*guys queuing up to dance with us ^^*
Itaru's face went slightly red. "I just... thought I'd come." You mean you were hoping to dance with Aya thought Kikuyo, but she said nothing. |
"Aaah, look, girls! Our entourage, so who'd like to dance with the pretty blonde?" She motioned to Kikuyo and a number of guys shuffled over to her and offered their hands. Namihiko looked guarding of her. His eyebrows knitted. Some guys shoved of but one persistent bloke stayed and asked for a dance.
"So, you just thought you'd come to this one then," Tai shuffled closer to Itaru and Namihiko tore away from his girl long enough to irritate the Uchiha further, "Hmmm?" |
"I'm not the only pretty blonde here," said Kikuyo, looking pointedly at Aya. She shrugged apologetically to Namihiko and went up to dance with the guy who'd asked.
Itaru was still blushing, something which very rarely happened with him or anyone from his clan. Uchihas don't blush. |
"Aww, Namihiko's jealous..." Aya sang. Namihiko watched his date dance with the guy with slitted eyes, Aya laughed at his evilness. Tai continued to pointedly annoy Itaru, "Why are you blushing, Uchiha?"
"Back off, Nara." Itaru barked, but, Tai continued to fling him embarrasing comments. Itaru began to get very angry looking, he stood up very quickly and pushed his chair back. Tai smiled evily and leaned back in his, "Calm down, Uchiha. Jeez, you need to tell us when you're on your period." Itaru went for Tai but Aya grabbed his arm and pulled him back gently, "Hey, ignore the clever bastard. He's good with mind games, I'd get used to him trying to annoy you. Sit down and enjoy the dance." She said soothingly while smiling at him. Aya was normaly good at calming own a situation, a talent that normaly wasn't needed. However, it did have it's advantages at times. "Tai, shut up smart ass." |
Tai fell silent, but he still gave Itaru a wicked grin before turning to Su. Meanwhile, one of the boys who had come over to the table asked Aya to dance.
Kikuyo watched Tai make Itaru mad from where she was dancing. She was leading, the guy couldn't dance at all. She winced as he stepped on her feet for the fifth time. |
Just as the guy asked me to dance the principal announced that food was ready, everyone piled up into a long line. Itaru grabbed my hands and pulled me up from my chair to the line. "I wonder what slop they'll serve..." Itaru muttered.
"Hopefully it wont be too bad. The best cook stayed late and make all the food." He grumbled to himself. Aya smiled, "Hey, they have canned Soda, dude!" Itaru immediately perked up. "Good." |
Amidst all the chaos, Kikuyo managed to escape from her dance partner and find Namihiko. "Ouch. My feet are killing me. That guy can't dance at all."
|
"Aww, so I should have said I was the pretty blonde then?" Aya smiled evily and raised an eyebrow at Kikuyo.
|
"Yeah, you could have," replied Kikuyo. "But I think you're not a pure blonde."
|
"Is that supposed to be insultive? The blue is natural too. Thank you very much." Aya snapped her fingers and rocked her head.
|
"Not an insult, not a compliment. I'm just saying," shrugged Kikuyo.
"The blue looks good," said Itaru. |
"Why thank you, K!" Aya hugged her friend and turned back to Itaru, "And thank you, you are actually the first one to say that! I mean I've been around for a good few years... Someone should've noticed." She stared at Kikuyo and Tai.
|
"Troublesome... what did you expect me to say? 'Your hair has blue streaks'?" asked Tai sarcastically. "Anyone with eyes can figure that much out."
Su nudged him in the ribs gently. |
"I'm sorry that I am, close to the only one with NATURAL BLUE in my hair..." Aya muttered to Itaru as they selected their 'munchies' from the buffet table.
"So, why did you come tonight?" Aya asked Itaru playfully. "It couldn't have been for the retarded company... or the choice of dances...possibly the food, but that's yet to be judged." She stared at her hotdog with anticipation. |
"The company's not that bad," said Itaru.
Kikuyo grabbed some food, but a lot of it was stuff she didn't like. She took some dango and crisps, but that was really it. Namihiko didn't take much food either. "Watching your weight?" she asked him teasingly. "Do I need to?" "Nah, I'm kidding." |
"How so, Itaru?" Aya smiled evily. She then turned to Namihiko, "Of course you need a freakin' weight watch, fatty."
|
"Well you'll be a fatty yourself if you keep eating those hot dogs," Namihiko snapped back.
"Jeez, save it for later," said Tai in his bored tone. "I'm not in the mood for watching cousins argue." Itaru pretended that he hadn't heard Aya's question, and was instead paying attention to Namihiko and Tai. |
"Me, fat?" Aya faked a shocked expression and for her amazing comeback said, "Weh-ell done, Namihiko. You're so observant!"
|
Namihiko didn't reply, but shot her a look which said, "Whatever"
|
"I win, dude." Aya smiled slyly.
"Tai, the music's back on, can we dance to this one?" Su said quietly and the pair shot off. Namihiko shot a set of daggers to Aya before smiling at Kikuyo and dragging her away, "You have no option here. Let's go," he smiled. Aya laughed at her cousin trying to be as manly as possible while dragging Kikuyo away - not possible. She sighed and leaned against Itaru, resting her head on his shoulder. "This was funner than I thought one of these freaking things could be. What you think?" |
*are Itaru, Namihiko and Su one team?*
"Yeah, a lot funner than I'd hoped," he said, putting his arm around her. Kikuyo glanced around the room while she danced with Namihiko and caught a glimpse of Su and Tai dancing with eyes only for each other, and saw Aya and Itaru sitting together. The evening was going so much better than they had hoped. |
*Sure.*
Aya blushed when Itaru placed his arm around her. Sure, she knew she liked him - alot, but she thought she could handle it if the event of a hu or dancing came into effect. She couldn't. her face turned pink and she caught her breath when he pulled her a little closer. |
The dance ended, and Namihiko and Kikuyo left the floor. A new tune sprung up and a boy came over to her, asking her to dance, but she told him that she didn't know that dance.
"I don't think we should go sit with Itaru and Aya," said Kasumi tactfully. "They do seem a little pre-occupied," he said, "But he had better treat her with respect, because if not..." "Woah! I think you're taking the whole over-protective-cousin thing a little too far there!" |
"Hey, wanna dance? I actually know this song..." Itaru asked Aya, who was still blushing. Itaru raised an eyebrow, "Why are you pink?"
"I'm not! It's the lights...really. Sure, we could dance." Aya stammered a little. Itaru stood up and offered his hand to Aya, she accepted and they moved to the dancefloor to, once again, strut their stuff... |
Namihiko and Kikuyo sat down, and were then joined by Tai and Su. "To bad the evening's almost over," said Su wistfully. "The dance was fun this year."
