The Apollo Inn

As you turn a quiet corner, you spot a three story wood-frame building with a small sign over the blue door. The sign features a swirling dragon and a young man/woman beneath it. In a hand-lettered script beneath the image the words “The The Apollo Inn” are emblazoned.

You push open the heavy door and walk into a room warmed by a large fireplace. Tables and chairs are scattered across the room with no pattern apparent. A tall woman approaches you with a glass full of your favorite beverage.

“Hello and welcome to the Inn. My name is Artemis and my brother and I own this establishment.”

She gestures to a table next you and you both at the table.

“We opened this place so that creatures of every race and type could come together peacefully and enjoy a quiet drink and some conversation.”

She stands from the table and leaves you with your drink.

“Enjoy your stay at the Inn.”

She sweeps away from the table, attending to another customer.

You look to the bar and see a small sign posted there...

Artemis wiped down the oaken table with a bar cloth. She looked around the Inn and noticed how terribly quiet it was.
"Lonely night," she mumbled to no one in particular.
Artemis crossed the room and walked behind the bar. She poured herself a scotch and sat down to sip the thirty-year-old whiskey.

The door of the Inn was pushed open slowly. Almost as if the person opening the door was rather uncertain about entering. A hooded head peeked in once the door was open enough. Looking this way and that. The place was empty, it seemed. A light sigh passed over pale lips and a figure entered. Closing the door behind it. The figure seemed obviously female, with long silver hair in a braid down it's back, knee high boots and a short black dress covered only by a black cloak.

Reddish brown eyes gazed about, a staff held in...her...right hand, a glowing, pulsating psion crystal at it's top...She...approached the bar, small female frame sliding easily onto one of the barstools and eyes looking to the bar tender. Lips parted and a soft voice that sounded as if it could be both male and female spouted forth in a gentle whisper. "A shot of something strong...Very strong."

*the door opened, but if you were looking for the average eye level of an adult....you wouldnt see anyone, in fact, youd have to look down. He dashed across the room to the silver haired....female.... pointing at her* DER YOU IS!!! You's supposed to be teaching meh not running away from meh.

Kry 01-09-2010 04:37 AM

Lark was still waiting for the bartender to bring over a shot of something very strong, when the door opened. Before that lithe frame could finish turning to see who, or what, had entered the small boy was already standing there.

"Ah.." Reddish brown eyes narrowed and hardened a bit. "..Told you to stop following me." Delicate nose wrinkled slightly in disdain and a frown made itself present on those pale lips. "I'm not your teacher, nor do I want to be your teacher." Anger laced that voice, but it was still a soft voice.

sadithealchemist 01-09-2010 04:41 AM

Dat wasn't deh deal and you know it.... my famiry did somefin for you.... now you has teh teach meh *nodnodnods, closing his purple eyes and grinning*

Kry 01-09-2010 04:44 AM

That frame turned back towards the bar, no longer facing the child. Elbows were placed on the bartop and delicate chin was cradled in both hands as those reddish eyes stared at the rows and rows of bottles behind the bar. For a moment it seemed as if the child was being ignored..Lips parted slightly and that voice escaped. "They tricked me."

Someone was there. Someone that wasn't before. A man sitting at a table in the far corner of the room; the only one in the entire establishment besides those who just entered and the innkeep, as far as anyone could tell. Everything about the man radiates malice and uneasy feelings; from his slumped posture to his black-drenched clothing, yellow sunglasses and snow-white hair. Even a quick glance revealed that he did not belong here, nor did he belong anywhere. He was reading a piece of parchment over, his face shrouded by the darkness of the particular corner; perhaps maybe why he picked it. The man puts the parchment down and leans back in his chair, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, his foot tapping softly and quickly--a sign of anticipation or nervousness, to be sure.

sadithealchemist 01-09-2010 04:48 AM

Yeah der good at dat *he giggled and struggled to climb up onto the barstool, being too short*

Kry 01-09-2010 04:56 AM

That figure turned again, this time to look at the man that wasn't there before. The Necromancer stood. Having made a rather sudden and rash decision about the boy that continued to follow and pester. Tongue moved to lightly wet those pale lips, and then a hand reached out, grabbing the small boy by the back of his shirt collar and picking him up. Hard heels of those knee high boots clicked almost softly as the Necromancer walked, moving towards the man. The man who seemed to be nervous.

