Theives' Guild of the White moon
Prologue
Tayvin looked closely at the approaching merchant cart. 'Perfect timing, as usual he' thought to himself. The sun began setting and the guards in the city were changing shifts, while they were switching was always the perfect time to steal from a victim. Tayvin waited in the shadows of one of the alleys, he looked up and saw Kaia on the roof of a nearby building. 'Now?' She asks, using the guild code with her fingers. 'Not quite yet' Tayvin answered, using the code. He could see her shoulders sag down. Tayvin couldn’t blame Kaia for her lack of patience, it had been stretch pretty thin after waiting for the last hour. Ordinarily Tayvin wouldn’t have waited this long for any particular target, but he wanted to get even for Andru’s betrayal two days earlier. The cart pulled up very close to Tayvin’s spot, Andru walked out of the cart and smiled as a civilian came to make a trade. Andru’s guard was completely down, the fool. 'Now?' Kaia signaled to Tayvin, he smiled. 'Now'. Kaia disappeared from sight, and Tayvin pulled out one of his many small throwing knives. He saw Andru talk to the person and pulled out a small, tied up sack that jingled with the satisfying clink of gold coins. Quickly, he threw his knife at an extremely fast speed at the sack, it moved so fast that when it hit the sack, the blade jammed into a coin and it kept going, dragging the coin (which in turn, dragged the rest of the sack) out of Andru’s hands. He noticed too late when Kaia sprinted out of the shadows and snatched the sack of coins out of the air and ran back into the shadows. Tayvin sprinted out and jumped and pinned Andru to the cart, the civilian ran yelling “THIEVES! THIEVES!”
“So Andru, did you think you could reveal our haven to the Guild of Delusion and NOT be hunted by us?” Tayvin asked him.
“Oh come on! They offered me something of high value, I just couldn’t say no and besides you owe me!” He cried out.
“On what?” Tayvin asked him accusingly
“2 weeks ago, I supplied you that katana and you would pay me back as soon as you could, you said that!”
“Oh… yeah...” Tayvin said as he then remembered that moment. “Well… you, uh… you shouldn’t have trusted the words of a thief.”
“I trusted the words of your rivals and they kept it.” Andru said, he smiled as he realized he caught Tayvin off guard. “What’s going on? Are you done yet?” Kaia asked as she came up from behind Andru, who then noticed that the door to the cart was open. “Wha-!? How did you-?” He stuttered.
“Hey, we’re professionals in this sort of thing and we planned this since you gave away our hideout.” Tayvin answered Andru’s question, he turned his attention to Kaia. “Did you find anything worth taking?” he asked.
“Nothing except a few gold coins inside and this.” Kaia then pulled out a diamond that was the size of her fist. Tayvin’s eyes grew wide at seeing it. “Ooooh… that’s worth at least a thousand gold pieces, maybe more.” Andru gasped. “No, not the diamond! That’s what the people gave me!”
“Oh! Well then in that case, we’ll take it and-” Tayvin was interrupted when an arrow hit the cart with a thak! A few meters away from his head. “…run!” He said as he turned and saw three approaching guards, one with a bow and 2 with longswords, bearing the symbol of the Guards of Arsoma. Tayvin ran for the nearest alley while Kaia threw a Shuriken at the archer’s bow, which went right through the bow. The guard, surprised and shocked, fell to the ground as the star flew right past him. The other guards charged but by the time they made it to the cart, the thieves had long disappeared, hiding in the shadows.





Ch. 1
The city of Arsoma, the booming metropolis of the kingdom of Astromi, of all the cities in this kingdom, Arsoma was the most political and economic city in the kingdom, maybe the whole world. 'And where there’s money, there’s criminals like me' Tayvin thought to himself, the sun shone high and it was close to noon, Tayvin watched the crowded streets of people busying all over through one of the many windows of the royal house, the building where the lords of the city reside. It was Marketday today and the city was always crowded on Marketday, Tayvin had the urge to go into the streets quietly (which was easy) and pick-pocket a few hapless civilians (which was also easy) and the fact that is was Marketday made things much less difficult but, unfortunately, he had to be in the king’s court for a meeting with… well… the king’s court. Right now he was playing as his dual identity, Ventrisio Nomokie, a well respected politician in the court of Astromi. Tayvin looked away from the window when he heard approaching footsteps. He bowed as Lord Regan, mayor of Arsoma, walked into the hall backed by Noble Judoth and two city guards. “Ah, my friend…” Lord Regan stopped and Ventrisio (Tayvin) stood up. “Lord Regan, and Noble Judoth, a pleasure to see you both.” Tayvin said, smiling. Regan wore white clothing and wore a red cloak that was lined with white fur. He smiled upon seeing Ventrisio. “Ventrisio, I’ve been hoping to see you again soon.”
“How was your trip to Wehnoir, my lord?”
“Splendid, we now have a new trade set up with the mountain kingdom and ours.”
“Ah! Excellent news, now Arsoma will be even more prosperous.” Tayvin smiled. 'Good news indeed, for both Ventrisio and Tayvin and the guild' he thought to himself. Regan looked to Noble Judoth and politely saw him off, the guards left with Judoth. As soon as they were alone, Regan’s smile disappeared and he turned to Tayvin. “Ventrisio, I hope you have been attending to the problem of the two thieves’ guilds.” 'Uh oh…' thought Tayvin
“Uh… I have been trying as best as I could but it’s not easy, these guilds are tricky to handle.”
“What have you done to try and stop them?” Regan asked.
“Ah well…” Tayvin scratched the back of his head. “I’ve reorganized where and when each guard patrol goes and I’ve focused it around to where the most crime happens and…”
“And?” Regan asked.
“And well, the guards have caught a few thieves under the Delusion guild but the White moon Thieves’ guild seems to just predict our moves so easily, as soon as the guards were reorganized they just suddenly stopped thieving there and moved to another area. I’m telling you, Regan we have a spy somewhere in the court.”
“Oh come now Ventrisio, how could a spy with that ‘White moon’ guild get past our guards? Even if they are experts in infiltrating.”
“Regan, I’m not talking about that kind of spy, I mean the kind that plays as someone in the court?”
“Ventrisio, you’re getting paranoid, who could possibly be a spy in the court?”
“Anyone could be, Regan, the spy could be Judoth, or even me!” 'Damn, I’m getting too close to the truth'.
“I really doubt that, Ventrisio.” Regan simply said.

