Way back when, before history was recorded there was once an epic battle between Heaven and Hell, on Earth. The Demons had an infernal gate that connected Hell to Earth, and they terrorized any and all who dared wonder into the plains before that gate. The Hell Hounds slaughtered innocents and the wicked alike, and took control of Earth.
The people of Earth cried out for help to the Heavens, and the Divine listened to their prayers. They had sent down the Angels to save them, but the Hell Hounds were strong, smart...and there were many.

This was a battle between good and evil, who will take control of the Earth?

Other: She is only older than her brother by a few minutes, yet carries the aura of wisdom and age.
Appearance: Her fur is snowy white, and her thoughtful eyes are a deep blue. A blue teardrop colors the fur of her chest, and the tips of her ears and tail are the same color. She is slim, sleek, and fluid in her motions, dwarfed by her younger brother.

Personality: Hotheaded, brash, rude, and arrogant, Pyrus is the living impersonation of his ruling element, Fire. He never thinks his actions through and often relies on his older sister to get them out of binds.
Likes: Fire, heat, the Sun, exercise, wrestleing, and colored rocks
Dislikes: Death, and betrayel
Powers: He is master of his element, Fire, he can also fly and can feel the emotions of others
Other: He is younger than his sister, and acts like a cheerful pup when he's not picking fights.
Appearance: A complete contrast to his sister, Pyrus is large, buff, and almost towers over his sister. His fur is jet black, and he has a red teardrop on his chest. His ears and tail are tipped with the same red, and his eyes are akin to molten gold, passionate and intense.

Sentinel lounged in front of the Hell Gate on the side of the cliff, enjoying the hot draft that came from it. She flicked her tail softly, a low, purr-like growl erupting from her throat. Her ears flicked as she heard the voices whisper to her from the gate. To any mortal, these voices would make you go mad. Often they were the voices that made killers what they are, but they didn't bother the Hell Hounds. To some, they were the voices that struck fear in the mortals, that made them go mad. Others believed that they were already too twisted to be affected by the voices. Whatever the reason, Sentinel actually found comfort in listening to them. She flicked her ears again and breathed contentedly, calmly awaiting her comrades.

When Sentinel awoke she lifted her head and exhaled slowly, then softly crept towards the tall grass. She crouched down, bored, tilting her ears back and whining. She then stood back up and crept through the soft rustling grass.

Yalana walked towards the Gate and wagged her tail. Today was a gorgeous day and it just kept getting better. She looked and saw Sentinel lying in front of the gate and her eyes lit up. She slowly crept up, waiting for her to lay her head down, but lightly whined when she stood. She quickly perked up and walked up behind her and pounced on her, being careful not to hurt her, and wagged her tail.

Sentinel! She said happily.

A growl erupted from Sentinel's throat, and then a playful bark as she rolled on her back. "Yalana!" She yipped, her tail wagging. She playfully nipped Yalana's shoulder, "How goes it?" She said as she attempted to pin her to the ground, failing to her strength. She whined in frustration, but wagged her tail anyways.

Yalana grinned and flopped on her side beside her. "Long." She said with a sigh. She smiled lightly at her friend and nudged her with her muzzle. "How about with you?" She asked and stretched.

"hanging in there," She said, as her ears flicked towards the gate, "I've been hearing this rumor though...The humans have been extremely chipper lately. Rumor has it that there are guardians showing up in some of their villages...Angels." She snorted, disgusted almost as if it were a swear word.

Yalana growled low in her throat. "Those goodie two shoes ruin everything!" She said on a huff. "It's always so much fun to make a grown man scream like a little girl while you're eating them... Why would you save food?" She asked and tilted her head, her ears flicking forward in confusion.

The Hell Gate pulsed slightly as two figures traveled to the Earth. The first one set foot delicatly out of the portal, the white paw followed by an equally white body. A much larger, male body followed closely, his complaints heard even before he was fully out of the portal. "....gross and I always feel slimey after we get out, why do we have to keep doing this Dina? Why can't we just fly to earth?" Ignoring her younger brother, Undine DeFaustus flicked her azure gaze to the two Hell Hounds that were lounging nearby. Padding silently to them, she gave a small smile in greeting. "Sentinel, Yolana, it's been many moons since I have seen either of you, how do things fare on this side of the Gate?" Her brother, Pyrus DeFaustus, was much louder inhis greeting. Jumping around the two older Hounds that he still managed to dwarf, he yipped his greetings. "Hi! Man, it's been FOREVER since we've seen you! How are you? Have you killed anyone lately? Have you seen an Angel yet? What do they look like? Do they really smell so sweet you want to hurl? have you fought-" His ramblings were silenced with a yelp when he found his tail in the grip of Undine. Ears drooping, he lay down on his stomach and put his head between his paws, muttering about how Dina always killed his fun.

