He shrugged, but his voice had lost its earlier joy. "That's fine. There are some things that just can't be helped." He opened her door for her, forcing a smile onto his face.

Smiling slightly Maria got in and buckled up. She was so ashamed of herself. She had let herself get so cozy with this human, but nothing could happen between them. She knew this, but she still wanted to be near him. She sat in silence as they drove up to her house, before he could even turn off the car she jumped out. "I'm not...Good. It would be if you stayed away from me." I said totally quoting one of my least favorite books.

Sean blinked, a little confused, but said nothing for a moment. He glanced down, then back up at her. "Listen, if you have something you need to tell me, some problem with me, or some problem that you're having, I can be someone to talk too. I can at least keep secrets for my friends." He watched her, wondering.

Maria bit her lip and looked at Marcus. "It's...a big secret. I'll have to see if I can trust you." She said then turned and ran inside.

He held out his hand, opening his mouth to say something, but she was already gone. He smiled, though. He would stick with her a while, and maybe, just maybe, she was a vampire. That wasn't SO bad, was it? It's not like she had attacked him or anything. Maybe her father was a vampire too, and they had escaped Romania. He shook his head.

He didn't even know if she WAS a vampire. If she was, she'd tell him in time. He could keep her secret, and would, if she gave it to him.

As he was heading home, he realized he'd forgotten to take his jacket back from her. He sighed, figuring he'd just get it at school tommorow.

Maria sat outside Marcus's window watching him sleep. She wanted to go inside and talk to him. She raised a hand as if to knock on the window but stopped. Wouldn't it seem sort of odd that she would be at his window in the middle of the night? She left a bat shaped Lollipop on his window ledge and jumped down and headed home.

When Marcus awoke the next morning, he went to the window and popped it open. He always got up before sunrise, since his house had a beautiful view of the pier from his balcony. He stretched as he breathed in the sea air coming off the water. As he finished stretching, he spotted something sitting on the windowsill.

He picked up the bat shaped Lollipop, looking at it confused for a moment, then he realised what it was. He threw open the doors to his balcony, running to the edge and looking around. After a while, he realized that it could have been left there at any point last night.

He walked back into the room, and set it on the desk. Then he got dressed and headed for school.

Maria stood in front of her car debating if she should go into the school. Her hands were shoved into a sweater and she wore A frilly black skirt with stockings and boots. Sighing as the bell rang she headed to class.

As Marcus sat down, he heard the classroom door open. He looked up and spotted Maria come in. He watched her sit down, waiting to see where she sat.

Maria looked up at Marcus and sat in the back of the room as the teacher began to Explain about the project they would be doing. Sighing she knew she would be finished with the project by morning.

Marcus listened uninterested. He wouldn't have much trouble with this project, but it would get in the way of seeing Maria again. He had to earn her trust, but he knew he couldn't just rush something like that. He pulled out a notebook, and began to scribble in it until the end of class.

As the bell rang, Maria grabbed her notebook and headed to her locker. She knew people were looking at her but she didn't care. She opened her locker and grabbed her Government book then shut the door.

Marcus went through the next three classes uninterested. At lunch, he headed to his locker, dropped off his stuff, and headed to the Cafeteria. He looked around for Maria, wanting to at least sit with her again.

Maria sat by herself in the corner of the Cafeteria looking at a apple and sipping a can of Diet Coke. She looked up and saw Marcus looking for her. She sighed and looked ahead, trying to be invisable. She really didn't want to let herself get closer to him, she would just hurt him.

He looked around for a while before giving up. He went to a table near the back door, putting his chin on his open palm, resting his elbow on the table, and began to pick at his food. He didn't feel hungry anymore.

Sighing Maria looked over at him. She felt horrid. She jumped up as the bell rang and went to her last class, Gym. The one class she didn't have with him. Sighing she changed into her bathing suit and swam laps.

Marcus headed of to his last class, history, and spent the period writing.

At the end of the class, he got up and headed straight for her locker instead of his own. He waited there, leaning against it till she came.

"I thought I told you I wasn't good for you?" Maria said suddenly standing right next to him. She didn't know why she wanted him so close to him, and yet she wanted to push him away before he got hurt.

He stepped back, startled by her sudden appearance. "You left with my jacket yesterday. I wanted to get it from you." He watched her for a long minute, then smiled. "And I think I can decide for myself what is bad for me."

"It's in my car." Maria said turning around and heading to the parking lot. She smiled to herself at his smartaleck remark. So he wanted to play with Vampires? This could be fun. "Get in." She said jumping into her red Thunderbird.

He looked at the car, unsure for a moment, then hoped in and put on his seat belt. He grabbed his jacket and wrapped it around his waist, glancing at her as he did so.

"I know that you think I am some supernatural babe. But I'm a monster." She said pulling out of the parking lot. She drove out of town and onto the bypass. She turned to look at him, not slowing down she speed through the trees.

He watched, confused. Had she just admitted to him she was a vampire. He put his hand against the dashboard as he saw where they were. "Hey, whoa, slow down!" He looked at her, uncertian.

"I can see where I'm going." She said. She drove him out of town and into the forest. The Thunderbird jumped through the trees and stuff on the ground then she came ot a stop. She got out and headed into the trees and stopped in a clearing where a few grave stones were. She stopped infront of a small one.

He got out, following her warily. He wasn't quite sure what she wanted with him until he saw the graves. As he walked up beside her, he looked down at the small grave. "Who's is it?"
