She looked down at her leg, "Ill be fine Ma'am" she said softly, "Its an old wound ill be fine to walk" she flicked her tail the soft white fur showed signs of silver and some grays and blacks. She smiled at her master and then looked again to the raven boy. Curious she stepped closer to him, her ears twitching slightly. She stopped when she was standing next to the Mjrn her sea green eyes widened when she saw his wings.
|
Mjrn blushed a little he complimented her. "Thank you ,Raven. And there is no need to call me miss. Consider me a friend," she said lightly her bell-like voice chimed. The girl courtsesied lightly when he bowed. The fairyfly looked at his beautiful wings when they unfolded. The beautiful ebony color was alluring. She could understand why this slave master bought him. Little Mjrn was unsure of what else to say she had never really spoken to a boy before besides her father. "I'm quite sad that I had not spoken to your earlier. I was in quite a shock from being brought here," she sated quietly, "But it is nice to see we will both be getting out of this place." Mjrn noticed Dia and smilied at her. "I am glad master Alice has bought you missie! You are so cute," she beamed at the girl. Then looked to Raven again. She had been quite tempted to take a step closer to him, but refrained now that Dia was beside her.
|
Raven's smile remained on his face as he once more gave her a small bow. "As you wish Mjrn" he said kindly and politely. His golden eyes glanced over at the young fox girl that joined the fairyfly woman's side. He gave her a kind smile as well and noticed that her eyes had slightly widened at the sight of his wings. It was something he was slightly use to, as he knew of the superstitions of those with black wings. "Do not worry Miss I promise I will not harm you. And if my wings are making you uncomfortable please let me know and I can have them disappear for a while" he said gently.
His gaze then once more returned his gaze to Mjrn. "Yes I am relieved that we shall be relieved from this place. I find this place much gloomier than the last one I was in. I too wish we could have spoken earlier. Perhaps this place wouldn't have seemed such as dark then" he said gently. He couldn't help a small shiver that ran up his spine for some unknown reason. The shiver had caused a few of his feathers to poof up on his wings before they slowly began to settle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alice still held a worried look in her eyes as she gazed upon her second new servant. "If the pain become too bad please let me know so that I may try to help you relieve it a bit" she said gently and kindly smiled. She watched as Dia went to the fairyfly's side and couldn't help but smile wider as the said fairyfly commented that she was glad that the rabbit demon had bought the fox. She knew that it was indeed a good decision. The rabbit demon had also caught a glimpse at the various shades that ranged from black to white with silver included. She found her fur to be quite beautiful. |
Cold, domineering, wealthy—all those terms could be used to describe the first impression that Lucien made on those he came into contact with, yet none of them could accurately describe the fear that he struck into even the most high-class demons. He was a tall man, muscular, with cruel eyes that bespoke strength and arrogance. He had donned his usual black attire for that day: a tight, black, long-sleeved shirt, black coat, form-fitting pants, and heavy steel-toed boots. His wings were withdrawn into his back, for all the clothes that he had that were made for winged demons were being washed. Having most of his staff gone was really inconvenient for the other employees as well as himself.
The tails of his coat flicked at his heels as he walked into the slave market, gloved hands clenched at his sides. Liquid golden eyes scanned the area around him as he walked ahead. There were other people who were looking to buy slaves as well. They were scattered about the cages like rodents to garbage cans. That was what he compared them to unless proven otherwise: garbage. Some people cast wary glances in his direction as he passed. Most people just got out of his way in attempt to avoid him. His gaze passed over a few of the caged slaves. They did not look to be in very good condition. The majority of them that he glanced at seemed to have been beaten within the last month at least. Lucien found that to be rather distasteful. Punishments were supposed to be more creative than simply hurting the person. There had to be more to it. He shook his head at the thought. It was obvious that the people who ran the place were not very intelligent. “May I help you, sir?” a voice inquired from behind. Lucian turned his attention to one of the merchants—a man with a burly build who was a little shorter than he with tan skin, dark eyes, and thinning black hair. A frown crossed the aristocrat’s lips at the sight of the creature before he looked into the cages again. There was a girl in the cage before him with her head on her knees. She seemed to be sulking about something, muttering to herself. “I suppose you could. I suppose that you already know that I am looking for a slave.” The man nodded and started to explain some of the slaves that he had on hand, his gaze not daring to meet with Lucien’s. While the man went on about a different slave, the young lord’s eyes returned to the melancholy girl in the cage nearest to him. “That is enough. I shall have a look around, myself,” he stated flatly as a signal for the man to leave before he approached the girl’s cage. He examined her for a moment with his penetrating gaze, pensively pondering if the girl was mentally all there. |
Suki glanced up at the man how was now in front of the cage. She shivered at the thought of another man purchasing her but then again she would rather be a slave to a man then stay in this gloomy place. She cringed a bit as she moved uncomfortably so she was sitting on her knees instead of her butt. Suki stayed quiet knowing very well not to speek unless spoken to.
