My Story: Hello! My Name is Miyah, I am in this place because they believe that I am actually crazy. Hey don't eat that cookie you stupid penguin! Anywho I had them give me the diffenition of my "illness" and this is what it said: Psychosis literally means abnormal condition of the mind, and is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality". People suffering from psychosis are said to be psychotic.
People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and thought disorder. This may be accompanied by unusual or bizarre behavior, as well as difficulty with social interaction and impairment in carrying out the daily life activities.
A wide variety of central nervous system diseases, from both external poisons and internal physiologic illness, can produce symptoms of psychosis.
However, many people have unusual and unshared (distinct) experiences of what they perceive to be different realities without fitting the clinical definition of psychosis. For example, many people in the general population have experienced hallucinations related to religious or paranormal experience. As a result, it has been argued that psychosis is simply an extreme state of consciousness that falls beyond the norms experienced by most.[3] In this view, people who are clinically found to be psychotic may simply be having particularly intense or distressing experiences (see schizotypy).
You know what? I think this is a load a bull! I do not have trouble carrying out my life they way that I want it. Yes, I am constantly followed by a penguin and sometimes a bunny... 0.o but does that really mean that I'm crazy? It's not my fault that it was "brought on" by my parents death. They got into a car wreck and I was sent to live with my aunt. She blamed the entire thing on me, I sooo did NOT cut their brake lines because they grounded me for a month! Oops... did I say that? Crud, well now you know about me and why I'm here, what about you?

Name: Jayce Luis Michaels or Marshall Davies
Age: 20
Condition: Split Personality Disorder
Appearance: [X]
My Story: My name is Jayce, originally Jason but as soon as I turned eighteen Marshall made me change it to something more street. People say I am pretty screwed up, sometimes I agree with them. Though when I do Marshall gets angry. He believes that we are invincible and we are the most inportant peopl out there. When I was 20 after I was found wandering naked along the freeway the took me in for a psych evaluation and diagnosed me as schtzophrenic so sent me to an asylum. Thats where I am now. They give medication and they lock me up when Marshall gets aggresive. I don't think I belong here. I don't think that it helps me and I definately don't like the way they treat Marshall.
Yeah? What you looking at? What you wanna know? I am Marshall, Marshall Davies and I am the poor dude who is stuck with Jayce, the personality of a moose. I am the one who keeps him in check and acts if anyone messes with us. I am the brains of this operation so you better clean out your ear holes. I am gonna get him out this dump so y'all better watch yourselves 'cos we are coming! COPY?!

I sat on my bunk, staring at the bleak whitewashed walls around me. I wiggled my toes on the bleached tiles. I sighed. I am in the prime of my life and yet I am stuck in here, caged, contained, captured, like some sort of guinea pig. I should be out having fun. Going to parties. Eating out. Hanging with friends. Being with Syl.
Before all this got out of control Syl was my girl. Sylvia Parkes. She was my world, she was the reason that I woke up. She gave me hope. Her smile brightened up the whole room and in her eyes I could see nothing but hope. She understood me like no-other. Marshall was even under control with her.
Though Marshall grew tired of my settling down. He grew more rowdy, more rambungtious and broke free in September. He made me do things that were unspeakable. Made me do things I wasn't proud of. He drove Syl away. So I was alone and then I slowly began to recluse from society, getting more and more wild until eventually I wanted to rid myself of Marshall. My thinking was clouded and in the end I was picked up by a patrol car for walking naked down the freeway.
After a pysch evaluation they said I was a schitzophrenic, I'm not. I am a regular guy who happens to have a second side. I am not the only one so don't see why I am being held here.
Shawridge Heights. A leading asylum apparently. This is my clinical hell. This is what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life. Marshall is still here and still making things dificult for me.
There was a small tap at my door. I looked up as one of the nurses entered.
"Hello. Jayce?" she asked me.
"Yes."
"You have a visitor."
She smiled to someone behind her who side-stepped and came into view. It was none other than Sylvia. Marshall was not happy.
"What are you doing here?...Bitch."
She looked shocked. "Jayce. Its me."
"Yeah, you is the blonde bimbo who deserted me!"
"What are you saying? I heard about everything and feel awful about what I said, I want to make it up with you."
"Yeah well I don't want you no more! I don't need yo' symapthy. I am fine here! So get lost!"
She wavered for a moment before hanging her head and muttering about a mistake before pushing past the nurse who was standing there shocked. She nodded in a kindly fashion before shutting the door. Leaving me alone.
Marshall had scared off Syl yet again. Now there was no hope. I stood up and let out an anguished shout and savagely punched at the wall, plaster falking around my feet as I collapsed onto the small metal bed and threadbare blankets.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-08-2010 06:27 AM