High above the two arguing politicians, the ceiling was held up by an arrangement of wooden pillars, one large pillar was built across the from one side of the wall to another and two, smaller, support pillars were built on top of the first pillar and held up a small section of the ceiling. This arrangement was used along the length of the ceiling, one of the larger pillars was built a little differently than the others, the large pillar still had the two smaller pillars as like the rest but the large pillar reached right into a small room which was like the attic in one’s house but no one knew that it was there, therefore no one knew why it was built. But why it was built is completely irrelevant at this time but this is how Kaia snuck into the building, Kaia went into the small room through a broken window on the roof. Kaia knew from Cat, the leader of the Thieves’ guild of the White moon, that he pretended to be Ventrisio Nomokie in the court of Arsoma. Kaia planned to ‘borrow’ some gold coins and other treasures from some unsuspecting royals and maybe give Cat a nice little surprise. She quietly walked on to the wooden pillar (which was the only way to go), but stopped as it made a loud creaking sound, which was a very bad sign. Kaia stood, thinking what to do as the wooden pillar kept creaking, and it was growing louder, fortunately two royals just below her who were arguing about something she couldn’t make out did not hear her. Kaia couldn’t wait for the royals to leave, maybe if she landed successfully on one of the royals’ heads feetfirst, that would knock one of them out but the other would be difficult to take out and would probably – the pillar’s creaking grew louder…

Tayvin (as Ventrisio) showed an impatient face to Regan while he was talking. He heard one of the above pillars of wood was creaking but he ignored it. But it kept getting louder. His theifly instinct told him to investigate that sound but Tayvin dismissed it.
“…and thieves have no care about others, they only care about themselves. The only reason they work together is because they know they’ll gain more from working together but if they think they can gain more by stabbing one of their own in the back and getting away with it, then they’ll do that…”
Somehow the argument turned from a thief spying on the court to the intelligence of thieves and Regan thought they were so blinded by greed that they ignored everything else, including law. Tayvin was angered by this and he was about to say that not all thieves were careless and stupid when something landed on his head.

Kaia successfully landed on one of the royal’s head but she had never done this sort of thing before and was off balance and fell along with the very dazed royal. Regan was shocked and surprised but reacted quickly. “GUARDS! GUARDS!” Regan then drew a previously hidden sword.
Every person has things they just hate and Kaia is no exception. What she hates is the word ‘guard’ cause that means guards are probably coming at her but what she truly loathes, is people hiding swords and then revealing it when she tries to steal something from that person. Regan charged but Kaia was already on her feet. Regan stabbed with his sword as soon as he was in range of hitting her but Kaia easily jumped over him, who had to suddenly stop charging to turn around and face her but while stopping he tripped over Ventrisio’s unconscious body and fell. Kaia was still in trouble, she had no idea where the exit was and the footsteps of armour laden feet were heard from all over and were getting louder. Kaia looked up, the pillar was still standing strong. Maybe, if she was fast enough, she could climb the walls up to the pillar and escape before the guards can react. But that means she’ll have to go through an angry Regan and he may not fall for the same trick again. But maybe another trick? Heavily armed soldiers bearing spears and swords ran into the hall opposite from Regan, great. Kaia decided she’d have to scare Regan with a near-death experience. But he looked like he wouldn’t fall for that, but she didn’t have a choice. She took out one of her shuriken and threw it at Regan but she aimed it so that it would only graze his head. A nice, shocking thing that should stun him long enough to run past him and start climbing. But Regan made the mistake of trying to block it with his sword, the shuriken went right through the sword and it was knocked off course so that it didn’t graze his head, it cut off his right ear. Kaia flinched as Regan screamed in pain. She was about to say she didn’t mean to cut off his ear but then realized he was distracted, Kaia made a run for the wall and was able to climb up, she was half-way up to the pillar and escape when a crossbow bolt hit her in the left shoulder. She screamed as she fell. Kaia landed on the ground with a loud Thump! She tried to get back up but gasped as the pain shot through her shoulder. She looked at her bleeding shoulder, then at the group of guards that slowly converged on her. “Y-you…” She tried to find the words that would insult these people. “…YOU QUIVERING PILE OF PUS! ALL OF YOU!” Not the best insult she had ever used but it was on the fly. “How could you just shoot a girl with an arrow?”
Someone in the group chuckled and pushed aside the guards. This person was not dressed in the usual guard uniform, he was taller and more fearsome than the other guards and he was covered in armor that made him look bigger and more fearsome. On the chest plate of the armor bore not the symbol of the guards of Arsoma but the symbol of a bright orange moon.
“Heh heh heh, not an arrow, missy. A bolt, a crossbow bolt.” He smiled evilly. Kaia was a little frightened, not by him himself but by the orange moon symbol he wore, the orange moon was the symbol of bad luck to the guild of the White moon. Kaia’s fear, however, quickly gave way to anger, this person shot her in the freaking shoulder! “How can you just shoot me with a bolt even if I am a thief.”
“It’s exactly because you’re thief that I shot you.” He sneered, then barked at the guards. “Haul her to the dungeon!” Two young guards picked up Kaia carefully and took her off. Noblemen and women started gathering in the hall. Regan, still in pain from losing his ear, checked on Ventrisio, who groaned. He, with the help of some guards and noblemen, managed to move the unconscious Ventrisio to the medical wing.

Ch.2
Tayvin (as Ventrisio) remembered talking to Regan when something hard landed on his head, then blackness. He tried to open his eyes, and only slightly succeeded. By slightly I mean he managed to get them partly opened but closed them and groaned as his head throbbed. Eventually his head cleared and he managed to sit up but he was still a little dazed. Tayvin looked around the room he was in. He was lying in a bed in the medical wing of the main building of the city. Tayvin waited until he was no longer dizzy, then slowly got up and fully dressed himself, all his stuff as Ventrisio was right beside him. He grabbed his cane and slowly walked out of the room. He didn’t want his head to hurt again, so he walked cautiously. Next time he thought to himself. I’ll listen to my thief instincts. He figured that the pillar creaking before and something landing on his head are connected. Since Regan was right in front of him when he lost consciousness, Tayvin decided to find Regan and ask him what happened. It took him a long time, but eventually found in the front door of the building. While Tayvin was looking for Regan, he noticed there were more guards all over the building. This worried Tayvin a little, could this have something to do with what hit me? He asked himself, he figured Regan would know for sure. The room with the front door was huge. The large door leading outside was kind of the centerpiece of the room, whereas it was the most decorated part in the room, lined with gold and silver linings and the symbol of the kingdom of Astromi. The room itself was built where a number of people entered through the door and they would two semi-circular stairs leading up to the second floor which leads to the hallways which can lead to a number of areas. Tayvin noticed Regan had a bandage wrapped around his head, which covered his right ear. He walked up to Regan, who was talking to a nobleman. Regan, upon seeing Ventrisio, immediately stopped his conversation and looked, smiling, at Tayvin, the noble bowed respectively and walked away.
“Ventrisio, I’m glad you’re awake, how’s your head?” Regan asked.
“Fine Regan. What happened to me, and why are their more guards in the building?” Regan’s face grew dark.
“It turns out you were right, Ventrisio. There has been a spy on the court who was with the guild of the White moon, while she infiltrated into the building, she must have slipped off one of the pillars and landed on you but we managed to capture her. You’re also probably wondering about this bandage…” Tayvin could see the anger in Regan’s eyes growing. “… Well she threw one a Shuriken at me and cut off my ear!” Tayvin’s eyes grew wide. Shuriken? Could the intruder be Kaia? Regan continued. “I tried blocking with my sword but it went right through! How is that possible!?” Shuriken that goes through swords!? It is Kaia! “Hey, are you okay Ventrisio? Your eyes are wide is pale?”
“Huh? Oh, I’m fine, where is she being held?”
“In the dungeon. Why are you- oh- don’t tell me you’re going to talk to her?”
“I just want to ask her a few questions.”
“The interrogators are going to do that in a few hours.”
“Good.” With that, Ventrisio turned around and left. Regan couldn’t explain why Ventrisio was acting like this, but he had more pressing matters to attend to. Tayvin walked on, angry, confused and his head started hurting again. 'Damnit Whim' he thought.

