Alary grinned back at Aki and ate another grape. When he looked over Aki was nudging a note at him and pointing to a server. "The Prince says 'It's fine and thanks for your hard work.'" Once the servant had walked away Alary made a face at aki. "I'm really getting tired of refering to you as 'Prince'. I think I'll stop now. they're glaring at me any way."
Aki's grin stretched, 'Go ahead, I never told you to call me prince anyway' he scribbled and then popped another piece of food into his mouth, not bothering to see what it was.
Alary grinned again and ate some more as well. He listened to some of the conversation at the table and found it lacking. "They don't talk about much do they? No wonder you get bored here easily." He sighed and leaned back. "Did I ever tell you about the time my family saw Peter Pan?" Alary said offering a story that would be a less dry than the ones going around the table.
Aki shook his head no then turned his body about halfway to hear about it, waving away the noble that was attempting to get him to see/talk to their daughter.
Alary smiled as he told the story. "Well remember that three of my siblings are fairies so when they saw Tinkerbell they were more than upset. They went on and on about how she was more pixi than fairy. Since they're fairies they're prone to doing some not so nice things. Well they went to the library during story time and convinced five other kids that they were fairies and now that they'd sprinkled pixi dust on them they'd fly. Luckly my eldest brother found out and stopped any of the kids from jumping off anything too high."
He shook his head. "We never got to see another fantasy movie after that and Mom punished all five of us for two weeks." He looked at Aki. "I doubt you've ever done anything that bad right?" |
Aki smiled, 'Of course not...' he wrote. sliding the notebook towards Alary. he leaned against the arm he had propped up on the table. Most of the people were done eating now and were just chatting away.
Alary read it and grinned. He noticed that most everyone was done eating. "Well then are we done here or do we have to wait until everyone's done talking too?" Alary said poking Aki.
Aki swatted at Alary's hand and missed, making him laugh...or attempt to anyway. 'Ouch. We can leave now if you want.' He wrote, rubbing his throat. 'I can't wait for this day to be over.'
"Alright let's go then. I've never been one for the formal scene." Alary said getting up from the table. He looked to see if Aki needed any help before leaving the dinning hall with him.
Aki climbed to his feet a little more steadily then he had when he had sat down and then walked out of the hall with Alary. 'I guess I'll see you tomorrow?' He held up the notebook, pausing outside of his room.
Alary read the note and nodded. "I guess so. Though if you need anything just knock. I'll do the same if I need anything." Alary smiled and gave short wave before opening his door and going inside. Once in his room he took off his shirt and changed into a pair of sweat pants. He sat down at his desk and started working on Nikki's ipod until he fell asleep.
It was later in the night that Alary woke with a jolt and wondered why. The reason for it came soon enough with the flash and crash of thunder and lightening. He hated thunder storms. They made him uneasy. Covering his ears he tried to calm down but to no avail. Feeling slightly foolish but needing company he went and knocked on Aki's door. |
After the two parted Aki moved to his closet, throwing off his vest and dress shirt and slipping his jeans off. He grabbed a pair of shorts and then reached up to ruffle his hair for a bit. Then he slipped the shorts on while walking towards the bathroom to brush his teeth. When he was finished he fell on top of his covers and fell asleep.
He woke up a few hours later to thunder and lightning crashing through the sky. He'd hate to be out in that storm. Then he remembered a certain one of his friends didn't really like thunderstorms and a few seconds later a knock was heard, echoing around his rather empty room. Aki stood up, rubbing his eyes before walking to the door and pulling it open. |
Alary had his hands over his ears when Aki opened the door. He flinched as the sound of thunder echoed through the hall. He tried to smile at Aki but it came out more of a grimace. "Sorry, I didn't wake you did I? I'm just. . . a little uncomfortable at the moment. You don't mind if I hang with you til the storm ends do you?" Another crash of lightening and Alary flinched again.
Aki shook his head no and ushered his friend into his room. Then he made him sit on the bed, where he proceeded to wrap the uppermost cover around his frame. Aki then moved to the laptop sitting on his desk and turned it on, waiting impatiently for the thing to finish loading before opening his music player and hitting play, instantly filling the room with music (emitted from various speakers he had hidden in random spots in his room) and blocking out any noises from the storm. "Better?" He asked softly, his throat had gotten a little better but his voice was still very raspy and he couldn't speak much louder than the volume he was already speaking with.
