Shaun opened another beer. "Hey, I'm only as good as the soldiers I lead into battle." He raises the can to Ava.

She sat up again, crossing her legs and pulling a small pistol out of its pouch. She constantly forgot to take it off. She had even fallen asleep with it before. "Alright, I get it. I am awesome" She said giving him a smirk.

Shaun took a drink. "Ava, do you ever wonder what you would do if there was no war?"
|
She thought for a second. "I have always thought about that. Maybe open a shop. Get married. Something along those lines.... How about you Shaun?" Ava liked to say him name. It was a rare chance she got since they had to be very formal in front of everyone else.

Shaun placed his hand on his chin. "Well Ava, I always wanted to be a cook. Maybe even open up my own resturant."

A shop and restruant crossed her mind. She glanced at Shaun. Naw, that would never work out She thought to herself. "A cook seems random for you."

Shaun looked at Ava. "Cooking was one of the hobbies I had growing up. I always kind of wanted a family myself. Just to give a child a life that I never had." He said with a smile.

Ava looked up at him right away. "That's my thinking on it! I want to spoil the little guy or girl" She said with a smile.

"It's good to know that we think alike" Shaun said with a chuckle.

Ava smiled. "You say that a lot Shaun"

"Maybe because it's true" Shaun says with a smile. He leans forward, and he and Ava lock eyes.

Ava was about to speak again, looking up she saw his eyes. Staring right back at her. She quickly brought her hand up and patted her hand down. Thinking maybe something was on her face. Why else would he be staring her her. "Are you alright Sir?" Ava asked him, starting to make a move to get up.

Without giving it a second thought, Shaun gave Ava a quik kiss on the lips.

Ava's eyes widened as he kissed her. She did close them, enjoying the feeling of him. When he pulled away, she smiled. "You must be drunk Shaun" Ava said in nothing louder than a whisper.

"Yeah, I'm feeling a little bit of a buzz. I' sorry if what Idid was inapropriate."

"Don't be sorry. Who says I didn't like it" Ava said sitting back down on her bed.

Shaun got up and sat next to Ava. "You don't mind if I spend the night do you?"

"I do not mind. Finding me buzzed is one thing. But they will surely have your head" Ava laughed getting up to grab an extra pillow for him.

Shaun smiled. "I'm too high in rank. Besides, what they don't know won't hurt them."

"That is true" She said sitting back down next to him.

Shaun laid down on one side of the bed. "This is the first time I've fet relaxed in what seems like forever" he said.

"I know. I can tell." She told him, still sitting up. But she turned to look at him. "Your eyes are very calm right now. Not like the usual wariness."
|
A smile came over his face. "That's because for once I don't have to think about mechs, empire, battle, or any of hat stuff." He reached over and punt his hand on Ava's.

Ava moved her hand to entwine their fingers together. "What are you thinking about then?" She asked him laying down to his right side.