A girl, clutching a kitten stuffed animal that had been stitched up, was being directed down the white hallway of Shawridge Heights when she passed blonde woman obviously in distraught. She shrugged it off and was taken to her room. "I can't go in there." she stated quite simply. "He's sitting in my chair." she told the nurse. A pale finger pointing towards the chair in the corner that, to any one sane, looked to be empty. The nurse urged her to go in and told her there was nothing in there. The girl reluctantly went into the room and sat on her bed, still clutching the toy kitten. "I'm not talking to you." she said towards the chair. "Just go away." In her eyes there was a rather large and insulting penguin sitting in her chair.

'Well hello there! My name is Miyah Raine Lorielle, and I am currently residing at the Shawridge Heights insane asylum because my aunt hates me and does not want to deal with having to take care of someone. All because she can't let go of the fact that she is a 48 year old cougar. Also because I cut the brake lines on my parents cars because they grounded me for telling them what I see. Sometimes I wonder if they even thought about me when they went down that hill at 110mph. I doubt it. The only thing they ever cared about were their jobs and money. Oh and their other beloved daughter who is not me. They care about her more than they do me, even in death! How's that for icing on the cake? Mm... cake...' Miyah looked up from her journal and looked around her room, the penguin had gone and she could relax. She wondered who else might be in this wonderful new home with her. What sort of characters would she meet?

Portia 01-08-2010 03:34 PM

The nurse rushed back into the room, her eyes darting from the flaking plaster on the wall to my bleeding fist.
"Jayce?"
I let out a grunt that she presumed meant yes. I hated it when they said my name as if asking if it was me. Who else would it be?
"Did you do that to the wall?" she asked. Marshall couldn't stand the ignorance of this woman a second longer. He errupted.
"Who else woulda done it? Fairies?!"
The nurse shook her head. "Now that is no way to treat me Michael."
"Who you calling Michael fool? Its Marshall!"
The nurse looked worry. Rightly so. Marshall was angry and she was just fuel to the fire.
"I would leave if I were you," I said simply to her.
"Are you threatening me? BACKUP NEEDED ROOM 214!"
I sat bolt upright as three very large, muscly men hustled into my room. I gulped.
The next thing I knew I was alone. In a locked room far unlike my own. It was sort of like a cell with a reinforced cell door. I had an aching arm and upon closer inspection saw a puncture wound from a needle. I sighed. They must have sedated me before transporting me here. I was soon going to be known as a dangerous man. I could hear Marshall speaking.
"Shoulda put hands on her. She wouldn't have done nothing if you sent her into next week," he said in tha cocky 'I told you so' voice he always uses.
"I don't hit women." I added under my breath "unlike some people."
This was just great. Life was certainly on the up for me. Not.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-08-2010 04:07 PM

There was loud noises from the room 214. Miyah got up and tried to look out her room, apparently her neighbor was causing a commotion and he was being taken to the "quiet room". She grinned and yelled out, "Oooooh!!! You messed up now!" she called out as loud as she could. The nurse looked at her through the little window in the door. "Hey, can I get some drawing stuff?" she asked the nurse, standing on her tip-toes to see her.