Alary let Aki led him in and greatfully accepted the cover. He drew it over his head and used it to help muffle the sound he hated. He stayed tensed up like that until he heard the music fill the room. He then pulled the cover down and looked at Aki. "Yea that's better. Thanks for this. Though I see you're getting your voice back." Alary raised an eyebrow as a particular song came on. He'd almost forgotten how much their taste in music differed. He shrugged it off though. Anything was better than listening to the storm.
Aki smiled, "I’m sorry I can’t offer you something more to your taste but…” he trailed off and shrugged, taking a seat next to his friend and then flopping backwards, yawning into his hand as he did so. He stared at the ceiling for a moment before getting up again and drawing the curtains/shades that hung on either sides of the windows closed, "It would probably be better to not see it as well.” he explained. Then he decided it would probably be best to let his throat rest and held up a tea packet along with the notebook after he had scribbled some words down, ’Do you want something to drink?’
"Sure, anything is fine. Thanks for this." Alary said coming out from the sheets fully now that the storm was fully blocked out. He gave Aki a smile and moved over to his laptop to take a peek at the playlist. He didn't recognise a thing. "Did you get into this kind of music any way? I doubt they play it over the castle loud speakers." Alary scrolled through reading the song titles. He was really just trying to keep his mind off of the weather outside.
Aki shrugged, setting a small pot of water down to boil on a small heater...thingy ((forgot what it was called...oops XD)). he picked up the pen and notebook, chewing thoughtfully on his lower lip before putting the pen to the paper and scribbling, 'I'm not really sure. I guess it just appeals to me. The fact that there's a melody in there along with a hint of rock. It's not completely pop and it's not completely rock. I can kinda relate. I'm not completely one or the other. I'm just...me. Like the music is just...the way it is. And besides the meanings are pretty cool too.' He paused and set the notebook on the table, sliding it over to Alary as he turned to the now boiled water. He picked it up and poured it into the waiting mugs and then set the empty pot back down. He carefully picked up one of the mugs and placed it next to Alary, a little ways away from the laptop and then held his own mug in his hands, enjoying the warmth that radiated to his fingertips from the mug's surface.
Alary read the note and nodded. "[COLOR="lightblue"]Alright that makes sense. That does sound a lot like you too.[COLOR/]" Alary smiled and took the mug holding it and feeling it's warmth. He got up and left the laptop taking a few sips of his drink. He moved next to Aki handing back the notebook. He took a few more sips in silence before turning to his friend. "You know as long as you've known me you've never once teased me about this."
Aki smiled softly, "It's not something to be made fun of." was his whispered reply. He had never felt the need to tease his friends about their fears, that was something that just seemed wrong to him. "And anyway, you're my friend, if you weren't..." A sadistic glint flashed through Aki's eyes, "...things would have been different."
Alary saw the glint and shook his head before smiling. "Well then it's a good thing for me that we are friend, close friends at that. I'd even say you're the best friend I've got." Alary drank more from his mug and savored the taste. "[COLOR="lightblue"]What kind of tea is this? It's pretty good.[COLOR?]" He drank more of it letting the liquid warm him.
"Flower." was the short reply. then Aki mulled over his answer, "orange blossom and lavender...with a hint of mint...if I remember correctly." he elaborated. ((lol I had to run to the cupboard to check the random flowers I had for tea in there  I haven't even tried this combination so i have no idea if it's good or not)) He shrugged, he never really thought about what he put in his tea, he just put random things in it and it normally came out really good. It came in handy on days when he was alone or just needed something warm so he had plenty of tea supplies scattered about his room.
(( That's okay. Whether it's good or not it sounds like it is.))
Alary nodded and drained his mug. "I see. Now that you've mentioned it I can taste it a little." Alary put the mug down and leaned back on the bed. He looked up at Aki. "So what are you afraid of? Is there anything you just can't stand the thought of?" Alary stretched a bit and yawned. |
"Plenty of things." Aki replied with a toothy grin, "But I don't think I'll tell you." He sat down in the chair in front of his laptop and scrolled through his playlist, looking for a song that had been stuck in his head for a while now, after he clicked on it he turned back around to face Alary, "Not that I don't trust you. They're just almost as silly as the panda thing."
Alary laughed at that. "Really? Now I have to know what they are. Nothing could possibly be as silly as the panda incident." Alary then turned and quirked a brow at Aki. "But then again this is you we're talking about. Alright what do I have to do to get you to tell me? I'll do almost anything to find out." He gave Aki a wily grin.
