ABILITIES.

This is a private roleplay between me and Vanidar. <3

Okay, I just want to make sure I get the story right, so I'll post what I think it is. Tell me if I get anything wrong, okay? xD;;

The Plot(?):

For centuries, humans have been in war over dominance. There were humans with special powers, 'abilities', to 'put nature to their own use'. Then there were the regular, everyday humans, who were threatened by those humans with abilities, casting them out of their civilizations, taking away their right to live, and threatening their existence.
Well, those humans with abilities didn't take that with smiles on their faces. They will fight for their freedom, and take back their lives which were thrown away. They will get revenge..!

Name: Coora
Gender: Girl
Age: 23
Height: 5'9''
Weight: ...She's skinny... -doesn't know weight lol-
Clothes: Click for clothes, ALSO has a realllyy tiny silver lip ring, on the bottom right right side of her bottom lip. It isn't that noticeable. :P
Abilities: Can use FIRE. Subelement is WATER. (Coora can also arch, and though it isn't an ability, she uses her abilities to make her arching technique even better.)
Loves: Pirates, Pirate related things, taking her time, cloudy and wet days, the rain, moss (she thinks moss looks cool lol), cicadas.
Hates: Meat, Silence, being interrupted when talking, dogs, humans without abilities, thieves
Personality: Coora is a very confident person. She is more laid back and takes her time on everything, but when she gets hyper, she'll become more silly and energetic than people think she could. (Though she doesn't like that side of herself.)
Family: Has a brother of the age of 10, though was separated when he was 3, because their mother and Coora were driven out of town after everyone found out they had abilities. Since their father and her brother(?) didn't have any abilities, they never saw Coora and her mother again. Coora's mother died from the flu three days after she (Coora) turned 20.
Other: Coora's vegetarian. She has good archer skills, and loves to arch at that. (duh lol) Coora was traveling with a 'freedom fighters' group, going to places where humans with abilities were being either imprisoned or mistreated and fighting for them, until she was separated when their camp was raided by normal humans while they slept. Now she travels alone with nothing but a pair of clothes and a nightdress, her archer supplies, and a bag with half a sandwich in it. Currently traveling in a forest in Southern America(?).

My Character


Name: Vanaxus (Goes by Ax or Axus)
Gender: Male
Age: 22 turning 23 soon
Height: 6'
Weight: 180, but skinny, it's all muscle
Clothes: Skin tight, clothes. Normally leather pants but occasionally skinny jeans. Though rare, when he does wear a shirt it is either mess or spandex type; he normally prefers not to wear one at all. Tall, heavy duty calf boots that are always over whatever pants he wears.
Abilities:Can use EARTH (no subelement that he knows about yet)
Loves:Cats, water, there are others but no one knows about them
Hates:Small dogs (chihuahuas and similar), being labeled by normal humans just because he has abilities
Personality:Shy and insecure around others, he rarely shows that he has his ability at all. Normally he spends his time training or just bending alone because it gives him confidence to know that he is skilled.
Family:Was ostracized from his family at a young age when they discovered that he had an ability. It is the reason he is as insecure as he is.
Other: He rarely divulges information about himself, preferring to keep mainly to his own devices. He lives in a small town of humans that do not know he has an ability. He often leaves for extended periods of time, disappearing into the wilds to bend.

((So sorry about that. I had to space for a bit and go feed my animals ^^;; wouldn't have taken so long if I didn't own so many.))

I sort of spaced out for awhile, and just looked up random pictures of clothes I liked. That's my excuse for being 15 minutes late. xD;;

Axus pushed aside a low branch. He was in the woods on one of his favorite trails. It wasn't much of a trail, moreso just a very slight clearing of the dense underbrush. It led to a beautiful clearing:beautiful to him that is. Almost there... He thought with a smile as he shook his hair from his eyes. A few more steps brought him to the edge of the clearing.

Round and very rocky, the floor of the clearing was nearly bare and completely flat. That's the way Axus left it last time. He left it differently each time just for fun. Dropping his small day pack onto the ground he shook out his arms a bit. His bare chest had just a hint of sweat on it from the heat of his hike and the skin was tanned a pretty brownish red. Two thin red lines crossed over his shoulders from the straps of his pack.

[[ Wow~ That is a lot of animals! I wish I could own that many without going broke! xD; I've always wanted to own a horse and a goat or two. I love goats<3 8D;; ]]

"Let's see..." Coora stood behind a rotting, fallen tree, with her hands on her hips. "I'd use it, but I don't wanna start a forest fire.." She bit her lip and tapped her foot hard on the muddy ground. Standing there for a good long minute, "I guess I could move it, hmm? Hopefully it's not too heavy." She stepped up closer to it, put her hands on the side of the dirty, rotting tree, and slowly, taking her time, started pushing her way through. "Gahhh..!" She grunted, closing her eyes, and gave it a huge budge. The next thing she knew, she was on the ground, her bow and arrow supplies on the ground around her. "C-Craaaappp!" Coora flapped her hands a little, getting the dirt off. "I guess I'll have to go around it."

