Jeff jumped up so fast that he knocked the chair over and sent it flying. The table jumped as he caught it with his hip. Dumping glasses, and spilling there contents all over the table. "How could you let her be alone with a somebody you guys don't even know?!" Jeff growled. He ran out the same back doors the girls did early and through the woods. Off in the distance he could barely see to figures walking away. "JULIA!"
Deumos heard Jeff's scream, Julia didn't hear until Jeff started yelling for her again. "It's time we leave," Deumos said. Julia stepped away from him, Deumos grabbed her arm and ran. Julia protested insisting they wait for Jeff. Deumos said they had no time. Jeff ran surprisingly fast. It took him only a few minutes to catch up with them. Deumos turned quickly and lashed out at Jeff with a knife. Jeff some how managed to dodge Deumos' attack. Julia started screaming at the man. "He's a good guy, you idiot, stop attacking him!" She yelled at Deumos. Of course the man didn't stop. Jeff turned tail and ran. He'd been in one fist fight his whole life and that was all. He knew a little martial arts. But he had taken classes when he was a kid.. As he ran he told Julia to do so as well. "He lied to you Jules, get away from him." A hard blow knocked him to the ground. He groaned and rolled over just to see Deumos over him. Before the guy could attack Julia tackled Deumos. Jeff got up, grabbed Julia, and ran back to the house. "Fuck, fuck, fuck. Don't you dare stop till we get back." Deumos was furious. That stupid wench caused him to twist his ankle. He nursed it for a second at watched as the two ran off. Even will no powers they were a pain. He wondered how the boy knew who he really was. If it weren't for him, he'd have Julia and another member to add to his army. Jeff shoved Julia inside. Everybody stood asking if they were okay. Jeff didn't answer. He had Julia's arm in a tight grip and didn't respond when she told him he was hurting her. In the bedroom that was given to the boys, Jeff finally let go. He pushed her onto one of the beds and stood with his hands on his hips, like an angry father would do. "How could you! Are you really so stupid to go out there, by yourself, in a place you don't even know, with a man you don't even know? What the hell Jules I thought you were better than that!" Jeff screeched. Jesus he was pissed. He turned around with his hands to his face. Julia muttered a sorry. Jeff's hands slid down from his face as he turned around;. "Jesus Christ Julia. I could have lost you. Fuck, he could have killed us both." Jeff took a long breath then let it out slowly. "Do you have any idea how worried I was about you? Abby came in here telling us you were with this Deumos guy." Both his hands went to his hair and he lightly tugged on it out of stress. "Shit," he muttered. His heart was still pounding hard in his chest from the adrenaline rush he had just experienced. He didn't give his body time to recover from it. His hands shook, his whole body did for that matter. He could hardly think straight. He sat down next to Julia and sighed, then pulled her to his chest. "God Jules, you're the only one I have. You can't go off like that. You're my best friend. I'd die if I lost you," he told her before placing a kiss on her head. Julia didn't say anything at all while he spoke. She sat there as silent tears rolled down her rosy cheeks. Once she was sure Jeff had no more to say she finally spoke up. "He said he was going to rescue us. He told me Todd was evil. Like he was taking people and harvesting their magic then killing them." She sniffled and looked at Jeff who was giving her a look that made her feel rather stupid. "I understand. IT's hard to trust anybody around here, when we don't know what is going on. You want to trust somebody. And you choose to trust the wrong guy. And you can't agrue with me that he was good at all. He tried to knife me..." Julia nodded with a frown. "He was handsome, and he spoke so well. Everything he said sounded so true." "Don't let a handsome face and a smooth tongue win you over Jules," Jeff said. With out a pause he stood up from the bed and told her to eat. She had missed breakfast. |
Marcus was shaking. He was confused and angry, and scared, although he didn't want to show it. He couldn't keep quiet, it was just him and Amelia now. "I'm with my sister." He announced. He didn't want to mention what he had just seen take place, with Jeff running out the door after Julia. "I don't want to sit by and watch as people get hurt. When do we do something?" He asked. The question was more for Amelia's benefit than his. She would be proud that he was showing bravery. Marcus only felt sick inside. This wasn't supposed to be his life, but it seemed fate had other things in mind. He looked over at Amelia, who was beaming at him. With a half shrug, Marcus looked back down at his empty plate, not wanting to say anything more. He had wanted to say forget it, and demand that Todd take them back home, but Marcus had just sealed his own fate; there was no backing out now. "Besides, someone has to protect my sister from guys who only flirt to get some." Marcus stared directly at Chris as he said that. Might as well make it known he didn't trust the guy. Amelia, he knew, would be furious, but Marcus didn't care anymore. She was going to get hurt by Christopher, and Marcus was determined to put a stop to it before things got out of control. If it meant following Amelia to hell and back, he would protect her.