The boy was held out towards the man. "Here..want this? He'll make a good slave, and if not for a slave, you could probably sell him to someone else that'd want a slave." As earlier that soft voice was laced with anger, and a hint of annoyance. Feminine face turned up just slightly. "I'll give him to ya for free."

sadithealchemist 01-09-2010 05:00 AM

HEY!!!! IM NOT FOR SALE!!!! *Bops the very mean necromancer on the nose with his tiny fists* if you break dah deal, mah famiry will undo what they did for yous!!!! *DUNDUNDUN!!!..... i have no idea what that means yet*

Sugiza 01-09-2010 05:03 AM

The man pushes back his chair, standing up without a sound, pushing his sunglasses up with the palm of his hand. "No. Not a chance." He answers bluntly, his voice strong and clear; though he speaks slowly, as if the language of the land wasn't his first. "Can't have him slowing me down." He answers, walking slowly around from the table, his own boots making a thump sound on the wooden floors with each step. "And chances are, I would just kill the little thing anyways." He pauses for a moment, thinking to himself quietly, before he reaches into his jacket. Thinking better of it, he withdraws his empty hand and pushes his sunglasses up once more; a habit of his. "Listen, you can help me in other ways." He walks around the woman, looking her over. "I'm looking for a girl. Long, blonde hair, often dresses in white and blue. Named Millia. You seen her 'round here?" He says, pausing to adjust his jacket. "I got a tip she was somewhere around here, see, and I have some unfinished business with her."

Kry 01-09-2010 05:14 AM

Delicate shoulders shrugged a bit when the man spoke. "Doesn't make a difference to me. Kill him now if ya want." A brow was arched delicately and that nose wrinkled slightly as the boy hit it. It didn't hurt much..he was a tiny boy. Small and curvy frame tensed some when the man walked a circle around..her. Voice got stuck for a moment in that pale throat. "Ah..I haven't seen anyone of that description..but..I've only just arrived a while ago." White teeth bit down gently on that pale bottom lip and that hand released the boy, dropping him on the floor. In that other hand, gripped tightly was that long staff, the psion crystal at it's head forever pulsating lightly. This man made the Necromancer nervous.

][White and blue..long blonde hair and named Millia. Sounds like a character from Guilty Gear. heh.][

sadithealchemist 01-09-2010 05:18 AM

*valick fell on his butt, grumbling something about an ungratefull moocher* If it werent for mah daddys money....youd have been dead three towns back!!! *pouts cutely*

Sugiza 01-09-2010 05:23 AM

[[Cough cough, well you see, I make up things as I go along. And I just HAPPEN to have a background of Millia Rage on my computer right now, so...cough cough. Let's pretend this character is completely unrelated and it's only a coincidence.]]

"Sigh. Another lead dead." The man pushed his glasses up again and walked calmly back to his seat, sitting down. He observes the girl tensing up and laughs--a laugh that seems devoid of emotion. A hollow and empty sound, as if the man himself didn't exist. "Come now. There's no need to be worried. You haven't done anything to me, so you don't need to fear for your life." He says, a certain amount of malice in those last words and in the next sentence that follows. "Let us keep it that way, hmm?" He puts his boots up on the table and folds his arms, putting his head down, getting into a position to doze off. "And I still don't want the brat. Don't wanna kill 'im either, he ain't done nothing to me. I was never good with kids. Still ain't. For some reason, they just tend to run away in fright whenever I'm around. Well, the smart ones do, the dumb ones tend to ask me questions and annoy me. Worthless, they'll become useless later in life. The smart ones've got a long time ahead of them." He says, all in a slow and clear voice; half-tempted to start speaking in his native tongue to the girl and the kid to scare them.