|
Lucien’s eyes met with the slaves, and the corners of his lips turned down into a small frown. Most of the slaves looked pathetic. It was probably because of the harsh conditions in here. One would think that it would harden them instead of break them. Though part of him wanted a slave that still had spirit in it so that he could shatter it in his own way, another part just wanted to get a slave and get out. But—that was not going to be the case. There was more to buying a slave than finding the one that looked the best (like he was sure some of the people were doing).
No, they had to be looked over and checked, like if someone was buying a racehorse. Only, slaves were not as good as those horses were. If there was one thing that the lord was certain of, it was that he needed a hard-working slave. He would be able to punish them for whatever mistakes they made, but in order for them to be worth his money they would have to prove their worth. “Well, are you going to introduce yourself or not?” he asked with a voice that was tinged with ice, chilling the spirits of those nearby. He waited for a moment impatiently. “Whatever. Names are not important in this business. Tell me, what are your skills?” |
Dia smiled at the raven boy, "Im dia" she squeaked, her childish face lit up in a grin. Her ears shot up and she looked over at a man who suddenly started yelling, "Sir if you want i can point you to a slave that fits your wishes" she told him walking over slowly, slightly limping. Her ears were perked up and her white tail slid back and forth the sheer whiteness of it made it look as if it had its own inner light. Her sea green eyes looked over his face a moment. She wasnt afraid of this man, her master wouldnt let anything happen to her.
|
"M-my names S-suki Kazuno, sir, a-and I can entertain, cook, and I am a hard worker." Suki stuttered her soft red eyes stayed on the man for a moment then went to the floor "I can also turn into a white wolf and I can sometimes control the shadows around me. I am a mix between a dark witch and a white wolf." Suki continued as she explained her powers. When she was done she glanced back up at the master. He scared her slightly with his dark voice and looks.
|
Mjrn looked to Raven as his feather's puffed in the slightest bit. It was quite adorable she giggled slightly as they went back down."It may have seemed much nicer to the both of us. Then perhaps I wouldn't have seemed so horrified of everyone... do your feather's fluff up often?" she asked softly, "I don't have feathers, but their are scales on them... well when you touch them it comes off looking like powder..." She reached up and brushed her hand against her wing a small bit of powder in her palm. "See?" she asked giggling lightly as she held out her hand. The fairyfly had also heard the cruel man lash out. Her gaze looked to him for a brief moment then away. Not wanting him to lash out at her as well. Though she felt Dia was quite brave for adressing the man. Her gaze then went back Raven.
|
Raven too had heard the man's verbal lashing, although he chose not to look. He figured that it would simply be better to not get involved, least he risk causing trouble for his new Mistress. He too felt though that the small fox girl was rather brave to speak to the man and only hoped she would not be harmed for it. Though from looking at the one who was the Mistress of both Dia and Mjrn she would not permit her servants to be harmed.
