~Welcome~

In modern day New York everything revolves around technology. The old ways and beliefs are slowly being forgotten in the rush to be "hip" and "trendy". Among this mess are two groups. One composed of teens, the other of adults.
The goal of these two factions? To be the first to reach The Shard of G'nar. This shard is supposedly able to open a portal between the two worlds, the one of mortals and the one of what is believed to be "fairytale" beings.

The Teens
This group is made up of five members (ranging from ages 16 to 19), one for each element. Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. These five are what is left of the teen population that still believe in the old ways. They have each been gifted with one of the elements. True they may stay up with all the current electronics and things but what else would you expect from teenagers right? Their goal is to get the shard so that they can protect the last sacred place for the mythical creatures of the world.

The Adults
This group is much larger than their resistance, having hundreds of members, but they are all lead by five members who hold the greatest power (all members range from ages 20 up). They are all heads of major technology companies and have footholds in all of the world's biggest business'. Now that the mortal world has been taken over by electronics they have moved their sights onto the mythological world. That is why they desire the Shard of G'nar.

Bio: As a little girl Kazue was always fascinated by all things mythical and always wished that they were real. Her father had left when she was still a small child...maybe a few months after she was born? Her mother resented her for that, always blaming her for her father leaving. And you know little children, they need their parents to believe in them. So with what she believed was resentment from both sides of her family she became dependent on only herself. It was around the age of 5 that she discovered her abilities. And suddenly, her wildest dreams had come true, magic was possible for her now.Of course, she kept this all secret from the adults and would play with it in seclusion, honing her powers in the process. Now she's gathered a group of teenagers with abilities to fight back.

Other: Kazue normally dresses in a Visual-Kei-esque style or Gothic Lolita. She has 5 piercings in her right ear (2 cartilage) and 8 piercings in the left ear (3 cartilage). She's also proficient with a sword, long or short. As a result of her seclusion, Kazue can be quiet most of the time but that doesn't mean she's shy.

Bio: Grew up a slight outcast, he wasn't exactly as into all the technology as other kids seemed to be. When some kids wanted to play video games, he preferred to go out and play a good old game of soccer. His parents always took good care of him, but his dad left when he was 12, without any real reason. He has always lived in an average home, leading what he thought was a mostly average life. He knows he has powers to manipulate the wind and air, but has never found himself odd for it. He's extremely kind hearted, and very loyal.

Bio: Kara was born into a highly prestigious and religious family. From the day she found out she could think for herself (10 years) she turned into a huge rebel. She wore tight jeans and t-shirts, instead of flowing skirts and button up shirts. She died her hair and took up hobbies like photography and soccer instead of studying the bible and going to church. She became 'Kara' instead of 'Caroline'. At age 13, she discovered her powers, only making it harder. She had to lie about everything, which made it worse. A lot worse. Eventually , she was kicked out of the house, forced to live on her own. Even though she was kicked out, they left her enough money to support herself. She has been living alone for two years.

Bio: A bad-boy since creation, Shane always broke the rules and did things his own way. A sociopath in most situations, his raw arrogance yet undeniable talent in most things led to him having his own small fan club in his high-school. Shane found himself able to manipulate water during a particularly intense street fight--a wall of ice stopped his attacker from smashing his head into dust. It wasn't conscious at first, but over time he learned how to harness some of his abilities. And what did he use them for? Why, stealing and fighting, of course! Though he wasn't absorbed into technology like most of the other kids, he still found it semi-interesting; but alas, he found the raw adrenalin rush of being chased by the NYPD on foot much more exhilarating than sitting on his couch, playing videogames. He represses his emotions most of the time in order to complete his goals, and only lets out said emotions when he's alone.

Bio: His parents got a divorce at a young age, and he's basically raised himself because they were too busy fighting to pay attention to him. He is mainly independent and kind of a loner. He kept to himself throughout his childhood, which gave him a lot of time to focus on his studies. He quickly rose in the technology industry for his quick wits and skill, and since technology was his only real friend throughout his life, he wants to fill not just this world, but both with it.

Kazue let her eyes wander over the four teenagers in front of her from where she sat, perched on the edge of the wall in the park. It had taken her a while to find them, but find them she had, and now, they were all here and their mission could start. "So...do you know why you're here?" she asked in her soft musical voice.

