Abby walked toward the exit and didn't stop when she was at it. she was tired of praticing her magic, she knew her powers now and knew how to use them. she wanted nothing more then to get something to eat and then go get some sleep. She was also really upset that she had gone out on a limb to ask Jeff how he felt about her and he basically blew her off. she wasn't expecting him to love her or anything outrageous like that. after all they barely knew each other, she was just hoping that there was a spark of interest there that would make it so she knew whether or not to continue flirting with him or not. she knew how julia felt, but she could also see that he didn't like julia that way. there was always todd, he was a good looking man as well, not as good looking as Jeff, but looks weren't everything. Todd was starting to seem like a nice guy, although deep down she still didn't know if she trusted him or not. Walking out of the arena she was surprized to see Todd sitting on a rock waiting for them. she gasped and stopped suddenly. she wondered why he hadn't come in, and how long he had been there.
Todd heard a noise and looked up to see Abby stop not far away from him, he still couldn't see the arena however he knew that it was right behind her. he stood up and walked over to her, "Abby, thank Goodness, I was starting to think I had come to the wrong spot" he said sounding relieved. "so are the others coming as well?" |
Alex and Chris saw Abby leave and they both decided they would go too. "Hey guys, lets go," Alex called to the others. "There's nothing left for us here," she said. Chris left Alex to go on ahead and he waited for Amelia to catch up with them. Outside Alex found Abby and Todd talking. She skipped on over to them and greeted them.
"Hey, how long were you here?" she asked Todd. "Why didn't you come in? You should have seen Abby use her powers." |
Amelia and Marcus went outside, and Amelia immediately skipped over to Chris's side, while Marcus kind of stood by everyone and listened. Amelia touched Chris's arm and beamed up at him. "So what do you think of everyone developing magic all of a sudden?" She asked. "It has to be kind of weird for you. What do you think you'll get?" Amelia wanted to get some alone time with him, but she wasn't sure how he felt. He'd never acted anything more than friendly to her, and it was a slight bummer, but Amelia could deal. If all he wanted was to be friends, she could handle being friends. "I bet you'd get something wicked cool." Amelia said happily.
|
Chris laughed. "Actually, I'm okay with out any of these super powers," he admitted. "It makes me feel a bit odd that we're all supposed to get some sort of power like this. After Abby and Julia showed their powers I figured we'd all end up having some sort of power like that. I'm actually impressed with you and Marcus, though I might be a bit weary about what i'm thinking about around him. I'm sure a power like that could come in handy in the future. And yours... Bot of your powers seem to go together, just like you guys go together as family." He suddenly stopped talking. Ah, he was rambling on and probably sounded like an idiot, but he liked her. She seemed really fun to talk to, unlike Alex, who for some reason didn't really like him. Maybe she didn't like anybody at all? Who knew?
|
"Marcus and I are really close." Amelia said. "But that doesn't mean we always get along." She didn't know why she was saying this to him. "There was a point in time when we didn't speak at all for two years. Our parents got a nasty divorce, and he took off with our mom, and I stayed behind with my dad. Our parents were always fighting, and Marcus got caught up in it. He started spreading lied to me about our dad, and I didn't like what I was hearing. I told him he needed to grow up and leave mom. She was always a bad influence on people." Amelia looked away then. It was a painful part of her past, and it wasn't one she wanted to dwell on. But she felt she had to finish the story now. "He showed up on our doorstep on morning asking for a place to stay. My dad didn't want to take him in, he was scared of being hurt by his son again. Marcus finally realized how manipulative our mom was and left." Amelia looked back up at Chris and smiled. "I don't know why I told you all of that. I guess I feel really comfortable around you. I like you." She blushed. That last part wasn't supposed to come out. She couldn't help herself though.
|
Jeff sighed as he watched Abby leave. The other's followed her and he just decided to stay behind. That really didn't go how he wanted it too. He didn't even get to explain what he was talking about. He did like her, but it was too unrealistic to admit to anything deeper than that. Sure he started to develop a 'crush', but he wasn't about to tell her that, besides feelings like that always tend to develop in stressful situations; such as the one they just encountered in zombie land. What if those feelings went away now that things have calmed down? That wouldn't be fair to her.
Julia jogged up to Jeff and slugged him in the shoulder. "What was that all about Geoffry? Hm?" Jeff rolled his eyes and told her it was nothing for her to worry about. Of course she was going to worry about it anyways, she was a woman after all. Once outside Julia and Jeff found the others along with Todd. "Oh, so the mysterious Todd did come back. He didn't just leave us here to rot inside some strange place in the middle of some strange forest to die." |
Chris was quiet the whole time she spoke, and eve for a good while after that. Honostly, he had no friggen idea what to say to her. He only blushed slightly when she admited to liking him. It was to weird to say anything weird about it, so he commented on her story. "I'm sorry to hear that," he said to her. He offered her an awkward smile. "I'm glad you two are doing well now. Or that is what it looks like. My parents divorced a while ago, but it was no big deal..." Chris shrugged and shoved his hands into his pockets, then got quiet again.
