He smiled and nodded. "Alright. I'll get the money together as this place gets going. Even spread of as many Cheese and Pepperoni pizzas as we can afford, and maybe some sodas for the Designated Drivers of the evening?" He thought of Kyle, who would be taking care of Kevin and Josh tonight. Kyle never drank, promising he'd stay sober till 21, so he always acted as DD for the four of them.

"Go for it." she said as she grabbed her radio. She plugged it in the wall and blasted the music, making the house shake. "Now it's a party!" she said as more people POURED in.

After about an hour, Kenshin had rounded up the cash and ordered out for about 3 dozen pizzas and a bunch of Sodas. Once they were delivered, he broke out the liquor and started to drink. It was about two hours later that he was sitting on the couch, close to wasted, and laughing at almost everything the comedian on Comedy Central was saying, even though his jokes were terrible.

Alex could hear him laughing from the kitchen so she walked out to the living room to see if everything was okay. She sat on his lap and smiled. "How drunk are you? Anyway, wanna go get me my swimsuit and your trunks so we can go hang out in the pool?" she asked as she winked at him a little.

((Sure.))

He blinked, trying to concentrate on her. "No, no, I don't think I should swim. I've been hitting these pretty hard." He frowned, trying to concentrate on her. "Think I might, might, call it soon." He waited for her to get off of him before standing, swaying slightly.

"Well, you can sleep in my room. Good night hun." she said as she kissed his cheek. She sat down on the couch and watched the comedian, who she thought was terrible.

He nodded, then headed off up the stairs, using the walls around the house to help him along. As he climbed the stairs, a girl at the top spotted him. She was sitting on railing, but hopped down in the way of him as he approached. "Hey, Kenny, long time no see!"

Kenshin almost fell backwards down the stairs. "Huh, wha, Sarah? What are you doing here?" He leaned against the rail, blinking lazily. "I, I thought you were back in Colorado?"

She smiled at him as she grabbed his hand, dragging him up the stairs. "Well, I was, but I'm in town for a few weeks while my parents are going through their usual attempt at rebuilding their marriage." She tugged him towards the bedrooms.

He shook his head, trying to clear it. "Oh, oh yeah, right. Sorry, about that, I know, you know, that you're not, good about, that."

She giggled. "Jeez-us, Kenny, you are wasted? What's the matter, personal trouble? I know what will make you feel better. How about once more, for old times sake. I wasn't ready to go all the way last year, thought I was too young, but fuck it, if my parents could have me at my age, why can't I at least sleep with the only guy who really loved me?"

He blinked, confused. "What, I was, just, going, some sleep." He motioned to Alex's door, and Sarah giggled again.

"Don't worry, Kenny, I'll help you get to sleep." She dragged him into the room he motioned to, and pushed him onto the bed, letting her hair fall down. She kissed him, and after a moment, Kenshin pulled her closer, kissing her as deeply as she was. She reached back, flipping the lock closed, then pushed him back on the bed with a smile.

The next morning, because she couldn't get in her room, she had passed out on the couch, successfully getting everyone out except the two in her room and Kenshin, who she had lost somewhere in the house, or possibly gotten a ride home from someone. She walked up to her parents' room and walked through the bathroom they shared to her room. "All right, get out, g--" she stopped when she realized it was Kenshin and his slutty ex-girlfriend. She paused for a second, then smacked the door into the wall, leaving a dent in the wall. "Kenshin, I don't want to know why you're holding your naked ex-girlfriend in your arms, and I'm not going to ask, get the FUCK out of my house. If you really cared, you would be panicking about the fact that your condom broke, and now I'm pregnant. Yeah, you heard me, your child is in my stomach, I don't care what shit you had in your body at the timed you fucked this whore, but it must have been some strong shit because you actually cared for me. Oh, wait, that can't be right because you're holding a NAKED GIRL IN YOUR ARMS! Now let me direct you to the door." she said as she pointed to the other door.

Kenshin awoke with a start, looking around blearily, then grasped his head. He looked down at Sarah, then in horror at Alex, then back at Sarah as she was also looking around for the source of the noise.

Kenshin leapt up, wrapping a blanket around himself as he scrambled out of bed. "Wait, Alex, this isn't- I don't- I'm not-" He looked at Sarah again, then back at Alex in shock. "Wait, WHAT?! You're Pregnant And You Didn't Tell Me!! Why Didn't You Tell Me You Found Out!!"

Sarah got up quietly, slipping on her clothes, and slinked towards the door, hoping to avoid a confrontation.

Alex didn't care that Sarah left, in fact she was glad. "If you talk to Kenshin ever again I'll find you and cut off your 3 friends you used to take advantage of my drunk boyfriend!" she hissed as Sarah ran away. "And as for you," she said as she glared at Kenshin. "Yes, I'm pregnant, and apparently, I'll be handling it on my own. But don't try to turn this around on me, I was going to tell you in a couple of weeks to take off the stress, but I guess you had your ways of reducing stress." Alex sighed and started walking away with tears streaming down her face. "Kenshin, if you didn't love me, you didn't have to tell me you did, you didn't have to go on that date with me in the first place, I can't believe I fell for this shit." she said.

