Alex nodded and grabbed the vegetables, and brought them into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and shook her head. "No, I didn't really know where to go..." she admitted.
((HOW DID YOU GET SO MANY HEARTS?!)) |
((I have a timer go off every 15 minutes, and just play the firecracker game. It's 1-3 free hearts every fifteen minutes, so that's a minimum of 4 hearts an hour, and a Max of 12. This doesn't seem like to much, but considering the EI's are only around 20-50 hearts, that's not to long to put it. Plus, .25 hearts a post :D))
Carla nodded, walking into the kitchen and bringing in some rolls. "That's fine, dear. I can give you the number for the place I went in preparation to have Kenny here. They're very professional, and kind." She sat down at the table with Alex. Kenshin went to the fridge. "Ok, who wants what to drink?" "Water for me, dear." Carla told him over her shoulder, motioning to the food. "Dig in, Alex. It's nice to see you back, even with your... surprise." She smiled kindly at her, then started to cut into the ham. |
'Hesitation?' Alex thought. She looked at Kenshin and smiled a bit. "Water please, hun." she said. She grabbed a few pieces of ham, a roll, a spoonful of mashed potatoes, and some vegetables. She looked at Carla. "Sounds good to me." she said.
Kenshin set down a glass of water in front of each of them, then a glass of milk at his own place, then helped himself to several slices of the ham, as well as a roll and some vegetables, leaving the potatoes for later. "So, Alex, what are we going to name him? I think we still have to give him a name don't we, or does he get named by whoever adopts him?"
Carla looked up. "It's a boy, then? That's nice. I believe the new parents name him, once they get him, though it also might depend on when you actually put him up for adoption." She looked over at Alex. "Have you and your mother looked into potential families yet?" |
Alex had thought up a few names, but she was also unsure if she would be able to name him. "Well, my mother has talked to some people who she thinks would be perfect, but it's still up to Ken and I, and if it was my choice, I'd name them Kypton, Gavin, or Sterling." she said.
Kenshin smiled, and put his hand on hers. "I like Gavin. If we get to name him, I think we should go with that." He looked at his mother. "Can you look into that for us? Some of your legal friends must know."
Carla smiled, and nodded. "I'm sure someone at the firm has an idea. I'll ask around tomorrow." She bit into her roll, chewed, then swallowed with a smile. "So, Alex, tall me about Florida. Where did you live for your time there?" |
"I lived in Pensacola," she remembered. "It's about 15 miles from the Gulf, a beautiful place." Alex added. She finished up her food, nobody else was finished, so she put her dishes in the dishwasher.
She nodded with a smile. "Sounds like it. I have a brother who lives in a Plant City, if you know where that is. I've always meant to visit him down there, but never got the chance. I hear it's beautiful." She went back to eating as Kenshin set to clearing the rest of his plate.
"So," he asked, swallowing the last of his ham, "I'll come by your place tomorrow then, shall I? Are you all moved in, or do you need any help setting up still?" |
Alex sat on the couch in the living room and looked at Carla. "Oh, you bet it is, maybe sometime we'll all go visit?" she asked. She looked at Kenshin. "Could you just help me putting my bed together? My dad's too busy and my mom's too dainty." she said.
He smiled at her, and got up to take his plate to the sink. "Sure, Alex. I can handle that. You might want to get out of here, now that you're done eating. Better safe then sorry."
"Smart idea." Alex noted. She walked over and hugged him, kissed him, and hugged him once more. "See you tomorrow," she said.
He kissed her back, then walked her to the door. "I'll come over around ten or so, ok? G'night, Alex." He opened the door for her, then kissed her as she headed out.
Carla went to the kitchen with her dishes as well, and called "Goodnight, Alex!" As she left. |
Alex nodded them both off then drove home.
Later that evening, Alex called Kenshin. |
Kenshin had just finished the second round of dinner with his father, and was laying on his bed, looking at the roof when his cell phone rang. He picked it up, knowing by the ringtone it was Alex "Hello?"
Alex got up and looked out her window. "Hey, I just wanted to tell you that when you come over, you may want to come in the back door, if my dad sees you, we're screwed." she said.
Kenshin nodded, sitting up on his bed. "I understand. Let me guess, he's none to happy that I got you pregnant, then?" He looked out his window, at the moon in the distance. "Did your mom take it as well as mine?"
Alex laughed at his question. "I wish, she told me I was a slutty whore who needs to learn to control myself." she said. "It hurt..." she said quietly.
Kenshin frowned, and wished he could reach through the phone and hug her. "I'm sorry. It's my fault you got pregnant, after all. I'm sorry for everything that's happened related to that. School, your parents." He fell silent, waiting.
Alex shook her head. "No, Kenshin Anderson, I love you and nothing, no burden, no bitch who thinks he's cool, no parents who are too big for their britches could change that, I promise." she said. She would have nodded, but there was no point because he couldn't see it.
Kenshin nodded, out of habit, but responded just the same. "Thank you, Alex Francisco, and I love you too, and I'd punch out all the bitchy cool kids in the world, and sneak through the back door of any parents house for you, no matter what happened." He smiled, joking with her a little, but meaning every word.
"Well, that sounds like fun to me," she joked. "So, see you later?" she asked.
((I thought it was still in the evening))
((Oh, ok, I edited =3))
He nodded, laying on his bed again. "Ok, Sweetie. See you in the morning. Love you."
"Just pretend I kissed you through the phone. I love you, goodnight." Alex said before hanging up. She smacked her alarm clock the next morning and rolled over to her father standing over her. She screamed and sat up quickly.
"Daddy? Alex, why were you talking to that high school horn-dog? Because I love him and you can't stop me. Oh, really? Really!" ((I'll finish the convo after you post.)) |