The nurse looked at her. "I will see what I can do. I will talk to your doctor." she replied. "Oh you don't need to talk to the pompous boneheaded jerk!" Miyah called out as the nurse started to follow the two very large muscular men who were dragging a very sedated man in between them. She cocked her head to the side as she looked at him with interest. She sighed and pushed off her door and went to the chair. She was finally alone in her room and she could at least doodle in her journal. "I'm hungry." she said outloud to no one. "When is lunch?"

Portia 01-08-2010 04:24 PM

I lay on my bed with the pillow resting over my face. I was trying to drown out the noise of Marshall and block out the living nightmare I was living in but really it was about as helpfull as a hole in the head. I sighed.
"What you griping at fool?"
"Nothing really...just why did you do that to Syl?" I asked him quietly so he could pretend not to hear if he wanted.
"Cos she didn't treat you good. Using you for her own selfish game. That is wrong man. You is the user my friend."
His words vibrated around my head. Me? I didn't want to be a user. I didn't want to use Syl for my own pleasure, or any woman for that matter. I just want to be your normal guy. Though now I am here, trapped, this place will follow me like a bad smell for the rest of my life. A constant reminder that I am not a normal guy. A constant reminder that I will never get another girl to like me, and if like is out of the question so is the one thing that I have desired since I was young: love.
"Look. You better off without her, she was just a crackhead. You can do better!"
I started to laugh. Syl was one of the most straighlaced people I have ever met, even the thought of her on drugs was prepostorous.
"How long do you think I will be stuck here?"
"Til' you polish off the nurse."
"Don't joke Marshall. Anyway, I am starving, when do you think they are going to get their act together and bring me that muck they call food?"
"Who knows but I could really go for some ribs right about now. You know?"

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-08-2010 04:53 PM

Miyah glanced up when she heard the heard nurse of the intercom, "Section A+ is ready for lunch and sedation rounds for the afternoon." came her nasaly voice. 'That's our section...' Miyah thought to herself. She hid her journal between the matresses of her bed. She went to the door and saw the nurses getting out the other patients one by one. She let out an ear piercing scream when that damn penguin popped up infront of the window in her door. 'Shit..... now I'm going to be like that other guy..." she thought, going back to sit on her bed.

Shawridge Heights had each section graded by insanity; D, C, B, A, A+, S. A+ was apparently the section they nurses and doctors were going to do experiments. Though, S ment that they were the worst when it came to insanity. D section was the minor cases and so on and so on. The experiments had started on a few of the patients that had been there longer, so Miyah had not been subjected to that treatment yet.

Her door was opened and her nurse stepped in. "Miyah... are you ready?" she asked. Miyah looked at her and nodded, thinking that she was not going to take the medication they were going to give her. She grabbed her kitten and stood up, allowing the nurse to take her to the lunch area. She saw another nurse going to the "quiet room" to get the man from earlier.

Portia 01-08-2010 06:46 PM

I could hear the scraping of a key in the lock and the metallic sound of the barrels moving. A short, rounded, nurse with curly red hair and smoky grey eyes was standing there. I replaced the pillow over my face.
"Lunch." I stayed motionless. "Lunch and medication then you can go back to your own room."
"have you not drugged me enough for one day bitch?!" Marshall said angrilly to her. She glared nd walked up, grabbing my wrists and pulling me up. Roughly.
"hey! That hurts!" I complained, pulling away.
"lunch!"
"I heard you the first time but you never answered my question! I demand to see management. The service here is shocking!"
"You don't have the right to demand anything! Do you hear? You are nothing but a sad, mad, little man who can only hope to achive inner peace because for the rest of your life your going to be here. You know why? Because you are mad. Now...lunch!" she shouted before yanking me up and steering me purposefully towards the eating hall.
"For a carer your not very caring. I can see why your husband left you!"
"Shut up and sit here! I will bring your food and medication in a minute!"
I looked to the person next to me. She was a girl. Pretty, nothing like Syl, but pretty none the less. She had a cuddly toy cat with her. I smiled.
"Nurses. Can't live with them can't live without them."

