglect. He pited and felt for him, but mourned for the fracture he was finding in his friendship. Darius had come to the village and guild expecting to obtain tight bonds with his allies and fellow warriors as they did in the North, and to see a brother at arms in such a state was devastating. He boiled inside, steam coming to his eyes, and soon nothing left to him but outrage.

"Damn it, I can't let a man do this to you! I can't watch you be hurt in this way. Tell me what I can do to fix this, Atticus, or I'll have to kill that man!" The human's hands were balled into tight fists, making his knuckles white as the bones hidden underneath. He shook his head "She's after him too. I don't know her name."

Esmme 12-14-2009 09:27 PM

Atticus' stern facade faltered, and he seemed to revert to a more confused state. When Darius stepped toward him, the half elf backed away.
"Tell me what I can do to fix this, Atticus, or I'll have to kill that man!"
The assassin paled slightly, taken aback by his old friend's words. He still cares. The thought struck yet another chord in him. Even here, he was not alone.
Atticus stood still, unmoving as he let his gray eyes flicker over Darius. He hadn't changed - he was still the same old honorable, noble man with a straight sense of morals. If only Atticus could say the same.
"She's after him too."
His long ash-brown hair flowed about his shoulders as the half-elf turned away from them, stepping over to the folder that rested on his bed. Glaring at the new assignment, Atticus hissed under his breath. This was his chance to choose loyalties to another side - to his friends. But life was uncertain down that path. Even if he knew his existence was miserable, Atticus knew what to expect in the position he was in - it would be completely different if he chose the other road. Uncertain.
Atticus' expression hardened.
"Watch what you're saying, Darius," he hissed, a half-hearted threat in his eyes. The hatred that glowed in his eyes was not directed to his old friend, but to Cain himself. Even if he did choose to help Darius and this stranger bring the leader down, someone else would end up using him again. Life was best unchanged.
"Don't threaten his life," the assassin hissed, grabbing his cloak off of the bed, "not if you wish to keep yours." Flinging his gray mantle about his shoulders, Atticus kept his eyes on the floor. Brushing past Daeman and Darius, as well as the stranger, he slipped out of the room.

He had made his choice.

((Bet no one really saw that coming. :sarcasm:))

Daeman35 12-14-2009 09:49 PM

((That wasnt too hard to see coming))

Daeman saw the anger in his eyes and glared at Darius who had spoken out of turn about Cain. Though Atticus didnt like Cain didnt mean he wasnt loyal to him. Why was everthing going so screwy all of a sudden? Atticus chose his path its time for me to choose mine. Daeman got up and started to follow him. Though she wanted to know the old ways and sometimes she wanted to kill Cain she knew where her loyalty lied and she wasnt going to back down from it. I will follow the old ways, but i will follow it under Cains rule. She looked at Atticus and walked the other way to the window that was looking out to the guards tower. Time to do her assignment. Daeman went to the window opening it and jumped out onto a building. She jumped from roof top to roof top quickly quietly and unseen. She heard rustling as she saw the captains quarters. This was the one she must kill in the name of her guild. He must be leading some kind of rebellion against Cain. She slipped in through the window next door. No one was in the room so she looked out into the hallway. She walked past the door to his and opened it quietly.

((You can play the captain if you want or else ill just kill him))

Esmme 12-14-2009 10:21 PM

((LOL, yeah. I know it's hard to tell, but it was sarcasm I was speaking in. *laugh* I'll play the captain, but one moment. I have to remember what he looks like and stuff. *sigh* Ah, yes. I think you can kill him off, if you wish it. It will aid Cain in gaining higher ground in the city. Taking out the captain of the guard and replacing him with a guild member will bring the city's security down to almost nothing, thus giving Cain more rule. On the other hand, if you choose to leave Jaggery alive . . . it will aid Darius and the resistance.))

The captain sighed, brushing aside the rest of the papers he was going through. Things had taken a dramatic turn in the city . . . Cain's guild was rising in power, and it was a constant effort to keep them under control.
Jaggery stood, running a hand through his graying hair, and rubbed his eyes. Perhaps it was time to call it a night. Reaching over, he snuffed the candle and stepped over to his bed. Within a few moments, he was sinking into sleep - dressed, uncovered, and completely worn out.