Kaia sat moodily in the corner of her her cell. It was small, cold, wet and the stone floor was hard. very hard. Her bottom was sore from sitting on it. She look at the seemingly stupid guard in front of her cell. He was picking his nose and eating the boogers with relish.

Kaia grimaced, "Don't you have anything better to do than having a feast from your nose? It's rather disgusting. But then what do I matter? I'm just another PRISONER!" She said dramatically sweeping her arms out.

The guard stopped picking his nose instantly and looked at Kaia. There was a large booger dangling from his left nostril. She made a disgusted face, "Bat in the left barrel, Buddy." She said averting her gaze from the guards face to the dark, stone wall.
"I hope Tayvin can get me out of this mess. I don't think I can escape, even with the stupidest guard in the world." Kaia thought feeling slightly depressed. Then she thought of what would happen if Tayvin did get her out of this mess. Man would he be angry! For all she knew he could just leave her here! 'No, he's not that heartless' She thought thinking of how forgiving he'd been to her in the past.

Kaia suddenly heard a faint tapping noise, though Mr. Idiot clearly didn't notice it. It slowly grew louder until she could tell it was someone walking towards them. Kaia got up and pushed her face against the cold iron bars to see who it was. Ventrisio's face came into view. Kaia sighed a sigh of releif as she recognized the tall figure striding down the passage. ((I get the impressing Tayvin/Ventrisio is tall))

Tayvin (as Ventrisio) stared annoyingly at the guard who turned to face him, he had a some kind of disgusting booger hanging down his nose.

"ugh..." Tayvin tried to avoid looking at the disgusting thing.

"HEY!!" The guard yelled. "NO VISITORS HERE!!!"
Tayvin sighed, then reach into his pocket and, without looking at him, threw a small bag of coins at the guard, but his reflexes were too slow to catch the bag and it bounced off his head, landing on the floor. The guard picked up the bag and looked at it glumly, then at Tayvin, who sighed in frustration.

"Look buddy, take the bag and leave, I don't care what you do with it just leave!!"
While hearing for the hurrying steps of the guard to get quieter, he look at Kaia, who showed a shocked face at seeing him toss a bag of perfectly good coins to that disgusting person. When no more steps were heard, Tayvin took a deep breath and looked Kaia straight in the eye.

"So... I hope you realize that you've caused endless problems to yourself, to me and Ventrisio, and don't get me started on the guild Whim. Boy, they'll be sad to hear that you're probably gonna get executed by tomorrow morning."

Kaia looked up in shock.

"Wait, you're gonna leave me here!?"
"No Whim, I don't even know how you got in, or how you landed on my head."
"Yeah..." Kaia said, scratching the back of her head. "...sorry about that."
"Oh you will be sorry if I get you out."
Kaia gulped. "But you will try won't you?"
"You know the honour code Whim, 'no one in the guild will leave another behind unless it can't be helped'."
Kaia smiled. "Thanks Cat"
"Yeah yeah... Now let's focus on the problem of getting you out of here."
"You could try picking at the lock on the cage door, then I could get out."
"Whim, there are guards all over the place, one call and they'll all converged on you faster then you can say 'trapped animal'. We have to think of another way."
Kaia and Tayvin stood there, thinking of some way to break her out...
"Things might have been a little easier Cat, if you didn't throw away those coins like that." She said.
"Trust me Whim, it would've been worse if I tossed you the coins, they're fake."

[[Kya! exciting! 83 ]]

Kaia grinned at the thought of 'Mr. Stupid's' face when he realized the coins were fake...If he ever realizes it. She barely stifles a snort.
"What are you laughing at?" Tayvin asks confused.
"The thought of 'Mr. Stupid's' face when he realizes the coins are fake! God, it just cracks me up!" She answers with another snort of laughter.
Tayvin rolls his eyes, "Could you please stay on task? We need to figure out how to get you out of here. And fast. The interrogators((lol, phail spelling)) are coming in a few hours."
Kaia's eyes grow wide with the thoughts of what could happen if she said one wrong word to the interrogators((lol, phail spelling again!)). She shudders.
"Right, okay. Ummmmm..." Kaia's face suddenly lights up with an idea. "Grab me my bag of shuriken? I can cut through the bars!"
"Genious!" Tayvin said as he reached for the small bag.
"Good thing I was wearing my mask, huh? I'd never be able to go out in public again!"
He nodded as he handed her the bag, "Okay, once your out go the way I leave but there's a passage that leads outside. It'll be the first one you see. Take it. See you soon." Tayvin said and left.

Kaia immediatly began flinging the shuriken and soon there was a hole big enough for her to escape through. She smiled and hurried down the main passage, keeping to the shadows. Once she found the small tunnel Tayvin had told her about she ran stealthily down it, or rather up it. Always keeping her ears open for footsteps, she never heard any. Finnally Kaia found the end of the tunnel and snuck out and into the bushes that lay beside the exit/entrance. She watching all the patrolling guards about.
'I'll have to wait 'til sunset when they change guards.' Kaia thought settling in to her hiding spot to wait for evening.