Lexi looked over at the girl who just spoke, she had been playing with leaves, setting them on fire and what not, "No not really" she said with a bell like voice. She looked at the other three who were told to join up here too. Her eyes narrowed, "Why are we here?" she figured that was the main question on everyones mind. This is dumb id rather be hanging from a bridge by my hair she grimaced at the thought and touched her hair. She grabbed a piece of paper from her bag and began lighting it on fire touching each corner and watching the orange flames grow.

"Somehow I get the feeling that you don't want to play scrabble." A 'dangerous'-looking young man in a light blue shirt and black jeans quips, looking bored and disinterested. He has brown, narrow eyes and a short, black hair cut which looks as if it was done by an unprofessional. 'What a motley crew.' He thinks to himself as he looks over the other teenagers. "Look, no offense to any of you, but I hardly doubt this will be worth my time. I could be doing something else right now." he folds his arms, standing away from the rest of the group, and taps his foot.

Kazue hopped off the wall and landed nimbly on her feet, "Yea, well if you hadn't wanted to come, why show up?" She questioned, "I've come to the understanding that all of us here can control a specific element. Some more dangerous than others. That aren't playthings." She directed the last statement towards the fire-user who was burning anything within her vicinity. "I need your help. But before I can tell you any more I need to know if I can trust you all. So, if you'll at least hear me out and not rat me out to one of the...higher ups, could you please introduce yourself to us?"

Lexi looks over at the rather rude boy, her dark blue eyes narrowed, "None of us know if it will be 'worth our time' so shut up and just listen" she told him flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder she turns back to the teenager who formed this little group. "Can we hurry up please?" she asked the girl. She dug through her purse and pulled out a bubble gum wrapper. She lit it on fire admiring the blue-green flame, she dropped the ashes onto the ground and looked back up at the girl. She smiled at the girl, but it wasnt exactly a kind smile, "Im Lexi"

"Maybe I came because I have other goals in mind here." The young man replies, watching the girl hop off of the wall nimbly. He listens in close as she speaks, then nods after the pyromaniac-girl introduces herself. "Yeah, yeah. I won't rat you out to the Zeddies, wouldn't dream of it. I don't like them and they don't like me." He takes a cigarette out of his the pack in his back pocket and lights it with his zippo, putting it into his mouth [the not-burning end, obviously.] "Shouldn't have gotten addicted. These things'll kill me." He mutters, then speaks up to introduce himself. "Name's Shane, though I wouldn't bother remembering it I was you. Something tells me I wont be here long." He points to the ground as he says it, indicating he won't be on earth long. He has a slightly foreign accent in his words, but it's very hard to discern.

Lexi looks at the boy, her eyes narrow but widen when he pulls out a cigarette pack, she smoked but she didnt want anyone to know that, she widened her eyes even more at the lighter, she didnt play with those they always blew up at her. She turned her head and looked at the girl again, "Why would i rat anyone out?" she asked, she shuffled her converse on the ground, she heard the rustle of leaves and bent down picking up a hand-ful of leaves setting them all on fire.

Kazue sighed, "First things first, would you mind not doing that? We don't want people to notice us...at least not yet." She tapped her chin for a moment, pondering, "My name is Kazue, but you can call me Emi." She tilted her head and her eyes went to the other two members of the group, "What about you?"

Kara sat on the edge of her chair, legs crossed and back straight. She listened quietly while everyone spoke, taking in all the information for future reference. When Kazue turned to her, she blew her hair out of her face. She smiled, blue eyes shining a moment before her hair fell back in front of them. "Kara" She answered shortly, uncrossing her legs and leaning back. It didn't seem like this meeting would go by as quickly as she liked, so she got comfortable, focusing her attention on Lexi and the burning leaves.

Jayce crossed his legs as he slouched back into the bench. "You know who I am already, Emi. Jayce, for the rest of you," he said giving them a small smile. He looked at the girl as she played with her fire powers, and figured maybe a small trick might calm her down and help her listen to his old friend. He quickly added a gust of wind to her burning leaves, causing the fire to grow and spark up a bit toward her. "Would it kill you to give Emi just a moment of your time? She's trying to explain something important," he asked honestly as he looked over at the man who looked as if he'd prefer to be doing anything but sitting in the park with them. He thought he was acting just the slightest bit rude, but decided to let it go.

Lexi jumped back and dropped the leaves onto the ground before it set her on fire. She looked over at the boy on the bench, Jayce he said his name was. "I was listening, i was the first to freaking introduce myself!" she glared at the boy, her dark blue eyes sparking with an inner flame. She growled at the boy and turned back to the girl named Emi. "Go on" she muttered to the girl, tempted to flip of the boy on the bench she clenched her fists and held them tight to her sides. She knew she was hot-headed and that she was acting like a bitch but she didnt care at the moment.