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-08-2010 06:58 PM

Miyah smiled and tilted her head to the side, her pink and black hair tumbling to over her shoulders. "Yes, they are all that way I suppose." she replied, her voice quiet and almost dreamy as she spoke. She placed the cat infront of her and looked around to see how close the nurses were. "I don't take the medication..." she whispered to him, placing the pills in the back of her cat as quickly as possible before she put the cat back on her lap and looked next to the man infront of him. "I don't want to talk to you right now." she told the penguin she could only see. She turned back to the man. "My name is Miyah." she told him, smiling a very unusual crooked smile. Her eyes were greyish blue and seemed a bit distant when she spoked to him. "What's your name?" she asked, glaring at the space next to him once more before she looked back at him with the same crooked yet bright smile.

The nurses brought them their food after they thought she had taken her medication. They were now going to keep a close eye on them while they ate, making sure they didn't try anything stupid to the person they were with.

Portia 01-08-2010 09:08 PM

I smiled to her but tipped my pills down my throat.
"I take mine but do it in such a way that they don't get absorbed into my bloodstream, something I picked up as a kid. Though its a clever idea using the cat as a storage device."
I watched her in wonder as she spoke to the air next to me. I felt comfortable with her, more so than with anyone else whom I had met here. She was like me in a way..well, perhaps not.
"It is lovely to meet you. I'm Jayce...though...I sometimes am a different person," I said and then sighed. It was quite difficult to explain.
"They say I am a schitzophrenic, but I'm not. I know I'm not. Just they said if you have two different people in you then you are. Though I can't be. I read up on the condition when I was in the quiet room when I first came here, I don't think like they do so I can't be. Though the people here don't listen. If I am ever nasty or loud or mean it won't be me thats really talking. It will be Marshall."
I nodded to the nurse who brought me my tray and I began to toy with the stringy green beans and prod delicately at lumpy mashed potatoes.
"Marshall says some things that are unforgiveable at times. Though I'm not like him. I promise I am not."
I was saying it more to myself than to her as I took a forkfull of the suspisious meat and began to eat.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-09-2010 01:32 AM

Miyah nodded. "Is that why that girl was walking away upset earlier?" she asked, cocking her head to the side once more. She looked down at the food in disgust, but she ate it anyway, questioning if they put anything in it. "So now I know that if you start acting like an ass that's not you?" she then asked, looking up at him. The kitten in her lap looked like it was staring at him as well, it's red button eyes lifeless. It was black but it had patches of other colors on it's head, paws, and tummy. She shifted it and then looked at the space next to him, shaking her head the frowned. "The penguin is trying to bribe me with the drugs." she told him.

Portia 01-09-2010 02:35 AM

Jayce nodded sadly.
"Yes...that was Sylvia. Someone I used to love, though she was just like everyone else so she never understood me and accused me for Marshall. Marshall was nasty to her today and now she will never come back." I chewed my meat mournfully but then smiled wanly at Miyah. "Though I'm better off without her, she is obviously no good for me. So how upset did she look when you saw her?"
I nodded, happy she seemed to understand right away.
"Exactly, so if I ever say anything to hurt you...its not me. Promise."
I watched her. I knew better than to ask so I just nodded. I looked at the empty seat next to me where her penguin friend was sitting.
"Whats the penguins name?"

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-09-2010 06:53 AM

Miyah shrugged and ate a little more of the stuff they called food. "Well she looked more regretful than anything." she replied. "Like she made a mistake on coming here, I see Marshall was the reason." she added. She reached up and tugged at a pink strand of hair that was in her face, a tattoo could be seen on her wrist, it was a moon laced with strands of stars swirling around it, going around her wrist and slightly up her forearm.
She tilted her head, a smirk forming on her face. "That's a big promise to someone you just met." she said, her smirk turning into a grin.
Miyah looked at the penguin then shrugged as she looked back at him. "He tries to trick me, but I'm pretty sure it's Vern. He gets on my nerves." she replied, her eyes seeming to to change their color to a darker blue rather than gray.