Tayvin (as Ventrisio) walked through the hallway until he found Regan. Tayvin quickly put up a worried face. Kaia, I hope you got in time he thought to himself.
"Regan!!" He yelled and began running to him. "She's gone!! The prisoner is gone!!!"
"What!? GUARDS!!! The theif has escaped, search the entire house!!" Regan turned to Tayvin.
"Ventrisio, do you know where she might go to escape?"
"Depends, what symbol did she have?"
"She didn't have any symbols." Yes! I can easily get away with this Tayvin thought. He put up a grim and worried face.
"That's not good, the White moon guild always shows their symbols, but the Delusion guild doesn't."
"So she was with Delusion?"
"Most likely, yes and she's not going to leave the build without some revenge, and they are master assasins."
Regans eyes grew wide. "She's going to target one of the royals!"
"We have to get everyone inside the court room and have most of the guards there as well, Remember Regan she's not going to be outside until she kills one of us."
Regan nodded acknoledging (bad spelling) Tayvin's fake warning. "Hurry to the court room, Ventrisio."
Tayvin nodded.
The entire house became a mesh of confusion and wild yelling all around. this REALLY does not help my headache but it should keep them inside while Kaia makes her escape, I can only hope no one goes out the passage she went
[yay! Kaia escapes, my P.O.V. is done here]

Kaia watched in disbelief as almost all of the guards left. Her jaw gaped open, but not for long. 'Now's my chance!' She thought a silently moved along the wall to a place she could dash across. She ran across that small area as fast as her long legs would take her. She snuck through the plants and climbed over the protecting wall around the castle. Kaia was in an alleyway now. She weaved through the maze of dark passages finnally coming to the brick structure that was the guild's hideout. She sighed relieved to be home again. Pushing open the back door Kaia notices Ralse ((hee hee!)),
"Hiya!" She says cheerfully.

[[well...I don't have anything more to write soooooooo, your turn :)]]

"Whim!" He said, surprised. "What took you so long? You always arrived earliar on Marketday."
"Uh... I was slowed down a little." Kaia replyed. Ralse thought about what could possibly slow Kaia down.
"Was it Delusion?"
"No, no it had nothing to do with Delusion, it involved the guards of Arsoma. I'll explain everything later." Kaia turned to the door that to the main room of the hideout. Ralse quickly followed. "Almost everyone has gathered for the meeting. But Cat and 2 others."
"I'm not surprised about Cat, I saw him before I arrived, though I can't how long he'll be but are the two others?" She asked.
"Mora's one of the two, she left about a half hour before you arrived."
"Really? How come?"
Ralse shook his head. "She didn't say." he answered.
"Hmm... I'm sure she'll be back in a while. What about the other person?"
Ralse looked down. Kaia knew who Ralse was going to say.
"...Sheen still hasn't returned?" Kaia asked.
Ralse nodded, then he looked up at Kaia.
"It's been 3 weeks since his disappearance. I'm beginning to assume the worst has happened to him." Kaia could see the worry on his face. She took off her mask and knelt down to the child's length. She patted his head and a comforting face.
"Come on Ralse, Sheen may be a hothead but we both know he's not stupid. So don't give up on him."
"It's just that he's my friend and I'm worried about him."
"We'll I'm sure Cat will cover that in the meeting." Kaia stood up and took a deep breath. "What's for dinner?" She asked. "I'm hungry."
Ralse smiled. "Spaghetti with your choice of sauce."
"Sounds good." Kaia opened the door and in less than a second was overwhelmed by greetings from the Guild, whatever slowed Kaia, Ralse could tell she was very glad to be home.

Hours passed and the sun had long ago set, Tayvin (as himself) ran across rooftops of the buildings and jumped to the next one. The reason he was running was because he was extremely late for the meeting. He, the leader of the Guild of the White moon, was late for a meeting. Oh, I'll never hear the end of it He thought. He was about to jump to the next rooftop when 2 dark silhouettes jumped up from the gap in front of him. 3 more came from behind. Oh no, not delusion theives of all times "You're coming with us, White moon scum" one of the theives, their faces were covered. "Sorry guys, I'm in a hurry."
The delusion theives drew out small throwing knives, Tayvin drew his own out. There is no way can handle two in front of me three behind me.
[Oh noes! Tayvin is in trouble, will he escape from the theives of the Guild of Delusion or will he be captured? Who knows, well, I do]

[[LOL, niiiiice]]

Kaia paced anxously in the main room not listening to the nervous chatter of her guild.
"Where could he be? And Mora hasn't returned yet either." She thought, she had to something! Her guild-mates were depending on her to make a choice. She was second in command, so that meant she was in charge right now.
Abruptly Kaia stopped pacing and grabbed her mask.
"I'm going to look for Tayvin." She annouced slipping on her mask and darting for the door.
"Wait! I'm coming with you!" Ralse said determined.
Kaia sighed and knelt to be eyelevel with him again, "I'm sorry, you can't come. It's too dangerous and your not skilled enough yet. Stay here and guard the hideout." She said standing up.

"Umber! I need you to come with me!"
The dark-skinned theif was ripped from his peacefull sleep at Kaia's voice. "Er, right! What're we doing?" He said quickly grabbing for his own mask and putting it on as he followed Kaia out the door.
"We're looking for Tayvin and hopefully we'll find Mora too."
"Right, ye can count on me!" He said grinning as he ran beside Kaia through the small edge of forest that seperated the hideout from the town. [[Sorry if that's not right, I always imagined the hideout'd be around a lot of trees]]
"Be quiet!" Kaia hissed as they came to a series of ledges they could use to make it onto the rooftop, the stress was getting to her. She moved so quickly going up the ledges she looked like nothing but a flickering shadow.

Umber stared in shock at her as she waited on the roof. Kaia never spoke like that! And to him none-the-less! He leaped up the ledges. Kaia took off with amazing speed as soon as Umber's foot touched the roof and he had trouble keeping up with her. Kaia's sharp eyes quickly caught the flickering movements in the distance.
"That way." She said pointing as she leaped over a gap between buildings.
Umber nodded and ran with Kaia to where she had pointed.

Tayvin dodged a charging theif and countered by knocking him with the butt of his knife on the back of the theif's head, knocking him out. although one was down, 4 more moved behind him and threw their throwing daggers at him. Tayvin barely dodged the incoming daggers but one of them had an extra dagger out and threw it. Tayvin had no time to avoid it in any way, all he could do was lift up his arm and take the damage. It was better then having it hit him in the chest. The dagger jabbed into his wrist.
"Ungh!" He grunted. He pulled the dagger out of his wrist and threw it back, but the theives easily dodged it. Blood poured out and landed on the ground. Tayvin looked around for any signs of escape, but the theives had him cornered. While looking, he noticed 2 flickering objects moving toward him. He couldn't define who they were but he could tell they were people. more Delusion theives? he thought. no, they would've sent out a call, perhaps it's- Tayvin had no time to think as a dark sihoulette jumped from behind him and threw a shuriken at him which Tayvin dodged. The dark shape jumped right over and landed in front of him. Tayvin knew who this theif was.
"Tamara." He growled. [OMG!]
"Tayvin? Well isn't this a surprise." She laughed. 2 more Delusion thieves jumped up behind Tayvin, surrounding him. Tayvin quickly darted his eyes to the flickering objects who were getting closer...
[oh dear... get here quick Kaia otherwise I'm doomed. 'course there's 7 of them including Tamara so it's not gonna be easy.]