Kenshin held his hands up, moving in front of her. "NO! Listen to me!" He dropped a hand to pull the sheet up again, "Please, Alex, listen to me. I do, I do love you. I don't know what happened last night, I didn't even know Sarah was back in town!" He looked at her as she retreated down the stairs quickly, then back at Alex. "We never slept together, and I can't believe we would randomly last night." He put a hand to his head. "God, I wish I hadn't drank so much. My head is pounding." He looked back up at her, pleadingly. "Please, Alex, you've got to believe that I wasn't lying to you, that I'm not now." He watched her, trying to stay in front of her to keep her from walking away.

Alex just shook her head and refused to face him. "I don't care what you did, what your intention was, what you remember, or why you even invited her if you thought she was still in Colorado. You made me pregnant then run off with your ex, yeah, you love me so much, I can see it. I know you weren't lying, but you avoided me last night, that's the only reason I needed this party was to get that baby off my mind. Now I have you and that baby, I'll probably just get an abortion even though I promised myself I would never do that, I don't want my child to have a bad father. Oh, and by the way Kenshin, I was a virgin, WAS!! I thought I loved you, and that you loved me just as much, but no. No, no, no, no!!" she screamed. She fell over on the couch bawling her eyes out on it.

Kenshin held out a hand, but couldn't stop her, and slouched against the wall, listening to her cry in the next room. After a few minutes, he dragged himself back to her room and got dressed. When he was ready, he pulled out his phone and dialed Kevin. "Hey, Kev, it's me. Yeah, I know it's early, but I need a ride. No, I don't care if you have school, just skip a day, I need someone I can trust to talk to." He waited for a few moments, then nodded. "Alright, I'll see you when you get here." He hung up the phone and walked downstairs. He went over to her, sitting on his knees near the couch. "Listen, Alex, I'm sorry, ok? If you don't want to hear me out, then I won't make you, but you have my number if you want to talk. I want to make this right with you, and I do love you." He looked at the ground, then up at her. "Please, don't do anything rash with yourself, ok? I don't want you doing something we will both regret, not until we get a chance to talk." He stood up. "I'm going to go. Be safe, and take care." He turned and headed for the front door quickly.

Outside, he kicked the mailbox post, gritting his teeth. "DAMN IT, Kenshin, DAMN IT! What the FUCK where you thinking?!" He sat down, hard, on the corner, and waited for Kevin, burying his face in his hands.

Alex didn't even bother to clean up the mess, it wasn't that big of a mess and her parents probably wouldn't care. She was going to say goodbye, but he was gone. She sighed and sat up, even though she laid right back down. She cried for 2 hours straight, until there was nothing left for her to cry out of her body. Her world was falling apart in the palm of her hands, and to think Kenshin had done that in his girlfriends room, odd. Later that day, she ripped everything off her bed including the mattress, and laid under her bed. She cried herself to sleep, then woke up the next morning and pulled out her phone. She looked at Kenshin's name on her phone, taking about 5 minutes to decide to call him. She finally did. "-Sniff- Hey...uh...Kenshin." she whispered.

Kenshin was laying in bed at home. He hadn't slept since last night, despite the fact his body was screaming at him too. The images of Alex screaming and crying at him, and the conversation he'd had with Kevin yesterday afternoon, kept repeating themselves in his head.

When Kenshin had been picked up, he had Kevin take him to grab something to eat. As they sat at the Wendy's, Kenshin had chewed his burger with an absent minded stare. "Hey, Kev, how long has your cousin been back in town?"

Kevin looked up, surprised. "Well, god, not long. About three days, why?" Kenshin set his burger down. "You know we went out, right?" Kevin had nodded. "Yeah, sure, she was crazy for you till you broke it off with her. Why did you, anyway? She was heartbroken when she left for Colorado."

Kenshin nodded. "Colorado. It was to long a distance for a relationship, and, well, we kind of almost went all the way with each other." Kevin's jaw dropped in shock, but Kenshin held up his hands. "We didn't, because she didn't want to 'be her mother', but I told her that we shouldn't commit to something we wouldn't follow through on, a relationship or otherwise." He took a deep breath, and look up at Kevin again. "Your cousin ambushed me at the party last night. She caught me headed to Alex's room to get some sleep, and, well, I guess she slept with me."

Kevin stood up, shocked, then sat down hard again with realization. "Jesus, dude, what happened? Did Alex find out?!" He kept his voice low, glancing nervously around the restaurant. Kenshin nodded. "Yeah. I don't think she knew I was dating someone, cause the Sarah I knew wouldn't have done something like that if she had. Listen, I need to sort some shit out, get my head around Alex. We have more problems then this, but I need you to talk to your cousin for me. Ask her what the hell happened, cause I can't fucking remember for the life of me."

Kevin nodded, looking around. "Sure, man, I can do that, but I got to know, what happened with you and Alex that shook up the hornets nest so hard. Besides you and Sarah. Christ, you and Sarah." He shook his head in disbelief.

