Long ago, it was said that the World was formed by four basic, yet powerful forms energy, the Four Elements. Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

Earth had built the foundation of the World, raising mountains and hills, carving in canyons and valleys. Water flows in, filling up the marks and scars Earth had left behind, forming bodies of water, such as oceans and lakes. Fire heats up the World, making it possible for life, and became the source of energy for all living things. Air keeps everything in place, maintaining the balance of the other three Elements, while producing the breathe of life to the inhabitants.

Right after the World, the first groups of the Human race was created. Along with the beasts of the wild, they inhabited the world. One group of Humans, however, were different from the others. They had the power to manipulate the Four Elements. Called Benders, these people harness great power - the actual energies from the Elements themselves. By using this gift, they make balance to the World. It was their job to protect and nurture the lands, and to pass on their teachings, so many generations after them can maintain stability.

As thousands of years pass, though, the minds of men became corrupted. Power and Greed became their drive. Thus, the job of protecting and nurturing the lands

on Earth was replaced by seizing and controlling. The gifts of life was turned into the weapons of war. Benders killed each other, in order to gain power and money. A giant war broke out, lasting for many years. Because of the war, the Earth began to crumble and break. Volcanoes were formed, fissures were made. Water flooded and drowned cities, and tornadows ripped up the ground. Droughts sweapt the world like a plague.

Finally, two Benders from each of the Elements came forth. And with their powera, they tapped into the very source of all the Benders - and stripped them away. Instantly, the war ended. But it was too late, the damage was too great. However, the ex-benders and the other humans then banded together, to recreate their society.

A law was then made. Since the Earth cannot live if the existence of the Benders disappear, they decided to keep on teaching their ways, so the next Generation can survive. However, only eight students are allowed to become Benders at a time. Two students for each Element, all of them will spend their lives perfecting their techniques, in order to save the world if this were to happen again

And so, the law created, the Earth once more became stable and peaceful. Another thousand year has past, and it is now the year of 2010.

Lurking in the darkness, however, someone had discovered a fifth Element, stronger than the other Four - and he plans to threaten the world with its power.

~PLoT~

The setting is set to modern day America.

The 8 Benders of this generation are sent to live in New York, where they can blend in with other High School students attending at Hallen High, as they observe the city for any suspicious disturbances. It was said that a shockwave of ancient energy had swept across the Earth, unnoticed by regular humans, but it had unnerved the Elder Benders. So they had placed their descendants at the source, hoping that the youngsters can discover what it is.

Basically, the 8 Benders are teenage high schoolers sent to attend Hallen High School in New York City, as they poke around for any unusual signs.

While they were investigating, they realized that this was their chance to actually live a normal life, even if it was only for awhile. So they used it to their advantage, and in a couple of months, they immidiately blended in with the other kids, and in no time, became pretty well-known throughout the school.

However, as the 8 friends enjoy their new, temporarily lives, someone else had been searching around the city. And to their misfortune, he had discovered the source of the shockwave: an anctient relic which contains the secret to a new Element. And he plans on using it to destroy the Benders, so he can reshape the World into his own.