Kaia was close enough to recognize the movements of Tayvin amongst the others. "If that's Tayvin, the others must be Delusion!" Thought the now panic-striken theif.
"We have to MOVE!! I think it's Delusion and Cat!!" She said to Umber running so quickly she was practically flying over the roofs.
Umber began falling behind Kaia as she sped up. "Damn! That girl can move way too fast!" He thought trying desperatly to keep up.
"When we get close enough I want you to attack up front, I'll hang back and hit them with my shuriken." Kaia said slowing just enough to tell Umber her instructions. He nodded and slid his hands to the belt where he kept his kunai.
The two were close enough to see small objects flinging through the air. "Throwing knives!" Kaia thought panicked, "But are they Cat's or Delusion's?!"

The kunai Tayvin threw impaled one of the theives but he was still in deep trouble. Tamara and the theives countered by throwing their knives at him, but they aimed so that they would miss him. But Tayvin thought they were actually about to hit him so he dodged. Tamara seized her chance and threw more knives at his limbs, they hit right on target. Tayvin grunted as pain from all over seized him, he then realized these knives were poisoned. He knelt down as his head began to spin.
"Why... Why not just kill me outright?" He coughed.
"Tayvin, We we're paid to capture one of your guild mates, I was expecting someone like Umber but this is an even better prize." Tamara laughed, Tayvin could tell she was reveling this moment. She walked up in front of him and was about to knock him out when a kunai stuck deep in her shoulder.
Tamara's scream was all Tayvin heard when he blacked out...
[This REALLY isn't good for Tayvin but help is here, good luck Whim, I can't really help]

Kaia Whipped her shuriken with lightning speed at the delusion theives circling the now unconcious Tayvin. "Umber's fighting well..For now! He can't handle all of them on his own, and I'm not aiming to kill. I have to help!"She thought quickly jumping over a small gap and aiming to land on a Delusion theif's head. She landed easily not losing her balance this time and succesfully knocked her opponent unconcious.
"Nice move!" Umber said grinning at Kaia while he kicked a delusion theif off the roof.
"Mmm" Was all the answer he got from Kaia as she focused on dodging attacks and countering them.
Suddenly three of the Delusion theives Kaia and Umber were fighting collapsed onto the roof. A almost wire thin stick protruded from each of their necks.
Kaia smiled recognizing the poisoned darts, "Mora! Yes!!" Kaia thought letting her guard down for a moment and getting cuffed over the head by one of the remaining two Delusion theives.
For a moment everything was black and silent for Kaia as she stumbled to the side, reeling from the shock. Her vision came back as a blurr and all the sounds she could hear were subdued.
"Whim!! Whim, you okay?!" Kaia heard Umber calling faintly as if he was behind a thick door. She stumbled again and fell hard onto the roof. She could feel two more thuds vibrate the roof as the two remaining delusion theives were hit with Mora's darts.
"Whim!!" Umber yelled, " Whim! Answer me, Damnit!" He swore more under his breath as he shook Kaia's shoulders. Her vision finnally snapped into view and she could see Umber and Mora's distressed faces. She glanced to the side and saw the bleeding unconcoius Tayvin.
"T-tayvin! He's bleeding...Gotta get...Home!" Kaia said struggling to get up and finnally standing on her now shakey legs.

The kunai that hit Tamara caused her to fall over the edge of the building but she managed to catch hold of a ledge. Tamara tried to figure out a way to return to the roof while the fighting above continued. Then the fighting stopped and Tamara overheard some of the words. If I'm not mistaken that's Umber's voice, and Kaia's there too so Mora's probably there as well, Damn! How could this have happened!? I had him! I had him!! Tamara looked up and noticed the full white moon shining above. If only it was the orange moon shining then things would have been better Tamara then let go, silently landing on the ground and she retreated into the shadows.

Umber carefully picked up Tayvin who groaned, Mora suddenly appeared right beside Tayvin and helped carry him.
"It won't be easy, getting him to the hideout" She said. She never spoke unless she had something important.
"We've got to hurry, Cat could be dying right now." Kaia said in a hurrying tone.
Mora looked Tayvin up and down.
"hmm, odd... Delusion usually kills us whenever they get the chance. The theives seemed intent on only wounding Cat... why would they want to capture him instead?" She shook her head and looked to Kaia. "What I mean is he's not dying, though he's lost alot of blood. I think he'll be fine if we're careful with him."
"O-kay, so how do we get him to the hideout then?" Umber asked. Mora didn't answer...
Miracoulusly they got Tayvin on the streets carefully and, evading the tired patrols with ease, they got to the hideout successfully.

Upon entering the hideout Kaia, Umber and Mora were surrounded in an explosion of worried comments.
"Are you all right?!"
"What happened?!"
"Who did this?!"
The questions all melded together into an flurry of jumbled words as Kaia heard them. Her head throbbed from being hit and all the sudden noise, it had been so quiet on the way home. Umber was pre-occupied with taking Tayvin to the sick room and, of course, Mora wasn't saying anything. Taking a deep breath Kaia put one hand to her head and one in the air signalling everyone to be quiet.
"Delusion surrounded Tayvin," She began and took another breath, "They tried to take him prisnor...we think."
An explosion of defiant cries hit Kaia making her head throb with excruciating((I tried my best to spell...I don't know if I spelled it quite right...)) pain. Overewhelmed, she put both hands against her head.
"Shhhh!" Mora said surprizingly loud.
Kaia sighed relief as there was once again quiet.
"No one leaves alone, doesn't matter what your doing. " She said and began to stumble towards the sick room to get something for her head.
"That isn't your place to say! Tayvin's here you have no right to give any sort of orders!" Someone called out from the back of the crowd.
Stopping for a moment Kaia said "Tayvin is in no condition to gives orders at this time...I'm still...In charge." Not waiting for a reply she hobbled as fast as she could to the sick room.

Tayvin looked around dazed, first noticing the white moon in the night sky and then the sand all around him and he was in the middle of what seemed to him a deserted town. He turned around and noticed a huge fortress that rivaled Castle Astromi in sheer power. He stood in awe at the castle when the huge gate opened and a small carriage came out. Tayvin noticed from the armored guards that were escorting the carriage that they were with the Kingdom of Armagg.

What am I doing here? He thought. Tayvin thought of taking cover but he knew he was already in there line of sight, yet the guards didn't yell, nor did they even turn there heads at him. Tayvin moved out of way as they past by, they didn't even look to him. Tayvin heard someone moaning inside the carriage. Someone on horseback trotted up behind the carriage.

"Take him far out in desert and cast him away, leave him with no supplies at all, leave him with his armor, he won't last long anyways." The rider ordered.

"Yes My lord!" One of the guards responded.

What is going on? Tayvin was horribly confused. He then noticed the sweat coming down his forehead. He lost the strength in his legs and he seemed to lose consciousness.

