(( Since I am going to be playing the Persocom to be found, I think Osaka would be a better choice to make the first In Character post...))

Osaka walked home through the snow, pulling her coat tightly around her, she liked watching the snow fall, it was peaceful and... she stopped and took a couple of steps backwards. There was a large pile of garbage against a wall, and, in the middle of it, a girl... or at least, she looked like a girl. She had funny ears. Osaka walked over to inspect.

The unit was mostly powered off. Only the internal chonometer made it aware of the passage of time. It was wrapped in some sort of cloth, but they were just rags. When the girl approached, she disturbed the pile where it lay.

It slipped off the pile on which it was precariously balanced and toppled forward, arms flailing slightly. An observer would have seen a strange sight, a female figure falling forward from a pile of trash on top of another, arms around her.

Since the unit was powered off, it was quite heavily as it lay atop the girl.

Osaka yelped as the unit fell onto her.
"Wow... she's heavy," she said to herself as she struggle out from underneath it. She looked at it for a moment, puzzled "I suppose I'll have to take her home with me" she managed to pick it up, her hands under its and she began pulling it, checking over her shoulder so that she didn't walk into anything. She also noticed that it's feet were dragging on the ground slightly, but there wasn't really anything she could do to prevent it.

During the struggle the girl had activated her power switch. Unfortunately she didn't have much power, and couldn't fully turn on. The weight dampners did work, so she engaged them, her feet no longer dragged along the ground. It is possible the solar power receptors on her body would absorb enough energy to become fully operational by the time she got... wherever the girl was taking her.

Finally the motion stopped. Where was she? She didn't even have enough power to operate her optical receptors. Well, she was patient, and waited for whatever was to happen next to occur.

Osaka stood panting for a moment, she had finally managed to pull it to her house. She lay it down on the floor and sat down, looking at it.
"What now?" she tapped it on the forehead "Hello? Miss? Are you okay?" she asked, seeing if it would wake up.

Her audio sensors were working perfectly. She knew the girl who had moved her had no idea what she needed. She also knew what she had to do. If she did it, she would be completely helpless and drained of power afterwards.

It seemed that most of her programming was missing, but she seemed to recall that most humans, even if they didn't know about persocoms, would understand that electrical appliances needed to be plugged in. She would only have one shot.

She forced her eyes open, vocalized one word "Energy!", managed to reach to her power cord on the side of her head under her "ear" and pull the plug out a bit. With that she collapsed, all remaining energy drained.

As she faded into hibernate mode, she hoped that she didn't have to remain in that mode long.

Osaka watched the unit as it pulled some sort of wire out of it's ear, or where it's would've been. On closer inspection she found that it was just an ordinary plug. She pulled it, quickly put it into the socket on the wall and flicked the switch. She then turned back to the unit to see if anything would happen.

Her eyes opened slightly and the gleam of electricity shone across them from left to right. The cycle repeated for a few minutes until she was able to power up. Things were looking up, she thought, as her power reserves increased.

Finally, after about ten minutes, she was able to sit up. "Thank-thank You." she managed to say. "One-one hour until full charge." She stared at Osaka, not knowing what else to say.

Osaka smiled at the persocom "Okay, I'll wait here with you. Do you have a name? I'm Ayumu Kasuga... although most people called me Osaka"

She stared at Osaka, that same glow snaking across her eyes repeatedly as she searched her memory banks. "I-I do not seem to have a na-name in my memory. Much of my-my programming seems to be missing. Pardon my stutter. This will pass as power is re-restored."

She looked around the room, curiously and shifted. the loose rags that wrapped around her began falling off and revealing her nakedness underneath. She was obviously constructed to look exactly like a real girl (ears of course excepted) even where clothes are meant to cover.

Osaka nodded "We'll think of a name for you later then... for now I think clothes is more of a priority" she stood up and looked around "I might have some clothes that are too big for me upstairs, give me a minute" she dashed upstairs and returned a minute or so later with a large jumper and a long skirt "This is all I've got..." she said meekly before kneeling down next to the persocom "Do you need some help getting the clothes on?"