Chris was slightly hurt by Marcus' comment. He was sure that it was specifically aimed at him, but what ever. He would talk to Amelia about it later. If it was that big of a problem he would just stop what ever he was doing wrong. Come to think about it, he wasn't really flirting, was he? Heck, he never really flirted with a girl openly. In fact he wasn't even sure what was considered flirting. Maybe it would be best just to stay a bit away from her and not talk to her unless he had to? He didn't want to have to confront her brother. She was a nice girl with an overprotective brother. Maybe he had some sort of sister complex? He wasn't sure, but now wasn't really the time to be contimplating all this. "I guess, since we are here.. We better do what we can, huh?"

Ah, Gods above, it thought, next time i'll pick middle-aged folks. The young ones were so over emotional. He wondered how much worse it could have been if he had to deal with teenagers instead. Because of the drama he decided he would leave those involved alone for now. "We must be careful," he stated. "Deumos is dangerous, as you now. He has minions lurking around every world. He cannot move world to world yet, that I know of, but we must be cautious. Even if he cannot get you, his people can." The rabbit made a mighty leap and landed on the table. Now he was a bit higher off the ground and he could see the others easily. With out a word he did a back flip and the area under him turned white. He landed on the table, and the light disapeared. He did a little bunny shuffle and pushed forward a knife with it's nose. It had a silver handle and the curved blade was sheithed in a matching scabbard. "This is mine, it allowed to travel worlds. It's a gift from the gods. Todd may be able travel, but this will be of aid to you. You can use it to contact me because it is connected to me, so to speak. I want somebody, somebody very responsible to take this, if it is lost there will be no way to contact me and no way for me to help you once you reach each world." The rabbit looked around. "Please be on your way as soon as you are ready. I will be here to answer any questions if you have them," it said. |
Abby listened as Alex, Amelia, Marcus, Todd, and Christapher filled her in on what she had missed when she was with Julia and Deumos. it seemed as if the group was now coming together and agreeing to help, at least Marcus and Amelia did. knowing what she was up against now she couldn't just go home and leave these people to fend for themselves. "I'm in as well, but I don't think I should have that knife" she announced she turned to see Jeff and Julia walk back into the room. Julia sat down to eat and Jeff sat protectively next to her. she didn't know if Julia had told the others about her powers yet but Abby decided that they needed to know. "so" she began. "while I was with Julia in the hall earlier she lit herself on fire. and then put it out" Abby didn't know if that was the best way to tell them or not but she hoped that no one would take it the wrong way.