Kry 01-09-2010 05:35 AM

Eyes narrowed at Valick Crescent as he grumbled, and a booted foot moved to nudge him. "Hush, brat." That voice hissed the words at him. Reddish gaze quickly turning back to the man, body relaxing a bit when he returned to his seat. Pale lips quirking up into a smile at his words. "Aa..but it's not my life I was fearing for...Just my body.." Though there was a hint of uncertainty in that voice, as if the Necromancer couldn't really decide if she should be afraid or not.

Nose wrinkled in disgust. "All kids are dumb. They don't know anything about anything and they won't listen to ya." A glare was directed to Val for a moment and then..Then that lithe female frame slid into another chair at his table, directly across the table from him. Those eyes met only the booted feet that had been propped up. Those lips quirking up in another smile. "Where ya from, stranger?" To..her..ears it sounded like this wasn't his natural language and that made the Necromancer curious.

][Hahaha..it was just the first thing I thought of when I read that description. It's okay thoug.][

Sugiza 01-09-2010 05:45 AM

"Just your body? Well, I won't rape you either, if that's what you are thinking about." He says, his folded arms resting in his lap as he speaks, apparently faking no interest in the conversation. "Sensual satisfaction isn't on the menu for me right now." He says, his pale skin almost luminescent in the little light that hits him. He lifts his head when the necromancer asks about him, and he puts his feet down under the table but keeps his posture slumped and arms folded. "Well, that's a hefty question you're asking, 'stranger'." He mimics her tone of voice when he spits out the word 'stranger', obviously disliking said word very much. "Would it suffice for me to say 'not of the human world', or do you wish more?" As far as one could see, he was not a very attractive man; a slender face and bony cheeks, though it is nearly impossible to tell his age due to how much of his face is obscured at all times.

Kry 01-09-2010 05:55 AM

An admittace of no intentions to rape..caused those lips to pout. Though the Necromancer was a bit relieved..More or less. Perhaps this man wasn't hungry for..her..body because he knew the Necromancer was pretending? Well, not exactly pretending. For a moment that brow furrowed in thought, and then all attention was back on the man as Lark fought down the sudden urge to try and seduce him. It would most likely end badly for the Necromancer anyway. A slight cringe at the way he spoke the word 'stranger' when mimicking Lark's own words, but the Necromancer smiled sweetly at him, curiousity flashing in those reddish hues when the man spoke of not being from the human world. "Aa..if not from the human world, then which world? Certainly you're not dead, I would've known that...A demon, maybe?" Lark couldn't keep the hint of excitement from..her..voice.

Sugiza 01-09-2010 06:02 AM

"Well. I am dead in a sense, but not the one you are thinking of." He says to the necromancer, not liking how easily he trusted this person. Perhaps it was because he saw something more to her than meets the eye, or perhaps it was from being alone so long, but he found it easy to talk to the...girl. "No. Not exactly a daemon either. I'm more human than some others of my kind, but I'm not human." He says, standing up and sighing, beginning to pace slowly, his hands clasped behind his back. "Sigh. I know I'll get in deep shit for this, but I might as well tell you. After all, everyone has their secrets, and I bet you have some too." He says, turning to face the...woman. "Do you know what shapeshifters are? If so, well...there's your answer, girl. The name's Mikhail Lenimov...I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard of me before, but if so, it's only been negative."

