Mei couldn't stand the tension. She shifted uncomfortably, her eyes scanning the crowd for her opponent. She knew the girl was still there- the heat that had fell upon them when the girl had became a demon still lingered- but she didn't know where. Had she become invisible? Mei wouldn't put it past her.

Finally unable to stand there any longer, she took a few steps to her right...

The moment her opponent shifted, Hi-Ko-Rin mimicked her--following her movements step for step while crouching inverted in the shadowy void.

She could practically taste her opponents defeat, feeling the anxiety the dark haired girl emitted. It was only a matter of time before this match ended, and the young demoness felt it would be in her favor. But she wasn't about to let it end just yet.

She hadn't had enough fun yet.

Finally, she grew tired of waiting. Reaching her hand towards the rippling surface of the void, Hi-Ko-Rin slowly dipped her fingers into the obsidian liquid. With blinding speed, she ripped her hand out of the shadowy realm, grasping the female human by the ankle.

Darkness spewed from the ground where the demoness' arm appeared, erupting in tangible
spouts and waves.

Using the girl as an ankor, Hi-Ko-Rin hoisted herself waist-up from the shadowy void. As soon as her other hand was free, she raised it above her head and clenched her clawed hand into a tight fist.

The shadowy tide swirled beneath both fighters and then ebbed, slipping behind the human female.

"I'm not letting you off that easy. Bô still hasn't had a chance to play yet, after all," Hi-Ko-Rin said, smiling like a giddy child while pointing behind the girl named Mei Huo.

The shadowy wave reared, towering above both girls. It twisted and swirled, occassionally jumping with convulsion-like jolts.

Before long, it had taken on an almost-human form. Two small, glowing white eyes peered down from a round, smiling head. It tilted its head at an odd angle to the side in an almost curious action. Long, dangling arms swayed from side to side as the lean torso rocked unsteadily. At almost 32ft in height, the creature cast a long shadow that led back to his demoness master.

Feigning an angelic smile, Hi-Ko-Rin giggled and called to him, "Bô, meet Mei Huo. She's just dying to play with you."

Mei turned ever so slowly, her face still pale from the shock that she was fighting to overcome. Somehow the girl had appeared from beneath her. How this was possible, she did not know, but it was the most terrifying thing that had ever happened to her.

At least, until she saw the monster that stood behind her. The girl's jaw dropped as she craned her head back, looking up at its face. Something metallic struck the ground; glancing down, Mei was surprised to see that her fans had fallen from her limp fingers. Swallowing hard, she looked back up at the creature, giving a tiny nod toward it before spinning around and giving the demoness her people's customary signal of surrender, slouching slightly, her arms bent at the elbow and crossed at the wrist.

"Okay, I'm done," Mei said in a voice that sounded much calmer than she felt. "You win."

Hi-Ko-Rin stared at her opponent emotionlessly for a moment before a wide grin crossed her features. Grunting, she hoisted her lower half up from the shadowy void and stood proudly, hands resting on her hips.

Cocking her head to the side, she raised an eyebrow and looked down at Mei condescendingly before repying, "Oh, darn. And I was just beginning to warm up, too." Then, with uncharacteristic camaraderie, she leaned forward and bowed quickly. Standing up straight, she smiled and held out her hand, adding, "Daisuke says this is how you should treat a worthy opponent. You lost, but you did well...for a human. I had fun, Flesh-Monkey, thanks."

"What?!" Rin shouted, slamming her hands down in outrage. "What the heck is this? A forfeit?! No way!! I want to see some blood!! Man...!"

"Well too bad!" Hi-Ko-Rin shouted back, looking up at the commentator and sticking out her tongue.

"Her time's up, anyway," Daisuke sighed, reapplying the demoness' seal.

"What? No! To soon, Daisuke..." Hi-Ko-Rin whined, watching as her horns, wings, and claws disappeared. Bo began to disappear as well, one of his long, clumsy arms waving good-bye as he did so.

"Poo...Fine, then. On to the next match, Mizuko??" Rin asked, turning to her partner.

Standing up straight, she smiled and held out her hand, adding, "Daisuke says this is how you should treat a worthy opponent. You lost, but you did well...for a human. I had fun, Flesh-Monkey, thanks."

"Ah..." Mei looked at the demon's hand warily, wondering if this was some kind of trick, before reaching out and giving it a quick, but firm, shake. She then gave the girl a small bow, bending slightly at the waist. "Thank you as well. The fight was certainly... interesting."

Mizuko facepalmed, rolling her eyes and giving a low groan. "Ah, c'mon, Mei... is that really the best you could do? Man, why'd I have to make such wimpy characters...?"

"Hey, you didn't make me so I could fight demon girls from the underworld... or whatever!" Mei snapped, glaring up at her creator with her sharp hazel eyes. "I didn't ask for this anyway," she added, marching off toward the stands.

The blue-haired girl stuck her tongue out at her creation before turning to her friend.

"Poo...Fine, then. On to the next match, Mizuko??" Rin asked, turning to her partner.

"Guess so. Let's hope that this one is a bit more entertaining," she replied, grinning with anticipation. "Who did you have in mind, Rin?"

"Hm...I dunno..." Rin replied, placing a lot of consideration into her next choice. "Something fun. Something...unexpected."

She scanned the audience with keen eyes, searching out the best contestant.

Finally, her gaze landed on one particular creation. A devious smile tugged at her lips as she rested her chin on laced fingers, cooing, "Oh, Cid, dear~! Wouldn't you like a chance to play?"

"Hmm... Cid, huh? I think I have the perfect opponent for him..." Mizuko said, grinning maliciously as her violet colored eyes came to rest on a particular character of hers. "Come on up, Akilo!"