Tayvin opened his eyes and was disoriented. Just a minute ago he was in the desert kingdom of Armagg.

Was it all a dream? Tayvin sat up and saw he was in a bed. He noticed he was in the sick room of the hideout. Tayvin got up and dressed himself. He saw he was the only one in the room and got into a battle stance. Practicing with jabs and a few kicks.

"Looks like I've fully recovered." He said happily. The door opened and Ralse came in who nearly jumped out of his skin seeing Tayvin up.

"CAT!" He yelled. "Guys! Guys!! Cat's awake!!!"
[I feel now this could be Kaia's P.O.V.]

Kaia jumped up from her chair when she heard Ralse. She hurtled down the hall and practically tackled Tayvin with a hug. Forgetting that it would more likely than not hurt to be glomped.
"Your okay!!!!!!!" She cried, overjoyed.
Tayvin stumbled backwards and laughed "Yeah, I'm alright. You don't think I could be killed that easily, do you?"
"Well...No, but it doesn't make me stop worrying..." She said and released him from her grasp and fumbled with the hem of her shirt.
"There was...um..Something I wanted to tell--" Kaia began but was cut off as Mora, Umber and the others gathered 'round the door to get a glimpse at their newly recovered leader.
"So, uh...How 'bout that meeting then?" He said with a chuckle and scratched the back of his head.
Everyone smurmered their agreements and sauntered to the main room to take their seats, Kaia hung back with Tayvin.
He turned back to the blue-eyed girl, "What did you want to tell me?" He asked slightly concerned noticing a hint of distress in Kaia's eyes.
" N-nothing, it's nothing." She said shaking her head as she shuffled out to join the others.
"Hmmm..." Tayvin muttered and followed.

((Yeah, I know. Not the BEST...But hey! it's something!))

I had a hilarious random idea for sometime in the story, it might make things interesting XD Anyways, Regan's being all insane and infatuated with his wife or whatever and says to Ventrisio "You need a wife! Yes, yes! Go get a wife! A promotion might be in order if you doooo~((Or something, promotion was the best I could think of))" And he decides to go along with it(God knows why XD) and like fakes a marriage with Kaia! XD LOL, funny right?]]

Tayvin walked up to the front of the seated crowd. He took a deep breath and looked at the guild.

I'm really glad I made it through He thought.

"So." He said. "Are we all here?" He asked.

"All but Sheen..." He heard Ralse mutter. Tayvin nodded to him with a sympathetic face.

"W-we'll get to that in a moment. Now then, before I begin I have a few questions. How long was I out?" He asked.

"It's dawn right now, Cat." Although Tayvin couldn't see Umber in the crowd (which was odd considering his height) He could tell Umber was the one who answered.

"A few hours, huh? I took hits from throwing knives, there's no way my wounds could have healed that fast." He said.

"We got the twins to heal your wounds, Cat." Kaia answered.

The twins? he thought. I thought they would be gone longer

"Hm, how much did they charge?" He asked.

"100 gold coins but everyone chipped in so the guild didn't lose much." Ralse answered.

"Well, I think that answers just about everything. Now, to buisness (agh, I don't know how to spell that). I was originally going to talk about Sheen's disappearence but as you all probably know I was ambushed on my way here by the Delusion theives."

"Thank god Whim and Umber and Mora arrived before they killed you." Someone said.

"They didn't try to kill me, if they did..." Tayvin hesitated for a moment, then continued. "Whim and Umber and Mora would've been too late, they tried to capture me." This caught murmurs throughout the crowd. Tayvin soon continued.

"Although I don't know why Delusion has gone to kidnapping, I'm almost certain it involves Sheen's disappearence." The crowd was silent, Ralse looked down.

"From now on." Tayvin said. "No one goes outside the hideout alone and without my and Whim's permission and when you are outside, you will be on guard at ALL times, be ready to draw you're weapons if needed. If you encounter any trouble at all, try to return to the hideout as soon as possible but make sure you're not followed, the last thing we want is Delusion knowing our haven, which we barely avoided with the incident with Andru. Also, it is very much suggested that you return here at sunset, since Delusion is most active at night. With that said, we will be more reluctant to let people leave at night. If ANYONE disobeys any of these new rules, I will deliver harsh punishment to those that return, also I'll take away your bonus if that happens. Does everyone understand?"

"Understood Cat- wait bonus? What bonus?" Ralse was confused along with the rest of the group.

"Remember the diamond me and Whim snatched from Andru during our 'vengeance heist'? I managed to sell in the black market for..." Tayvin purposefully waited for the tension to build. "...100 thousand gold coins." The guild had never been noisier. Kaia nearly fell off of her chair. Umber stood up, knocking down 2 others. Mora's eyes grew wide, And Ralse did fall off of his chair. Once the noise died down, Tayvin looked to Kaia.

"Whim, in my room there is chest of coins in pouches for every guild member, I already divided the coins equally. I want you to grab the chest, bring it out here and give everyone a pouch."

"Wait? Why do I have do it?" Kaia asked.

"Yesterday morning, that's all I'm going to say."

"Oh...Right... I'll go grab it." Kaia said moodily as she left, her shoulders drooped.

Kaia opened the wooden door that lead to Tayvin's room. She stood in the centre of it and peered about the room looking for the chest.
"Aha!" She exlaimed as her ice-blue gaze landed on the dark chest full of golden, shimmering coins. She couldn't actually see the gold, be she knew it was there. It was a theif's intuition. Plus it was the only chest in the room. ((XP))
Kaia Purposfully grabbed the handle with both hands and pulled. It didn't budge. She changed her stance and puller harder this time. Still nothing. Frustrated, Kaia yanks the chest with all her strength. It moves forward a few inches but the sudden shock of it moving so quickly sends Kaia flying. Her small frame hits the wall knocking vases and books from the shelf above her with crashes.
"...I'm okay..." She calls out to no one in particular. "But I think I need some help..."
Kaia glares at the chest and waits to see if anyone will come aid her with transporting the chest out to the main room.
"Nevermind!" She sais determindedly and kicks the chest. "Stupid" She hisses at it whil she opens it up. The cest was indeed filled with puches of gold coins. Kaia grabs as many as she can carry and walks purposefully to the main room to hand them out.

((OMG! I finnally posted X3 And I was thinking since you mentioned you felt there was something between Kaia and Tayvin maybe Kaia could secretly like/love Tayvin. It's up to you, it doesn't particular matter to me. LOL, I can do some pretty cheesey romantic scenes though XD ROFL))

"Excellent." Tayvin said as Kaia passed the pouches out to the guild.

"Because of these recent difficulties, I'm going to get some practice done."

"On what?" Mora asked but Tayvin quickly disappeared to his room and almost immediately came out holding a sheathed katana.