She unplugged herself for a moment as she took the clothes. Turning it around several ways, and staring at Osaka and how she wore hers, she figured out how to get the jumper on. It was a struggle, but she managed to figure out which holes were for arms and which was for the head. The skirt was easier, as she stepped into that fairly easily before plopping back down and grabbing the plug again so she could continue recharging. "I-I am programmed with learning abil-ability, but it seems most-most of my programming is missing. I'm afraid-raid that you won't find me very use-useful..." She looked down, embarrassed.

Osaka watched the persocom dress herself awkwardly, nodding when she explained, even though she didn't really understand.
"Maybe I could teach you things then... is there anything you do remember how to do?" she asked, not really sure of what she was getting herself into. Could she really teach this robot by herself? Probably not, but she would definately try!

She paused a moment. "My speech module is intact, as is my internet access module. Basic movements, cognitive, reading, all report functioning. What is missing is my identity, and most of my human interaction software which I think humans call 'emotions' are incomplete. It is in my list of imperative tasks to repair these modules. I can be programmed from an internet link, but my memory tells me these programs are expensive. I can also learn manually."

She watched as Osaka's eyes glazed over in much the same way hers did when she was charging, and wondered for a moment if she was also a persocom, then she rejected this theory. Osaka's eyes were genuinely blank for a few moments.

The unit awaited futher instruction.

Osaka didn't really understand what the persocom was saying, but nodded along anyway. She thought for a minute after it had stopped talking, and came to the conclusion that maybe, with a little help, she would be able to teach the persocom things.
"Maybe I could teach you... I have to go to school though, would you rather come with me or stay here?" she tilted her head slightly.

"N-no, I don't think they al-allow persocoms at school. I can read books here to learn, or if you have a computer with internet access, I could learn even faster, but I-I wouldn't know what to search, so you better be here when I do that." The stuttering was becoming less frequent, and she hoped that it would be gone by the time Osaka got home from school. It made her feel... broken, somehow.

"Do you have books that I could read while you are at school?" She asked, smiling.

Osaka's eyes glazed over again for a few moments, before she said "I think we have some how-to books... I know there's definately cookbooks and..." she trailed off when she spotted the clock "Oh god! I have to hurry or I'll be late for school! Wait here and I'll get the cookbooks, I'll look for the others later!" she ran out and returned a minute or so carrying a few large books. "I have to go now, so stay here and read, and try not to get into trouble!" she ran out again. A door opened, letting in a gust of cold wind, then shut again, the key could be heard twisting in the lock... and then quiet.

The unit, which didn't have a name yet, decided the first thing she should do is get a name. She looked at the top book, Quick & Easy Japanese Cuisine for Everyone and looked at its author's name, who appeared to be female. She decided, her name was now Yukiko. Yukiko Kasuga, for her owner.

She flipped through the book, and read over the ingredients and recipes. Apparently food was how people got energy, so Yukiko decided it was only polite to provide energy for Ayumu in return.

After half an hour had went by and her power source was full, she unplugged herself and looked through the small kitchenette in Ayumu's apartment. Doing an inventory, she cross-referenced it with the recipes in the book. She didn't have a lot, but there were two recipes she could make, and they were both salads. She hoped that was going to be all right, she would have to make a list of things for Ayumu to bring to her so she could provide her more energy tomorrow.

Yukiko started humming randomly, her memory banks dimly remembering a tune from a lifetime ago, as she began cooking.

When she was done, she had made Octupus Salad, and Cucumber Salad. It was almost a shame that she couldn't eat, because she would have liked to have tried some. She would have to see what Ayumu thought when she got home. She made sure to keep the salads in the refrigerator because the book said they were best served cold.

Osaka's day wasn't very interesting. Until last period. She'd been contemplating all day whether to tell anybody about the persocom she'd found. She decided around ten minutes before the end of school.
"I found a girl this morning... She looked like a girl anyway. I think she's a robot..." she said quietly to Chiyo-chan "Would you like to come and see her? She says she needs to be tought. Maybe you could help" she ended up interupting every time Chiyo-chan was about to speak, but then finally went quiet.
