"I don't know.... Maybe you can remember what that thing on your face is?" Tear suggested, twisting open the cap and taking a drink.

She put the cap back on quickly when she remembered that he had been bleeding there. That needed to be addressed for sure. She hadn't heard his stomach growl, and it wouldn't quite occur to her for the spirit to be hungry. As she approached she glanced down at him and noticed again the hole. That's it, something really wasn't right here. Only the bad spirits had holes and things on their faces. But this kid was sane and possibly more powerful when he wasn't a child, so what did that mean?

"Hey, how about we clean up your face while I'm thinking of it?" she asked.

Silver Crusnik 01-09-2010 04:13 AM

Grimmjow had completely forgotten about his face, but now that he'd been reminded, and while it wasn't bleeding anymore, it did hurt, more now than before.

He reached up, putting a hand on his face and whining "ouch" afterwards...then tracing the broken fragments of whatever was clinging to his face.

"Nnn..."

He didn't really know what to make of it either...

Lios Alfar 01-09-2010 06:21 AM

"Hmm. Hopefully you'll remember more as time goes on," Tear replied, visually inspecting the thing again. "Don't touch it too much if it hurts. Come on, let's clean the blood off your face. I promise I'll be gentle."

She felt really bad for the poor kid when it came down to it. Whatever had caused the bleeding seemed to have caused more than just a flesh wound. She hoped that she was doing the right thing by taking Grimmjow in. While he was pondering the pain in his face, Tear headed for the kitchen and some paper towels and water. Absently she wondered what spirits ate. Did they even get hungry?

"We can worry about figuring things out later, I suppose. Let's just take care of one thing at a time," she decided, looking back to see if he was following.

Silver Crusnik 01-11-2010 04:29 AM

"I'll try," Grimmjow offered in promise. He then stood curiously, unsure if he should move at first. He felt as if this was a place where he really had no place, and that he should wait for prompts from the woman. After all, he was nothing but a kid.

"Um..."

When he was looked at, however, he got the idea that perhaps she expected him to follow. So he did, tentatively walking into the kitchen after her, his face still smarting since he had been reminded and simply could not forget.

Lios Alfar 01-11-2010 02:23 PM

Tear grabbed some paper towels and ran them under warm water from the sink. She really would try and keep her promise to be gentle. She knelt down to be on the same level as Grimmjow. One she used to wipe the snot away from under his nose, as it was a much less sensitive area. After that was taken care of she moved on to the weird jawbone-like thing on his face which was where a lot of the bleeding seemed to be coming from.

She wiped around the white object first, as gentle as promised. That was as gentle as she could be while still getting blood off, of course.

"You're doing fine, Grimmjow. I'm almost done now," she assured him, pulling back a little to look at him as she spoke.

He was a cute kid underneath all of the grime now that she got a good look at him. After she finished speaking she moved to clean the object itself. It definitely looked like a jawbone, but it had been severely damaged somehow. Up close it looked even more like the masks worn by evil spirits. She realized that she was going to have to keep the boy close by. With his spiritual pressure any evil things that appeared would head straight for him, and Tear didn't know if he had the capacity to adequately protect himself.

While she was pondering she finished cleaning up the jawbone, leaving Grimmjow's face as clean as ever.

"All done," she announced, standing to throw away the used paper towels. "That wasn't so bad, was it?"

Silver Crusnik 01-13-2010 04:41 AM

Grimmjow had spent a fair amount of the time flinching, but for the most part, he was a trooper with the pain. There was a few scratches, but there was only one really bad one--a deep cut that slashed sharply down from the upper part of where the mask was broken and down an inch. He didn't realize he was really under inspection, only that he felt uncomfortable and empty.

"So, uh...how come you can see me?" he asked.

Lios Alfar 01-13-2010 04:53 AM

Tear blinked, not expecting that question. Well, at least it would save her having to explain to him that he was dead, or so she hoped. She didn't think that she could really stitch the deep cut. It would need a bandage to make sure that it didn't open and bleed all over him. She badly wanted to ask how he knew enough to ask that question, but it was best not to overload the poor kid.