"I got this weapon for a reason. I'm planning to find a tutor to teach me how to use this thing." Mora nodded, understanding what he meant.

"But Cat." Ralse spoke out, finally distracted from his set of coins. "Who do you know that teaches the use of weapons?"

"She doesn't really teach how to use katanas but she uses them very well." Tayvin answered.

Ralse thought it over, then his eyes grew wide but Kaia spoke just before he did.

"You're not going to find Magen, are you?" Kaia nearly dropped the next batch of pouches she was carrying.

"Yep. But I'm not going alone." Tayvin turned to Mora. "You're coming with me Mora." Mora nodded in answer.

"Cat, you do remember she's Tamara's friend, right?" Kaia was extremely worried. Tayvin knew that the rest of guild was silent, worried as well, they had nearly lost their leader, they didn't want him to risk his life again just after he recovered.

"You do remember that she's an assassin for hire and not part of Delusion right?" Tayvin countered, then he grabbed a pouch from Kaia. "I'm spending my entire bonus on this and don't worry, I'll be on my guard." He smiled a reassuring to Kaia, then to the guild.

"Then how come I'm not coming?" Kaia asked, handing out the last of the pouches.

"You can come, but who's gonna stay here to monitor who leaves the hideout?"
Ralse was the first to raise his hand.

"Back on door duty huh?" Tayvin laughed.

I FAST FORWARD TIME TO THE NEXT DAY!! BUAHAHAAAA~!!!

When Kaia woke the next day, Tayvin had already left with Mora. They'd gone to find Magen and ask her to teach Tayvin how to use katana's. "I hope it goes well." She thought absently getting up and washing her face with the bowl of water in her room. She began to change but,
"Hah, hiya Kaia" Umber's voice wafted into Kaia's ears as he leaned in her open doorway. The auburn haired girl's face exploded into a furious blush as she covered herself with a blanket and chucked whatever she could get her hands on at him.
"GET OUT!!! GET OUT!! GET OUT!! GET OUT!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as she hurled a vase at him. It missed and shattered to pieces at his feet.
"A'right!" He said laughing, "I get the picture, geeze!" And he sauntered away.
"PERVERT!!!!" Kaia scremed after him and slammed the door shut.

Kaia now sat in her usual place at the dining table, Ralse sat beside her silently munching on his breakfast. She shot an icy glare down to Umber, who was sitting a few seats away from her. Ralse looked at her surprized,
"What's going on, Kaia?" He asked confused .
"Hmph, you heard the racket this morning?" Ralse nodded, "Well that perverted pig was trying to watch me dress!" She shot Umber another furious glare. Umber just grinned back at her which made Kaia's skin prickle with resentment. This was actually a normal occurance, Kaia often got into fights with Umber. Fortunatly they never last long and she usually forgives him at the end of the day.
"Aw, c'mon! Don't hold it against me!" He said as Kaia got up. She was going to just leave, but when she heard Umber's comment she couldn't stop herself from pulling his chair backwards sending the dark-skinned boy to the floor. And with a maniacle(SP?!) laugh she left the room.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WON'T DO IT!!!?" Tayvin yelled. Mora shook her head at her guild leader's outburst, she warned him earliar that Magen would probably not accept Tayvin's request to teach him how to use the katana despite the money he tried to bribe her with.

"Look, although me and Tamara are no longer on the same side that doesn't mean I'm on yours, I still have grudges you know!" Magen explained.

"But come on! If I get killed because you didn't teach me you won't be hired to--
"I can still find other work, besides, the thought of you dead amuses me." Magen chuckled. Tayvin growled a little. It wasn't easy, finding Magen but Mora spotted her on one of the rooftops of a building. Tayvin took a deep breath, and stared at Magen.

"Okay Magen, what did I do to get you on your bad side?" He asked.
"2 months ago, you and your guild had me cornered and you beat the crap out of me!!" Magen yelled.
"uh-huh..." was all Tayvin said. Everyone was silent while Tayvin thought about things. I remember, she tried to kill Umber while we were in the middle of a big heist, big mistake...

"Okay Magen, You have used your katana for a long time which means you're more experienced with it, I have never used this before, I don't even know how to hold it. So, if we were to enter a duel where we use only these weapons, then you have a strong advantage and could easily beat me. You still with me here?" Tayvin asked. Magen thought about what Tayvin was saying.
"What are you getting at?" She asked.
"I'm talking about a duel. You and me, right now, using nothing but our Katanas."
Mora was impressed, Magen couldn't resist the offer of beating someone she had a grudge on, especially if she had the advantage, so Tayvin will get some practice nonetheless. But the plan has its drawbacks, Tayvin will probably get pummeled by Magen because of her superior skills with a Katana and, considering he only recovered a day ago, it's very risky for him. Do you have a trick up your sleeve, Cat? She thought.

Magen thought about this and smiled.
"Alright Tayvin, your on!" She was about to unsheath her weapon when Tayvin spoke.
"We'll keep our Katana's sheathed, that way, we avoid blood but not pain."
"Hmph, fine." Magen said, slightly disappointed. She got into a battle stance with her sheathed sword facing toward Tayvin. Tayvin quickly examined it and copied it. Magen stood still, waiting for Tayvin to strike first. As he charged, Magen took a step to her left and got ready to swing her sword like a bat. She swung with all her strength. Tayvin blocked successfully but the powerful attack knocked him off balance, leaving him open to more attacks. Magen saw this oppotunity and charged. This fight barely begun and it's already gonna be over. She mused. Mora watched, grimacing as Tayvin got beaten by a flurry of attacks. Mora's attacks are quick and decisive, she only uses powerful strikes if the foe is inexperienced, which Cat is. Damnit Cat, though clever at times, sometimes your plans turn back at you. Mora readied herself for a quick strike, just in case Magen decided to go too far.

Magen backed off, giving Tayvin a quick breather. Now for the verbal attacks. "You know Tayvin..." She said as Tayvin pulled back his mask, Magen noticed the blood dripping down his lips. She reveled this moment. "...You can so stupid at times. It makes me wonder how someone so careless ever formed a guild." She taunted. While Magen continued taunting, Tayvin took a deep breath, looking back at Magen's attack style. Quick and decisive, seizing any and every vulnerable spot. He then quickly looked all the way back to the beginning of the fight, back to when he charged and Magen got ready to swing... ...Found it! He smiled.
"What are you smiling for?" Magen asked, deep down, that smile worried her. I should probably attack him another way She thought.
Tayvin quickly got rid of the smile and charged. Magen nearly laughed, The fool. Mora looked and was ready to strike at Magen at the position she stood. She didn't hold her sword like a bat, she had the sword pointing at Tayvin, and pulled it back so far, the hilt was past Magen's shoulder, She's going to stab at Cat! Though the sword is sheathed, that might kill him if it hits Tayvin noticed and quickly disected that move as he charged.
Slight change of plans, but I'm flexible. Tayvin had to carefully time this. Magen struck the impaling move, and Tayvin lifted his right foot, and turned his body right, narrowly evading the attack. Then, he saw her back wide open for a strike, which he took, bringing his sword down for an attack. Magen noticed only too late about Tayvin's upcoming attack and the sword struck her hard. Knocking her off balance, she turned to face Tayvin, who charged again. Not thinking, Magen tried to swipe at his head but he ducked and countered by stiking at her legs. The next thing Magen noticed, was her on the ground coughing up some blood, and Tayvin saying "I think I've had enough practice for today, let's go, I'm starving." Mora stared in disbelief at Tayvin's amazing comeback, soon she followed. When Magen regained her senses, she got up and looked, and noticed the pouch of gold coins on the ground.

