Her eyes sat wide at the movie. She was never scared of movies but this one made her jumpy. She eventually covered her eyes.
|
Kenshin glanced at her again. He took his hand off hers, and put an arm around her shoulders. "You alright?" He whispered to her.
|
She rubbed her eyes and sighed.
"I'm fine." She whispered back. 'Don't lose your cool.' |
He smiled at her, squeezing her shoulder in reassurance, and leaned lightly against her as he went back to watching the movie.
|
She rested her temple on his shoulder and the movie didn't scare her as much. She sat there next to him and felt...happy for the first time in a long time. She was really popular and rich, but her mom was a drunk, and her dad was dead.
|
He relaxed as he felt her lean against him. He hadn't been this at peace with his life since as long as he could remember. He closed his eyes, forgetting about the movie. He was just glad she was here with him.
When the movie ended, he looked at her. "So, where do you need me to take you now?" |
She sighed and stood up with a stretch, just like everyone else.
"441 Fagrae street." She said with a grin. |
He nodded. "You got it. How long are you going to be there, and when do you want me to get you again?" He smiled at her, heading along the aisle, then moving out of the way to let her go ahead of him.
|
She looked back at him as she walked.
"2 hours." She said, watching her steps carefully. |
He smiled. "Great. Plenty of time for me to head to my place and back. I need to head over there after I drop you off." He followed close behind her, almost next to her, so she didn't have to look too far back as she walked. "Want me to grab you something to eat on the way to pick you up, or are you eathing there?"
|
"I'll just make something to eat."
She said with a warm smile. |
He nodded as they headed outside. He went to his car and unlocked it, opening the door for her. "Sounds good. So, what'd you think of the movie?"
|
She laughed as he opened the door for her again.
"I liked it." she lied. |
"Well that's good. I thought it was ok. I prefer Zombieland to it, personally." He closed the door for her, then went around and got in. "Alright, lets go." He started the car, backed out, and headed off.
|
"Doesn't everyone?"
She asked with a laugh. She fastened her seat belt and started humming "Eye of the Tiger". |
He smiled and joined in on the humming till they got to the chores. "It's the, eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight, Risin' up, to the challenge of our rival..." He sung it through to her humming. He had a great ear for pitch, and loved to sing to the radio. He loved to sing to her humming even more, he found.
|
((the original was cream but they changed it to thrill.))
She busted up laughing and waited for the next song to come on. "You spin my head right round, right round when you go down when you go down down!" |
((I thought so  but I did a lyrics search and it said it was cream, so I thought I just remembered wrong))
He smiled, and sang with her all the way to the house she was babysitting at. "Here you go." He glanced at her as they pulled up. "I'll be back to get you in about 2 hours, then?" |
"Yup!"
She took off her seat belt and kissed his cheek quickly before getting out. |
He waited until she was safely inside before he headed back to his place. It was, unsurprisingly to him, empty, and so he set about getting it looking nicer for his guest. He pulled on a nicer shirt, and fished himself something from the freezer to eat. After his dinner, he drove to a Gas station, filled up, then headed over to where she was babysitting. He was about half way there when the sirens kicked on behind him. "Oh, man." He started pulling over to the side, glancing at the clock. He still had about 15 minutes. After getting a ticket for blowing right past that last stop sign, he headed quickly to the house, arriving ten minutes later then he planned.
|
She put the kids to sleep then sat on the front porch steps, waiting for him to arrive. She waited for 5 minutes then walked inside.
'I knew this was too good to be true.' She sat on the couch then after a few minutes she saw the lights in the driveway. She quickly hopped up and ran outside. She swung into the car and put on her seat belt. |
He smiled as he saw her run outside. He waited till she was in with her seatbelt on before he started driving. "Sorry I'm late. Got a little hung up. Shall we head back to my place?"
|
"That's the plan."
She said, adjusting her seat belt so it didn't bug her. She took out her homework and started working so they would have free time. |
He drove them back to his place. It was pretty high class, two stories, wider then it was tall, with a gate. As he drove up the gate swung open, and he parked in the driveway. "This is it." He got out and went around to get her door.
|
'Waaaaaaaaaay bigger than my house.'
It was so pretty, and yet she hadn't even been inside yet. She smiled and nodded at it. "I like it." |
