Kenshin smiled as he stood up. "Should I bring you a cake with a file in it, then?" He kissed her forehead, then pointed his thumb over his shoulder. "I'm going to head out of here, if you don't mind. My mother's probably worried sick, especially if she hears this on the news, and not from her son." He waited to see if she wanted him to stay, willing to for the next 10 minutes if she wanted him to.

Alex nodded and kissed his cheek. "Okay, tell your mother I'll be fine, and there's no need for gifts or visiting." she said nodding. She looked up at him and smiled. "Love you."

He kissed her cheek back, and straightened. "I will, but that doesn't mean she's not going to get you anything." He smiled and shook his head. "Trust me." He picked up his jacket, and backed towards the door. "Love you too. Sleep well."

Alex nodded and closed her eyes, attempting to fall asleep. Minutes later, Kenshin may have even passed her when he was leaving, Alex's mom popped in. "Hey mom."

Ferra hugged Alex with a smile. "Hello hun, I just wanted to let you know that I'm sending the divorce papers to your father, I don't want to bring them to him, I'm afraid of him. I was told by his doctor that he wanted me to know that he wants nothing to do with me or you, so the second he gets out of jail, he's moving, thank God." she nodded and smiled.

Kenshin spotted Alex's mom, and smiled at her as they passed, but didn't engage her in conversation. Now that he was outside, he looked up at the window to the room she was in, and headed home for the night.

Alex nodded and smiled. "Good, thanks for stopping Mom," she hugged her off, then grabbed her phone from the table.

Can you collect my homework for me? She set the phone back down and closed her eyes to go to bed.

((You're not supposed to have cell phones in the hospital, but oh well xD))

Kenshin stopped at a red light, and pulled out his phone. He typed in a quick 'Sure, no problem', then started to drove again. He couldn't help but feel angry at her father, and was quietly glad they had never told his father about this. Kenshin feared that, if he didn't have the image he had to maintain, he'd probably do the same thing as he dad had done. He shook his head, clearing it of that thought. His dad wasn't that mean.

Alex woke up the next morning and read the text, along with 27 other texts from people asking if it was true she had moved back. She just ignored the other ones and read Kenshin's, but she didn't reply. She didn't have the strength. She looked at the breakfast that was on the table then at the nurse, who smiled. Alex thanked her and started eating.

The nurse nodded to her, going about her work, then left.

Kenshin awoke, and looked at his phone. He frowned, then got up and got ready for school. At school, he fended off most of the questions about Alex, that she was back, and some asking if that stabbing yesterday had been her. The news hadn't given out Alex's name, but people who had known her, coupled with her rumored to be back in town, caused a silent uproar from people. At lunch, he sent her a text.

Alex: Thinking of you. People acting crazy >.<
Got homework, will be by after school. Mom says hi.

Alex napped on and off most of the day, there wasn't much else she could do. She smiled seeing his text.

Awww, sorry I'm not there with you, that would be a living hell for me, but if it's all right with you, I don't plan on coming back to school until the baby's born. It's so boooring :(

Kenshin smiled, but looked up as he spotted his friends heading over to the table. He typed out a quick reply.

Alex: Kk, I understand. gtg, guy's r coming. ttyl?
<3 Kenshin.

He tucked the phone away and waved to the guys as they headed over, eager to get out of school and back to Alex.

Alex sighed and replied.

Yeah:( I guess. Text me during math. Ms. Johnson won't care, just tell her it's me. :)

She set her phone on the table and nodded off once again.

After lunch, he sat down in math, and smiled at her message. Setting his phone to silent, he sent her a quick message.

Alex: Hey, in math. How are you feeling?

He sat slightly sideways, hiding his phone from people around him.

Ken: I'm fine sweetheart, tanks for asking. Yourself?

Alex was bored out of her wits, so she attempted standing up. She did it successfully, but sat right back down. She promised she would wait until Kenshin got there to walk somewhere, she may not have been stable.

Kenshin smiled, glancing around to make sure no one was watching him before typing his response.

Alex: Good, bored. Math ;-;. Hope you're at least staying entertained.
Did you finish those police forms?

Ken: Yes! There's NOTHING to do here! I miss you soo much!

He smiled, then typed out his response. He hid the phone a moment as the teacher came around, passing out quizzes.

Alex: Sorry. v.v. Hope you find something to do till I get there.
Think I'll skip last period. Nothing happening today. gtg for a bit, quiz.

With that, he tucked his phone into his pocket, and set to work on the quiz.

Alex woke from her short daze. She saw the clock which was at 1:45, meaning seventh period just ended. She stayed awake waiting for Kenshin to come.

Kenshin hopped up, got the last of her homework, and then headed to his car, driving off quickly before anyone noticed. When he got to the hospital, he headed to her room, and smiled at the security guys posted at her father's door. He let himself into her room, knocking as he opened the door. "Alex?"

Alex shot her head to the door and smiled. "I've been waiting all day!" she said, holding her arms out for a hug.

He came in, smiling, and set the papers by her bed before hugging her. "I missed you." He kissed her, then patted the papers. "Your homework, as asked for. Want me to get you something to eat before I settle in with my own homework?"

Alex sat for a few moments then nodded, smirking a bit. "Only if I can come with."

He blinked, surprised. "Are you sure it's ok for you to start walking already?" He moved closer, in case she tried to stand up, so he could support her.

"Well, call me crazy, but I feel pretty good about it." Alex said as she nodded. She slid her legs over the side of the bed and sat up. Carefully, she stood up and stood still, finding her balance.

Kenshin stood near her, ready to help her if she started to fall. "Well, you're looking pretty good there. Shall we go get you some food, then?"