Yalana looked at Pyrus and lightly shook her head before playfully whacking him with one of her tails. "Stop it Pyrus." She said with a laugh. "You know your sister is just trying to keep you from getting hurt." She smiled at Undine and flicked her ears at her. "It has been a while."

"Ah, it's the lovely siblings." She laughed. "I'm glad you've come. It's a nice evening, but things are starting to get chilly. I miss the hot fires in Hell so much." She shivered, "As for the Angels...no, we haven't seen them yet. I doubt that they'd travel so close to the Gate, they can't stand the whispers. They effect them just as bad as it does the humans. Does the Master send news?" She asked, referring to The Beast that catered to the Darkness, Master of Hell.

Pyrus grinned a goofy smile and nipped Yolana lightly on her shoulder. "Yeah, but she can be really bossy sometimes." Undine ignored his remarks, choosing to sit lightly next to Sentinel, curling her tail softly around her. "Though he tries to hide it, I can tell he is nervous about the appearance of the Angels, and is also furious at the Divine intervention. He is violent to all that say the wrong thing and sends his spies on suicide missions to watch the movements of the Angels...he urges all of his Hounds to remain vigilant and if we even smell an Angel, we are to attack without mercy." She sighed, things were looking darker and darker.

"I don't blame him, I'm rather furious myself!" She muttered, "The Divine has always interfered with our affairs, but left the humans to be the low-life, greedy thieving scoundrels they are. Those Angels would do anything to get a scratch on the ass, first one I see...I'll rip them to pieces." She took a breath and calmed herself, "I apologize, I got caught up in the moment. I think it's the hunger, would you like to hunt with me? Let's celebrate your return." She flashed them both a wolfee grin, and stood up.

Yalana smiled and yawned a bit. "I wish I could... but it's my watch night. You three go ahead, I'll hunt later." She said with a smile as she sat up and shook her head to wake herself up.

"Come, Yalana. Nothing wakes you up better than a screaming human beneath your claws." She grinned darkly, laughing darkly. Then her mood changed from dark to excited, she spun around once, nipping at her own tail.

Yalana thought about it. It had been a while since she had gotten to eat a human that was kicking and screaming as she ripped them apart. She licked her lips slightly and smirked a bit. "Well, I suppose no one has found the Gate before... and I am hungry." She said and stood up with a happy yelp. "Oh, why not!"

Cargan walked through the town, smiling at all of the humans that pet him and nodding at those who waved. He felt so treasured here. He looked around for one of his fellow angels to talk to, wondering where they had gotten to anyway.

Undine nodded and stood as well, Pyrus a second behind as he bounced to his feet excitedly, while Undine ate out of necessity, she killed quickly and silently, prefering to end it before something could fight her back. Pyrus was her opposite in that he loved the screams of pain and pleads of mercy before he ripped the victim's insides out slowly. Both waited to follow the other two.

Yalana smirked at Pyrus and shook her head. Well, this would be new. She wasn't used to hunting with a total of four. "Shall we?" She asked and wagged her tail.

Sentinel hopped behind Yalana, yipping, her tail wagging playfully. She then ran into the field, and raced ahead. The human village was a small one, and surprisingly, it was one that the Hell Hounds have yet to visit. Her hair stood up as she glared down at the village, she bared her teeth. "I smell Angels."

Nero nuzzled the small toddler that scratched and pulled at his ears playfully, laughing excitedly. His tail wagged, and his face had a wolfee grin. The people in the village loved him, for he was their guardian. The child wrapped his arms around the big wolf's neck, and he stood up, lifting the child with him, laughing.
But, something wasn't right...As the child released him, he looked up, and his ears twitched. That smell, that smell.
And he turned to look for Cargon.

Yalana growled low in her throat at the smell. Of course they would be here the day they decided to hunt. "If we hunt, we go after the ones that aren't paying attention here. Everyone must have a hunting partner." She said and looked at everyone. She wasn't the Alpha, but she had experience when hunting around Divine deities. "It's better if it's two against one with these... things." She said in disgust.

Cargan looked for Nero, having smelled the Hell Hounds the same time he did. He walked calmly so he didn't alarm the people. He walked up to Nero and flicked his ears. "They're here." He said in a whisper so only Nero caould hear him.

Sentinel held her breath, "You're right." She said, "We show no mercy..." She growled, and she looked at Yalana, then at Undine and Pyrus, "We are all representing Hell and the Master. Do whatever you can to slaughter those dogs. Are you all ready?"

Nero nodded, "The stench is strong. There are a few of them; we need to warn the villagers." He turned to look at the people, his eyes sad, "I don't want to fail!" and he ran off to spread the word to everyone.