His attention then turned back to the said fairyfly as she asked her question about his feathers. "Only sometimes such as when I'm startled, threatened or when I move a certain way. In a sense the feathers sort of have a mind of their own" he said gently. His golden eyes then became fixed on the girl's hand as she held out her hand to show the powder she had retrieved from her wings. Curiously, though hesitantly he reached out his own hand to touch it and noticed that it felt rather smooth though slightly like chalk dust. "That's rather interesting. I've never seen such a thing before. If you'd like you're free to touch my wings if you want" he offered softly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Calmly Alice gazed towards the man whom had spoken rather coldly to a girl in a cage as he inquired information about her. She noticed that her newest companion offered her assistance to help the man and had gone towards him. Instinctively she nodded her head towards Mjrn to indicate that she was free to continue talking and swiftly went to the side of Dia. The man didn't seem like the friendliest and she didn't want to risk her getting harmed in some way. The man didn't exactly frighten her, as she felt confident in her own demonic abilities, although there was something about him that caused her a small amount of unease that warned her to be careful either way. |
Suki glanced over to the two women who were now standing close to the side of the cage. She wished she could beg the woman who appeared to be a master to buy her rather than this man who seemed rather unfriendly. She quickly realized that this was a wish that could not come true since she noticed that the woman seemed to have already purchased two other slaves.
|
Mjrn stepped closer to Raven as she looked at his wings. As she stepped foreward she noticed the top of her head hardly came up to his shoulders. "I'll be gentle so I don't hurt you," she said softly. She stood on her tip toes and reached and touched his dark feathers. They were so soft in her touch. "They feel so, so, soft," her bell voice ran out. "These are not scales... what these?" she asked him gently. Mjrn stepped back a little still standing close to Raven. She felt her skin tingling with excitment. These sentations were so diffrent from anything she had ever felt before... what a strange day.
|
Darcie listened to the voices outside. She stood up after a while and climbed to her small window. Looking to the outside. It was dark in the alleyway she looked into. Soon though her arms gave out. Hunger being her weakening factor. Darcie landed back on her feet. Creating nothing but a small thud from her bare feet. Darcie heard small voices from the scared slaves near her. Gracefully she went to her door, grasping a bar in each hand. Listening to them describe themselves to the cold man. Darcie wrinkled her nose a bit. The demon inside of her wanting to get out and slap the scared girl around a bit. "mice..." She muttered under her breath. Turning back into her cell. |
“Interesting.” The high-class demon looked over the girl once more before looking around again. She had stated that she was a hard worker, which was what he wanted, but some slaves just said what they had to in order to get out of the hell that they were in (though, he really needed a slave that could clean…). He would have to keep her in mind, however. It was always best to see all of the options before making an important decision of any sort.
“…mice…” Hearing a mutter nearby, Lucien’s attention was drawn to another female slave. The slave in question had piercing grey eyes that shone in the shadows of her cell and tattered clothes. From the looks of her, the girl was a decent age, but she was a little scrawny for his tastes. Well, all of the slaves were a little thin. If he bought a slender one, he would have to put some meat on its bones. With a glint of interest in his sharp eyes, the man cantered over to the spot where she was held. There was a sign beside her door that stated her price, and he found it rather reasonable considering what an average slave would cost, which was quite a pretty penny. Money was not his concern, however, since he was not lacking in finances. “You…are not like the others caged in this prison. It is fascinating to find another pure-blooded demon amongst all of this filth,” he stated with a slight tilt of his head. Somehow the girl looked familiar to him, but he did not know how. A thoughtful expression came to his angelic features as he thought back. Oh, this is interesting… he thought as he remembered. He had been in a poker game with her husband once, a man who wasted no time in squandering what little he had for the thrill of the chances of earning triple the amount. The man was addicted. He had won a great deal of money from him, but did not take his winnings, for he did not have any need of it. He did not mention this, however, since he had never met the woman in person. There was no need to cause a scene. |
Darcie ignored the master at first. She would not bow to his feet and kiss the ground he walked on. No, she would do quiet the opposite with not remorse. Her eyes did find themselves glancing at the male. He was studding her like a hawk would a mouse before getting viciously ripped apart for dinner. The thought entertained her a bit. Though before Darcie could throw in a cold, May I help you?, he spoke. She had gotten his full attention with just one word? Remarkable. How easy this could become. Dacie turned around fully towards the man. Her eyes not changing a bit as he seemed to... compliment? her in a way. She decided to attempt to get rid of him as soon as she could. Masters usually did not like their slaves to be very disobedient. That fact she was a pure demon would have scared buyers away already normally. Darcie took a deep breath before reciting a very bland line. "Oh golly gee, someone has noticed me. I can cook and clean and all that other stupid shit.." Darcie told him. She had a very cold tone in her voice along with a strong sarcastic touch. Almost mocking the other slaves a bit. She turned away again, unsure of what to do. The man was still watching her. She could feel his eye upon her. "A daring one you are. Most would want a weaker form. Something to kick around and not put up much of a fuss." Darcie finally spoke, still holding anger in her voice. |
Raven couldn't help but kindly smile as Mjrn said she would be gentle so as not to harm him. "It's quite alright, they're rather sturdy so you needn't worry about harming me" he said kindly. He couldn't help but close his golden eyes and let a pleased smile cross his face. He had always found it soothing and pleasing when his feathers or wings were touched, perhaps it was caused by the bird in him that made him have such a reaction. After all he from the times he had encountered birds on the outside he had noticed that many of them also liked to have their feathers stroked.