After getting up and picking up the supplies, she went looking around for a small path. Failing to find any, she decided to slowly push through the trees and plants, getting some small cuts and scrapes on her arms and legs.

Axus was just going through the motions to move the rocks from the outside ring of his clearing when he heard it. Someone was clomping through the woods near him. Whoever it was wasn't making any efforts to be quiet.

Running in his silent way, even in his boots, Axus ran to his day pack. Pulling out the small dagger tucked into the front pocket he strapped the sheath to his boot; the daggers hilt came up to even with his knee. Pulling it from the sheath, he swung his bag onto his back and sidled into the woods. Somehow, even here with leaves underfoot, he still managed to remain quiet. He walked around the perimeter of the clearing until he saw her. A girl, about his age with a little mud on her, was heading straight toward his clearing. He ducked through the underbrush until he was nearer and watched her.

((It's alright, I was in and out the whole time, food, then had to put clothes away and what not :P))

[[Lol, I figured you did, having a horse and thirty chickens. xD I'd die to live on a farm with horses, chickens, pigs, goats and all that good stuff<3 :'> Too bad I don't, rofl.

Scraping her way through the broken tree limbs and wild plants, Coora started to feel a presence. She looked behind her, but just shrugged and thought nothing of it. "Who the hell would be out here, anyways? Only a mental would be walking around out here.. alone..." Coora stopped in her tracks, with a blank face. "..Umm.. Maybe I should think before I talk. Heheh. At least I'm alone, so nobody heard my stupidity." She looked up towards the sky for a moment to watch a few leaves fall from a tree.

I wonder what time it is? Coora thought, getting a bit hungry. "I should probably take a break. That stupid fallen tree.." She mumbled to herself, pushing her way through more limbs and plants, looking for a nice log to sit on. Finding a rather small log, Coora slid off her pack filled with a bow and arrows, and grabbed the half sandwich she had hidden inside of the pack. There were a few specks of dirt of it. "Dirty food. Yay." She blew the dirt off, taking a bite into it.
The sandwich has lettuce and some bits of celery and carrots, with no meat. She was vegetarian, after all!

Oh, okay~ c: Time really is flying tonight. It feels like it was only 8:00pm a few minutes ago, and now it's 8:45pm. >-<; ]]

The moment she sat down, Axus made his move. He didn't know who she was but there was a tiny chance that she'd seen him going through his movements. If she had she would immediately have known he had an ability. If she did, he couldn't let her tell anyone.

With wide sweeping motions, Axus moved his arms making the ground around the girl rise up. It created a sort of cocoon around her completely covering her whole body up to the base of her head blocking any movement. When she was bound, he stepped forward out of the shadows. "Who are you?" He demanded quietly, his normally warm eyes were cold and hard.

((I know! Time flies >.<))

Coora looked at the ground, hearing a rumble, and then a 'crunch' type of sound. Her sandwich had fallen onto the ground, being covered in dirt and mud. E-Eh..? Her eyes closed, she didn't want to open them, but when hearing a voice, she shuttered and slowly opened one of her eyes. A man, shirtless, stood in front of her. Opening her other eye rather quickly, she struggled, trying to get free. M-My arms.. I can't move them enough to bend!

W... Who are you!? Coora felt her voice crackling from the shock of what happened so suddenly. Whoever you are.. She said, clearing her throat, I don't have anything you'd want to steal! Of course, Coora immediately thought that he was a thief with abilities. These days, because people with abilities can't have jobs, they've been stealing what they could whenever they can.

"I don't want to steal from you. Who are you?" Axus repeated. He didn't like how much she was moving and tightened the earth around her just enough to prevent any movement at all. He hoped he wasn't crushing her.

Stepping forward farther, he knelt in front of her. Like this, they were the same height. "Who are you, and what are you doing here? Normal humans shouldn't wander in these areas." He looked her directly in the eyes, one of his nearly black eyes was hidden behind his hair. She doesn't look dangerous...

If you don't want to steal from me then- Suddenly, the earth around her tightened.ahh..! A part of the inner earth poked out onto her arm, and she could feel a bruise forming around it. Closing one eye, she leaned her head back as he got closer to her, breathing a bit heavier.

N..Normal.. human..? What are you talking about? How offensive! She turned her head away like a pouting kid, her nose in the air. Don't go around squeezing people with your earth bending when you don't know if they even have abilities or not! You're just asking for a fight, you reeetard! Her tongue stuck out a little bit as she glared at him from the corner of her eye.
And get a shirt on, why don't you? Showoff. Coora said looking over his torso, trying to pick at him a little.