Jeff wasn't hungry enough to eat much at all. He was stressed out. He and Julia committed them self to this wacky adventure. He watched the rabbit do its flip and a speech about the knife. "I don't know which of these people are responsible at all," Jeff said. He pointed at Alex and spoke. "She seems a bit to clumsy to be trusted with something like this. He turned to Julia and thought about not saying anything, but did it anyways. "Julia is to forgetful, and she'd probably cut her hand off. Amelia seems a bit to high strung for such a weapon. As for Marcus, I don't know enough about him, except that he might have secret thoughts about marrying his sister..." Then he turned to Todd. "I still don't trust this guy, and I wouldn't trust him with anything sharp." ((k this is for chris <.<)) "Chris seems cool, hes a bit quiet, but he seems like the sort who would know how to handle a knife." He shrugged and left nothing to be said about himself. He wasn't sure if he wanted such a thing that was supposed to be some gift of the gods. "I just say we take a vote or let Mr. Rabbit decided on this thing." As they all thought about who should take temporary ownership of the godly mystical knife Abby spoke up explaining Julia's power. Instead she made it seem like the girl had been playing with fire. Jeff half-glared (if that is possible?) at Julia. "Mind explaining all that to us?" Julia laughed. First time she truly laughed. After what happened not to long ago she had forgotten all about that. "I guess I found my 'power'" she told them. "I was talking to Abby and I was rather upset and BAM!" -she clapped her hands together- "I was on fire." |

Abby just nodded at Julia's explination. then she thought about what Jeff had said about the knife. "I don't really know any of you guys all that well, but Jeff is right. I think it is going to be between himself , Marcus, and Chris" she turned to the others "no offense you guys" then she turned to the little rabbit. "I guess it is up to you who you give it to"

Chris looked at the rabbit (i need to make a name >.<) and sighed. "Does anybody have anything else to say about us 3?" He looked over at Marcus. "I think Jeff or I should carry it. Marcus is to much a pretty boy to be dealing with a weapon. He probably doesn't even know how to use it. So lets choose between myself and Jeff."
Alex nodded. She agreed with everything said so far. She didn't know Jeff to well, so she voted for Chris. "I think Chris should take it. He seems right for it," she said. Besides, Jeff seemed to be a bit over the top. He might explode in anger and shank somebody and she let the others know. "I think Jeff over reacts to situations and has a hot head. I don't mean for anybody to be insulted," she added. |
Jeff didn't really like the fact to be pointed out that he had a short temper and a hot head. But it was true, and maybe Alex had a point. Yet he didn't think that it should effect whether or not he should have it. He wasn't about to be an idiot and vote for himself, so yet again he didn't say anything. Of course Julia voted for him. "I know Jeff, he is very responsible with things," she explained. "I think he should take it."
Jeff smiled only a little bit. He wondered what Abby and Amelia would vote. Jeff assumed that Amelia would pick her brother, because she knew him best. |

Abby looked around at everyone. she seemed to be put on the spot to decide which of the tree guys got the knife. she didn't want to upset any of them for not choising them. so she decided to think about it rationally. who would be the best canidate to have something of such importance? she wondered to herself. she didn't really know chris and marcus, and one of the only things she really knew about Jeff was that he was a good kisser. "lets see" she said quietly. "Jeff does have a bad temper" she turned to him with pleading eyes "please don't take offense to that" then she turned to marcus "and you seem to be just a bit too protective of Amelia, how can I trust you to protect any of us others if she was in any sort of precieved danger in your mind?" then she turned to chris. "I don't really know much about you but you seem a little bit too shy to handle something so important... and sharp" she said "please don't take offense!" she added. then she thought for another minute "and even though Jeff's temper is short I think he is best suited to handle this." she said quietly "so I choose Jeff." she let out a breath waiting for the others to be mad at her for choising him, thinking they might think she chose him because of the somewhat obvious crush she had on him.

Chris frowned. It didn't really matter that she didn't pick him, but seriously. Too SHY? He owned a dozen knives. That was just an insult. "Well fluffly," he said adressing the bunny. "I guess it goes to Jeff." He picked up the knife by the handle and flipped it around to hand it to Jeff. "Please don't drop it," he groaned. So the decision was made, and Chris wasn't upset about it. He was glad Marcus didn't end up with it. He had a feeling that he would take it to his head and try to make himself leader. That guy was such an ass, he thought.
Alex pulled her feet up on the chair and just smiled. She didn't care who it went to. She just wanted one of the boys to handle it. After all it was as much as a weapon as it was a magic device. Important and dangerous. "So, now that we have that.. Now what?" The rabbit squeaked. "Make haste. Use the device or Todd. Travel to the first world and contact me once there. I'll give you instructions and the artifact that must be obtained." |
"Alright," Jeff spoke. He grabbed the blade and examined it. "So, explain to use how to activate this thing. How am I supposed to use it anyways?" He poked at it gently and looked it over yet again. It didn't look like it had any special godly powers. It looked like a rather fancy knife. He pulled it out and examined the blade, it was rather sharp. He wondered if he'd have to use it at all.

