He smiled, nodded. "I think I'd want a boy, too." He looked up and smiled at the waitress as she dropped off the check and picked up his food, then picked up the check and looked at it. He nodded, pulled out his Visa, and set it on the check, and waited til the waitress returned. "So, anything else you need to buy?"

"Just the test on the way home, yourself?" she asked. She grabbed her jacket and swung it around her. "Why'd you pay?" she asked.

He smiled as the waitress came back, set down a box, and took his card. "Nothing else, and because I wanted to." He looked in the box to make sure his food was in there. "I'm happy to." He looked up as the waitress returned with his card, then stood and waited for Alex before he headed out. "So, anywhere in particular you want me to take you to get one, or just to the next Corner Store we see?"

"I don't care where, I just need one." she said as she nodded. She pretended to see how much money she had left, but really she pulled out a twenty. She pretended to wrap her arm around his waist, but she slipped the twenty in his back pocket gently.

Kenshin headed out of the restaurant, unaware, and headed back to his car. He held the door for her, then headed around and started the car, pulling out of the Mall when they were ready. After a minute, he stopped at a corner store, and sat back, then looked over at her. "I'll, um, stay out here, if you don't mind. I'd need to call my mom and let her know I'll be at your place." He smiled at her, hoping she didn't mind.

Alex smiled and nodded. "Sure, be right back." she said. She winked and ran inside. She bought a pregnancy test and walked up to the counter. She looked down, unable to look the clerk in the eyes because she had been ashamed. She looked up at him only when she had to give him the money. The man smiled and raised an eyebrow at her age for buying one, and she ran back outside. She threw the bag on the floor and set her head back. "Go."

Kenshin nodded, pulling out his phone, and made a call. He was just hanging up when she came outside. "Ok, we're good." He nodded at her request, driving off quickly. "Back to your place, then?"

Alex looked over at him, panting somewhat from running to the car. "Yes-um!"

He smiled at her, then looked back to the road. "So, you're just gonna take it at home?" He looked down at her purse, then up at her, then back at the road quickly. "Might as well hurry, the sooner we get there, the sooner will know for sure." He sped up, driving quickly for her place.

They pulled in a little sooner then normal, and he killed the engine. "Ok, we're here."

Alex ran inside, darting for the bathroom, throwing her jacket and purse on the floor on her way. She quickly "did her buisness" and waited a little bit. She closed her eyes and opened them. She threw it in the garbage and threw toilet paper over it so her mother wouldn't find it. She walked back out as she looked at the ground. She looked up a littl bit and smiled. She ran over to him and hugged him tightly. "We're safe."

He waited in her room till her heard her come out, then went into the hall to see what she had to say.

He held her in his arms, letting out a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank goodness." He kissed her forehead, then rested his forehead against her's, looking into her eyes. "Ok, so, more careful from now on, right?" He smiled at her, genuine relief in his eyes.

"Yes, PLEASE!" she said. She hugged him once more and smiled.

He wrapped his arms around her, then slid his arm down to her legs and swept her off her feet, taking her to her room, and setting her on her bed.

Alex pulled the blanket over her and yawned. She turned to her right side, facing him, and stretched before looking up at him. "Tomorrow's our last day before school."

He nodded, kicking off his shoes and sliding into bed next to her, putting an arm around her. "We'll have to do something special for the occasion." He smiled at her, then closed his eyes, just happy to be laying next to her then alone.

"Yes, but for now," she kissed him lightly. "Good night." she whispered.

She woke up the next morning and stretched, yawning loudly. She looked around for Kenshin as she rubbed her eyes, realizing he was no longer next to her.

Kenshin nodded, going to sleep with Alex in his arms.

When he awoke the next morning, he yawned, slipped out of bed to let Alex sleep, and headed downstairs to make some Coffee and Breakfast.

Alex walked downstairs, trying to keep her balance. She scratched her head and smacked her lips as she walked to the kitchen table. Her eyes were still half-closed as she said, "Mornin' sunshine."

Kenshin smiled. "Morning, Sweetie. Sleep well?" He walked over to her, holding up a pot glass of Coffee in her direction. "Just finished some coffee, Bacon's in the pan." He pointed back at the Oven. "Not quite crisped, yet, so you might want to give it a minute more." He set the mug of Coffee down in front of her, then turned to the oven again.

"Eew...I feel gross today. Thanks." Alex said. She grabbed a mug and some coffee. She sat down and started drinking it. "How'd you sleep?"

He shrugged. "Fine, couldn't complain. Can't remember if I dreamed or not. How about you, any dreams?"

Alex set her head on the table. "I had a dream that Barney was riding a dinosaur in a volcano trying to rape me....stupid hormones." she moaned.

Kenshin looked over at her with a raised eyebrow. "Wow, that's a heck of a dream." He shut off the oven and walked over, setting the bacon onto a large plate, then set the plate in the middle of the table. "Well, maybe some bacon will take your mind off it. Toast?"

"Thanks, no toast, thanks for offering." she said. She put a piece of bacon in her mouth and chewed it up.

Kenshin shrugged, and sat down across from her. "So, what should we do for our last day of freedom?" He winked at her, then bit into some toast.
