Just a few days ago, Katara and the rest of the group had stopped in a area where they had seen traders along with soldiers attacking people and chaining them up and dragging them away. Seeing this had upset Aang and her brother. So within seconds the two them had rushed in reckless to help the people. Her and Toph then rushed over, planning on protecting the two idiots. Well more soldiers had appeared, and the four of them were unable to win, and found their selves knocked out.

When Katara had woken up she was chained up and away from the others, she was in a barely lite room and after awhile of struggling to get free she gave up. It wasn't long after that a man, the leader of the traders, showed up telling her that Aang had sold her to him, in exchange for everyone else freedom. This had enraged her and she had tried to break free and the man had just laughed at her.

That had only been day one, through out the next days, she went through horrible things. She still had her virtue, in all aspects of her body, but she had been wiped each time she didn't do what she was told. All week she her hatred at Aang and her friends got stronger. She still didn't understand, how Aang could have done that, and how neither Toph or Sokka cared enough to save her. So they never came to save her, it made her feel such hatred that was deeper than the hatred that she felt towards the fire nation.

Finally It was the night of the full moon, that was when Katara Knew she could get away, by using the last "gift" Hama had given her, though she swore to never use it, she knew using blood bending would be the one way to get out. She got the guards to let her go, and then attacked them, and eventually made her way to the leader of this slaver trading group. She then went through his stuff looking for a certain set of papers. These papers where the one stating she was sold by Aang. She would have tore them up, but she needed them for later when she found them and made them pay.

Katara emerged from the building. She was a water and blood bender from the South Water Tribe and a member of the Avatar group. Well she had been, though but today she was an slave who had just escaped from fire nation slave traders.

Katara took off running. Her body was covered in whip marks, cuts and bruises, she had crusted blood, over her body even her face. One would think she killed someone but it was all her blood. She heard the guards approaching, so she ran off into the woods knowing it would be better to hide there so she wouldn't get caught again, and safer until she could find herself some water to use for bending. She still really didn't like to use her blood bending gift. Katara ran until she found a small area to hide in, it was near an almost drained creek, but it seemed no one would be coming her way. Katara was anger, pissed, and knew she would have to make Aang and the others pay. She started to fill up a water pouch with water, while she thought.

Zuko stood outside of his tent watching the moon deep in thought. He wondered to himself how he had gotten to where he was and memories came back to him in a rush. Turning his face away from the moon he squeezed his eyes shut and wished his life was normal and didn't have so much hardships.

Opening his eyes again Zuko took in his surroundings and decided to leave the others at their camp to go for a walk. It was late and they wouldn't know he left so no one would come looking for him, giving him the peace he needed. The only person he would want near him right now would be Mai, but even then he was glad to have some alone time.

Soon after he began walking his thoughts consumed him and he walked without really knowing where he was going or how far. Zuko had put quite a distance between him and the camp when he finally snapped out of it and looked around. He was in a dense forest and had no clue where he was, or how to get back.

Fusterated with himself and at the outcome of his actions, fire came out of Zuko's hands. Not wanting to set the forest on fire Zuko calmed himself down and stopped the fire that was emerging from his hands. Deciding to just keep walking Zuko trudged on through the forest and soon came to a creek that was nearly dry.

There was a rock by the creek that was big enough to sit on and Zuko walked to it so he could take a breather for a minute and figure out what to do. Sitting down on the rock he rested his elbows on his knees and put his head in his hands, not noticing anything or anyone around himself.

Katara hide when she heard footsteps. She was surprised to see Zuko, when he sat down on the rock. The old Katara would have attacked him, before he could attack her, she would say this was her away of keeping Aang safe. Though this Katara found that she had no problem with Zuko, in fact, she found that her hatred of the avatar and his group, would have her working along side him. She laughed out loud, rather like a mad woman, she almost seemed as mad as Azula.

Zuko was in deep thought when he heard a maddening laugh that startled him. He jumped off of the rock and landed on his feet, conjuring flames in his hands. Looking around he couldn't find anyone and braced for an attack. After a few moments and no one attacked he shouted out. "Who's out there? Show yourself!" Zukko kept looking around, trying to pin point their location from any small movements or noises. From the laugh he thought the person to be female but he wasn't quite sure.

Katara stood up and laughed again. " Oh now, clam down it's just me" Katara said coming into view. Though she limped into Zuko's view, she still looked rather horrible, since she hadn't had time to heal her self or clean up since escaping. She hoped he didn't want to fight her, cause she sure as hell didn't have the strength too.

The fire slowly simmered out in Zuko's hand as he stood there in shock. "Katara? Is that really you?" he asked in utter disbelief. While she limped into view he couldn't believe his eyes as he took in her apperance, she looked like she had gone through hell and back. Looking to her eyes Zuko couldn't help but ask. "What happened to you? You have blood all over you."

" Of course it's me, what other water bender wanders around the fire nation?" Katara said. She sighed," Slave Traders, now I knew the fire Nation was suppose to be evil and all, but to find out your nation actually still uses slaves shocks me." She said. She wobbled slightly. " I hope you don't plan on fighting today, I'm simply not in the mood for it" She muttered.

