"I know i wanted an adventure... but i messed up big time... and im really sorry for bringing you into this crap..." Sami sighed,
"Hey it's not your fault any more than it is mine," said Ai, nudging her. "Besides, blaming ourselves won't get us anywhere." She tried to be positive, but she understood completely how Sami felt. She was feeling the exact same way.
Sami nodded, "We're sorry Kaito... thanks for saving us... but now you're in trouble. Sorry."
"Hey, you didn't drag me into this," said Kaito. "I decided to come. I'm happy to help you two because it's not your fault you're in trouble either. It's those Specials."
"Well whatever happens now... we've got to stick together right? With Sam or without Sam, us three gotta stay together."
"yeah, we gotta stick together," said Ai and Kaito nodded.
Time passed, and still neither the Healer or Sam emerged from the tent. A village woman came and gave them some food, and as they waited the sky beagn to darken. Ai could feel her eyelids closing as she sat down on the ground, leaning against a large, sturdy tent post. |
Kaito sat down next to Ai and let her rest her head on his shoulder, (awwwww). Sami sat down and hugged her knees, she was not going to sleep... she needed to know how Sam was.
Ai and Kaito were soon both asleep, Ai's head nestled on his shoulder, her green hair draped over both of them...
Sami carefully peeked through a whole and saw the old lady sticking pointy things in Sam, she gasped. What were they doing? Voodoo stuff thingy... she wanted to keep looking but she had to sleep a little.
*dunno what to write now... I'm asleep*
Sami stirred, some weird clattering and clapping awoke her, she soon realised where she was and peeked inside the tent, how long had she slept? Both Tai and Kaito were still sound asleep ... the women inside were still poking needles in Sam and dancing aimlessly around him.
Ai slowly opened her eyes and found her head on Kaito's shoulder. That explained why she wasn't incredibly uncomfortable. She rubbed her eyes and saw that Sami was also awake.
"Hey Sami..." she said sleepily. "How's he doing?" |
"Come and look... its freaky!! and im scared!!" Sami replied in a whisper
Ai peeked into the tent. "OMP. What. Is. She. Doing?"
"I dont know!!" Sami hissed a little loudly, "I wish they would report to us and tell us what theyre doing!"
Ai bit her lip. A part of her wanted to burst in and stop the madwoman, but what if whatever she was doing was really helping? It's not as if she, Sami or Kaito would be able to cure Sam. This may be his only chance.
"Maybe we should go ask the Chief," she suggested. "That is, if he'll talk to us..." |
"we should try..." Sami stood up slowly, straightening her clothes
Ai stood up and tentatively began to walk towards the Chief's tent. She wasn't sure quite how he would react. After all, he believed they were goddesses. But they were goddesses who were to blame for his son getting hurt.
Once at the Chief's hut, Sami breathed in deeply and then looked at Ai when she heard snoring from the tent... "What time is it?! He'll be asleep!!" she whispered
"I don't know, I don't have my interface ring," said Ai. It looked like early morning, because it was just starting to get bright.
" I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer..." But just as Sami finished her sentence someone spoke,
"Come in, the chief never sleeps." The chief sat up and watched them walk in the small hut. |
You just were sleeping, thought Ai, but she knew that she should avoid getting on the Chief's nerves.
"We're... um... really sorry about what happened to Sam," she said, unable to meet his uneven eyes. "We never meant for that to happen...." |
Sami looked at the chief apolagetically, "We are truely sorry,"
But the chief waved with his hand, "Just tell me the whole story of what happened." |
Ai was relieved that he didn't seem mad and did her best to explain what had happened since they'd last left the settlement. She told him that they had gone back to their city, but others had chased them away, and that they'd been pursued. She made it evry clear that it was those evil pursuers who injured Sam.
Sami wasnt sure whether to mention that those evil pursuers were now looking for clues as to find the cheif's people and their village, she looked at Ai questioningly.