|
Amelia shrugged, deciding she was glad he wasn't commenting on her verbal blunder. "Yeah, well, things happen." She gave a half shrug. "It's sometimes hard to get along with him. He still talks about her and how wonderful she used to be. It's really hard, knowing even to this day, she still has some sort of hold over him. I love him though, he's my brother." Amelia folded her arms and glanced over at Marcus. He was still kind of staring off into space, looking lost. She turned her gaze back to Chris. "I'm sorry about your parents divorce. You seem happy enough though, so that's good." She wasn't sure what to say now. Things were getting quiet, and Amelia didn't like that. It didn't seem like a good start to a potential relationship.
((Oh man yes, I have a brilliant idea. xD Haishin I'm pming youuuu)) |
Chris shrugged. "It's no big deal. I don't really care for my dad that much anyways. Besides, my family was never very family like.. They were just there. They fed me and gave me a place to live." He sat himself down on a dry patch of grass and offered Amelia a spot next to him. "I wonder when we get to go back," Chris said, not specifically stating where he was talking about.
((sorry all my posts are short. >.<)) |
Shrugging, Amelia picked at the grass. "I'm not sure. It'd be weird to go back home, but nice at the same time." She sighed. Amelia was scared to lose her new friends if they got to go home then. She wasn't sure what was going on anymore, or what they were doing next.
Marcus couldn't stop thinking about what Amelia had told him. There was no reflection or mirror surface anywhere, so he couldn't exactly see what he'd look like with messy hair. Regardless, he messed it up anyway, and ruffled up his shirt. Looking down, he saw there was no hope for his pants. Marcus also rolled up his sleeves to elbow length. He wanted so badly to impress Julia, but he was scared she wouldn't accept him. He had gone so long dressing the way he did because it pleased his mother. He missed her in some ways. He knew now she was a liar, but at the same time, he missed the relationship he had with her. But he supposed it was now time to cut loose and live in the present, instead of the past. Marcus straightened his back and practiced smiling. He started to feel better, less moody. |
"It's weird being here, don't you think? With this...magic and what not." He sat back on his elbows and looked up at the sky. A normal looking sky just like it looked at home. It almost made him think that home was somewhere around here, but it wasn't. This wasn't even on the same plane of existence. He had always believed in other universes, but he never really thought he was experience one or many of them.
(haha i don't remember what color i was using before.. as you see it keeps changing >.>) |
Amelia had nothing else to say. She really liked him, and it wasn't just because he was the only cute guy she'd seen so far, other than Jeff, but it was because there was something about Chris that was innocent, and he always seemed so kind. "I'm kind of afraid to go home." She said quietly. "I'm afraid to lose the friendships we've built up." Turning to Chris, she couldn't even muster up a smile. "I've had friends come and go over the years, but no one I've cried over. I mean, I know we've only known each other a short time, Chris, but I feel like I'd be depressed if we lost contact with each other." Amelia wasn't sure why she could suddenly be so open with him. Damn it. Amelia finally forced her mouth closed. This was going to scare him off for sure. She was really an idiot.
|
Chris smiled. "You know I could always give you my number," he said with a little laugh. "It would be fun. Talking on the phone. I used to talk to my best friend all night until he moved away. I bet it would be even more fun with you though." He quickly turned away as he started to blush. He haded the fact that he blushed so easily and now it was worse cause he did it to himself!

abby was ready to go back to the cabin and get some sleep, and a nice hot bath sounded wonderful. she didn't care if any of the others went with, and right now she could care less about what Jeff did or didn't do. she didn't even want to talk to him right now. she walked up to todd and told him that she was ready to go, he nodded and told her he was going to wait a few minutes and tell the others but they would catch up with her. so she started walking back to the cabin. when she got into the feild she walked off in a direction where noone in her group would be able to find her and she laid down in the grass and looked up at the stars twinkling in the sky, she decided that she would just stay here a while.
Todd walked over to each person in turn and told them that abby had already left to go back to the cabin and that they needed to leave so she wasn't alone too long. they all decided to go. getting back to the cabin they looked around and saw no sign of abby, "where do you think she is" todd asked. he was starting to get worried about her so he suggested that they all go out and look for her. |
Chris was glad that they were finally moving. He was tired of sitting around, but not tired of talking to Amelia. He could do that all night really. She was so nice. She didn't judge him by his looks or how he acted. Didn't look down on him because of what he did or didn't know or what he did or didn't have. It was actually nice. The last time he had any sort of relationship the girl made it all about her and left him because he just wasn't good enough. It kind of reminded him of Alex. He liked her ever since they met. She was smart and pretty, but she was so cold to him. Not the sort of thing he liked. Amelia was a warm person.