Axus ignored her snide remarks. He knew he was good looking but didn't not wear shirts to just show off; they made him uncomfortable and it was harder to move his body to move the earth when he had them on. He focused instead on what she'd said, a slow smile moving over his face he let the earth loosen a tiny bit with a small hand motion. "You have an ability? What kind? What can you control?"

Coora turned her head back over to his, still leaning it back a little. Well.. I don't know, what kind do I have? Maybe if you'd let me go I can show you? She gave a little hint, and then continued, I have control Fire. I would ask what you could control, but I think I got an idea. She looked at the earth surrounding her, a tear of sweat coming from the side of her face. I can use water, but only to a certain degree.. I'm not any good at controlling it, really.

Wiggling around a little bit, the chunk of earth not stabbing her arm anymore, she was able to wiggle her arms just enough to bend, but didn't want to burn herself trying. Oh how I'd like to burn his face off for ruining my sandwich..! Coora looked over at her muddy sandwich, imagining a tear falling from her eye, though didn't really do it.

Axus grinned a tiny grin and moved his arms just a bit, releasing one of Coora's arms. "Show me. If you try to hurt me, I'll kill you. Show me and I'll let you loose." He didn't want to hurt her, let alone kill her, but he would if he had to; he'd do anything to protect his secret to stay in his home.

He watched, his eyes open wide, waiting. If she had an ability then maybe she wasn't so bad. It was just so rare to find someone who actually had one... He shook his head just a bit as if to shake the thoughts out of it. His eyes were focused solely on her one free hand.

Coora gave a smirk, and pulled up her arm just as he released it. A small part on her wrist was forming a bruise, and she stretched it out and wiggled her fingers to help the blood run through, and she took a deep breathe. Snapping her fingers, fire sparked a little. Doing that a few times, she made a flame around her hand, and made it jump up and down like a ball. Satisfied- or are you still going to kill me? She lifted one of her eyebrows and looked at him with her tongue slightly out. Coora snapped again, and the flame slowly disappeared.
Trying to pull water out of the air around her, she was only able to get a drop, and it plopped right onto the mud below her. Like I said, I'm not very good with water.. Coora looked at the mud with a slight pouting face.

She stared at him after turning her head back to his. Hmm.. I wonder how he lives out here like this? Is he traveling.. Maybe he is with that group I was in..? Curious, she decided to wait for the questions until later. Coora wasn't the type to jump around asking a billion questions right away. She mostly kept things to herself, well, until it came to her abilities. She hated to hide them- even if it was to keep her from getting caught.

((S'alright :) No worries. I was the same way.))

"Excellent."Axus grinned even bigger then stood straight and tall. He put his hands together, pressing his palms together, he seperated them quickly and the dirt around her fell to the ground; there wasn't even a single speck of dust left on her clothes. "No. I'm not going to kill you, I just had to make sure that you weren't... normal. I live away from here in a completely human village. If you were going there..." He stopped and shrugged, his smile slipping a bit. "Let's just say, it wouldn't have been a very good day for you if you had."
He lapsed into silence; his normal way was silence and it was odd for him to be so talkative. It must have been the pleasant, but unexpected, surprise of finding another bender. He still stood straight and tall when an idea came to him. He pulled his arms up from his sides so that they were resting, palms together (almost sandwiched) at the base of his sternum. He pulled his right hand, the one on the bottom, out to the side and the earth moved. Her sandwich came directly to him. Tapping the toe of his boot, a small hill vaulted the sandwich into the air and he caught it. With a snap of his fingers, every trace of dirt and debris fell from the sandwich and it looked just like new. "Um.. It's still clean. There's nothing in it I promise." He said quietly.
It was also his way to look people directly in the eyes. It made him seem honest. Though he was really just good at hiding his true emotions and portraying the ones he wanted others to see. Right now, his eyes showed nothing and were probably quite eerie.

Coora sighed of relief when he let her go. She smoothed out her dress from keeping it from getting all wrinkled, and stretched her other arm out.

..Ohh.. I get it. So you hide your abilities from the 'normal' humans, so you can live in the village peacefully? She crossed her arms, closing her eyes and nodding. That means he's not with that group, I guess.. She was going to ask him what he was doing, but she just shook her head without any care. I'm just passing by.. Though, if there is a town ahead, I think I'll stop by. I need to get some proper rest and stoock up on food for the road! She chuckled a tiny bit.