Kenshin looked around the restaurant, making sure no one overheard them, then leaned in. "Listen, you can't tell anyone about this, I swear, man, this is real shit. I got Alex pregnant. She was going to tell me this week, threw the party last night to take some of the shock off. I though she wanted to drink off the shock of a pregnancy scare, but..." He paused. "Hell, that business she had to take care of, it must have been a personal test." He hung his head. "God, I was an idiot. I thought she was going to get wasted, she was the one who wanted me to bring the good stuff, but by the time I should have wondered where she was, I was already buzzed. Hell, she must have been afraid to hurt the baby."

Kevin put a hand on his shoulder. "Dude, calm down. You know what you have to do, right? You've got to man up and take care of your kid, no matter what." He nodded to him. "Don't worry, man, We've had each others backs since Middle School. I'm not about to back out on you now."

He spent the rest of the meal in silence, and then got dropped off at home by Kevin, where he had picked up the phone and not dialed Alex for hours straight, stopping just short of the first button, then slamming the phone down again. His mind kept going to his father's reputation, and he knew that him having a kid out of wedlock with his classmate WOULD damage it if that got out, and for all his bluster, he didn't want to damage his dad's reputation, or hurt him, in any way.

Now, laying in his bed, it took him a long moment to realize his cell phone was ringing. The Psych theme he had set to ring for Alex's ring-tone made him scramble up and grab his phone. "Hello!" He listened. "Alex, hey. What's up?" He sat on the floor, leaning against his bed, and listened.

Alex sighed as she said, "Kenshin, I can't do it," she paused. "I can't have a baby alone, and I can't stand not having you by my side. I need you...can we talk?" she asked. She had started to cry, but she wiped the tears away. All she really wanted to know why he would even think about Sarah.

((No, don't be sorry, actually I like long posts. xD))

Kenshin blinked, stunned, then nodded, not even thinking she couldn't see it over the phone. "Yes, yeah! We can talk. Do you want to talk now, or, should we do it in person? I can go right now, if you want me to meet you somewhere." He was already getting up, reaching for his jacket.

((:XD I was more sorry about it taking so long for the long posty, since you had to go to bed by the time I was done, it seemed))

Alex smiled a little bit. "Somewhere private...I'd rather not talk about my situation, the word will spread once it's obvious, not when I found out a few days ago, but you can come here, or I can come there. Whatever works." she said.

((Oh, well I was going to wait for you to post, but it said you were offline after a while...sorry, I thought you left me.))

He nodded again. "Yeah, I'll be there in ten minutes, I promise, see you then!" He hung up the phone and tossed it absentmindedly onto his desk, then threw on his jacket and jumped into his car, almost peeling out of the driveway.

He was at her place in seven minutes, and hauled himself out of the car. He took just a moment to lock it, then ran to the door.

Alex ran downstairs and he didn't get a chance to get in the door, she was already hugging him. "I'm so sorry!" she said through her tears.

He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her as close to him as he could. "No, I'm sorry, this is all my fault." He realized he was crying to, but he didn't care. He just stood there, holding her as tightly as he could, not wanting to let her go ever again.

After a few minutes, though, he did finally pull away, smiling through his tears. "Well, you gonna invite me in, or should I start spilling my heart to you right here?" He laughed a little, still crying as he hugged her again.

"Well, I'm already freezing, so let's go inside." she said. She flew the door open and hopped on the couch. "Okay, so...what exactly happened?" she asked as she looked at the ground.

He nodded, and slipped inside, sitting on the couch next to her. He took a minute to regain his composure, then leaned forward, interlacing his fingers together. "Ok, so, let me start with this was my stupid fault. I thought you had wanted to get wasted with me to drown away the potential thoughts of being pregnant, not that you were worried because you were already pregnant, and I think I remember you asking me to go swimming with you, which I guess means you didn't actually drink at the party, despite planning on it." He waited, seeing if he had what happened with her right.

"Well, yes, that's what happened to me, but I want to know what happened between you and Sarah." she said as she could feel his fingers shaking on hers, knowing hers were too. "Did you actually...have sex with her?" she asked.

He hung his head. "Well, near as I can tell, we seemed to have. We never did before, she didn't want to be like her mother, who had not only had sex, but had given birth to Sarah at 18. Her mother and father are real deadbeats, and I had a soft spot for what she went through. This was all a year back, and I hadn't though about her since she moved back to Colorado to be passed between her parents in custody battle after custody battle. Well, apparently, she was back in town a few days ago, and Kevin brought her to the party." He looked up at her. "She's his cousin, and he didn't tell me he was bringing her, so I SWEAR I didn't know she was going to be here." He looked down again, squeezing his hands together. "Anyway, I guess she ambushed me on the way to your room to sleep off the booze, and she must have gotten me in somehow." He reached over and took her hands. "I swear, Alex, I never would have done this to you, I didn't want to. I just was so stupid drinking that much, I wasn't thinking last night." He looked into her eyes, concerned. It was clear from the circles in his eyes he'd both been crying, and sleepless, for a while now.
