"Mine." She said placing a hand on the tombstone, "There is no body there, but my past life is buried here." She added with a faint smile.

He nodded. Somehow, he had known it would be hers. He looked at her. "So, you are a vampire, aren't you? That's why you're so cold? So you're.... really dead then?" He couldn't believe what was happening. The one girl he'd felt close to was not only dead, she had been before he had met her.

"Technically I am. But I can still do all the normal things a living person does. Beside blush, bleed, cry. ect." She said standing up and looking at him. "Sorry I lied. I wasn't sure I could trust you with my secret." She said looking down.

He stepped forward, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I understand, but you can. I won't tell a soul, I promise." He dropped his arm to his side, looking down at the tombstone. "So, what now?"

"I'm nt sure. I've never told someone about myself before." Maria sighed running a hand through her hair.

He glanced at the grave again. This was a little much, even for him. He sat down, looking at his feet. A question came to mind. "How did it happen. You becoming a vampire, that is." He hoped it wasn't to personal a question, but he would have asked anything to break that silence.

Maria laughed and sat down. "Well, my father was a controlling man, I'd never be able to leave. Well I'd slip out at night and go to Masquerades. I met a man who promised to take me away from hiim. Well I was 13 then, so I foolishly believed him. Keep in mind it was normal back then for a 20-something year old to marry a 13 year old. He convinced my father, and we married in the spring." She explained quickly.

Marcus blinked. "Back then... how old are you? And what happened next?" He suddenly realized that as a vampire, she could be quite old indeed, and that made him the most nervous out of everything he'd heard so far today.

"Hmm...Last I checked I was 120. Next we left left this town and went to London. On our wedding night he told me what he was. Then he...Took advantage of me and changed me. He drained me of every ounch of blood I had then I drank his blood, He forced me. When I woke up days later, he was gone. I've traveled the world since." Maria said as a lady bug crawled on her hand.

He looked down, stunned. "That's terrible. I'm sorry." He looked up at her again. "120 years, huh? That must be a lot to live through." He wasn't quite sure what he should do, but he was surprised her age didn't bother her as much as he though it would.

"Oh yeah, but I've met a lot of cool and Famous people. Did you know Edgar Allen Poe had a guy lover?" She said trying to brighten up the mood. She was telling the truth but he'd most likely think she was messing with him.

He raised an eyebrow. "You're, kidding, right?" He smiled at her, then suddenly frowned. "Wait, so, if you're really a vampire, do you actually drink people's blood?" He scratched his neck unconsciously, feeling suddenly nervous again.

"Oh yeah. In fact I havn't aten for quite some time." She said looking at him Hungrilly, but burst out laughing at his face. "No. I rather dislike the taste of Human blood, I like animal blood. And no I don't sparkle in the sunlight." She said seriously.

He smiled at the reference. He hated those books. "Well, I had noticed as much, and I'm glad you're not into snacking on people. Something tells me it would kind of hurt a bit." He put his hand to his neck, pulling his hand away with a Mosquito crushed to his palm. He wiped it off and smiled. "So, um, you were talking all dark and broody a little while ago. Are you really going to try and hurt me at some point?"

"People saw that we will, but I don't think so. In fact, we are trying to come 'out of the coffin' So to speak. We have repersinatives on our side talking to officals of your kind trying to get them to allow us the same rights as you." She explained picking up a lady bug and playing with it.

Marcus leaned back against the grave, carefully. "So, when I bring you flowers, should I bring them here?" He smiled, joking with her.

"Haha, no but on my death day you can bring me some daffodils and leave them here." She said with a smile.

He smiled back at her, then frowned a little. "So, um, listen... do you still want to go out with me? Because Vampire or not, I do really like you." He watched her carefully, holding his breath.

"You know I could kill you with just a flick on my wrist right?" Maria asked looking at him as a fluff of hair landed on her face, moving half of it into shadow making her look more tired then dead.

He shrugged. "Well, sure, I mean, I don't doubt that. But I feel like that's a risk I could take, if it meant staying with you. Besides, I don't think you would, at least not without a good reason. Would you really kill me just because?" He shifted, uncomftable with the thought she actually might kill him.

"No. I would never hurt someone unless they deserve it." Maria sighed laying back on the ground.

He smiled at her. "Then I have nothing to worry about." He scooted over and sat next to where she was laying. "I'd never do anything to hurt you. So, will you let me stick with you, or not?" He put a hand on hers.

"You've been stuck with me since you first saw me." She sighed sitting back up and looking at him. She sighed and smiled. It seemed like everything was falling into place perfectly.

He smiled at her, then reached up and ran a hand through her hair gently. "Good. I'd hate to lose you just because you were worried about me. I'll stick with you, and I'll never tell a soul your secret, though I've got to know, do you...." he rubbed his neck again, "intend to turn me into one to?" He glanced at the grave next to them, then back at her.

"No. I refuse to end your life for my own gain." She said suddenly sounding angry. "Don't ask that again."