His eyes opened once more as he felt the air shift slightly at her movement. By this time his feathers, seemingly of their own accord, had poofed out slightly once more in excitement. "Well really I've never actually seen wings made of scales, nor such soft powder coming from them, or ones that had colors in them that harmonzied beautifully in them. I've seen a few other wings of bird demons that were colorful, but none quite as beautiful as yours" he said gently and with his full honesty of his thoughts. In truth he had also never seen another with wings that matched and reflected their wings as the fairyfly girl before him. In his eyes she was both beautiful and elegant as well as a demon race that he had never seen before. For a few moments he allowed his mind to wander. He wondered a bit exactly how long his Mistress would permit him to speak with Mjrn. After all she had seemed and still appeared as if there were other places she needed and wanted to be, although he didn't really wish to cease speaking with the fairyfly either. If his Mistress commanded him though to leave he would obey, after all she was his new master and he was simply a servant whom was being allowed to speak with another. Out of the side of one golden eye he caught the movement of the man with the colder tone from before. He noticed that he now moved to a cell door rather than to another slave cage. He vaguely knew that there was a rebellious slave behind the door, though he didn't know too many specific details about the slave other than small tidbits of information that he heard from conversing slave traders that passed his cage while speaking of the occupant. From what he had heard he knew the person was a she, a bit unfriendly, a full demon and a rather rebellious one at that, that had sustained quite a few beatings in the past, and had perhaps been the one that had been in this particular market the longest. There had been a few different rumors as to her orgins, but he never had the desire to pry or find out which ones were true. |
Mjrn heard him say his wings were sturdy and giggled as they poofed again. Lightly she stroked the feathers again and smilied at Raven. The girl really hoped she would be able to see him again. She really did like him, the boy was so nice. The small fairyfly heard him compliment her and a pink blush colored her cheeks. She had never heard such kind words from a male before. Lightly she stepped back and looked up at him. "Thank you Raven," she said quietly.
The fairyfly looked to Alice and realized she most likely would want to leave. She frowned wanting to keep speaking to the raven then a thought came to mind. When she was younger she had seen her father take powder and place it into a friend's hand then he could send little butterflies with news for the person. She wasn't sure how it worked, but she was willing to try to speak with Raven. He was her true first friend outside of her parents though she was sure Mistress Alice and Dia would be as well. Once again she heard the cold voice of the man and she shivered. his voice feared her enough not to mention his appearance. Then she remembered Alice and Raven. Softly she stood on her tiptoes again trying to reach his ear. "Can I see your hand? I really don't want to stop speaking to you, but I fear Miss Alice may like to leave. I remember my father using his powder to speak with his friends while he hid me in isolation form the world," she whispered her voice chimming like a tiny bell. Mjrn looked to him and hoped he would hold out his hand so she could rub some of her powder onto his hand. It would work as a sort of tracking device. Then she remembered he did get a bit of it on his hands and it should work if his master decided to pull him away now. The fairyfly just wanted to be certain she could find him again. Her brown eyes looked into his golden ones a smile on her face. Then she looked at Miss Alice, and Mjrn really did not want to disappoint her first master. |
Suki once more put her head down on her knees as the man walked to another slaves trader. This slave she knew to be very rebellious since whenever Suki would do something rong to where her master did not want her they would take her back and she would be disciplined she would see the girl. She didn't know much about the girl but at the moment she did not care.