When Todd asked about Abby Chris frowned and looked around. "I never talk to her, so I dont have any idea." Alex thought it was odd that Abby was missing, then she put two and two together. Jeff and her seemed to be having some heated discussion earlier. "I bet she went out to think," she said. "I saw her and Jeff talking earlier." |
Todd nodded, having the information that Jeff and Abby were fighting was a good thing, without jeff in the way it would be easier to get abby to help him and to join with Lord Deumos. just to keep up pretenses though he glared over at Jeff. "we still need to go find her, something could've happened to her"
|
This was no good. Abby had walked away, surely pissed at him, before he even got a chance to explain everything and now she had ran off some place because of him. He had an urge to do something violent and something he would regret to Todd, but he simple turned around and left. "I'll find her," he grunted and walked out the door. He made sure to slam it behind him. Julia moved to go after him and after a second thought she figured it was best to leave him be.
There was only one place he knew of around here, besides the arena. The field where they had all arrived. Some how he remembered the direction. It wasn't to hard to see with the moon and the stars lighting his way. He was surprised how fast night had approached. After ten or so minutes Jeff stumbled upon Abby. "Yo," he said in a low voice. |
Abby looked up at jeff as he stumbled on her. she had tears streaming down her face because she was thinking about what had happened earlier. she quickly wiped her tears and tried to hide the fact that she had been crying before she got up off of the ground. "what are you doing here?" she asked softly
|
"I'm here because I was looking for you." He could tell by the redness in her cheeks and eyes that she had been crying. He sighed. Women were so emotional. "Look. You left before I could really explain anything." He sat down beside her and started explaining himself. The last thing he wanted was for her to grow to hate him. "I know we've only known each other for a couple weeks or so and I can't admit to any feelings I have. I like giving these things time. I do like you. You're adorable. I cannot deny that. I don't want to move too fast where you migt expect a relationship with me. Maybe in the future. As for me freaking out about the witch thing...long story short...With out details. A women close to my family accused my father of being a demon and she claimed to be a witch. She made so much he'll about it. She's in a crazy home now..." Jeff felt he had explained himselff enough so the last thing he said was an appology.
|
Abby looked at Jeff, she didn't know what to say about the information he just shared with her. she told him about why she knew about magic. her report that she did where she had to do extensive research because everything she wrote about in her reports were double checked due to the fact that she was homeschooled. and her favorite tv show called charmed. she told him that is where she had heard that spell to summon the ghost and she was as astonded and freaked out when it worked as everyone else. they sat quite for a while. "Jeff?" she said. when he acknowledged her question to his name she continued "you know I never expected you to be all for dating me right now or building a relationship or anything. I was just wondering if you liked me at all so i know whether or not to keep flirting with you or not, I mean I like you and..." she stopped talking she didn't know why she had said that. she knew that she should really concentrate on what was going on right now and about helping todd save his world. "um..." she tried to think of something that would be a good change of subject. "so what do you think we will have to deal with in the next world we go to?" she continued hoping that he wouldn't catch on to what she had said before.
|
"So, Todd. Do you plan on feeding us? Or are we going to have to result to cannibalism? Honestly, I wouldn't mind taking a bite out of......." she paused and smiled, not finishing her sentence." She was really getting hungry and if she had to she'd go nibble on the grass, except not really.
|
Todd looked over at alex. "oh yeah" he said... " I completely forgot that I had picked up some food." he said as he went to get the bag that held the food in it. when he brought it back in he apologized that it was cold and then he turned to oven on so that he could heat it back up. it was a baked chicken and some macoroni and cheese with some corn on the cob. when the oven was ready he put the food in it to heat it back up.
Abby felt uncomfortable with the silence that had engulfed them so she started walking to go back to the cottage. Jeff followed. she was hoping that the whole trip wouldn't be this uncomfortable. |
Amelia was already inside the cabin. She was more hungry than she thought she had been. As her stomach let out a loud growl, she coughed, hoping to hide the sound. Unfortunately, Marcus heard, and elbowed her in the ribs.
"When's the last time you ate?" He asked. Amelia looked him up and down. "I don't remember. It feels like forever ago. Since when did you start cutting loose?" "Since you told me to. I think I like myself this way a bit more. I wouldn't mind having some new clothes to wear." Amelia looked down at him before turning to Todd. "Do you have any clothes? Ones that might make him look younger, and cuter?" She whispered. This was something she wanted to keep quiet about until Marcus was ready to show off to the world. "Do you also have any scissors? I need to give him a haircut." She smiled. |
Curiosly Chris approached Todd. "So, where did you get that stuff..." he looked around the guy to the oven. He was curious if this world was anything like their world. Or maybe he returned to their world and got it there? He really was unsure, this guy was rather mysterious.
|
((I have no idea what to post, so this will be short.))
Jeff and Abby walked together in silence for quite a while. Jeff felt bad for making the girl cry and he had already said what he could. "I hope all this is over with soon," he said while straightening his clothing. He kicked a small rock and watched it skip over other rocks and sticks. "I don't like being strung along on some adventure out of some book." |