Alex shivered. "That is kind of weird," she said. Chris agreed. "Let's hope he doesn't will us some place horrible." "Well if you have no questions, be on with your journey, there is no time to waste. Deumos may come back for you all." |
Abigayile looked over at Todd, she trusted traveling with him more then traveling with the use of a knife. the thought of it just sounded silly. "so where to Todd?" she asked in an innocent voice. Todd looked over at them, He was surprized and greatful that they had all decided to help. Yet he was a little saddened that none of them trusted him enough with the knife, although he didn't really need it. He knew where they needed to go first. It was the land of the dead. also known as zombies. he didn't like the thought of having to explain where it was they were going so all he said was "my room." He got up and walked to his room with them all following behind him. when he got in his room he walked over to the closet and opened the door. inside was a swirling mess of the portal between worlds.."now you will all have to hold hands" he said grabbing abby's hand. Jeff held Abby's and Julia's, Julia held Alex's, chris held Alex's and Amelia's, and Amelia held Marcus's. they stepped through the portal.

Amelia had remained quiet throughout the entire debate. She was livid, with the feud that was now going on between her brother and Chris. She couldn't choose sides, but she was furious that once more, her brother was stepping in on something he shouldn't have, and she didn't appreciate Chris calling Marcus a pretty boy. She would have a chat with both of them later, but Amelia couldn't help but feel more anger toward Marcus. She really liked Christopher, and if he started avoiding her because of Marcus, Amelia would be very unhappy. "Fine, let's go." She snapped, her arms folded and her eyes narrowed. "We've wasted enough time here." Her mood had gone extremely downhill, and the sooner they left on this journey, the better she'd feel. It would take her mind off of the situation at hand. "Marcus, you're an ass." She muttered, so only he could hear. "Don't ruin this for me." Marcus only rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"You heard what he called me. A pretty boy." He said, loudly. "I don't care what he said to you, you deserved it. You're being rude, he's a nice guy." "I don't trust him." Marcus said stubbornly. "He's no better than the other guys you were with." "What are you, some sort of parent?" Amelia whined. "Leave me alone, I'm old enough to handle myself. In case you haven't noticed, I haven't dated anyone in years. We're both adults here." "Sure." Marcus said sarcastically. "You're very much like an adult, with all the booze you drink, the parties you throw and go to, and the guys you've been with. You're a bright one, you are." "Fuck off." Amelia snapped. She pulled away from him, and folded her arms again. Only this time, she blinked back tears. Her and Marcus had never fought this bad. All because of a boy? This was rediculous. There was no time to apologize though. They had to begin. Amelia was the first to go through the portal, with Marcus right behind her. Due to the argument, neither of them knew what they were doing first. They were in for quite a shock. ((I'll be regular blue from now on.)) |

Jeff had overheard the whole thing with Amelia and her brother. He felt bad for her. Then suddenly realized and wondered if he acted the same way towards Julia. No, he wasn't that bad. Marcus went a little overbored, he thought. Once they arrived in the new world Jeff approached Amelia. He offered her a causual greating. "Say, I don't mean to but into personal affairs, but if you want me to try and talk to your brother. Maybe I can get him to.." he shrugged trying to think of what exactly he could do. "you know.. Chill out a little?" He gave her an akward smile. He didn't like seeing pretty girls be hurt, especially by the men in their lives who are supposed to love them the most. And in her case itw as her brother. He could tell Marcus loved her and wanted to protect her, but he had to let the girl live her life. He couldn't shelter her always. |
