Smiling warmly, Mikhail nodded. "Of course, we could. I made sure that the main door to this level is strong enough to handle Hamlet's brute force in case he does break out of his bedroom door." There he took Rosaleen's hand and escorted her to the Kitchen, a place where they were not allowed in due to the chefs.
But due to their absence, Mikhail deemed it enough to venture into the place and helped themselve to make their own food. It was quite a big kitchen but mainly because there were many stations where various foodstuffs can be made at the same time such as stews, meats and various others. At the center of the kitchen lay most of the kitchen equpiment in wooden racks on the desk where recipes books were stacked neatly. Taking off his hooded shawl and his long coat and hanging them to replace the items with an apron he went to grab the recipe books, placing some infront of Rosaleen. "Here are some books for you to choose what food you want to make and eat. The ingrediants are near the back of the kitchen. The ingrediants should last us three weeks or so just enough to endure the events of the Night for the time being." Mikhail turned over a number of pages looking for a simple but filling meal for him to eat, "While we're at it, if you have any questions for about the supernatural, occult and what not, ask me. I'm sure you do have some questions." |
"Yes, I do have a question, Is it possible..for..a vampire and a human to have a child?" She asked as she skimmed through the books, finding a recipe for a quick and easy omelet. She glanced over at him as she walked around the fridge grabbing two eggs, milk, butter, cheese, and ham. She grabbed a frying pan and placed some butter in it.
While that melted, she mixed the broke and beat the eggs, then added a little milk and mixed that with it, the book said for consistency, she poured that into the pan and followed the directions until it was nice and fluffy, she placed it on a plate, cooked the ham and placed that and some cheese into the omelet then recooked it on the pan for about five minutes. |
Mikhail was silent for the moment as he considered the question. Should he go with what he has been reading up on or go with what he already knows? Milhail racked through his brain about the reliability of the research he has been doing as of late but found that he couldn't recall any. Thus making Mikhail choose the latter of his options.
"Many vampires aren't able to have children. Mainly because almost if not all vampire's are impotent and sterile." Mikhail as he tooks some cheese, vegetables, takinga chopping board down and beginning to dice the ingrediants before he continued. "That's why many vampiric couples turn humans, especially orphans and adopt them into the family as children. There has yet to be accounts on human and vampire relations but there is a high possibility that they cannot have children." Mikhail fell silent not knowing what to say to a woman who was expecting a child. "I'm sorry if I have dashed your hopes in having a family." Was all he could say since really as a man he cannot comprehend the feelings of pregnant and or expecting wives. |
"I..It's fine, it was silly to even ask in the first place." She said taking the pan and bowl to the sink and washing them off. She had hoped he was going to say there was at least a chance, but from what he said there didn't even seem to be an inkling of a chance. She finished washing the pan and the bowl then dried them and put them away. She grabbed her plate and walked into the dinning room, where only days, or hours ago, her best friend had sat and eaten dinner with her and Hamlet.
She sat in the seat she had sat in that evening and started eating after saying a small prayer, a sort of habit she had, usually she said it quietly in her head, but tonight it seemed to be needed to be said out loud. |
After placing the diced ingredients and water into a pan and allowing to stew for the awhile, Mikhail had made some cheese and leeks soup, puring the thick liquid into a big bowl taking out to the Dining Room.
Seating himself next to Rosalind, he began the soup taking spoonfuls of the warm liquid. A heavy silence hung in the air as both tried to eat their meals in perfect silence but Mikhail couldn't stand it since the heaviness of such tension was causing him to lose his appetite and suffocate him. When half the soup was gone, Mikhail spoke out, "Rosaleen what would you do if Hamlet somehow becomes mortal again?" |
"I'd stay by his side, Help him cope with the every changing lifestyles, and ways of life, as I would if he stayed immortal. I'd try to have a family with him..I'm selfish I know." She said as she ate her omelet. She wanted to have a family with Hamlet, to see him play with their son, read to their daughter, the children's first words, first steps. She sighed and took another bite.
"What do you think are the chances of that happening?" She asked looking over at him. |
"Honestly, I don't know. The nature of these speclls, concoctions and rituals are too unpredictable. There is just too many variables to consider." Mikhail answered honestly. The his knowledge, although vast, wasn't enough to discern the actual outcomes of such events. Afterall, these were ancient arts that Hamlet was dabbling in, arts that were thought to be long dead.
Downing the rest of his soup, he got up and took his and Rosaleen's plates and dishes before returning to the kitchen to clean them up. Mikhail was rather domestic for a male of his time. Since he was a former nomad, he had to learn how to do certain things himself as payment for staying in other houses. Coming back out once the items were clean, Mikhail was back in his usually white garb. "And don't worry about being selfish. It is nature to be selfish at times." Mikhail commented at Rosaleen's former comment. The grandfather clock soon struck twelve times, it loud echoes bellowing throughout the ground floor as the windows begain to rattle from the spiritual and superntural beings clawing at the windows. Their black abysses screaming silent screams of anger very much the their hallowed black sockets. "Please ignore the spirits. This tends to happen on the Night. All creatures physical, spiritual or metaphysicall come out to roam the living plane." Mikhail had said this calmly, walking towards the corner of the dining room where a wrapped item was and grabbing it before walking back to where he was. "Well then shall we continue?" [[I just realised that I went fantasy on you. Sorry this tends to happen with me when it comes to vmapire romances. >___<" ]] |
Rosaleen held back a scream as she heard the creatures outside screaming and trying to get in. She watched as Mikhail walked back over with a wrapped item. She nodded and stood. "Where are we going? Back to the room?" She asked pushing her hair back behind her ear.
"Mikhail..Your a magician...What all kinds of magic can you do? C..Can you see inside the human body..like...X-ray?" She asked placing a hand on her tummy. |
"Yes we're going back to the room." Mikhail answered as he escorted the blonde upstairs towards her room. It was probably much safer tp be on the upper levels in case Hamlet DOES indeed break out.
"Technically speaking, I'm more of an exorcist. A 'white witch' as one may call them. So now I cannot see through objects or people unlike my black witch counterparts. However I can detect presences though I am limited in that too as I can only discern supernatural or natural presences." Mikhail said as he carried the wrapped item up escorting Rosaleen to her room. "Why do you ask?" |
"Oh..I was feeling naousis, and I wanted to know if you could..maybe see if there was something in there...causing it." She said wringing her hands together as they reached her room. She sat on her bed and curled up into a ball in the middle of it. Everything was just running together, and she felt as if she could close her eyes and sleep for a week. She yawned and did close her eyes and drifted asleep just as the sun rose.
Her last thought was, 'As of late, I seem to be sleeping most of the day lately' before she allowed the sleep to cling on and take her over. |