Portia 01-09-2010 02:32 PM

Regretfull. I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting anger or hurt, but not regret. After all we have been though it has turned to this.
"Yeah well, its that bitches fault anyways! She is just a bit of skin for me!" Marshall said cruelly. "Sweet tatoo by the way. I were wanting one, celtic skull but then this doosh got us locked in here."
I shook my head and then cleared my throat before turning to Miyah.
"I think I know the feeling of getting on my nerves. You just met Matshall by thw way."
"AND SHOULD BE DAMN PROUD!"
There was a ringing silence after his outburst where everyone was staring. I looked down to my tray and quickly began to shovel in my mashed potatoes.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-09-2010 04:16 PM

Miyah grinned. "Yea, kinda got that." she replied with a smile. "Thank you by the way, Marshall. I got this right before my aunt sent me here. What celtic design did you want as a tattoo?" she asked, not bothered by Marshall's outburst. Miyah looked around and waved her hand at the people who were staring. "Hello! Gotta problem?" she asked, making them feel embarassed for even looking in her direction. She hated when people would stare at you just because of something your couldn't control.
"Stop it!" she growled at the penguin. He was dancing around the cafeteria, holding a bottle of rum and wearing a pirate hat. "Oui Ve.... maybe I should take the meds..." she whispered, making sure the nurses couldn't hear her or all hell would break loose. She looked back at Jayce. "So what sent you here?" she asked.

Portia 01-09-2010 04:53 PM

Marshall considered his answer for a moment before answering. "Well it was this skull and snake design with a celtic band design orund it. Really smart it was too, a whole back peice. I spent ages planning it, working the costs for ink and everything but then this pussy had to go off the rails and send his grilfriend running. He never could handle people."
I chuckled as Miyah sent the watchers shuffling on to their tables, heads down, slippered feet thwacking off the tiled flooring. I cleared my throat.
"Well things were becoming harder and harder to cope with, I was having trouble picking what was real from what was not, you know, losing my grip on reality. One day I just snapped though. I did some really bad stuff. I got drunk on Jack Daniels and took Syl's car out and smacked it into the wall of her parents house, which put her mum in hospital with a broken leg. She chucked me after that and I couldn't handle it. I wanted to rip myself into peices and just end the pain. I don't know how I was going to manage that but when I was walking down the freeway naked one woman got a blanket and took me here in her 60s convertible merc."
"Yeah, middle of winter that Mr.Smartass decided it would be a good time to prance around starkers too. Brr."
I could feel my cheeks burning as Marshall spoke but I looked calmly to Miyah.
"So," I asked. "Why are you here?"

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-09-2010 05:23 PM

Miyah laughed at Marshall's comment. She then looked at Jayce and tilted her head to the side, wondering what he would look like with a back piece tattoo. She took a bite of food and contemplated her reply. "Well lets see....." she started, her dreamy voice coming back into play. "I suppose I could say that Vern made me do it but I don't know if I would be lieing." she told him. "Well first of all I guess we could say that it started with me getting grounded because I see stuff. My parents are rather wealthy so you can only imagine what they thought when their only daughter spends her time argueing with an invisable penguin, sometimes it's a bunny named Jack but that's besides the point, I was supposed to be grounded for 2 months. Needless to say, I got pissed that they didn't believe me. So I cut the brake lines on their car that afternoon because they were going to go out to a party that night. They were going down the hill with no breaks straight off the bridge at the end of our road." she took a drink of water and sighed. "I pretended to cry and was sent to live with my couger of an aunt, the police found the brakes had been cut and my aunt blamed it on me, Vern set her house on fire.... and viola' I am here." she finished, taking another sip of water. "You're story is a lot better than mine though." she told him with a crooked smile.