Shane leaned up against the wall that Emi was sitting on before, watching the pyromaniac girl and the wind guy bicker. He didn't bother remembering their names; he wouldn't need to anyway, he wasn't planning on sticking around. 'Perhaps after this I'll rob the nearby supermarket. That should cause a stir.' his thoughts wander, and as he thinks a dark smile spreads across his face. 'After all, I won't be here long. I only came because the magic girl asked me to.' As he thinks, he subconsciously creates a small, floating globe of water in his hand. The globe shapes itself into several things--a Beretta M92F, a knife, a dollar bill, the face of a girl, a coin...it seems to shape without command from it's master.

Kazue breathed out slowly, seemed no one wanted to be here. Well it was understandable in this age and time. She turned her eyes skyward for a moment and opened her mouth as if to speak, but ended up closing it again. Then a small smile appeared on her lips again as she moved to her friend's side, "Thanks Jayce." She mumbled. She took another breath, "I have a question for all of you...what do you think of...magic and nature?" She was completely out of her element here, going out and finding these people had been hard enough for her, now, talking to them, trying to explain her thoughts to them, it was all new to her, something she hadn't needed to do before. She could only hope that she wouldn't fail.

"Magic?" Shane speaks up first, gazing at the globe of water constantly changing shapes in his hand. "That's easy. Can't get enough of it. Magic's saved my ass more times than I can count; believe me, the police don't like it when the suspect they've been chasing for an hour dives into the river and vanishes without a trace." He laughs to himself, finding something funny about it. "Nature? Well, without it, we'd all be dead, since it does give us oxygen, so can't say I hate it. Besides, it's great for getting away from people and being by yourself." He takes another drag off of his cigarette, watching the embers glow, letting the other people there answer.

Kara shuffled her feet on the ground, tapping her fingers on her arm. "Magic.. we all use it, apparently.... and nature. Well, nature is what I use specifically. Some of it, at least." She smiled widely at Kazue, watching as the grass grew around the girl's feet. When it was up to her knees it stopped and Kara folded her legs on her seat. Her elbows propped up on her legs, head resting in her hands now. This was getting more interesting. Although she wasn't usually this social, though you could hardly call it that, she was having fun. It was surprising to know that others had powers as well. The purpose of the meeting was her biggest wonder, though. She just had to keep listening to find it out..

Jayce ignored the girl's obvious anger, he wasn't about to pick a fight while Emi was trying to talk. He smiled up to Emi as she tried explaining herself, hoping he could help his friend. "Magic is a good friend of mine," he started sincerely. "It's helped me out with quite a lot of things," he stated thoughtfully. He sat up straight on the bench, grinning at the thought of nature. "We need nature to live, and I definitely know that I feel really connected to it," he asnwered taking a deep breath of fresh air. It always relaxed him, he strived off of nice clean air, so it probably wasn't always such a good idea living in such a technological city. He ran his fingers through his hair quickly as he stared up into the sky for a moment before returning his gaze to his friend.

"So would you all agree on saving it no matter what? Nature that is." Kazue continued, nodding at each reply, they all seemed pretty positive to her. "From the adults who are trying to take it all out? Our world is dying...did you know that?" Kazue laid her hands on the grass that had grown to her knees and watched as it receded, "There's one place left that's still pure. That technology hasn't destroyed yet. Would you be willing to fight to keep it that way with me?" If she didn't have their support then she'd find another way. She would have to.

Jayce automatically knew his answer. He stood up next to Emi, slinging an arm around her shoulder. "Of course I'd protect nature, you know I've never exactly been that into all this electronic stuff anway," he told her, laughing sincerely. He looked over at the other three, wondering if they would feel the same way as him. He didn't think Kara would have trouble agreeing, since she seemed to be the most intuned with nature. He smiled at them, hoping they would all give Emi support like he had.

Shane shrugged, instantly knowing the answer. "Well, damn, if nature gets destroyed then we get destroyed too. I guess I'm all for it." He says, pushing himself up off the wall, flicking his cigarette into the air and encasing it in water, tossing the water globe over the wall to the other side where it hits a passing car, spraying water all over the driver's windshield. "Besides, I find sticking it to the Zeddies a lot funner than going along with them, so you have my vote." He folds his arms, grinning. "'Rage against the dying of the light', I think the old poem went."