"Hm? You know, Grimmjow, that's a good question. I've always been able to see spirits like you. Some were good, some bad. But I could see them all and fight them, too. I don't know why, and I wish I did sometimes. Here, follow me and I'll get a bandage for that one cut on your face, all right?" she asked standing and starting down the hall towards the small bathroom. "Did that answer your question or do you have more?"

Silver Crusnik 01-15-2010 05:01 AM

Really, Grimmjow didn't know he was dead. He didn't even know he was a spirit, just that no one else had been able to see him when he'd been a child, or else they had to definitely be ignoring him. Like hardcore ignore.

"Ohh...okay then. Naw, I ain't got any more questions for now..."

In truth, he did. But he didn't know how to ask them, really...or whether he even should.

Lios Alfar 01-15-2010 06:33 AM

"All right then. If you think of anything else go ahead and ask. It won't hurt anything," Tear said with a shrug "Hold still just a second, I'm going to bandage up this bad cut, all right? This shouldn't hurt."

She opened one of the bathroom cabinets, pulling out a couple of small butterfly bandages. She took all of the excess packaging off of it and knelt down to Grimmjow's level. Slowly but carefully she applied the little bandages to the large cut near his mask, one bandage on the top and one on the bottom of the wound. That should hold him, in her opinion. It was the best she could do without real stitches.

"All done! That should take care of your cuts for now," she told him. "Now I'm hungry. What about you?"

Truth be told she still didn't know if spirits ate. None had ever mentioned it to her, but then again this kid was a class of his own. She had never seen a spirit quite like him, so if he was different from the generic lost soul then it was definitely possible.

Silver Crusnik 01-16-2010 04:13 AM

Grimmjow didn't know what hose were, and he also didn't know what hungry meant. All he knew was that he was starting to feel lethargic and he wanted something to put in his mouth...or something.

"What's hungry?" he asked plainly.

Lios Alfar 01-16-2010 04:21 AM

Tear was at a loss for words for a moment there. The kid didn't know what hungry was? Well that was an interesting addition to things. To be fair she had told him to ask anything he thought of. She started for the kitchen again, motioning for Grimmjow to follow.

"Well... Hungry is when you want to eat something. Your stomach grumbles and it doesn't feel very good," she replied, glancing down at his stomach.

It made her wonder if he even had a stomach. He had a freakin' hole where it should be. Again, it was like those bad spirits.... What was he?

Silver Crusnik 01-16-2010 04:29 AM

Grimmjow glanced down as well. Well, he didn't feel very well, and his insides had made noise...but his mind told him a stomach was supposed to be where that huge hole was. So...what would happen if he ate?

"Nn...well I think I am hungry. Whatever...but, uh...I have a hole here."

Lios Alfar 01-16-2010 04:36 AM

"So I noticed... Well, how about you eat and we see what happens? If you can feel hungry then you have to be able to eat somehow," Tear told Grimmjow.

She opened the fridge to see what was left over and decided on leftover pizza. It was quick, easy, and pretty tasty. She took a few pieces out of the box and set them on a plate which went into the microwave. Soon the pizza was heating up and smelling pretty darn good.

"We'll have pizza, if that's okay with you. Although really, you probably don't know what that is. I'm tired of sushi lately," she said.

Silver Crusnik 01-18-2010 12:31 AM

Grimmjow was almost immediately salivating at the scent of the heating food. He definitely wanted to shove whatever it was in his mouth; definitely, he had an idea of how to eat. He had an idea of how to do most basic things, really. There were just some things that were not so simple for him to comprehend.

"Whatever it is, it smells good," he commented, standing on his toes to peer at the microwave.

Lios Alfar 01-18-2010 12:43 AM

Tear actually smiled at Grimmjow's enthusiasm. The microwave finished shortly and beeped to announce that hot, delicious food was ready. She took out the pieces of pizza and put them on two separate plates before setting one on the table for Grimmjow. Hopefully a full stomach -or whatever he had there- would help him to think better.

"Careful, it's hot," she told him, waving the steam away from her food. "It's pepperoni and cheese, but I doubt you know what that is. Trust me that it's good, though."