A hint of humor glinted in Lucien’s eyes. The woman in the cage before him, though stripped of her freedom and bound, still had some fire in her. She seemed to be making fun of some of the other slaves, who only wanted to sell themselves so that they could get out. Yet—she did not seem to want to be bought at all. It was like she wanted to stay in there. Perhaps, he thought, she thinks that it was better to be in there than to be owned. There was a flaw in thinking that way, however, as there were some benevolent masters who treated their slaves with such care that it sickened him. Lucien’s stoic expression remained on his face as she spoke.
He shook his head. “I am not one who is looking for something to ‘kick around’. Weaklings do not interest me. I am not here to buy a mindless, feeble person to do my bidding and kiss the ground I stand upon. I am here to find a slave, one which is in decent health and actually has a head on their shoulders.” Motioning toward the merchant, he told him that he wished to examine the woman in the cage. He was not going to purchase a slave without evaluating their condition! That would be foolish. The man opened her cage and let him in. He started to drag her to her feet, but Lucien shook his head. “I can deal with it from here,” he said in his usual, cold tone. The man glanced up at him and nodded, muttering something under his breath. Lucien used his powers to form chains of darkness around her body that levered her up slowly from the ground. He examined her like he would if he was looking at an animal. His hands trailed over her arms, making sure that they were not lacking in muscle. Satisfied with that, his right hand gripped her jaw, prying it open so that he could look at her teeth. They didn’t seem to be rotten. “Hm…you don’t seem to be in bad shape, though you look to have been beaten…many times” He looked at her expression and chuckled. He let go of her jaw, knowing that she might bite him. She was a feisty little thing, full of energy and spirit. He would love breaking her… “I’ll take this one.” |
Darcie grew a bit more interested at his speech. Someone who did want want an average Slave. How rare. The merchant opened her cage and allowed the man in. The merchant walked over to her, though Darcie planned to give him a hard time, the man stopped him. The merchant walked out. Leaving her with the man. He started to mutter something. Darcie watched him carefully, though she was not sure what he was up to. Her hands and feet were suddenly harshly lifted from the ground. They hurt rubbing against her tender flesh, though she stayed strong. He started to examine her. Though not as usual masters would. He was treating her like an animal. Darcie felt him run his cold fingers down her arm. It sent chills down her spine. Freezing her entire being for those few seconds. Darcie did not know what to make of him just yet. How was one supposed to act when someone was examining you? Snapping out of her trance, she pulled away from him, only to be snapped back by the chains. He came around to her front, a cold exterior stared her down as he reached out, opening her mouth. Darcie pulled away from his touch. She hissed at him, "You do not touch me as such!" He seemed to ignore her cries though, going on with his examination. Darcie glared at him. Keeping her eyes small and narrow while looking him dead in the eyes. He finally spoke to her, not what she was expecting from him. Mentioning her scars and bruises. Even the ones from today would not be healed up quiet yet. As the man turned, Darcie started to pull on the restraints again. They were very strong, but that did not mean she would just give up. His voice with those words split through the air. Making her stop and stare at him. The merchant came into her cell, taking off the chain around her neck. Putting a slave collar around her neck. It was metal with a chain leach. One that could be held to assure she did not run. Darcie stopped fighting the restraints all together. Her breath heavy as she tired herself out completely. Even after a second of rest, she would pull again. Never seeming to learn her lesson. ((edited ^_^ )) |
Again Raven couldn't help but close his eyes once more in pleasure as his wing feathers were lightly stroked once more. If he had the ability or where he a bird he would probably have been cooing, but instead his lips held a smile rather than pass such sounds. His feathers remained puffed at her touch, almost reaching towards her fingers and encouraging her to continue. He opened his golden eyes again however when she once more stepped back. "You are very welcome Mjrn" he said as his gentle voice seemed to glide gracefully through the air and reach the intended fairyfly woman.
