((Mhm))
Drake smiles and opens the fridge, "Hmmmm I think this is ground beef." He pulls out something that looked like red waves, "Right?" |
She took the package from him to confirm, nodding. "Yep! Perfect. Now we can make the patties and then cook 'em!" She carefully opened the package while asking, "May I have a cutting board?"
Drake scurries about the room "Here we are." He hands the board over to Chloe. "Anything else?"
She began to make the patties. "Alrighty, I can do it from here I think. Er... Actually... I do need one more thing. Two, actually..." She laughed quite nervously as she looked to him. "Oven mitt and tinfoil so I can put these in the broiler?"
Drake pulls own some tin foil from the cabinet and took some mitten off the hanger of the back of the door. "Here you go, Chloe."
"Thank you very much!" She proceeded from there on her own, making the patties and lining the broiler at the bottom of the stove, the mitt protecting her hand, and then closed and turned on the broiler. "Alrighty, now we wait."
"Waiting fun. What shall we do til then." Drake said laughing and smiling at the two girls.
Chloe shook her head, just smiling. "I might just wait in here and do some cleaning if its okay."
"Mommy and her housework..." Janice, rather then smiling, just laughed a bit at her mother. "Mister, lets play again! Please mister?" |
"Alright Chloe, suit yourself." Drake shrugged. "Let's go play!" Drake said talking to Janice.
Janice thought for a minute. "What game should we play? Do you have any bored games? If we play one I can make Mommy play with us when she finishes her fix of cleaning."
"Hmmmm." Drake thought, "I think we have Trouble somewhere...." He thought about where it might be and how the little girl was going to convince her mother to play with them "I think it's in the cupboard in the dinning room." Drake walked into the dining room which was adjacent to the kitchen and looked in the cabinet that was right on the outside of the kitchen. "Ah. All the board games are in here." He said in a success filled voice.
Janice ran over to him and clapped happily. "Yay! Game! Let's pick a game and play, okay, mister? Then when Mommy's done she can play too and we can all play!"
"Okay Janice Okay" Drake said playfully. He placed all the board games on the floor, among them were Trouble, Sorry, Candyland, and too many others to even mention. ((you can pick one that's not on the list if you want. xD))
It took not long for Janice to notice one particular little aspect of the games on the floor- the name of one calling out to her in particular, ringing a bell and pleading to be picked. Giggling to herself, she pointed at it simply, chiming to him, "This one! This one! It's named after food!" It was candyland, the most delicious sounding game of all that were on the ground.
((I had to do it. It's so cute <3)) |
((haha. That's fine, it is cute.))
"It's Candyland!!!" Drake said laughing, "I loved that game when I was...younger." he finished laughing. "You want me to set it up while you go and get your mom?" Drake crouched down on the floor and picked up the yummy game. |
"Can you get mommy to play? Please? I feel bad taking her from her own fun... But it would be more fun if she played too! Me set up- will mister get mommy to play with us though? Please?"
"Yea." Drake said laughing. "I'll go get her." He walked into the kitchen and looked around for Chloe once he found her he poked her lightly on her shoulder, "Want to come play a game with Janice and I?"
Normally, Chloe would have been overly startled by the gesture. However, she was actually expecting such a thing! This was an uncommon occurrence, considering usually Chloe was constantly shocked due to being about as observant as a pea was if peas could even be observant. "Hm? Oh- Sure, one minute. I want to finish this dish. It's not cleaning properly... I must get it done before I move away from it."
Drake stared at Chloe momentarily, then his eyes moved to the dish, "Alright then..." he said drawing out the alright more than needed.
"What? Is it that strange to want to finish what I started?" She laughed a bit, noting the stare. "I like cleaning, but I'm also a perfectionist. There's still spots on this thing... I want to get them all off before I'll call it done."
"It's not odd," he laughed, "It's just...i don't know..." Drake's voice faded into laughter, "Yea... well im going to go and wait with Janice in the dining room." He shrugged, "I'm in a good mood, I guess that's why I'm laughing abnormally a lot."
She fought with the dish before finishing, looking to him. "Where does this go? I think it's about as good as I can make it finally. And laughing is good, no reason to seek, well... A reason?" She laughed a bit herself, smiling simply. "Laughter is good for your health."
"I think it goes up here." Drake said pointing to an extremely high cabinet, "Here I'll put it away," he came over to Chloe and took the dish gently from her hand and went up on his toes to get high enough to put the plate on its shelf. He came back down to a regular height and spoke to Chloe. "Let's go?" He asked her as he walked behind her chair waiting for her to okay him to push her.
"Lead the way. I'll do my best to keep up." She smiled, indicating she wanted to roll herself, not wanting to feel needy. "Don't worry, I've got quick hands, so I won't actually be that slow anyway." A slight wink got into her eyes, her head leaning back to look at him more easily.
"Alrighties Let's go!" Drake said and started walking into the dining room, he opened the swinging door and held it open for Chloe, "Here you go, Milady." He smiled genuinely.