A tall man rose slowly from his seat, his eyes hidden by a curtain of bright red hair. He wore nothing but a pair of brown cloth pants, and his skin was extremely pale. Suddenly he grinned, revealing pointed yellow teeth, before starting up onto the dueling platform.

The blue-haired girl cringed slightly at the sight of her creation's poor teeth.

"Woo-hoo! This is going to be GREAT!!" Rin cheered, pumping her fist in the air. Then, she looking at Cid, she jerked her head towards the stage and called, "Hey! What are you waiting for? Show 'em what you got, Ciddy-boy!!"

Cid looked up at Rin and slowly nodded his head. Standing, he crossed the arena grounds and climbed onto the platform.

Tilting his head back, he looked up at his opponent with emotionless eyes. Playing with his sleeves, Cid nonchalantly waited for the match to begin.

Just before Rin was about to give Mizuko the O.K., Serenity burst into the area.

"Hey!!! Amane, I'm back!!!!" she called, her arms loaded with odds and ends. "I found the all this stuff along with the clock faces, and though..."

She froze, looking over the mound of scraps in her arms at the arena. Her eyes widened and her arms went limp, dropping all of her findings on the ground.

Suddenly, she gasped, "WHERE THE HECK DID ALL THIS STUFF COME FROM?!?!"

"Crap. I forgot about you..." Rin sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "Do you have to be so loud? Isn't it obvious? We made an arena out of our IMAGINATION!!!"

Then, Serenity spotted Cid on the arena platform. Flinging her hand forward, she pointed at Cid and looked up at Rin accusingly.

"W-what's Cid doing up there?" she inquired, panic obvious in her tone.

Rin smiled sheepishly before replying, "Um...fighting?"

Serenity paled, nearly fainting at the thought. She looked back at Cid, and then looked over to Cid's opponent. The man was so large ominous.

"No way! T-that's crazy!! He's a child!! You can't expect him for fight that guy alone," she cried, looking up at Rin worriedly.

"Fine. Why don't you go help him, then?" Rin grinned devilishly, pointing over at the platform. She then looked over at Mizuko and added, "That is, if it's okay with you, Mizuko."

"Sure!" Mizuko said gleefully, her face alight with a brilliant smile. "That ought to make things more interesting!"

Akilo, who's keen ears missed little, seemed to perk up. He gave a terrible laugh that seemed to tear itself from his throat. "Two?" he said, glancing about at the crowd, almost looking as if he couldn't quite believe it.

Mizuko looked over at the person reading this thread (clearly breaking the fourth wall even though it says in the unwritten RPG Bible that this is not allowed) and said, "If you can't understand what he means, he's just excited that he can feed on two blood bags without any opposition."

Looking at Serenity, Rin grinned devilishly and said, "Well? You heard the girl, get up there!"

Serenity glared at her creator as she slowly made her way up onto the arena platform. She took her place beside Cid, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder as she looked up at the dangerous adult opponent standing in front of them.

Something about him caused her blood to run cold, an unknown anxiety filling her body. His eyes and those fangs...they weren't human. It was a similar feeling to the one she felt when she first saw Zellogi, the shinigami.

"So...what are you? A vampire?" she asked bluntly, pointing a finger up at the tall man. She then turned to look over at Rin and inquired, "If he's undead, the how in the world are we supposed to beat him?"

Raising an eyebrow, Rin replied, "I'm not going to tell you. You're a smart kid--you figure it out."

"Should've known you'd say that..." Serenity groaned. Then, feeling something tug on her pant leg, Serenity looked down to see Cid looking up at her.

He smiled slightly and placed a hand on his jacket. She looked at him questioningly at first and then, realizing what he was implying, smiled and nodded.

"It looks like our fighters are ready to go. What do you say, Mizuko? Should we start the battle?" Rin asked, turning to her fellow commentator.

Monty walks into the battle. "I don't care what the title says, i'm coming inot this RP and you can't do a thing about it." takes out katana.

Rin watched as the boy entered the battle. She wrinkled her nose in distaste, disliking his audacity and disregard for the rules. Looking over to Hi-Ko-Rin, she grinned devilishly and nodded her head in the boy's direction.

"Take care of him, will you?" she said, lazily looking back at Monty. She then looked to Daisuke, who nodded knowingly and released the demoness' seal.

For once, Hi-Ko-Rin was delighted to oblige. She didn't even bother to walk over to her prey. Slipping into a nearby shadow, she quickly slid below the boy and, with a clawed hand, grabbed him and dragged him into the shadows--dropping him off in a barren span of the Nether Realm.

"Now stay here and think about what you've done...I'll come back and get you later...if you're still alive," Hi-Ko-Rin snickered, quickly disappearing without another word.

"What nerve," Mizuko said, shaking her head as the demoness pulled the trespasser into the shadows. "Seriously. It says private roleplay for a reason."

Akilo gave a terrible laugh, his fangs flashing as he smiled at his two victims. In a blink of an eye, he pushed off from the ground, running toward them in long, quick strides, his fingers curled like claws.

For the first time...probably ever...Cid smiled--or rather--his lips turned up in a devious grin. His eyes almost had an eerie red glow as he looked up at the assailant.

He retrieved a small, simple black notebook from his coat--the words "Death Note" written on the cover in white.

Serenity smiled in relief as she saw their secret weapon. Then, looking at the vampire, she calmly said, "You're in trouble now..."

Monty poped out of the netherworld and said "ow that was extreme, uncalled for and not very fun, that place had no Cookies. I only came here to say one thing."