More screaming could be heard as Tayvin and Mora entered the large house.
"Mora! Tayvin!" Ralse said jumping up from his seat. "Kaia and Umber are fighting again...and...well...anyone who gets near them practically gets punched...I-if your okay...Do you think..?"
Tayvin laughed and rubbed the dried blood off his forhead, "Yeah, of course!"
Some incomprehensible screaming was heard. "I'll go do that right now..." He said walking quickly towards the noises. As he drew near he could make out the words
"UMBER DON'T YOU DARE TELL ANYONE!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW YOU FOUND OUT!"
"Why shouldn't I?"
"WHY?! WHY?! WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU NEED TO ASK!"
"I don't see how anyone finding out you l-" Umber stops in mid-sentance as Tayvin enters
"Hey! What's going on?"
"Oh, I just thought you sh--"
"NOTHING! JUST A STUPID ARGUMENT!!" Kaia said, quickly cutting Umber off. "See?! It's all over now, all better! all made up!" She continues urgently giving Umber a hug.
The dark-skinned boy looks shockedly((Is that a word?)) at Kaia.
"Er, well...Alright then, don't break anything!" Tayvin said leaving. "I wonder what they were talking about..." He thought curiously.

As the last rays of sun disappeared, the guild sat down at the main table for dinner. Tayvin counted for everyone that sat down. ...And then there's Umber, Kaia and me, Well, that's just about everyone except for Sheen and --wait... "...Where's Mora?" The entire guild went silent, Ralse stood up.
"She said she was going to be right outside the door, nowhere near the city." Tayvin bolted to the door and opened it. He looked around and called for Mora but there was no answer and no sign of the missing theif. Tayvin, after standing there for a few seconds, slammed the door.
"God damnit Mora!!" He yelled as he slammed his fist to the door. Ralse looked down guiltily. "It's my fault, Tayvin. I assumed Mora had already checked with you or Kaia I should've checked with you." The guild leader took a deep breath and looked at the young guilt-striken theif. "It wasn't your fault, Ralse. Mora wouldn've probably left anyways even if you checked with me or Kaia."
"This is the second time that Mora left without telling anyone." Someone said.
"Why is she leaving silently?" Another person asked.
"I don't know why but when Mora gets back, I'm going to find out." Tayvin declared. After that, dinner was eaten uneasily, Tayvin kept hearing for the sound of the door to open but no sound came. After dinner, the guild tried to stay up but soon only a few people remained awake, including Tayvin, Kaia, and Umber, well, actually Umber didn't count cause he was snoring in a chair so it was just Kaia and Tayvin waiting. Tayvin sighed with impatience after a while, he was still angry at Mora for leaving without notice.

Kaia absent-mindedly fiddled with a fork that remainded on the table. She laid it down quietly and slid her chair back with a screeching noise which was amplified by the silence that enveloped them. As she stood up Tayvin glanced at her, she ignored him and walked silently down the narrow hallway to her room. Kaia imerged a moment later carrying a small silver object. She placed her fingers on the correct holes and her lip rested lightly on the mouth-piece. As she blew into her small piccolo and fluttering sounds (like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCLuv...eature=related) surrounded them.

Umber woke to the high melodies Kaia was playing and stared at her. Kaia hadn't brought her piccolo out in ages! At the least a year!

Tayvin smiled a little and sat back. The music from the piccolo cheered him up a little. Just then the door opened, Kaia stopped playing immediately. Tayvin and Umber got up faster than ever. I'm not used to confronting anyone like this before, I don't know what sort of punishment I should give her But when Mora appeared in the room carrying the bleeding limp body of Sheen Michia, he forgot about it entirely.
"Quick! get him into the sick room!" He yelled.
"It's useless Tayvin." Mora said. "He's already dead."
Everyone stood still, except Mora, who put the dead theif down.
"Where did you find him!?" Tayvin yelled.
"I found him crawling out of one of the manholes in the city, he was bleeding from all over, I knew even if I hurried he wouldn't make it..." Mora pulled her mask off, revealing a greif-stricken face. Tayvin looked down and examined Sheen's body. He was covered in scars and cuts, but they weren't from battle.
"...He was tortured." He growled. Everyone tensed up, it wasn't the first time they found one of their guildmates dead and it wasn't the first time Tayvin lost his temper, which he rarely did, unless one of his guildmates were killed. Kaia spoke up.
"But Delusion never tortured anyone, they just kill without asking questions." She said.
"I have a feeling it wasn't Delusion, when I found Sheen, he was carrying this." Mora handed Tayvin a ripped piece of parchment. His face showed no change but his hands clenched on the parchment. The Parchment showed not words, but a symbol of a bright orange moon, the guild's bad luck symbol.
"What? What is it?" Umber asked loudly, his own temper boiling over. Tayvin handed him the parchment. Umber tensed, his eyes growing wide.
"T-this is...?" He stuttered. Tayvin looked to Mora.
"Is it a new guild? Perhaps a warning from them?" He asked. Mora shook her head.
"I don't know."
Umber passed the parchment to Kaia, who looked at it. As soon as her eyes came on the symbol that was inscribed on it, she nearly stumbled back.
"I-I've seen this before." She said. Tayvin instantly turned to face the blue-eyed theif.
"Where? When?" He asked calmly but in a hurrying tone.
"Two days back, in the Royal house, I tried to make my escape but a man with a crossbow fired a bolt through my shoulder, he was more armored then the normal guards, and he had that exact same symbol on his chest plate."
Tayvin looked away and was silent for only a little while but to everyone else it felt like an eternity.
"It's late. Let's bury Sheen now, and then get some rest, will have his funeral tomorrow."
After they buried their friend, they walked back inside the hideout. Tayvin stayed farther back and Kaia stayed with him.
"I don't what I'm going to say to Ralse." He said.
"I can talk to him if you like." Kaia said.
"Thanks but, I think it's best if I do it."
Tayvin went into his room after saying his goodnights, but he could not sleep. No one could...