Portia 01-09-2010 06:06 PM

I gasped at her story. I wasn't expecting anything like that at all. What a shame she had been treated like that, she couldn't help it yet was been treated like an outcast by her own family. I couldn't imagine anything as awful as how that must have been. Here I was feeling sorry because one woman, who is nothing to me, no relation, was treating me like the rest of the public do, when there were people like me out there but being treated so badly by their own family. It made me feel awful thinking about it.
"Oh thats terrible that you were treated that way by your family! They shouldn't have treated you like that. So. Are Vern and Jack the same to you as what Marshall is to me?" I said to her then considered. "Some people say that I am the way I am because of my family. The fact is that I never knew them. I was put into a foster home when I was born, my mother abandoned me outside the door when I was six months old. I don't know about my father. Though how that affected me I do not know. It made me learn to take care of myself though. I was ten when I met Marshall, he got me into a lot of trouble, he still does. Though in a way, he is more like family to me than anyone ekse I have met," I said glumly, not wanting to eat anymore, though Marshall was starving so on his accord he began to chew at the gristle of the meat.
"God, no need for the drama. People are losers, simple as. I would kill for some ketchup. Think they have any to spice up this dryass meat? Yo! Nurse! Over here! Thats it, speed it up a little there grandma, people are hungry over here!" He shouted to a nurse who glared and then turned back to her collegue. "Sheesh."

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-09-2010 07:10 PM

Miyah scoffed. "I was always an outcast I suppose. My parents wanted me to be their pretty little princess and I just wanted to paint." she told him, giving up on eating the nasty meal the estate served them. "No, I suppose Vern and Jack are my subconscious trying to tell me what to do when I don't want to. I don't see Jack very often, I think he's more of the emotions type. He was there at my parents funeral. Vern is around when he thinks I need to be distructive or do something I don't want to. Like right now he's dancing around with alcohol pretending to kick the nurses." she told him, blinking as Marshall yelled at the nurse. She thought he was pretty funny. "I'm thinking me and you have rooms next to each other. But did you realise that the other sections of this place don't have pluses next to the letter?" she asked in a low voice. "I think they are planning something with our section. Course I think the entire world is one giant scheme made up by robots." she said, spacing out for a moment. She took another drink of water.

Portia 01-09-2010 10:43 PM

I blinked at her.
"Do we? I never noticed you before. Whats your number? I'm in 214. I take it you saw me been dragged off today then?" I could feel my cheeks flushing. "There is nothing wrong with being different. Heck, if anyone knows that its me. I am the king of different. I suppose Marshall does the things that I need to do but never have the guts to. He does it his way and of his own accord. No warning whatsoever. It can be a pain at times but-"
"You love me baby!" he said loudly.
I pushed away my tray and sipped at water, contemplating what Miyah said. I had never noticed that before, though in all honesty it never suprised me if they are.
"They most probably are. I never noticed that before though I am going to keep my eyes open from now on. We should perhaps do some investigations on it when we are scheduled for the recreations room," I said trying to sound off hand. Though personally it sounded fun to me, like something I would do in the real world. Not cooped up in here, festering.
"Lunch is over. All patients shall now be escorted back to their rooms."
A large nurse came over and motioned for me to follow.
"Speak with you later Miyah!" I called behind me as I was led back to my room.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-11-2010 12:42 AM

Miyah laughed at Marshall's comment. "Yea, I'm in 213." she replied. She grinned at the idea of sneaking around and finding out what was going on in this place. "Yea, we should. I'm sure we can find out before they try anything on us." she told him. Miyah screamed in surprise as the large nurse came up. "Oh I'm sorry.. you looked like Vern." she stated bluntly. "Yea I'll talk to you later Jayce, It was nice to meet you." she called back to him, another nurse coming up to lead her to her room. She ended up walking right behind Jayce. She grinned, "Told ya so!" she said with a laugh as they were put in rooms next to each other.