Just as Coora looked over at her sandwich on the ground, she saw Axus clean up the mess of a sandwich. Ah.., she thought as he caught it. Oh.. Well, thank you! She slowly grabbed it, and then remembered to pick up her bow and supplies that went with it. Stuffing the sandwich in along with her other goods, she felt needed to introduce herself. My name is Coora. And, as you know, I bend fire. Smiling politely, she put out her left hand to shake his.
Coora was looking straight in his eyes, and felt more open to him. She couldn't tell what he was thinking, or feeling at that, but she didn't mind that. If she had the choice, she would like it if no one knew anything like that! It's because of how she acts around people that they can know whether or not to be suspicious of her. In fact, last time she was in a village, she acted so suspiciously that even just a bystander gave her a weird look. It's amazing how no one found out she had abilities..! Coora is good at taking her time and keeping things to her self, but she is horrible at acting or lying.

Rather than voice an answer to her first question, Axus nodded once. The next question couldn't be answered so simply though. "There is a town. But it's a ways away. About two days hike. Well, for someone who can't just move the earth and get there like I can. Anyways. The people there... Well, let's just say they're a bit suspicious of everything. I have to be very careful to be able to live there. I can only allow you to go if you promise to stay with me and not blow my cover."

He watched as she cleaned up her things. "Sorry if I hurt you." He said simply. No other explanations. When she offered her hand he looked at it oddly for a moment then shrugged slightly and shook it. His hand was calloused but soft: a workers hand. It was warm and slightly dry. "Vanaxus. But please, call me Ax or Axus."

It's like it's inevitable that whenever I try to roleplay, something comes up and distracts me from replying until a day or two later. D': Lol ]]

Shaking her hand along with his, she put it back down. I think I'll call you Axus for the most part, but I might call you Ax on accident. She gave a bit of a crooked smile. At least it's not Axel.. She sighed in her thoughts. It may be close, but it's still not the same as Axel's..
The reason why Coora thought that was because her younger brother's name was Axel. She called him Ax when she was annoyed or mad at him, so that is why she would mistakenly call Axus, Ax. Though, Axel didn't look like Axel at all, so it wasn't likely she would do that.

..Oh.. Hmm.. Coora closed her eyes and put her hand her hand over part of her lips, thinking. Well, great. I want to go- but I suck at lying.. Taking a minute to think about it more, she shrugged. Hopefully they won't ask any questions leading to my abilities, but if they do I thiinnkk I can keep from blowing our cover. Well, at least his. I wouldn't want to do that.. Not saying anything about her horrible acting and lying, she nodded her head. Of course, I wouldn't want to blow your cover! She put her hand on her hips, So, that means I'll be staying with you for the night when we get there? You did say that I couldn't come unless I stay with you. Coora laughed, jokingly, and patted his shoulder. Alright. So how do we get there? By foot, since I'm coming along? Though, like you said, that would take an awful long time. I wouldn't mind- though I do need to re-stock on food. She scratched her shoulder.

Axus nodded at what she'd said about his name. He didn't mind being called Ax; though it was a bit violent for him. He much preferred Axus; in his mind he liked being ''what the earth centered on''. Though he wasn't nearly that vain.

Without meaning to, Axus somewhat guessed her thoughts. "If you think that in any way your words may let something slip, don't talk. Let me do all the talking. They know me and trust me. They won't be so lenient toward a stranger. There've been to many attacks on the normals by those of us with abilities and the townsfolk are more than a little wary of anyone they've not known for years. And yes. If you stay the night, you'll stay with me. There's an inn but I don't think it'd be wise to let you stay there on your own. Just in case." When she'd touched him, he'd unthinkingly flinched away as if he were afraid of her touch or as if it were something that was contaminated. He didn't mean to do this, he just didn't like physical contact much, and most of the contact he had had been bad. So he preffered to avoid it at all costs.

Pulling her hand back up to her shoulder, Coora felt a bit awkward having done that to him, since he flinched away. Ah.. Maybe I should just keep to myself? We just met, anyways. I guess I'm being a little bit too comfortable around him. Coora smiled awkwardly, slowly putting her hand down.
She leaned her head to the side, her eyebrows twitching a bit. Well.. If you've already guessed, I'm not that good at lying- especially when it comes to my abilities.. She leaned her head up a bit lower, in a pouty way. Oh, they have? What's the name of the town? She slowly put her head back up, becoming curious. Hopefully I haven't been there while I was with that group, or there would be no doubt that at least one of the villagers would recognize me. She thought, though doubted she has.

Coora had gone through a lot with that group, the Freedom Fighters For Ability-Possessing Humans. She joined that group, after her mother died, when seeing them raid on a normal human village she was quietly passing through that shunned and mistreated the ability possessing humans. She doesn't even know how she could have gotten lost from the huge group. They were being attacked without notice by the regular humans, when camping in a small forest, and as they retreated, she was separated from the group while running.