Silver Crusnik 01-19-2010 05:02 AM

Grimmjow didn't know, and he honestly didn't care. All he knew was it smelled good and he wanted it in him. End of story. Heading for the table, he pulled the seat out awkwardly, then sat with his legs folded beneath him and stared at the pizza for a short moment. He looked over at Tear, then mimicked her movement, figuring she had to have something going on there, and as far as he felt, hot felt bad. Like it might hurt if it got in his mouth.

Lios Alfar 01-19-2010 05:54 AM

Tear sat across from Grimmjow, watching him mimic her. Luckily the pizza hadn't overheated that much and it cooled quickly. She picked it up and took a bite out of it, figuring that Grimmjow would see her and do the same. It was delicious pizza, too. She waited for him to take a bite of his own before she said anything.

"Do you like it?" she asked "Eat up, I have more if you want it."

Silver Crusnik 01-21-2010 04:11 AM

Grimmjow indeed parroted her, as she'd expected, and came to the conclusion that it was the most unmentionably AWESOME thing he'd ever put into his mouth! Words didn't describe it, and he immediately began inhaling the slice, far faster than was safe to do, not that the cared or realized that he could choke. He was hungry, achingly so, and this only exemplified the point.

So busied was he, that he didn't once consider the thought of speaking.

Lios Alfar 01-21-2010 04:15 AM

Tear watched with one eyebrow raised as this kid almost literally inhaled his food. She really hoped that she wasn't going to have to save a spirit from choking. Could spirits choke to death? She had only taken two bites by the time Grimmjow had nearly downed his whole piece.

"Hey, Grimmjow, slow down there. The food won't vanish if you do, but you'll choke if you keep that up," she warned before turning back to her own pizza to finish it off.

Silver Crusnik 01-21-2010 04:29 AM

"It's good," he said, as if that should explain everything. "I want more."

He didn't mince words, not when he was still hungry. While he waited for a response, he spread his fingers out and licked the crumbs and grease off of them, his pink tongue flicking out adorably. The whole picture was a shade animalistic, actually...

Lios Alfar 01-21-2010 04:38 AM

"Okay, that's fine," Tear replied, taking his plate and getting up from her pizza to go heat up more.

He was damn hungry for someone his size. Really, who knew a spirit kid could eat so much? She popped three more pieces into the microwave to be safe. This time around she heated them for a little less time. It was a win-win. On one hand Grimmjow got his food faster, on the other it would be cooler to boot. Once they were warm enough to eat she took them out and set it in front of Grimmjow. She wanted to ask if he ate like this all the time, but she knew he probably wouldn't know.

"I'm glad you like it, then," she said, sitting back down at her own place. "They're cooler this time, so it shouldn't burn your mouth."

Silver Crusnik 01-29-2010 05:05 AM

Grimmjow was twice as fast this time with more food presented to him, and cleaned the plate in almost the same amount of time as it had taken him with the first pizza slice, an alarming thing if you thought about it really. His hunger was frightening....

All the same, he was a small fellow, and seemed satisfied by the three slices, and grinned happil.

"It's good!" he declared.

Lios Alfar 01-29-2010 05:16 AM

"Are you done, or do you still want more?" Tear asked in mild fascination.

This kid was hungry. It was a little frightening, especially considering his size and the fact that she hadn't been aware until today of the fact that spirits even ate. Was this normal? She finished off her pizza in silence, wondering what exactly she had brought into her house. The very thought made her feel more tired than she already was. What was this going to mean for her, taking in Grimmjow, who was apparently an amnesiac?

Silver Crusnik 02-14-2010 04:23 AM

Grimmjow nodded.

"Yeah-huh. I'm done," he said. "Thank you."

It felt weird saying it, but he felt like perhaps it was the right thing to say. So of course he followed his instinct. This lady was nice enough to take care of him, after all...

Lios Alfar 02-14-2010 04:29 AM

Tear was finishing up her own pizza as Grimmjow answered her. The tired feeling from a moment ago hadn't gone away and it was all she could do to stifle a yawn. It had been a long day, and finding Grimmjow had only taken more out of her. But she felt like she needed to take care of him all the same, which was why she was bothering to feed him and make him feel at home.

"You're welcome," she replied, surprised by his thank you. "Say, do you sleep? Like, are you tired?"