Kry 01-09-2010 06:12 AM

Dead in a sense? Lark shrugged that off, watching him carefully as he answered...her...questions. The Necromancer hadn't really expected him to answer so truthfully, at least, Lark assumed it was the truth. From the way the man was pacing and what he said about getting into trouble for divulging such information....Everyone has their secrets..Lark had nodded slightly at that line. Reddish eyes widened slightly. A shapeshifter. Lips quirked up in a slight smile. "I haven't heard of you...Mikhail...but I've seen a few shapeshifters, not many, though." Nose wrinkled slightly, he had told his name and now Lark had to reveal...her...own, it was only fair. Head tilted to the side a bit. "My name is Sylvar NightinGale, but I'd like it if you called me Lark."

Sugiza 01-09-2010 06:21 AM

Mikhail nods and sits back in his chair, done pacing. "Well, you already know what I'm here for and what I am. So I think it's your turn to spill." He says, pushing his glasses up once more; quite the habit, one would observe--even more odd how he does it with the palm of his hand and not his fingers. His eyes being never once visible since the necromancer saw him. "You can start by telling me why you're keeping that little...thing around you. Also, I wouldn't mind knowing why you're here and what goal you have in mind for the future. And anything else." He runs his hand through his hair and folds his arms once more, his foot tapping again. "I promise to return the favor in kind if you tell me. But I'd like to know. After all, you never know when such information can work in your benefit, and the sharing would be mutual." He pushes his glasses up yet again as they keep sliding down a little bit; and he seemingly wishes to keep his eyes hidden for some reason.

Kry 01-09-2010 06:33 AM

That staff that was almost constantly in one hand or the other had now been laid across Lark's lap, though one hand still gripped it a bit tightly. Frowning for a moment and looking down with a furrowed brow, as if contemplating something. Then those eyes were on Mikhail, lips parted slightly and slender shoulders rose and fell in a shrug. Wait..was he referring to Valick as 'that little thing'? Probably, booted foot nudged the small boy that had apparently fallen asleep beneath their table.

"His family tricked me into taking him as an apprentice, I'm only here cause I was trying to hide from him..." Lips fell into another frown. Reluctant to divulge too much information, no matter how beneficial it may be later on. Then those eyes brightened and a smile had replaced the frown. "Ah. Goal for the future? Well..World domination of course, love." The sad thing, Lark was completely serious about that one. The Necromancer was, with difficulty, suppressing the urge to jump across the table and snatch those glasses from Mikhail's face. Mostly to see how he would react and partly to see why he kept his eyes hidden.

Sugiza 01-09-2010 06:41 AM

"His family tricked you? Well, why not just kill the bugger and move on with your life?" He says, pushing up his glasses again, a small grin creeping across his face; which disappears instantly when she says the sentence about world domination. He flinches noticeably when the...girl calls him 'love', but otherwise remains calm. "You certainly have your hopes high, 'Lark'. I wish you luck with your goal, no matter how impossible it seems to be." His face breaks into a small smile again as he looks up to the ceiling. "Well, you know why I'm here...but as for my goal, only wanton slaughter of those who have wronged me in the past interests me now. That's why I'm looking for this girl, 'Millia'. To kill her." He puts it quite bluntly, not having to push up his glasses while looking upward. "Morbid goal, I know, but I am a morbid guy." He gives a small laugh, yawning slightly. "Ugh, it's been awhile since I slept." he looks down back at the necromancer, his eyebrow raised. "So, is that all you're going to tell me? Because if so, that's all you'll get as well."

Kry 01-09-2010 06:50 AM

"I can't kill him..He's just a child..That's why I was trying to give him to you...so's you could do the dirty work for me..I mean..ya look like a very shady kindof guy." Shoulders rose and fell in another shrug. An arm was brought up to the table, elbow resting on it and then that chin was resting in the palm of a hand, head turned to the side a bit and those reddish eyes were looking over the empty Inn. "There isn't really anything else to tell...." Then, added almost as if in afterthought. "I'm a Necromancer.....and.." That soft voice trailed off for a moment and then picked back up just a little. "And..if I tell you any more you'll get disgusted and run away, or kill me, or try to beat me to death.."