Zuko let out a small laugh at Katara's reply. "That is very true. You are the only waterbender to just wander around the fire nation." Pausing Zuko looked to the ground in shame and then continued on, spitting out the next sentence like poision. "That is the one thing I hate the most about my nation." Zuko paused again this time raising his eyes to look at Katara. He looked her up and down and saw how weak she was. "Katara, I don't want to fight you everytime I'm around you and I would never attack you when you are this hurt."

" That's good to know" Katara said, before her legs gave out and she crash to the ground. She pulled her self into a sitting position. She then spoke again," I also don't want to fight you every time your around, I have no reason anymore to fight you." Katara said. She spoke the truth, the only person, well persons, she wanted to fight, and crush, was the avatar group. Aang had gone to far, and after what he did he deserved it.

Concerned for Katara, Zuko ran to her side. When he saw she was ok he backed up a little bit and sat down across from her. When she spoke he noticed she said anymore when she refered to not wanting to fight him. "Anymore? You don't have a reason to fight me anymore..Katara what happened and where are the others?" Zuko was really confused and couldn't grasp the situation so he remained silent and waited for her to reply.

When he mention the other, a dark look crossed Katara's face. She laughed rather darkly once more. " You know, aren't your wondering just how I got into the hands of slave trader's?" She shot back. She didn't want to answer his first question, yet, she wanted to wait before telling him.

Surprised at Katara's dark outburst Zuko leaned back in shock. He wanted to press the issue with her but decided to go along with her question. "Ok, tell me. How did you get caught by the slave traders?" Zuko couldn't imagine what could have happened to Katara to make her like this. He had never seen her this dark before, no matter what was happening.

Katara smiled darkly, Zuko had taken the bait. " Well so we are wandering the fire nation like, always, with the goal of a fire bender teacher, though, The Avatar and Sokka, see people being captured and chain up, and the rush in to help, causing Toph and I to join in and help. Of course we where out matched, and soon over taken, and then I was knocked out. When I awoke, I had been told I was now a slave, and my training would be begin soon. Though, when I tried to dispute this, the leader of these vile men showed me the papers, where the Avatar his self, sold me to them." Katara said. She no longer called Aang by his name, and each time she mention him or her so called friends, she said it in a very dark way, even darker from the way she spoke about what had happened. She didn't go into explaining what happened afterward. Though the whole aura and air around her seem to get very dark, and evil.

Standing up in outrage, flames shot out of Zuko's hands. He couldn't believe his ears. "Your so called friends sold you, to slave traders?" Zuko began pacing back and forth in front of Katara. "That's why you have a dark nature about you. I understand now." Once again Zuko sat down across from Katara and tried to calm down. "What are you going to do now?" Even as those words came out of his mouth Zuko knew what she was going to do next. She was going to track them down and Zuko was going to help. When she finaly voiced what she was going to do he would offer his assistence along with the others he traveled with.

" I'm going to heal, and then I will tracked them down,and make them pay for what he did to me, and them for not coming back for me." Katara told him. Zuko was really playing right into her hands, she knew by her self, she couldn't find them, but Zuko with her would be a great help. Zuko, always had a knack for finding them, so she knew he would be one person she would want on her side.

Zuko nodded at Katara and replied, "Then I offer my assistence to you. I also offer the assistence of who I am traveling with. Will help you track them down Katara." Yes, I will help Katara with this. She needs my help and the outcome will be very interesting.. Zuko thought to himself.

" Are you sure, and are you sure the will be fine with this?" Katara asked. She didn't want to end up having him agree for the others, and then she end up having to fight them.

Zuko looked into Katara's eyes. "Yes I'm sure they will be fine with it, as long as they get a piece of the other's when we find them. Now Azula may need a little bit of convincing, but in the end she'll see you joining us as an asset." Standing up Zuko walked to the little creek and cupped some water in his hands, taking a drink of it when he saw that it wasn't muddy. When his thirst was satisfied he looked back to Katara. "We should probably get going, it's a long way back to my camp. Unless you're to tired. If so we can spend the night here."

" I see" She said in thought. It seem her plan was going the way she wanted. She watched Zuko. " I am worn out, but the camp from which I just broke free from is still close. It's best we move away from here. I also was hoping to find more water then this little creek" She said.

Assessing her words Zuko agreed it was best they move from here. "Alright then let's get started. We should be able to find some water along our way." Zuko walked over to Katara and held out his hand to her.

Katara stared at his hand for a few seconds. She slowly reached out and took his hand. ' There is no going back' She thought. " That sounds like a plan" She told him.

Zuko smiled and slowly helped Katara to her feet. When she was settled he let go of her hand and turned around. "Now is the hard part, getting back. I was kind of pre occupied when I was walking and didn't pay attention to where I was going." Pausing for a moment Zuko studied the ground. When he was sure he knew where to start he looked back to Katara. "Ok come on." He turned around again and walked off slowly.

Katara rolled her eyes when he said, he didn't know the way completely. She followed after him. She ignored the pain. She kept quiet as she followed after him.

Keeping his focus on the ground and his old foot prints Zuko, at first didn't notice the complete silence. "Where do you think the Avatar and others will have gone to?"