The half raven demon was a bit surprised at her request to see his hand, but listened with interest as she explained the reasoning behind it. "Of course. I would enjoy speaking with you again greatly" he said with a smile and calmly presented one of his hands to the woman. From what he had felt from the woman's hand, when she had stroked his feathers, her skin was soft and her touch gentle. He had never actually interacted with kind women much, other than his new Mistress and the ones he met now, as the only other ones were some of the children of the Nightray family. They of course had become a reason behind being in the slave market and out of the noble house to begin with. Although they were not the cause as to why he was here this time around, they had been the original one. |
Raven's voice made the girl shiver slightly... or perhaps it was the cold cave. But she felt as though his words were meant only for her. The girl was overjoyed to hear that he would like to speak with her again. Gently she reached a hand up and removed a decent amount of powder from her wings. Lightly she rubbed the powder into his hand. It seemed to sink into the fabric of his gloves. "As long as you own these gloves I can find you... or my butterflies. I'm not overly sure how it works, but I can figure it out," she muttered softly Then lightly she brushed her powdered hand across his cheek. The powder seeping into his skin. "Just for safe measure," she giggled softly her laugh somewhat infectious. The scale trick was gene from her father. Butterflies were able to locate flowers due to scales and such left on the flower. Now she would find him. "I will miss you Raven, but you will hear from me soon," she said lightly with a grin.
Lightly the girl stroked his feather's again then returned to Alice. She courtsesed lightly to the woman. "Thank Miss Alice. That was very kind of you. I hope to hold you and Dia up no longer," she said gently to her master. Feeling quite bad that she had held them up for even the slightest moment, but she felt she needed to speak with Raven. He was so kind... then she looked to Alice and smilied. |
Dia turned and looked at Mjrn, one of her black tipped ears pointed up the other off to the side. She brought her tail up wards the snowy tail making a soft swishing sound when it moved. She limped slightly as she moved over to the winged girls side, giving a final glance around, she was hit with confusion when she didnt see any other snowy tails, "Master Alice" she called over to the woman, "Why dont i see any slaves like me?" she asked looking around again. She looked at Mjrn, surely shes one of a kind but i shouldnt be her sea green eyes widened and she jumped onto the top of a cage that was lower then the rest, a sharp pain sent her crashing into one of the taller stacks of cages. "ow" she muttered.
|
Raven was rather correct about the softness he felt from the skin of Mjrn's hand when he felt it on his cheek. To him it was smooth and slightly chalky from the powder. Typically he would have felt her hand on his, but his gloves had prevented it. He had watched curiously as the powder absorbed into his glove, and then the cool yet tingly sensation as it absorbed into his skin. "I look forward to it Mjrn" he replied calmly though his voice having a slightly sensual tone. Quickly though gently he took her hand and brought the back of it to his lips, as he had been raised to uphold the traditional gentlemen mannerisms, and calmly released her hand. His golden eyes gazed after her for a few moments before he felt he should return to his Mistress's side.
Calmly and rather gracefully he returned to Hazel's side, as the fairyfly returned to her mistress's, and gave a small bow. "I apologize for the lengthy wait, I hope you may forgive me" he said quietly. He didn't rise from his bowed position as he knew it was only proper for the servant to wait for permission from their owner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alice smiled as the fairyfly returned. "It's quite alright Mjrn, you are quite free to take as much time as you'd like. There's no rush on my end as I don't have anything dire to do or place to be at, at the moment. That aside did you enjoy you're chat with the raven demon? He seemed like quite the gentleman from what I had seen" she said gently with a wink. She had seen the boy kiss her hand, though she didn't mind so long as the fairyfly didn't. The rabbit demon's attention then went to Dia as she questioned why there were no others like her with either Mjrn or herself. "That is a rather good question. I can't say I really have an answer for it other than the fact I don't typically get many companions" she said with a quiet laugh and rubbed the back of her head. Even though fox demons weren't uncommon, she just hadn't really paid much attention when she went out to get servants. The moment though that she saw Dia jump onto a lower cage and crash into a larger cage. The moment she heard the small sound of pain Alice was immediately by the fox demon's side. "Are you alright?" she asked worriedly as she quickly gestured for Mjrn to come as well in case she needed to quickly ask her to retrieve something needed. |
The little fairyfly had blushed when the boy kissed her hand. She was also quite embarrassed to hear that Alice had seen everything. "I did enjoy talking with him. Raven, is quite the gentleman. He also didn't mind all my questioning," she grinned to her master. Mjrn was glad that Alice was not unhappy after waiting so long. She had noticed Dia fall and hurried quickly to Alice's side. The girl hoped that she would be alright... Dia seemed a little reckless even with her injuries.