((Yeah, there was a problem with Silenia's charity thread so the site was reset a day))

I smiled as I was shunted along the hallway. For some reason having Miyah so close by didn't make things seem so lonely, though of course, with Marshall, one could never be lonely.
"Speak with you later Miyah!" I called cheerily to her as I was slotted back into my room. I smiled to myself as I flopped on my bed, noting that the wall was re-plastered though not re-painted. It seemed weird that grey could exist in a place of clinical black and white.
I rested blearily, racking my brains for something to do. I cast my mind back to my items that were all in a storage locker. Most of my personal posessions were gone not long after I got with Syl, though one thing remained.
"Nurse!" I shouted. "Nurse!"
"Yeah Biatch, get yo butt in here!" Marshall shouted as a very timid woman with mousy hair and a pale pointed face walked in. She had a large needle in one hand which she hastily stuffed in her pocket mumbling something about another patient. I didn't envy the poor person about to be inkjected with the acid green goo.
"Nurse. Will you do me a favour?" I asked her sweetly.
"I can try?"
"I have a storage locker, there is something very special in that locker that I need someone to get for me."
She sucked in her breath. "You know the rules about personal belongings."
"Its a guitar. It will boost morale not just for me but for everyone. Please, can you at least try?" I pleaded.
She weakened.
"I will ask," and with that she bid me goodbye and rushed off. I shook my head and lay back down, the springs groaning in protest.

~Spirit_of_a_Fire_Fox~ 01-12-2010 04:53 AM

Miyah grinned and looked at the nurse that was walking her. "You know, you might look more pretty if you would let your hair down." she told the nurse who had her brunette hair up in a very tight bun. The nurse looked at her in shock. "You don't think this works for me?" she asked Miyah. Miyah shook her head. "Nope, I think it makes you look like a tightass." she replied quite bluntly. The nurse closed her mouth and put her in her room, looking rather upset about her comment.
Miyah looked around her room in distraught, hating that she wasn't able to paint it or throw any color into the place. The only color she had was the pink in her hair. She mumbled to herself curses about this hospital, flopping down onto the bed. This was a mistake, the springs caused her to hurt and she pouted, holding her side. She sighed and looked at the corner of the room next to the bed. "Is that a crack?" she said to no one but herself. She scooted more to the end of her bed and peered into the crack that made enough of a hole between her room and Jayce's. Their beds were on the same wall. "Hey Jayce, can you hear me?" she asked through the crack, wondering if this would be a way they could talk to each other in their rooms.

As I lay back in bed I thought about the bed I had at home. The comfortable double bed with the soft matress and cozy duvet. Well, I lost the bed not long before I came here. I lost most of my posessions. Repo men were not kind and not people to be trifled with. I could still remember Syl appologizing, thinking that I had the funds to support her habbits. It didn't help, though when she said she would always be with me it did make me feel a little better. I snorted in disgust at how stupid I had been.
I suddenly sat up.
I could have sworn I heard Miyah's voice. I looked around wildly.
"You is going mad fool. Ain't no-one here but us," Marshall said to me simply. I ignored him. I peered around the room, then I noticed a large crack in the wall by my bed. It was wide enough to see through into the next room, wide enough to see Miyah peering through. I grinned.
"Miyah?" I said happily. "I can hear you loud and clear. Can you hear me?"

Miyah smiled from ear to ear, "Hi!" she said excitedly. "Yep, I can hear you too Jayce." she replied. "Sweet, now we can talk to each other even after the nurses put us in here." she said. "Oh, I thought I heard some screaming down the hall a minute ago..." she informed him, trailing off a bit. "Oh and we might need to put our beds closer to the wall so they don't come in and patch up these cracks.." she said, getting off the bed and quietly scooting her bed as car as she could to the wall next to the crack. This was extremely helpfull because now she could lay down right and talk to him. She laid back down on the bed, making sure not to just flop down in rememberance of what happened last time she did that. She smiled at Jayce.
